1st place: Town (Pie, Savant, Mharman, Banana, Casey, WyIted, Earth)
2nd place: Mafia (Lunatic, Mikal)
Roles: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uyAbsTGOpS7oskFDIfB3u5DLbXsDyvfbjFY52e3er8I/edit?usp=sharing
Night Actions (NP1):
Pie gave Earth Justice
Earth Justiced Mharman and Casey (silenced by Freezer)
Casey used Pathologist on Pie
WyIted Avoided Earth
Lunatic Froze Earth
Mikal NK'd Casey
Night Actions (NP2):
Pie gave Mharman Tracker
Lunatic Silenced Pie
Lunatic NK'd Earth
Mharman Tracked Pie
Easy MVP was Mharman. Baiting out the fake from Luna and Mikal was particularly inspired. Mikal did have it called in the scum chat, but ended up being convinced to go with Luna instead of bussing him.
As for looking back on the game, I'll start by just owning up to it, I did make some errors this game.
I'll start with the basic transcription error. I copy-pasted the Silencer from mafiauniverse and that included the "no vote" aspect. I was tempted to roll with it, but it would end the game one DP early, which would have made the game absurdly scum-sided, so I swapped it for "one vote." Sorry for the error, not sorry for the change.
I also made a couple of calls during the game that are bound to be controversial, so I'll discuss the "why" and my feelings on it in retrospect.
I prioritized Pie's Inventor role so that it couldn't be directly prevented. This was an attempt to balance a game where I only had one town player with any strong investigative role (I'd consider the Pathologist role pretty weak). That, coupled with the fact that Pie could have given any of his roles to a scum player and that they could themselves be roleblocked or killed made me think I needed to give this role some leg up. That might have been too much, and I think in retrospect it would have been better to just change up the Pathologist role to make it stronger and make Pie an investigative JOAT (as Mharman suggested). This was me trying something that was always going to be difficult if not impossible to balance.
As for the second issue, I decided ahead of the game that a roleblocked role was just not going to be used up, and I do think that was a mistake as applied to the roles granted by Pie's Inventor in particular. At minimum, I should've been looser on how that perspective applied in this game, and I think the Freezer should have resulted in Earth having used up the Justice role. It just made Pie's role more powerful than it should have been by NP2. Apart from that, it probably would've been best to leave Pie's Inventions at 2. I think altogether, these decisions did make the game town-sided, so my balance was off.
Anyway, I'll leave the self-flagellation there and focus on the game. I was surprised people were so ready and willing to lynch Savant that early, particularly with a claimed Doctor on the table. I get that scum could ask about two roles and could have designed this claim knowing there was a Doctor in the game, but it seemed particularly risky, especially coming from Mharman who stood to lose his role.
As for WyIted in the second DP... yeah, it was a bit painful to read his paraphrasing of my PMs. I probably would have townread his being so flabbergasted with so much of the terminology, but I get why he was being scumread, even if the "scumslips" were reaching.
I think town also gave both Luna and Mikal way too much leeway in those first two DPs. I get that Mikal was absent for a lot of that first DP, but he barely posted in the second and Luna didn't have to do too much to keep attention off of him.
Luna and Mikal definitely had some opportunities to win out in the end, but their concern over the Justice role ended up winning out over some more promising strategies. That's partially on me for reasons I've already described, though I think the risk of the Justice was pretty low given what they had on hand with an Ascetizer and the Even Night Godfather. They pushed a little too hard for the DP3 win, but especially on those last two nights, they were putting in solid effort to design fake claims and run through a lot of potential night actions. Props to them for putting it all on the line.

Onto DP3!
Dead Players:
Savant - Salmonella - Enabler (Doctor) - Town (Lynched DP1)
Casey_Risk - Pseudomonas - Pathologist - Town (Killed NP1)
Lynched DP2:
WyIted - You are Mycobacterium! You are a water and soulborne microbe that is mostly well known for the illnesses it causes, particularly Mycobacterium leprae and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. What distinguishes all of them is a waxy, lipid-rich cell wall, which imparts a particularly strong resistance to immune cell responses and means infections with Mycobacterium tend to last. You are the Avoider! Each night, you may target another player. If that player targets you with any night action, it will not work. You may not target the same player on back-to-back nights. You win with the Town.
Died in the Night NP2:
Earth - You are Staphylococcus! You are regularly found in soil, but are mainly known for your role on human skin as an all-too-common protective resident. You have a very bad habit of getting into other places, and some of your species, particularly Staphyloccocus aureus, are notorious for picking up some antibiotic resistances that make you very difficult to kill. That balances your with your role as one of our body’s greatest protectors, so we take the bad with the good. You are Vanilla! You have no special abilities, but you have your vote and your voice. You win with the Town.
Remaining Players:
1. iamanabanana
2. Lunatic
3. Mharman
4. ILikePie5
5. Mikal
With 5 alive, it takes 3 votes to lynch. The DP ends in 72 hours on Tuesday, June 17 @ 7:30 AM EST.
Additional information:
- Pie has been SILENCED! He may vote one time today, and he may not post otherwise.

The sun rises. Another DP begins.
Lynched:
Savant - You are Salmonella! You are one of the most infamous foodborne microbes around, wreaking havoc on the guts of many mammals. A major problem in chickens especially as Salmonella enterica, you are particularly adept at modifying the environment of the gut around you to suit your purposes by modifying both host responses and available nutrients, facilitating the survival of only those microbes that help you. Many microbes wouldn’t thrive in the gut without you. You are the Enabler! When you die, the role "Doctor" will cease to function for all players. You win with the Town.
Died in the Night:
Casey_Risk - You are Pseudomonas! You are found in water and soil. You’re mainly known in medical circles for the opportunistic infections you cause, particularly as Pseudomonas aeruginosa in burn and surgical patients. Mostly, though, you’re known for your amazing capacity to decompose organic compounds, including plastics and hydrocarbons. Because you break things down so easily, you’re the Pathologist! Each night, you may visit a dead player and receive a copy of all feedback messages received by that player over the course of the game. Any messages that player received from me will be conveyed to you. You win with the Town.
Remaining Players:
1. iamanabanana
2. Lunatic
3. Earth
4. Mharman
5. ILikePie5
6. Mikal
7. WyIted
With 7 alive, it takes 4 votes to lynch. The DP ends in 72 hours on Monday, June 16 @ 9 AM EST.

Welcome to Microbiology Mafia! I'll try to avoid too much technical information and jargon in this game, mainly to make sure everyone can understand what I'm posting. This game is all about bacteria, so despite my personal affection (yes, I do mean that) for them, there will be no viruses in here (sorry Ebola, not this time). No fungi or molecular parasites, either. I thought this would be a good opportunity to put out some fun facts about bacteria as this games goes on, so I hope people enjoy those.
To answer some of the obvious questions: there is a theme split, scum will be able to ask about two roles and two characters over the course of this DP as usual, I will attempt to keep up with the DP to the best of my ability and respond to both public and private questions (with limitations of course), and I'll attempt to keep an ongoing vote count going.
Going to stick to some pretty basic rules (once again, stealing these from Pie):
1) No editing or deleting posts of any kinds
2) No copy/pasting your role PM (please paraphrase)
3) No cryptography of any kind
4) No communication outside of the mafia game
5) No liking/upvoting posts after you die
6) No using ChatGPT/AI to paraphrase your PM
Everyone gets the drill by this point. I'll add extra rules if needed, but I don't suspect I'll have to do that.
All DPs will be 72 hours and NPs 24 hours unless the NP ends with everyone submitting actions earlier.
Remaining Players:
1. Savant
2. iamanabanana
3. Casey_Risk
4. Lunatic
5. Earth
6. Mharman
7. ILikePie5
8. Mikal
9. WyIted
With 9 players alive, it takes 5 votes to reach majority for a lynch. This day phase will end on Thursday, 6/12/25 at 12:30 PM EST.

Doing this one solo and seeing how it goes. Should be interesting.
This game will be themed on microbiology. I'm going to limit the focus to bacteria. There will be a theme split. Going to start this thing off with 9 slots and expand if interest does as well. I'm still working on the setup so there's room to figure things out if needed. No, you don't need to have detailed knowledge of microbiology to understand the theme. The aim will be to start sometime in a week or so.

