Hello all! What do I mean by "modern debate" and my supposed depressed state I describe to it? Debate is an art form created who knows how long ago, but purpose driven to challenge and find truth. It provides a structure to see clearly someone's ideas and gives you the ability to challenge them to check their validity. I loved debate at first sight as it helped me understand how to reason, but my experience has lead me to see an increasing misunderstanding by others of the point of debate.
