DP4 changes have been reverted. The game is over.
Winners: Jester and Surivor
Losers: Town, Mimes, and Condemner
SETUP
Winning third parties:
Casey - You are Jeff Skilling, the former CEO and COO of Enron! You were an aggressive executive with one eye on the business, and the other eye on its stock price! You hired Andrew Fastow, who later rose to a role as prominent as yours. You both want wealth and power and you want it yesterday! He can do a few things for you.
You are the Steadfast JOAT (“steadfast,” a flavor meaning your abilities cannot be changed). Your abilities are:
1x Rewriter- One per night, per game, you may target another player and hit them with one of Fastow’s misleading spreadsheets. They will now have a new role (of your choosing, you cannot change their affiliation or make them vanilla, however!), and will have to interpret their character differently.
1x Commuter- Have Fastow take you to one of his offshore properties. You will be immune from all night actions.
1x Morpher- Have Fastow turn another player into a special-purpose vehicle to hide your company’s fraud. You will appear as that player on all investigations that night.
Finally, you are only in it for yourself. You are an Informed Survivor. You win when the town or mimes have achieved their win condition, assuming you are alive at that point. You are informed that the feds (really just another player in this game- Greyparrot) is out to get you.
Wylted - You are Logan and Jake Paul, the brother duo of terrible influencers! You like to get yourself involved in whatever you come across, usually making some dumb spectacle out of it in the process, from music to boxing.
You are the purple goo. You have no night action, but all players who come in contact with you on the night will have their role swapped with yours. This will make them the purple goo, while you gain their abilities.
If multiple players target you in the night, one of them will be chosen- first, by order of operations; second, by random chance.
You are a jester. You win when lynched. You can joint win.
Other third party:
Greyparrot - You are Brian Vickers, the dirty, hotheaded, aggressive NASCAR driver! Despite everything in your career, you kept it going for a long time… and you never really changed your ways.
You are the Steadfast JOAT (“steadfast,” meaning your abilities cannot be changed).
Your abilities are:
1x Roleblocker: Everyone loves aggressive blocking! Except for the guys behind you. Use this once per night, per game to prevent another player’s night action.
1x Car Thief: You could also wreck someone innocent, looking for vengeance. Just ask Matt Kenseth. You may target a player: If they are commuting, they will be left Vulnerable (meaning they cannot be saved by/from any night actions by other players), and you will commute in their place, making you immune from all night actions.
1x Vote Thief: Sometimes, you steal a win with your antics. Here, you can steal a vote. Select a player, and they will lose their vote the next Day Phase, while you will gain a second vote.
You are a Condemner! You win if you are a part of the Casey’s lynch, or their death in the night. Voting for someone who killed Casey will not satisfy this win condition.
Mimes:
Joebob - You are Vladimir Kramnik, the paranoid former world chess champion! You have accused a multitude of top chess players, including Hikaru Nakamura, Jose Martinez, and Denis Lazavik, of cheating in online play. You are a lunatic who is only given credibility by some people because you were once a world chess champion. People also feel the need to go out of their way to debunk your claims, also because of your status.
Personally, I think you are going out of your way to accuse others, because you don’t want Toiletgate to be such a massive part of your legacy.
You are a godfather! When investigated, you will appear innocent. You win with the mimes, a faction that wins when all mimes are lynched.
Whiteflame - You are Machine Gun Kelly, the former rock rapper who switched to pop punk! You felt the need to diss your inspiration, Eminem, for clout. You got destroyed so badly you switched genres, and your career has been slightly worse than it was before the beef… you weren’t all that relevant to begin with.
You are a JOAT! Your abilities are:
1x Stalker- One of the reasons for your beef with is a tweet you made about his daughter, in which you said she was “so fucking hot” …while she was 17. Yuck. Once per night, per game, you may investigate another player to see what power roles they have.
1x Commuter- You switched genres after getting destroyed by Eminem. You figuratively “left town.” When using this ability, you will leave town, becoming immune from all night actions.
1x Doctor- Despite everything repulsive about you, you are in a relationship with Megan Kelly and expecting a kid. I don’t know how (probably because she’s as crazy as you are), but you actually have other people in your life you need to care for. Use this ability to protect someone else from lethal night actions.
You win with the mimes, a faction that wins when all mimes are lynched.
Town:
Lunatic - You are Roger Goodell, commissioner of the NFL! Since becoming commissioner, a few of the things you’ve done are a bit… questionable, to say the least.