Town wins
Town
Mikal - MiG-21 - First introduced in 1959, the MiG-21 operated during a period in which the Soviets may have had the both a quantitative and qualitative advantage in air combat. MiG-21 is the most widely built jet fighter ever, at over 13000 built (including license built variants), and widely exported. The MiG-21 was cheap and easy to maintain, and was able to fly at over Mach 2, though it had poor range and reliability. You were frequently used as in an interceptor role in addition to a fighter. You are the follower.
iamanabanana - F-16 Fighting Falcon - The American F-16 is a well-rounded late-cold war air superiority fighter. It's reliable, maneuverable, well-armed, has great electronics, and has good range for its size. It is the most widely operated aircraft in current day. "F-16 Fighting Falcon" is also the username of a skilled former DDO mafia player - for this reason you are the double voter.
Lunatic - Saab 37 Viggen - The Viggen is a Swedish fighter introduced in 1971. It was the first fighter produced in quantity to feature canards - stabilizers placed in front of the main wing. The canards on the Viggen allowed it to have better low-speed maneuverability and short-takeoff capability. The Viggen was also the first fighter to feature on onboard digital computer with a heads-up display, to aid the pilot in flight and combat tasks - because of the enhanced information, you are 1x journalist. Once per game you may target another player, and if they receive a role message that night, you will also receive a copy.
Mharman - Harrier - The Harrier "jump jet" is a British aircraft, design to operate off of small aircraft carriers and helicopter carriers. It is one of the few operational VTOL jet aircraft, meaning it can take off and land vertically. The Harrier is able to operate with no runway - for this reason you are 1x hider; you are compulsive, you are required to use your role on NP1.
ILikePie5 - F-2 - This Japanese aircraft was the result of collaboration between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Lockheed Martin, as such it is very similar to the US F-16. Notably it was the first combat aircraft to integrate an AESA radar. AESA radars are several times more effective at detecting enemies while simultaneously being lower observable and harder to jam. You are 2x cop.
Moozer325 - Tejas - Tejas is India's first attempt at an indigenous modern 4th gen fighter. It features a single-engine, delta-wing configuration. Its development was plagued with problems and overruns, and to this day very few have been manufactured. However, it represents an important step in India's military hardware indigenization effort. You are vanilla.
WyIted - Me 262 - The Me 262 was a late WWII Nazi jet aircraft. It was the first jet fighter produced in quantity. Like many Nazi weapons at the time, the Me 262 was a bit too advanced for its time. Although 1000 were produced, it was not enough to change the results of the war. Because of your Nazi origins, you are the Miller.
Mafia
That2User - F-117 Nighthawk - The American F-117 fighter-bomber was the first aircraft be designed for all-aspect stealth. The F-117 was developed as secretive project and was highly advanced for its time. Its low radar cross section and reduced heat signature allowed it to evade both enemy radar and anti-air missiles. Low-observability is the foundation of air superiority doctrine to this day - You are godfather.
whtieflame - J-36 - The J-36 prototype was first spotted flying in Chengdu, China, late 2024. It is the first of the next-gen fighters in development that has been captured on video. Notable features of the J-36 include 3 engines, massive size, and the lack of a vertical stabilizer, suggesting that it's focused on electronics power generation, range, and stealth - You are JOAT; your abilities are 1x commuter (on nights you commute, you may not perform the NK), 1x roleblocker, 2x ninja.
Theme hint - the mafia is stealth fighters. If only one of you claim your real character, you probably won't be sussed too much. Here's a list of jet-fighters you might fake claim: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fighter_aircraft anything after 1948 would fit in the theme.

Commentary
Bad luck with the fake claim.
I made a PM error at the beginning, I sent out a PM for Rafale - ascetic to both WyIted and Moozer:
This role was removed and replaced with Me 262 - miller, and Tejas - vanilla. Mafia was given some info to compensate for this.

Roses are red, violets are blue. In Soviet Russia, the game plays you!
IT'S A MAFIA + THIRD PARTY VICTORY!
Mafia: Cerulean, Lunatic
Third Party: whiteflame (Survivor)
Commentary:
"Dude is everyone just playing bad on purpose"
-- Vader, sent to me after his death, providing the realest quote of this game.
I will admit, I made a mistake in setting up this game. Ivan IV was indeed the first Tsar of All Russia, but wasn't necessarily the first person to be called 'tsar', which is where the town v town fight between Banana and Earth came from. Tsar of All Russia was a particular title that Ivan IV was the first to hold, while Ivan III was referred to as 'tsar', though Russia was not yet a true tsardom at the time and he was mostly referred to as 'tsar' by people outside Russia. Also, I'm not sure if he was actually the first person to be called 'tsar'. Yeah, I wasn't as familiar with Ivan the Great as most of the other characters in this game, and I should have been more careful about writing his role PM. I sincerely apologize for that.
That being said, the town really brought this loss upon itself. Even without PM issues, Earth may have gotten himself lynched regardless with how little he was posting and contributing. Earth, I know you are a low poster in general, and I'm not going to ask you to completely change up your playstyle or anything like that -- I think having players with different styles is overall a good thing. That being said, you have to do something to make sure you actually get townread.
Really, that's the lesson that needs to be taken away from this game. Not one, but two members of the town tried a gimmick to bait the night kill, and both ended up getting themselves lynched instead. The claims themselves weren't necessarily bad -- I actually think that Anastasia/Beloved Princess in particular was quite genius, but player behavior ended up putting an unnecessary spotlight on them. As Austin said to me over PM in the middle of the game, "It took me about 10 minutes into my first mafia game to realize that being towny, and having others listen to you, are as important as finding scum." And yeah, I think that pretty much sums it up.
I don't know if the right takeaway here is necessarily to never, ever, do gambits as town, but you have to realize that when you take a gambit, you are assuming the risks that come with it, and you have to be prepared to bare those risks. You can't lie about your character and role and then act righteously indignant when people call you out on it, because your indignance isn't righteous.
Also, ADOL, I know I already said this over PM, but waiving your night action on both nights was just a really terrible decision. The chances of you being alive and able to use your ability during NP4 were very low to begin with. You gotta use your abilities while you still can. I don't want to come off as being overly harsh here -- I think you have the potential to be a good player, but you need to learn how to actually play towards your wincon as town. Getting yourself scumread isn't going to help you. If you want to keep playing, though, I hope you will do so. Just be willing to learn and adapt your playstyle, okay?
I think the scum team did an overall decent job here. MVP goes to Luna, who was the most active player and gave himself a ton of towncred with that Dreamer claim. It was extremely risky, of course, since he had no way of knowing that he wasn't visited on the first night, but it paid off, and the claim itself was really good. I loved the justification, definitely something I would actually use.
WF, you played pretty well as well. You didn't have to do much to take the heat off of you given what else was going on in the town, but you were never a serious potential lynch, and neither were you a serious NK candidate, either. You definitely earned your win as a 3P.
Overall, in terms of balance... I do think this game leaned toward the town overall, but not extremely so. The mafia certainly got lucky, but in a different timeline, it may have been much harder for them to pull off a win.
Once again, congrats to the three winners, and I hope we can all learn something from this game to improve our future games.

This DP will last 72 hours and will end on Thursday the 24th at 4:30 PM EDT, or when a majority vote is reached.
Deceased players:
- Earth - Lynched DP1 - Ivan III (Ivan the Great) - Neighborizer
- Savant - Died NP1 - Sergei Witte - DP2 Emissary
- That2User - Executed DP2 - Grigori Rasputin - White Mage
- Mharman - Died NP2 - Mikhail Gorbachev - Watcher
- ADreamOfLiberty - Lynched DP3 - You are Grigori Potemkin! Potemkin was a military leader and, for a time, lover of Empress Catherine the Great. Potemkin even helped Catherine carry out her coup. Even after their romantic relationship ended, he remained a close friend and ally to her. Allegedly, Potemkin once created a portable fake village to impress the Empress during her journey to Crimea, thus being the source of the term ‘Potemkin village’ - a facade that makes a situation seem better than it is in reality. You are the 2x Asceticizer. Two nights per game, you may target any other player to build a Potemkin village around them as a ruse to frustrate any non-lethal actions used against them by players of a *different* alignment, causing their actions to fail. You win with the Town.
- Vader - Died NP3 - You are Pyotr Stolypin! The third prime minister of Russia, Stolypin was known for his agrarian reforms, which transformed the way farm ownership worked, introduced agricultural cooperatives, and made it easier for peasants to purchase their own farms. While these reforms were effective, Stolypin also served during a time of revolutionary unrest, leading to his assassination in 1911. Because Stolypin instituted reforms that greatly increased the productivity of Russian agriculture, you are the Fruit Vendor. Once per night, you may give a piece of fruit to any other player. This has no effect on gameplay, except that your target will be told that they have received a piece of fruit (but not who gave it to them). You win with the Town.
Living players:

- whiteflame

I started this one slightly early. This DP will last 72 hours and will end at 9:00 PM EDT on Tuesday the 22nd, or when a majority vote is reached.
Deceased players:
- Earth - Lynched DP1 - Ivan III (Ivan the Great) - Neighborizer
- Savant - Died NP1 - Sergei Witte - DP2 Emissary
- That2User - Executed DP2 - You are Grigori Rasputin! Born to a peasant family in Siberia, Rasputin had a sudden religious awakening in adulthood and became an ascetic traveler, gaining much fame and notoriety. His fame eventually reached Moscow and spread to the royal family who invited him in, hopeful that he could heal their son who, unbeknownst to the public, was a hemophiliac. As the famous song goes, 'For the queen, he was no wheeler-dealer, though she'd heard the things he'd done. She believed he was a holy healer who would heal her son.' Because of Rasputin's status as a mystic faith healer with outsized political influence, you are the White Mage. During the night phase, you may target any player to protect them from lethal night actions on that night, as well as during the following night. You may not use your ability two nights in a row. You will not be told if your action fails. You win with the Town.
- Mharman - Died NP2 - You are Mikhail Gorbachev! As leader of the Soviet Union, Gorbachev promoted two big policies, Glasnost (openness) and Perestroika (restructuring), advertising them almost as if they were own personal trademarks. However, his policies ultimately led to the breakup of the USSR. Because of Gorbachev’s focus on increased government transparency (Glasnost), you are the Watcher. Once per night, you may target any player to learn who, if anyone, used an action on them during the night (other than yourself). You win with the Town.
Living players:

This DP will last 72 hours and will end on Saturday the 19th at 11:00 PM EDT, or when a majority vote is reached.
Deceased Players:
- Earth - Lynched DP1 - You are Ivan III, aka Ivan the Great! Ivan III was the first person in Russian history to bear the title of ‘Tsar’, and reigned as Tsar for longer than any other monarch in Russian history except for his grandson, Ivan IV. As Tsar, Ivan III ended the dominance of the Tatars over Russia and brought other lands into his territory through purchase and conquest. Because of how Ivan consolidated power and brought more people and territory under Russian control, you may add more people to your own neighborhood. You are the Neighborizer. Once per night, you may target any other player to add them to your own Neighborhood, a private chat where every member can directly talk with each other as long as they are alive. You win with the Town.
- Savant - Died NP1 - You are Sergei Witte! Previously a skillful diplomat who helped negotiate an end to the Russo-Japanese War, Witte became the first prime minister of Russia after advising the Tsar to move towards constitutional monarchy in the wake of the 1905 revolution. Witte knew it was the only way to quell the revolutionary masses, though he did not believe it would serve as a long-term solution for Russia's issues. Because of Witte's history as a diplomat and his strategy as prime minister of trying to avoid war, you are the DP2 Emissary. At the start of DP2, the name of a randomly chosen Town-affiliated player will be revealed to you. You win with the Town.

Здравствуйте и добро пожаловать в Русскую Мафию! As is typical, each DP will last 72 hours, or until a majority of players have voted have placed their vote on the same player (or voted to no-lynch). If the DP times out without a majority being reached, the day will end without a lynch.
Rules:
- No copy-pasting your role PM or pretending to do so. Paraphrase it instead.
- No use of generative AI to paraphrase your role PM for you.
- No editing or deleting posts.
- No conversing about the game outside of the DP threads or any approved chats.
- No liking posts after dying.
- No ciphers or cryptography.
- I reserve the right to add in additional rules as necessary to keep the game fair.
Additional Information:
- All characters in this game are real people from Russian/Soviet history. There is a theme split, meaning that all mafia characters have something in common not shared by any of the town characters. There is a fakeclaim mechanic in play, as well.
- There may or may not be mechanics in play which punish claiming characters and/or roles, so claim at your own risk!
- The town wins when all threats to the town are eliminated. The mafia wins if, at the start or end of any game phase, the number of living mafia players is greater than or equal to the number of living non-mafia players. There may also be one or more third party players in the game, in which case they will have their own unique win conditions and may either joint win with another team or win independently.
- Your role PM may refer to MYLO/LYLO. MYLO is when the number of living town players outnumbers the mafia by only two players; LYLO is when the town outnumbers the mafia by only one. (Third parties are counted with town for the purposes of determining parity and MYLO/LYLO.) Votes are locked in at LYLO, meaning that once a vote is cast on a LYLO day, it cannot be removed or changed to another player, so be careful! I will announce when a day is a MYLO/LYLO day. Any and all remaining voting/lynching roles will be deactivated on MYLO/LYLO days.
- This is a "role madness" game, meaning that most, if not all players have a role other than Vanilla Town/Mafia Goon.
- I will not answer questions in-thread, except to give a time check or a vote count. Please direct all other questions to me over PM. Generally speaking, I will not answer questions about roles other than your own. This includes questions about hypothetical roles. Questions about 'flipped roles', on the other hand, are generally okay.

Thanks to Austin for helping me with the setup for this game! The theme for this one will be Russian history -- all characters will be figures from Russian/Soviet history.
I know this is difficult these days, but I designed this game for 11 people, and I would really like to fill up all 11 spots if possible. Tell your friends!
Also, I'm instituting a new rule/mechanic that I've seen used elsewhere: votes are locked in at LYLO. Once you cast your vote, you can't take it back. Basically, it prevents the town from trying to bait the mafia into quickvoting and "solving" the game that way instead of actually solving it. I will announce when the game is at LYLO and remind everyone of the rule.

1st place: Town (Pie, Savant, Lunatic, Austin, Barney, Casey, That2)
2nd place: Mafia (Vader, WyIted)
Night Actions (NP1):
Casey Doctored Luna (automatically silenced by PBO)
Austin Followed Vader
That2 Tracked Casey
Vader Tailored Barney for Cop flip
Vader NK'd Barney
So... huh. This was going to get pretty crazy based on how things were set to play out. Barney wasn't aware of it, but he was a Hidden Sleepwalker, and RNG had him visiting Luna, so both Casey and Barney would have been Silenced if the latter hadn't been NK'd. Was interested to see how the PBO would work out, but things came to a head early in DP2 with Austin's result.
I do think the Follower in particular made this a kind of swingy game and this game certainly swung on it. If not for that result, I think Vader could have survived significantly longer and made more use of his varied roles. Scum had a lot of counters to the Follower - part of the point of having the Tailor in play for them was to give them cover if the Follower visited them, giving a different result that could uphold their claim - but I understand why they wouldn't have bet on Austin using it on Vader in NP1. I also aimed to give some villainous characters out to town to throw people a bit, and Drolta in particular was meant to be a stretch for town to buy along with Isaac (who was in this game - that was Pie's character).
As for claims, yeah, I do think it was risky for WyIted to go with the Captain who was by far the most minor character claim in the batch. The Miller was a risky gambit, but it could have paid off assuming it didn't become clear that there were two investigative roles already in play. The more surprising choice was to not just straight up claim Alucard. The split, if it isn't obvious, was the Tepes family vs. everyone, but I'm not convinced that would have been obvious even with the Dracula flip. I did let scum know that there wasn't a Cop in the game (I only let them ask about one role in return) because of the nature of the Tailor role I gave them (it could only modify roles, not affiliations - I felt like saying it could Tailor affiliation too would give them the impression that there was a Cop in the game, so I chose to put my thumb on the scale a bit instead).
It was a quick game, but oh well, I had fun making it and seeing everything come together. It was great revisiting all the quotes from the show. I promise I'll do this again sometime. Thanks again to Mharman for all his help designing the game, and I welcome any and all feedback on the design and execution.

Onward to DP2!
Lynched:
WyIted - You are Vlad “Dracula” Tepes! The central antagonist of the first two seasons of Castlevania and one of the most powerful vampires around, Dracula rained fiery hell down on the people of Targoviste for burning his wife at the stake as a witch before turning his gaze to the rest of humankind. Despite his crusade to end humanity for taking the love of his life, Dracula became one of the most sympathetic characters in the show as you watch a man deal with his grief in what his son Alucard describes as “history’s longest suicide note.” You are the Killing JOAT! Loved (permanently active until MYLO/LYLO): You require one extra vote to be eliminated than would otherwise normally be needed to achieve majority. In addition, you may use one of the following roles per NP. 2x Ninja: You are able to perform night actions without being detected as visiting others.2x Strongman: You have immunity against your night kill being manipulated or protected against. You win with the Mafia.
Died in the Night:
Barney - You are Saint Germaine! You come onto the scene as a normal human seeking information on the Infinite Corridor, a gateway to other dimensions into which he lost his partner before the events of the series. After getting lost in the Corridor, you are found and manipulated by the mysterious Alchemist into committing unspeakable acts, only to discover that it was in fact Death himself using him to return an ultimate evil to this world. Because of your attunement to the unseen and can discover disturbances that others overlook by glimpsing shadows, you are the Cop. Each night you may select one person to target. You will learn there affiliation. You win with the town.
- Casey has been SILENCED! They may vote up to three times today, but may not post otherwise.
Remaining Players:
1. Pie
2. Savant
3. Lunatic
4. Austin
5. Vader
6. Casey
7. That2/Owen
With 7 alive, it takes 4 votes to lynch. The DP ends Saturday, March 29 @ 10 PM EST.

Welcome to Castlevania Mafia! This game is based off of the animated series Castlevania and Castlevania: Nocturne by Clive Bradley. I've never played the games these were based on (I imagine a lot of the same background information is used for these series), but I decided to start watching this series around 2018 and I haven't been able to put it down since. There is some incredible fight animation in this series and surprisingly strong characters and narratives to boot. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested.
As for this game, yes, there is a theme split. After some consideration, I've decided that Mafia will be given the same opportunity that they've received a lot in recent games: they will learn of two roles and two characters over the course of the first DP with regards to their presence in the game. I will do my best to answer any questions beyond that, which can be posed to me by PM or publicly. I will try to post vote counts often over the course of each DP.
Going to stick to some pretty basic rules (just stealing these from Pie):
1) No editing or deleting posts of any kinds
2) No copy/pasting your role PM (please paraphrase)
3) No cryptography of any kind
4) No communication outside of the mafia game
5) No liking/upvoting posts after you die
6) No using ChatGPT/AI to paraphrase your PM
And, same as him, I reserve the right to add rules as necessary.
All DPs will be 72 hours and NPs 24 hours unless the NP ends with everyone submitting actions earlier.
Remaining Players:
1. Pie
2. Savant
3. Lunatic
4. Austin
5. Vader
6. Barney
7. Casey
8. That2
9. WyIted
With 9 players alive, it takes 5 votes to lynch. This DP will end Wednesday March 26th at 8:30pm EST. Ready, steady, go.

Alright, first shot at making a game. Thanks to Mharman for all his help with the design.
This game is based off of the Castevania animated TV series and will include characters from the four seasons of the mainline show as well as characters from the follow-on Castlevania: Nocturne. I only have limited knowledge of the games and that won't feature here. Might be a bit before I start since I'm still working on elements of the design, but might as well get the sign-ups going.

MAFIA WINS
Characters/Roles:
MAFIA:
Whiteflame - You are Faked Evidence! This might just be the worst part of competitive debate. Whether it’s exaggerating a statistic, swapping one source for another, or even just outright lying, I’ve seen countless teams fake evidence just to try and win. Of course, it’s only a good strategy if you can get away with it...
Because faked evidence uses misinformation as a winning strategy, you are the Tailor! Each night, choose a player (living or dead). For the purposes of investigations, they will show as the opposite alignment that they actually are. Only one player can be tailored at a time (i.e. tailoring a new player will make the previous target investigate normally).
You win with the mafia.
Bullish - You are Card Clipping! In competitive debate, debaters typically send a written copy of their speech to their opponents (and judge) when they begin reading it, in order to show that their evidence is legitimate. Unfortunately, some unscrupulous debaters put additional arguments into their speech document that they don’t actually read out loud, in order to trick the judge into thinking they read more arguments than they actually did. This practice is known as “card clipping”, and is incredibly difficult to catch in a fast-paced round.
Because card clipping obscures your true argumentation ability, you are the 1-shot Vote Hider! Once per game, choose a match. The votes of all players will be obscured if the votes of that match are revealed. Note that you must choose to do this BEFORE the match ends.
You win with the mafia.
Owen - You are Time Stealing! Time stealing is the practice of deliberately stalling a match through various tactics in order to gain additional time to research and rebut your opponent’s arguments. These tactics include taking a phone call, going to the bathroom, arguing over technicalities in the rulebook, and asking your opponent to provide their sources one by one.
Because time stealing gives you extra time to check your notes to formulate a better argument and reply, and stalls out the round, you are the Rolecop-Treestump. Each night, choose a player. You will receive their full role PM at the end of the night. In addition, if you ever die, you will continue to be able to talk in thread for the rest of the day.
You win with the mafia.
(Factional mechanics):
Factional information: You are informed that there exists at least one role in the game capable of checking the composition of votes. You are informed that there exists at least one role in the game capable of finding the alignment of dead players.
The following characters do not exist in the game:
-Resolution
-Turn
-Link
-Affirmative/Negative
-Counterplan
-Theory
-Cross-Examination
-Spreading
-Turn
-Link
-Affirmative/Negative
-Counterplan
-Theory
-Cross-Examination
-Spreading
-Paraphrasing
The following roles, or ones very similar, do not exist in the game:
-Sensor
-Sensor
-Communicative roles
-Blocking/Interference Roles
-Blocking/Interference Roles
Factional ability: Disconnecting an Unattended Laptop’s Charger– One night per game, choose a player. If you successfully guess their character, then they will be turned into a vanilla townie, which will take effect at the end of the night (i.e. after all other actions are processed). They will be informed of this.
TOWN:
Lunatic - You are Weighing! Weighing is a debate strategy where you argue why your impacts (i.e. the expected outcome of your plan) is more convincing than your opponent – generally on one of three metrics; magnitude (how major your impacts are); probability (how likely your impacts are); and timeframe (how soon your impacts happen).
As such, because weighing uses three different metrics as part of a winning strategy, you are the town JOAT. Each night, you can use one of the following abilities. Because weighing usually prioritizes one type of metric over another, the multiple values in slashes indicate the effect if used on N1, N2, and N3 respectively.
-Magnitude: Increase a single player’s voting power by 3/2/1 votes for the next day. They will not be informed of this. This will not take effect if used on a mafia member.
-Probability: Choose a player. If that player would otherwise be eliminated the next day, there is a 100/67/33% chance the result will be reversed.
-Timeframe: Choose two players. You will investigate them the night after to see if they are the same alignment or not (e.g. if you use this N1, you will receive a result N2).
You win when the last player alive is town.
Savant - You are Disclosure! Disclosure is a debate practice in which a team makes their arguments publicly available before the round. The idea of this is to promote a norm where teams try to focus on running the best possible arguments in round, rather than running sketchy arguments solely for surprise value. Although disclosure is risky, judges typically look positively on it, potentially making the trade-off worth it.
Because you disclose arguments at significant risk to yourself, you are the Vote Oracle. If you ever die, the players voting on your wagon will immediately be revealed.
You win when the last player alive is town.
Earth - You are the Ballot! The ballot is the final vote that a judge submits every round. It contains the vote result, as well as an RfD (reason for decision). Generally, ballots are non-anonymous, meaning that anyone spectating the tournament can view them.
Because you are a public vote, you are the 2-shot Vote Revealer. Twice per game, at any point during the day or night, you may choose a completed match and view the exact composition of players who voted each side.
You win when the last player alive is town.
Vader/Barney - You are Solvency! Solvency is a fundamental concept in debate that relates to how well a side’s proposal (or plan) solves a known problem in the world. Almost all arguments in debate fundamentally relate to proving your own solvency and refuting your opponent’s solvency.
Because solvency dictates the overarching strategy of the round, you are the Strategist. At the end of D1, the list of pairings will be released. You may swap two players, as well as dictate the ordering of the matches.
You win when the last player alive is town.
Wylted - You are Topicality! Topicality is a concept used in debate that relates to whether a side’s proposal is relevant to the topic. Topicality is incredibly useful because if you prove your opponent’s arguments are irrelevant, it doesn’t matter how well-sourced and convincing they are.
Just like how topicality dictates whether an argument is even relevant to the topic, you have the ability to find out whether town’s past play is relevant to its win condition (eliminating the mafia). Thus, you are the 2-shot Gravedigger. Twice per game, at any point during the day or night, you may choose a dead player and find our their alignment, role name, and character name. (You will not receive their full role PM.)
You win when the last player alive is town.
Casey - You are Kritiks! Kritiks are a type of debate argument which aim to fundamentally challenge assumptions about the topic. For example, if your opponent argues that their plan improves the economy, you could Kritik their plan by arguing that capitalism is inherently a flawed system.
Kritiks are a double-edged strategy, but when used successfully, they literally take away the very ground of your opponent’s argument, leaving the judge with no room to vote them. As such, you are the Vote Thief. Each night, you may steal someone’s vote (living or dead) and use it for yourself the next day. They will not be informed their vote was stolen.
You win when the last player alive is town.
Pie - You are the Framework! Frameworks are a type of debate argument which aims to dictate by what metric the round ought to be judged. For example, one simple framework is utilitarianism – i.e, whichever side does more good than harm, on balance, is superior.
A good framework can swing a round – if you convince the judge that your framework should be accepted, then that gives you room to invalidate your opponent’s arguments on the basis of their value, rather than their factual accuracy.
Because of this, you are the D2+ Doublevoter. Starting from Day 2, you have one more vote than normal.
You win when the last player alive is town.

Welcome to Debate Mafia! Please read the OP carefully.
Reminders for this day phase:
You have two separate votes; one to nominate a player, and one to eliminate a player. You can have two standing votes at the same time. Please make it clear which vote you are casting. Ambiguous votes will not be counted, and I will try my best to tag you to correct them.
A typical votecount would look like this:
Nomination:Player1: Player2, Player 3Player4: Player5
Elimination:Player 5: Player2, Player3Player4: Player1
Rules:
1. Do not copy-paste your role PM. Paraphrasing is fine, but avoid doing so in such a way that allows speculation on the structure/formatting of the PMs.
2. Do not edit or delete posts.
3. Do not communicate outside of the thread or approved chats (cryptography and liking posts are also not allowed).
4. Be nice to each other. Some banter is fine, but don't derail things with personal attacks.
5. Respect the spirit of the rules. Pretending to break a rule will be treated similarly to actually breaking it.
Setup Info:
This setup has unique elimination, voting, and flip mechanics.
VOTING: Players STILL VOTE AFTER THEY DIE. See below for more details.
FLIPS: This game is FLIPLESS. When players are eliminated, neither their character, role, or alignment will be flipped.
ELIMINATIONS:
On Day 1 (which will be 72 hours long), players will vote to ELIMINATE one player and NOMINATE one player. You will have separate but simultaneous votes for eliminations and nominations. The day will end when both votes have reached a majority, or the deadline has been reached. If the deadline has been reached without a majority, then whoever has the most votes will be chosen. In the event of a tie, mafia privately pick who wins the tie. This vote will be public.
The eliminated player will die.
There is no Night 1 kill, but there will still be a night phase.
On Day 2, 8 players (everyone except the nominated player) will be seeded into a knockout bracket, with 4 total matches.
Every 24 hours, a match will commence between two players. During the match, players (both living and dead) will PRIVATELY submit votes on which of the two players they want eliminated. At the end of the 24-hour period, whoever has more votes will die. Alternatively, the match will end early if enough players submit a FINAL vote (which cannot be changed once submitted) to unavoidably decide the match.
This will repeat until all matches in the Round of 8 have finished.
On Night 2, mafia will submit a nightkill. The nightkill will unavoidably go through. If the nightkilled player is not the nominated player, then the nominated player will take their place in the following Round of 4. Otherwise, nothing will happen other than a normal kill.
Day 3 will work like Day 2, except with 4 players (and 2 matches), as well as 48-hour long matches.
There is no Night 3 kill, but there will still be a night phase.
Day 4 will work like Day 3, except with 2 players (and 1 match), as well as a 72-hour long match.
If the last player alive is mafia, then mafia wins. If the last player alive is town, then town wins. No other win conditions exist. There is no third party.

I will only answer questions via PM. Generally, I will only give answers to questions regarding public info or your own role.

Welcome to Debate Mafia! This game will feature experimental mechanics, meaning mechanics unlikely to have been seen in previous games.
All public mechanics will be clearly stated in the day 1 OP, and no private mechanics will lead to moderator lies that cannot be reasonably anticipated (e.g. Godfather is fine, giving someone a secret wincon is not).
The game will obviously be themed around debate. There will be a themesplit, as well as a fakeclaim mechanic that only scum will know.
Game will start when filled, likely Thursday night at the earliest. I have designed it for 9, but it can run with up to 12.
Standard rules apply. Be nice to each other.

Role - Casey you win with town. Your character is "activism is easy". Your role is activist. Once per game you can stop a lynch and force the DP to restart. That player becomes unlynchable. Your diary entry follows in the next post
character- The activist is in an easy position that is unfair to the average policy maker. The activist gets to propose stupid policy positions that sound good but never has to take responsibility for the results. [[Israel vs Hamas Debate]]
These activists the ones leading the charge and also the most easily influenced, also seem to have no problem promoting policies that harm people in higher crime areas by pushing to keep prison sentences short. Savant-
Role- ???????????????
Character- Israel's suspicious activity during 9-11
journal entry- The dancing Israeli’s refers to an incident that happened on 9/11, just prior to and after the attack on the twin towers. Here is a summary of how these men were discovered after the attacks.
> _A Mossad "surveillance team" made quite a public spectacle of themselves on 9-11._
>
> _The men set up cameras by the Hudson River and trained them on the twin towers._
>
> _Police received several calls from angry New Jersey residents claiming "middle-eastern" men with a white van were videotaping the disaster with shouts of joy and mockery. (HA'ARETZ 9/17/01)_
>
> _"They were like happy, you know … They didn't look shocked to me" said a witness._
>
> _[T]hey were seen by New Jersey residents on Sept. 11 making fun of the World Trade Center ruins and going to extreme lengths to photograph themselves in front of the wreckage. (_[_AP and GI_](http://www.todayscatholicworld.com/dancing4.htm)_)_
>
> _Witnesses saw them jumping for joy in Liberty State Park after the initial impact. Later on, other witnesses saw them celebrating on a roof in Weehawken, and still more witnesses later saw them celebrating with high fives in a Jersey City parking lot. (Yediot America 11/2/01)_
>
>
>
> _The FBI sent out an alert to area cops, reading: "Vehicle possibly related to New York terrorist attack . . . Three individuals with van were seen celebrating after initial impact and subsequent explosion." (_[_New York Post_](http://www.todayscatholicworld.com/dancing6.htm)_)_
>
> _"It looked like they're hooked in with this. It looked like they knew what was going to happen when they were at Liberty State Park." (_[_The Record N.J. News_](http://www.todayscatholicworld.com/dancing5.htm)_)_
These men were arrested and held for about 6 months. At least 2 of them were discovered to be Mossad agents (Israeli spies). They originally just claimed to be tourists, until Israel begged for their release. [http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article44477.htm](http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article44477.htm)
Later on an Israeli talkshow, when they were asked why they came to the United States, they said they came to document 9/11, which means they must have had knowledge it was going to happen. [http://www.fpp.co.uk/online/02/06/Israel/spies7.html](http://www.fpp.co.uk/online/02/06/Israel/spies7.html)
Pictures of the dancing Israelis can be found here after a foia release. Conveniently their faces are erased from the photos, so we can’t see the happy expressions witnesses mentioned. [https://dancingisraelis.com/](https://dancingisraelis.com/)
Why would Mossad agents be parked close by watching the twin towers and celebrating after the attack. Why would they tell reporters that they were there to document 9/11? Why did they refuse to say if they were on a mission from Mossad and what it was, after asked by American interviewers?
-------------------------------------------------
Employees of the Israeli owned instant messaging company [Odigo received texts](https://www.haaretz.com/1.5410231) warning of an imminent attack on the Twin Towers two hours before the attacks happened. A secure service used by Mossad. Who in Israel knew of the attacks 2 hours prior?
----------------------------------
-------------------------
Israel literally warned the U.S. of imminent attacks. It’s true. The biggest reason we know they had foreknowledge is because they quite literally warned the United States government about an impending attack on the twin towers.
Early in August Israel warns the United States
> “50 to 200 al-Qaeda terrorists are inside the US and planning an imminent "major assault on the US" aimed at a "large scale target"
>
>
Later the same month they send another warning saying the following
> “Israel gives the US a list of 19 terrorists inside the US planning an imminent attack, the list names at least four of the hijackers, including Mohamed Atta, Nawaf Alhazmi, Khalid Almihdhar, Marwan Alshehhi”
It is likely that Israel was very vulnerable to terrorism, so they had extremely good intelligence prior to 9/11. The recent attack by Hamas among many other attacks are evidence of why Israeli intelligence would need to be so aggressive about tracking and monitoring radical Islamic elements. The NPC, rarely realizes the harm he causes. Perhaps they become vegetarians, and yet they have no ideal the animals that must die just to keep crops safe from rodents, insects and moles. The normie can be unaware of the harm caused to the world with no issues, but also may realize the harm and easily accept it. Among these groups of people the psychopath stands out. These are NPCs who lack the ability to feel empathy for the most part, but will often pretend to have deep empathy to climb to the top of a type of sick social game. Being a conservative does not really lend itself well to climbing social hierarchies and so the easy thing to do is to just fake concern for some social cause. We know it is fake concern because often these individuals will promote solutions that make the problem worse, while the solution from the right side of the political aisle will actually be effective. Or sometimes they just invent problems whole cloth and pretend they are real to have a never ending war on some stupid shit.

Greyparrot - You are a sniper! You are a common weapon in video games that can scope out the enemy for information, and dispose of enemies from afar, no matter how defensive their cover fire is. Sometimes, just the threat of the snipe keeps opponents pinned behind cover and unable to move.
You are a JOAT (1x Strongman, 2x Rolecop, 2x Car Thief). The strongman grants you the ability to break through any protections a townie might have. The rolecop allows you to investigate townies and learn their roles. The Car Thief ability allows you to take a commuter’s car for yourself, while leaving them vulnerable- meaning they cannot be protected.
You win with the mafia.
Casey - You are a shotgun! You are a common weapon incentivizing players to sneak to a corner and wait for an unsuspecting opponent to walk into their one-tap. Sometimes, just the known presence of a shotgun in a room scares enemies away, allowing you to keep an area on lockdown.
You are a JOAT (1x Ninja, 2x Hider, 2x Rolestopper). The ninja grants you the ability to carry out night kills undetected. The hider allows you to hide behind another player- if that player is scum you will die, but if that player is town, any night actions targeting you will target them- however, if that player dies, you do too. The Rolestopper grants you the ability to select another player to be protected from all night actions.
You win with the mafia.
Faction Perk: Multitasker- Each player can use two different abilities in their kit at once. Key word: Different.
Hint: All of town’s characters are mechanics in shooter games- not guns!
Fakeclaim help: Your team has the ability to check two shooter game mechanics for possible characters, plus two PRs. You will be told whether or not they are in the game.
Town
Savant - You are Minimap Dots! You are a mechanic that displays a dot on the minimap, telling the player the location of gunfire.
You are a 2x Watcher! You have the ability to select a player. You will view who visited that player that night.
You win with the town.
Pie - You are Deployable Cover! You are a mechanic allowing players to defend themselves in the event they get caught out in the open.
You are a 2x Doctor! You may select a player each night, and protect them from lethal night actions.
You win with the town.
Vader - You are the Killcam! You are a mechanic allowing players to see from the eyes of the opponent who killed them. Everytime a player dies, a killcam is to follow.
You are a Gravedigger! Each night, you will passively appear to visit any player that died in the night.
You win with the town.
Whiteflame - You are Vehicles! You are a mechanic allowing players to take control of you and move around the map at a faster pace (usually).
You are a 2x Commuter. Each night, you have the option to leave town, making yourself immune to all actions (including lethal ones) for the night.
You win with the town.
Austin - You are Map Objectives! You are a mechanic controlling preventing players from roaming a little too far around the map, thus directing the game flow.
You are a Compulsive Roleblocker! Each night, you must select a player. That player will be prevented using their night action. Upon failing to submit a night action, a random player will be chosen. If that random player if mafia, the roleblock will fail. If a random player is selected, you will not be told who. If you select a player, your roleblock will function as normal.
You win with the town.
Lunatic - You are Splash Damage! You are a mechanic allowing damage to be dealt to players without a direct hit. Sometimes from a player launched or thrown projectile, and sometimes from objects around the map; you are often used by players who are guessing where an opponent is, because they are looking to avoid waiting for an enemy peak.
You are a 1x Bookie. You may guess a player. If that player is lynched the next day, you will be granted a vigilante ability you may use the following night only.
You win with the town.
Wylted - You are cosmetics! You are somewhat of a game mechanic, but you usually have no bearing on the gameplay. Whether it’s a skin, a gun wrap, or an emote, you do add to the style of the game though.
You are a Vanilla! You have no abilities.
You win with the town.
Class Perk: Disciplined- Avoiding the wagon on the day of a mislynch, or being the hammer on a correct wagon makes your next night’s ability guaranteed to succeed.

Balance
This was my first attempt at a role madness game. I think I did good overall on setup- although o probably should’ve let most of town’s role be unlimited usage. It probably would’ve encouraged Casey to use more of her resources throughout the Night Phases.
Maybe bump up the bookie to two guesses, although I’m not sure. Bookie in particular isn’t that great for 9-player games, but I figured I could get away with it here cause basically everything else in the setup does nerf it pretty hard, including the limited usage. It isnt as fun though bc of the limited usage.
Other than that I think I cooked. I’m pretty happy with the results as a whole.
———————————————
Fun fact: Casey wasn’t even trying to hard bus Greyparrot. It was a distancing play gone wrong and town just gave out free town cred for it.
Anyway, outside of the setup, I think there’s two key takeaways: 1. Behavior is king. 2. High risk play from scum can easily backfire, even if it initially succeeds.

WHO WON? YOU DECIDED:
IT'S A MAFIA VICTORY!
Mafia: Lunatic, whiteflame
Third Party: Redeemed/iamanabanana
This game was so boring... until the inactive players got replaced, that is. After that, it quickly became wildly interesting. Tbh, I was a bit worried that the game may have been too townsided at the start. The town had a decent amount of investigative power between Austin's Lie Detector and Wylted's Dreamer, plus there was the Informed Earth, and Savant's Jailkeeper had the potential to cause the mafia team some real trouble as well. The Bookie and PGO did add some swinginess to the game, but I still felt like it was more likely to swing against scum than town.
WF and Luna ended up getting super lucky, though. Earth was a good DP1 mislynch for the mafia and Savant jailing Austin was a game-changing move. Lunatic claiming Justice ended up being probably the most fortuitous fakeclaim I've ever seen. So many players thought that Luna was basically town-confirmed after Banana outed herself as third party, and I don't think I saw anyone consider that WF and Luna might have been on a team together.
With all that being said, the mafia's victory can in no way be attributed merely to luck. The scum team made excellent use of their night actions. Silencing Wylted twice in a row ended up being a fantastic strategy, as it prevented anyone from realizing that he was actually a Dreamer, which probably helped Austin become the final mislynch. Killing Pie first was also a bold tactic that paid off incredibly well.
I think this game, as well as the last one I modded, provides a couple lessons for the town. First, make sure you read your role PMs carefully. Earth, if you had stated that your justification involved the "standing on the shoulders of giants" line, and you had correctly stated that you'd receive the information on DP2, not DP3, it might have saved you. It also might not have, but who knows? It could have prevented a mislynch.
Second, don't be hasty to vote at MYLO/LYLO. Banana, I know you're still relatively new to this game, so I really can't judge you too harshly. I made more or less the same mistake in my first game on here. But what Luna said is true: the mafia can easily quickhammer at MYLO/LYLO if town votes for town. Granted, he was scum, but it's also genuinely good advice. Also, in the off-chance that you ever get Prophet again, wait until the flip at the end of DP1 before making your prediction. :)
Really, though, I feel like Wylted is probably the one who deserves more criticism for his vote at MYLO, but I know he'll probably just say that Austin was "obviously scummy" and not learn anything from it, so I won't bother.
Savant, you had a good read on Luna at the beginning, but didn't commit to it. I totally understand that, I never know how to tell when I'm onto something vs just tunneling on somebody. But Austin was right: you should use your Jailkeeper ability on strong scumreads or strong townreads, rarely the folks in between. If you had used your ability on Luna instead, the game would have gone in a very different direction, and the town would have had a MUCH better chance of winning.
In the end, I hope you all had fun as much fun playing this game as I had modding it. Again, well done to the scum team, you two did excellent!

This DP will last 72 hours and will end on Monday, February 3 at 9:30 AM EST.
Deceased players:
- Earth - Lynched DP1 - Albert Einstein vs Stephen Hawking - Informed Townie
- ILikePie5 - Died NP1 - Eastern Philosophers vs Western Philosophers - Even-Night Paranoid Gun Owner
- Savant - Executed DP2 - You are Jack the Ripper vs Hannibal Lecter! "Oi mate, pass the liquor, it's Jack the Ripper, Jack the Rapper, following you way before the dawn of Twitter. I'm a human trigger warning, through the night until the morning. When the light shines upon my crimes, you find it sick, appalling." This rap battle features the talented Dan Bull as Jack the Ripper, a great performance by Epic Lloyd as Hannibal Lecter, and a killer soundtrack. Hannibal the Cannibal plays his psychological games with Jack, but the Ripper still has one retort: Hannibal got locked up, while he was never caught. You are the Jailkeeper. Once per night, you may jail any player, protecting them from lethal night actions, but also preventing them from using any active abilities. You win with the Town.
- Greyparrot - Died NP2 - You are Steve Jobs vs Bill Gates! "Let me just step right in, I got things to invent. I'm an innovator, baby, change the world. Fortune 500 ‘fore you kissed a girl. I'm a pimp, you're a nerd, I'm slick, you're cheesy, beating you is Apple II easy!" This classic battle pits the two tech titans against each other to answer the age-old question: Mac or PC? Halfway through the battle, however, Jobs disappears into the afterlife, but lives on in the form of the supercomputer HAL 9000. You are the Millionaire. If you die before the end of the game, you may leave a message for the town to see at the beginning of the next DP. You win with the Town.

Hawking threatens to drop mad apples on Einstein’s head, though Einstein retorts that he’s the genius Hawking would be standing on – if he could stand. You, however, will be standing on my shoulders, as you are the Informed Townie. You will receive important information about this game not privy to the other members of the town at the beginning of DP2. You win with the Town.
- ILikePie5 - You are Eastern Philosophers vs Western Philosophers! "I'm coming off the Acropolis to start some pandemonium. Don't bring limp raps to a pimp slap symposium." https://youtu.be/0N_RO-jL-90 This rap battle is a team battle, Socrates, Nietzsche, and Voltaire vs Lao Tzu, Sun Tzu, and Confucius. However, Sun Tzu manages to use his tactics to turn the westerners against each other, only for his team to immediately dissolve into infighting as well. Because of the way everyone turns on each other, you are the Even-Night Paranoid Gun Owner. On even-numbered nights, anyone who targets you with any action will be passively killed by you. You win with the Town.

EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY
THE TOWN
VERSUS
THE MAFIAAAAAAAAAA
BEGIN!
I did say that I would start this game in the morning, but since I've already sent out all the role PM's, I figured that I may as well start this thread. Since I am starting it early and at night when I don't expect many players to be on, this DP will be given a one-time 12 hour extension.
This is a 10-player game with 2 mafia players. All characters are battles from the Epic Rap Battles of History series. There is a theme split. Day phases will last 72 hours or until a majority of players vote for someone, or a majority vote to lynch no one (VTNL). If no majority is reached by the end of the day, there will be no lynch. Night phases will last 24 hours each. If you have a night action and do not submit it in time, you will automatically waive your action. If you cannot waive, your action will be chosen for you at random.

- I reserve the right to add in additional rules as necessary to keep the game fair.
I will not answer questions in-thread, except to give a vote count or a time check. Please direct all other questions to me over PM. Generally speaking, I won't answer questions about roles other than your own. However, questions about flipped roles are generally okay.

- whiteflame
- Lunatic

- Egos-platiniums-locos
- WyIted

EPIC RAP BATTLES OF HISTORY
THE TOWN
VERSUS
THE MAFIA!
Epic Rap Battles of History, if you haven't heard of it before, is a long-running series on YouTube created by Nice Peter and epicLLOYD. Each episode features, you guessed it, a rap battle, usually between two historical figures, though occasionally pop culture icons are used instead. Sometimes a battle will have a surprise third verse by a new participant. Many special guest stars have featured in various rap battles throughout the series, and ERB has spawned many imitators.
Each character in this game will be a battle from the series. As with the last game I hosted, I will allow the scum team to ask if two roles and two characters (battles) are in the game at any point during DP1. This will be a game for 9-10 people. I am going to have someone review my setup before I start the game -- I've learned my lesson from last time. That being said, I think my setup is fairly well-balanced, so there shouldn't be much, if any delay between us getting to the necessary amount of players and the game starting.
I will allow 48 hours from me posting this thread to see if we can get to 10 players.

With the concession of the last member of the Mafia, the Town has won!
The already-deceased:
Greyparrot (Town Treestump)
Casey (Town Nightmarish God)
WyIted (Town Miller + Neighborizer)
Earth (Town Odd Night Doctor)
Casey's full role is flipped:
You are The Downward Spiral! https://open.spotify.com/album/7a7arAXDE0BiaMgHLhdjGF?si=gS9WxzqhTGqsd6BAuM7ypQ
This 1994 album, released by the Nine Inch Nails, reflects, well, a downward spiral. The mentality of the "main character" of the album gets worse and worse throughout, eventually ending in his suicide. He suffers from increasingly harmful delusions. As a result, you are the Town Nightmarish God.
Your goal is to eliminate all Mafia-aligned players and any other players who wish to see the Town lose.
You have the following abilities:
Delusions (Compulsive, 6-shot): You must choose one of the following actions and a target each Night. Each action may only be used once, and you will be informed what each action did afterward.
I am the hate you try to hide (1-shot): For the Day after you use this ability, your target becomes Hated. It takes one less vote than majority to eliminate them. Your target is notified of this status.
I am the silencing machine (1-shot): For the Day after you use this ability, your target may only post 10 times. After their 10th post, the player can only post to change/place votes.
I am the lover in your bed (1-shot): Your target is roleblocked.
I give you all you need to know (1-shot): If your target dies during the Night this is used, their flip will be hidden the next Day. It will be revealed the Day after that.
I am the truth from which you run (1-shot): If your target does not visit anyone during the Night this is used, they will receive a list of two names, at least one of which is guaranteed to be Mafia-aligned.
I am denial, guilt, and fear (1-shot): Your target will not receive any feedback on this Night, except for feedback notifying them of a restriction/requirement for the next Day.
Eliminated Day 3:
Who needs please when we've got guns?
Who needs peace when we've gone above
But beyond where we should have gone?
Lunatic
You are Sleeping Through The Static! https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_krdoBB_U9y3KoTSn_yVT8bsKfB2udhDnM
This 2008 album by Jack Johnson touches on some heavy themes, like climate change and war. It performed very well, setting several records, such as the most iTunes downloads in a single day. One of the major topics in the album is how people will often simply live in willful ignorance of important topics- or "Sleeping Through The Static." Because of the callout of this ignorance, you are the Mafia Feedback Rewriter.
Your goal is to reach parity with Town-aligned players and eliminate any other players who wish to see the Mafia lose.
You have the following abilities. You may use one of your abilities in addition to one Factional ability per Night:
Or You Can Sleep Through The Static (2-shot): Target a player. You will see the feedback they would have received tonight, and may rewrite it however you wish. You cannot remove or alter feedback that would notify your target of a restriction or requirement for their posting the following Day phase.
Conceded:
He was like a flowing wind
He was like a flying kite
Pie
You are 3 Idiots! https://open.spotify.com/album/7shstgp8BAiSrFryJu4K8I
This 2009 Indian dramedy performed extremely well, as the highest-grossing Indian film at the time. But that's the film, what about its soundtrack? The music goes through quite a variety, from the peppy "Aal Izz Well" to the more somber "Behti Hawa Sa Tha Woh." Because of these contrasting songs throughout the soundtrack, you are the Mafia JOAT.
Your goal is to reach parity with Town-aligned players and eliminate any other players who wish to see the Mafia lose.
You have the following abilities. You may use one of your abilities in addition to one Factional ability per Night:
Aal Izz Well (1-shot): If you use this ability, any abilities that target you tonight will fail, giving no feedback.
He Always Made His Own Paths (1-shot): Choose two targets. If the first target tried to visit someone tonight, they will instead visit your second target.
As My Heart Jives Along (3-shot): Target a player. During the next Day, they will be forced to include a snippet (at least eight consecutive words) from a song in their album in one of their posts. If the target's album is not in English, an English translation may be used to satisfy this.
Won:
I'm playful with it, yeah, basically
Too great to mimic, you hate, you're bitter
Mharman
You are Clouds! https://open.spotify.com/album/7eQGtkzCgrIWDOe76E9F8t
This mixtape was released by NF in 2021. Several of the songs throughout are about NF's personal journey in the rap world, along with a narrative called "STORY." Because of the introspection involved in this album, you are the Town Insomniac.
Your goal is to eliminate all Mafia-aligned players and any other players who wish to see the Town lose.
You have the following abilities:
Stick To My Guns, I Don't Even Flinch (Passive): If you are targeted during the Night, you will know who targeted you. You will not be told what they did.
Won:
I am the storm, I am the storm
I am the storm so wait
Whiteflame
You are Beneath the Skin! https://open.spotify.com/album/2mD97VgxTRfwB8F5tvkwrL
This 2015 album was the second album released by Of Monsters and Men. One member of the band talked about how, as their second album together, this one was improved by the band getting to know each other better and being able to get more personal with each other. Because of being able to get "beneath the skin" in such a way, you are the Town Investigative JOAT.
Your goal is to eliminate all Mafia-aligned players and any other players who wish to see the Town lose.
You have the following abilities. You may use one ability per Night:
I See It All So Clear (1-shot): Target a player. You will see the exact text of one ability they use tonight. If they used multiple, you will see the least incriminating one.
I Can See Through You (1-shot): Target a player. You will learn their alignment: Town, Mafia, or Other.
I'll Be The Hunter (1-shot): Target a player. You will be told who, if anyone, they visit tonight.
Won:
People held up the legends of bounty
Reaping the peace that they sowed
Austin
You are PARALLAX! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQzUaZGDJ80&list=PLCGBAij5Y0sRV_X4L2ipSeuQBIS758s2Y
This 2021 album was TheFatRat's first. This album has a lot- a love story, a war, giant mechs... In any case, the climax of the story arrives when the main character finally decides to stop running from a conflict and stand her ground. As a result, you are the Town Non-Consecutive Strengthener.
Your goal is to eliminate all Mafia-aligned players and any other players who wish to see the Town lose.
You have the following abilities:
We Won't Give In (Non-Consecutive, Unlimited use): Target a player during the Night. They cannot be redirected or roleblocked that Night. This ability cannot be used on the same player two Nights in a row.

Greyparrot
You are Minute by Minute! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lyyQ46HvRjk&list=PLbouzmFCyUKZe7y82Q5Qze1s0agjHfdwA
This was the eighth studio album released by the Doobie Brothers, coming out in 1978. The album received massive recognition and contained the band's most popular song, "What a Fool Believes." Less known, however, is the titular song of the album, which describes holding onto something that maybe shouldn't be held onto. Because of this, you are the Town Treestump.
Your goal is to eliminate all Mafia-aligned players and any other players who wish to see the Town lose.
You have the following abilities:
I'll Keep Holding On (Passive): If you are killed during the Night, you will not fully die until the end of the following Day. You will be unable to vote or use any Day actions, but you will be allowed to post as much as you want. You can be voted as the Day elimination in this state. Your death will not be revealed, nor will your role be flipped, until the Day ends.

Good evening. Before we begin, here are some notifications about what you might need to expect this game.
- There are mechanics in this game that may cause Night feedback to be incorrect or missing.
- There may be any or all of the following mechanics present: Third Party/Neutral alignments, abilities that hide/alter the flips of the dead, and abilities that punish character or role claiming.
- The term "lylo state" may be used in some ability text. A "lylo state" refers to a gamestate in which the number of Town players alive is equal to the number of Mafia players alive plus one. If the game reaches a lylo state, it will not be publicly announced.
- Unless an ability explicitly states otherwise, it may not self-target.
- There may be roles present in the game with names that do not match what they typically are. These might have been changed for flavor or because I'm simply used to a different name.
- There is no theme split. Alignments were determined independently of character.
- As usual, using AI to write your posts is not allowed.
- To prevent angleshooting via role dm formatting, the following is a sample role dm:
"You are The Writing On The Stall! https://open.spotify.com/album/5UuIO3fQNgl7FUPNJzAily
This musical by Caitlin Cook has an unusual topic: Graffiti on public bathroom stalls. From the silly to the horny to the genuinely profound, the musical focuses on these communications we hear from people we're very likely to never know or speak to for our entire lives. Because of this, you are the **Town Anonymous Messenger**.
Your goal is to eliminate all Mafia-aligned players and any other players who wish to see the Town lose.
You have the following abilities:
On The Wall (Unlimited Use): Target a player during the Night and write a message, with a maximum of 200 characters. The target will receive the message at the end of the Night, but they will not be told who it came from."

The Day phase will last until 6:00 PM Eastern Time on December 2nd, or a little over 72 hours from this post. The Day will end early if a player is eliminated with a majority vote.
And now, it is time to sing your song.

Music. A form of art which is thousands of years old, appealing to the ear rather than the eye. Something that a vast quantity of people are exposed to on a daily basis.
My good friend Coquelicot and I are looking for something fresh and new. And so, to that end, we have this Mafia game.
This is a Semi-Upick game of Mafia. With your signup, you must message me one album of your choice and a way for me to access it. (Ideally Youtube or Spotify.) I won't be too stringent on the definition of album- but use your common sense on what falls under that definition, please. You will receive a role based on your album- it might be related to the history, the meaning, the literal words, or other aspects of the album. No players will be Vanilla.Additionally- and I will reiterate this in the rules of the game thread- there may be mechanics involved which punish character or role claiming. Choose your album and your words carefully.
I will accept anywhere from 9 up to 15 players. This sign-up period will last for a while, because I intend to listen fully to all submitted albums before distributing roles.

That's the game! With the Mafia at parity with the Town...
IT'S A MAFIA VICTORY!
So, I screwed up when I made this game. Maybe not as bad as I thought I had given that it got down to the final three, but still, it was too scumsided. Three vanillas was simply too many in a game where the mafia had the roles that they had. Ninja and the Manipulative JOAT are very good mafia roles, and Gladiator is confirmable and heavily town-leaning.
That being said, I certainly don't think the town was hopeless this game. Moozer's role was potentially very good for the town. Best case scenario, it stops the NK and confirms him, as well as basically confirming whoever was turned into a doctor. The fact that the role is similar in concept to Owen's role from the last game is actually just a coincidence -- I had it in mind even before Austin's game started. Though, perhaps it's not a total coincidence since it was inspired by JoeBob's role in Austin's UPick Mafia.
Moozer, I know you're still relatively new at this, so I'm not going to go too hard on you. But I am going to go a little hard on you, because you're not THAT new anymore. You need to make sure you adequately understand your role right when the game begins. You had the town's best role, and you completely wasted it by not using it and then doing hardly anything to defend yourself. Austin had been highly sussed since DP1 and if you hadn't made yourself a prime lynch target, there's a good chance he would have been killed instead, and if Wylted had been protected with your help, he could have even caught Cerulean red-handed. But you didn't ask questions, you didn't use your role, and the whole town paid the price for your mistake.
Also, you shouldn't have honestly said that you were going to give the Doc to Luna. He was already an obvious choice for the NK, and that just made it a no-brainer. Lying about giving it to Luna but actually giving it to Bullish would have been a good move. Being completely honest was not.
Luna, you made a couple mistakes that could have gotten you highly sussed, though it didn’t turn out that way. First, you called yourself a Vanilla Cop, but described yourself as a Neapolitan, which is a different role and what you actually were. Second, you should have scumread Owen HARD immediately. Miller doesn't make any sense unless there's an alignment Cop or something similar. Why would I include a regular Cop in a game with a Neapolitan? It makes no sense. That being said, everyone seemed to believe your claim, and you were able to confirm WF, as well as Banana to a lesser extent. That was part of why I designed the setup as I did -- the mafia had a lot of power, but so did the town potentially. It all came down to how well everyone used their roles. My mistake was in not giving the town enough power. I think my biggest design flaw here was including the Ninja in a game where the only investigatives were a Watcher and an Odd-Night Neapolitan Cop. Austin should have been restricted to odd or even nights, maybe even made a 1x.
Also, I included Bullish's role as a direct counter to Cerulean's. I wish there had been more discussion about how their roles interacted.
This might be a bit controversial, but I'm giving Town MVP to Wylted. Sacrificing himself to prevent the town from mislynching him at MYLO/LYLO is the type of selfless move that the town needed for a shot at winning. Whiteflame is a close second. His analysis was logical and overall very good. His mistakes were just scumreading Moozer (who, although town, was objectively scummy) and assuming the game was reasonably balanced in the first place (definitely can't blame him for that). Also, he was the only one who was really engaging in theme split analysis, though he missed the mark.
The theme split was that the Mafia movies were all pre-Code movies. After Owen's flip, this split was solvable, though Cerulean could not have been caught that way as he had fakeclaimed well.
Speaking of, Cerulean is easily the Mafia MVP. He was widely townread early on and did good research to try and figure out other players' characters. All in all, an excellent Mafia player.
Anyway, I have a bit more to say, but I'll leave it here for now. I hope everyone had some fun despite how lopsided the balance was. If I ever create another Mafia game, I'll definitely have an experienced mod or two give me feedback before starting it.

- AustinL0926 - Lynched DP5 - You are Scarface! Not the 1983 version, but actually the 1932 original. Yes, even before the famous Al Pacino movie, there was this film, which was inspired by the life of Al Capone. Capone himself actually saw the movie and liked it. Antonio "Tony" Camonte, an Italian gangster in Chicago, rises through the ranks to become the ultimate kingpin, though it all leads to his downfall in the end. Based on this, you might expect to be the Mafia Godfather… But instead, you are the Ninja. If you perform the Night Kill, it will be invisible to movement-based investigative roles. (Tracker, Watcher, etc.) You win with the Mafia.
- iamanabanana - Died NP4 - You are Casablanca! This classic Humphrey Bogart film was set and filmed during World War II. An American expat in Morocco, controlled by Vichy France, is confronted by an ex-lover of his who is trying to secure exit visas for her and her husband so they can flee from the Nazis. Conflicted, Rick Blaine must choose between following his own desires and doing the right thing. Now, it is up to you to help save the town from an evil force. You are a Vanilla Townie. You have no special abilities, but you have your vote and your voice. Use them to help expose and defeat the Mafia. You win with the Town.
Living players:
- Bullish
- Cerulean
- Earth

This classic Hitchcock film starring James Stewart depicts a recently disabled man who spends a lot of time moping around at home while watching his neighborhood through the rear window of his apartment, where he sees evidence that one of his neighbors has just committed a murder. You are the Watcher. Once per night, you may choose to watch any player. Assuming no interference with your action, you will learn who, if anyone, visited them that night. You win with the Town.
- whiteflame - Died NP3 - You are Some Like It Hot! This classic comedy depicts two male musicians who must disguise themselves as women in order to hide themselves from the mafia after witnessing them committing a crime. Move over RuPaul, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are in town! Now, it is your turn to help expose the mafia. You are a Vanilla Townie. You have no special abilities, but you have your vote and your voice. Use them to help expose and defeat the Mafia. You win with the Town.

This DP will last 72 hours and will end on Friday, October 25, at 1:45 PM EDT.
Deceased players:
- Owen_T - Lynched DP2 - Baby Face - Manipulative JOAT (1x Redirector, 1x Deflector, 1x Bus Driver)
- ILikePie5 - Died NP1 - Seven Samurai - Strengthener
- Moozer325 - Lynched DP3 - You are It’s A Wonderful Life! This film is considered a Christmas classic these days, but received mixed reviews upon release and did very poorly at the box office, causing it to be overlooked and largely forgotten until it's copyright, having not been renewed, expired, at which point it could be broadcast without companies needing to pay for any licensing fees, and the film surged in popularity. In the movie, God assigns an angel named Clarence, who has yet to gain his wings, to save George Bailey, a suicidal man. Now, you can give players their wings. You are the 2x Daytime Doctor Inventor. Two days per game, you may choose any player to turn into a Doctor on the following night. That night and that night only, they will be able to target any other player to save them from lethal night actions. You win with the Town.
- Lunatic - Died NP2 - You are Rashomon! This 1950 Japanese film by director Akira Kurosawa was the first film from a non-Western nation to really catch the attention of Western film critics and opened up the doors for cinema in other parts of the world. Rashomon popularized the trope of a story told by several different participants, each giving a completely different and contradictory tale. In the film, a crime has occurred, but the only things all the witnesses agree on are that a samurai was killed and his wife was raped by a bandit, but each tells the story of how it all happened completely differently, with the implication being that they all told lies based on their roles within Japanese society at the time. Because of this search for truth that provides no clear answers as to exactly who is guilty of what, you are the Odd-Night Neapolitan Cop. On odd-numbered nights, you may investigate any other player to learn (assuming no interference with your actions) if they are Vanilla Town or not. You win with the Town.

This DP will last 72 hours and will end at 2:30 PM EDT on Monday, Oct 21. Note: last night was considered to be NP1 although taking place after DP2, due to being the first completed night phase of the game.
Deceased players:
- Owen_T - Lynched DP2 - You are Baby Face! This Barbara Stanwyck film depicts a young woman named Lily Powers who seduces many men and uses sex to advance her career and personal status. At the time it was released, it was highly controversial and garnered negative reactions in the press. These days, film historians appreciate it for its boundary-pushing nature and its reflection of depression-era anxieties. Because of Powers’s use of sex to manipulate men, you are the Manipulative JOAT - 1x Redirector, 1x Deflector, 1x Bus Driver. You may use one ability per night, but may not use any ability more than once. You win with the Mafia.
- ILikePie5 - Died NP1 - You are Seven Samurai! This Akira Kurosawa film released in 1954 is still considered one of the greatest samurai films of all time, sometimes even one of the greatest films in general. Set during the Sengoku Jidai or ‘Warring States’ period of Japanese history, this film is centered around a small village which must hire samurai to protect it from bandits. Unlike many other samurai movies which depict the samurai as glorious heroes who have to save idiotic villagers, Seven Samurai takes a more nuanced view, showing the samurai as not all being honorable, while the villagers were still competent on their own, they simply needed help to defend themselves. Because the samurai came to aid the village and protect it from being ransacked, you are the Strengthener. Once per night, you may target any player to prevent their night actions (if they take any) from being interfered with, such as by a Roleblocker, Redirector, etc. You win with the Town.

Welcome to Classic Movies Mafia! Please remember to silence all electronic devices.
This is an 11-player game with three mafia players. DPs will last 72 hours each, while NPs will last 24 hours. There is a theme split. The mafia have been given access to a Discord server where they can freely talk about the game among themselves. I will allow each member of the mafia to ask if one role exists within this game at any time during DP1. Unlike previous games of mine, this one is not Role Madness, meaning there is at least one Vanilla Townie. There may or may not be more than one VT.
Rules:
- No copy-pasting your role PM or pretending to do so. Paraphrase it instead.
- No using AI (such as ChatGPT) to generate messages for you, including role PM paraphrases.
- No editing or deleting posts.
- No conversing about the game outside of the DP threads or any approved chats.
- No liking posts after dying.
I will not answer questions in-thread, except to give a vote count or a time check. Please direct all other questions to me over PM. Generally speaking, I won't answer questions about roles other than your own. However, questions about flipped roles are generally okay.
Cast List:
- ILikePie5
- Owen_T
- Moozer325
- WyIted
- Lunatic
- AustinL0926
- whiteflame
- Bullish
- Cerulean
- Earth
- iamanabanana
With 11 players, it takes 6 to reach a majority. Majority lynch is in effect, meaning that a majority must be reached for a lynch to occur. This DP will end on Wednesday, October 16th at 2:15 PM EDT.
Now, please, sit back and enjoy the movie!