You are a JOAT! Your abilities are:
1x Killjoy- Once per night, per game, you may target another player with a fine for an excessive celebration/taunt, roughing the whatever, or some other minuscule infraction. If that player is a jester, they will be converted to town.
1x Jailkeeper- Some NFL players get involved in some criminal activities, warranting a suspension. This is good, but I’m gonna give you flak for being inconsistent when it comes to stuff like this. You may target a player. That player is protected from lethal night actions and shitty turf fields, but they are prevented from using their night actions.
1x DP Extender- Sometimes, the town just needs a break. But not when there’s a 17th game to be played! When using this ability, you will extend the DP, allowing for an additional lynch to take place that day. This can be used at twilight, or at the beginning of a day phase. If you use this, you will be unable to act the following night.
You win with the town, a faction that wins when they cannot lynch any mimes.
Earth - You are Ibram X. Kendi, the radically progressive author, professor, and “anti”-racist activist! You have made famous statements like “past oppression must be repaid with present oppression,” and “racial discrimination is not inherently racist.” A more humorous one is “it is racist not to have a capital gains tax.” You preach a philosophy of racial revenge under the guise of reparations/progress. Worst of all, you’ve poisoned the minds of many college-age youth with this philosophy.
You are the strengthener! You give philosophical backing to a horrid movement of woke racism, and once per night, you may target a player with this ability. They will be immune to anything that might interfere with their actions.
You win with the town, a faction that wins when they cannot lynch any mimes.
Pie - You are Tom Cruise, the famous actor and… Scientologist?! Yes, your action movies are mostly good, but I have no idea why you got involved with this “church.” You may have a financial stake in your promotion of it as well. You are a certified Hollywood nut.
You are the 2x Affiliation Cop! Once per night, you may investigate a player. Their affiliation will be revealed to you.
You win with the town, a faction that wins when they cannot lynch any mimes.
Owen - You are Bobby Kotick, the disgraced former CEO of Blizzard! You took Overwatch and turned into a disgusting cash crab that is still playable and sometimes fun, but a shell of its former self. You took a look at the game’s massive playerbase, and saw nothing but an opportunity for a shop update under the guise of a PvE sequel with some PvP.
You are the 2x Redirector! Once per night, twice per game, you may pull a bait and switch on someone, directing their actions to someone of your choosing.
You win with the town, a faction that wins when they cannot lynch any mimes.
Skipper - You are Juggle!’s leadership, the people who own the company that bought the original site, DDO, from its founders, Phil and Crystal. Under your ownership, the site’s golden age continued… until you stopped caring about the site. The site eventually fell into disrepair with numerous bugs, and a dying community. A spambot attack drove the site’s remaining users to join DART, except for a few select users, two of which decided to spend the site’s final years engaging in a years-long, insanely racist flame war. You finally shut down the site a couple of years ago.
You are a vanilla! You have no abilities.
Or at least, that’s what I told you, in your PM. Rumor has it that you only bought DDO to fill out a portfolio. If that’s true, then it’s even worse, since you never cared in the first place. To take a great site with a great community, and treat it as nothing more than a feather in your cap that will need to be thrown out in a few years is shameful.
You are a hidden miller! You don’t know this, but you take one less vote to lynch than usual, and will be found to be guilty/mime on all investigations.
You win with the town, a faction that wins when they cannot lynch any mimes.
Banana - You are Subway, the somewhat healthy sandwich chain! In your prime, you could offer a $5 foot long. You can’t do that anymore. Now, you have many competitors that top you. There was also the whole Jared Fogle thing. That being said, you haven’t done much to bother me other than getting outsmarted by competitors, and not being as healthy as advertised.
You are a vanilla! You have no abilities.
Or at least, that’s what I told you. There are many people that still like to get a foot long every once in a while. I am one of them. I really only picked you because you were the only chain restaurant I could think of that had a falloff.
You are a Hidden Phase Princess! If you ever die, the next phase will be skipped. I’ll still create a thread for your flip if a day phase is skipped, though.
You win with the town, a faction that wins when they cannot lynch any mimes.
Thanks for playing! (even if this went sideways)
I'm gonna do a regular game next time.

DP3 Lynch Vote Count
Wylted (1/1) - Wylted
DP3 Nomination Vote Count
Wylted (1) - Pie
DP3 results: Wylted was lynched! He was a jester! Jester can now joint win with town and mimes (hotfix patch).
Lemme explain what just happened.
So I wanted to give Casey (the third party survivor) a strong role because I felt like she had one of the hardest roads to victory without power roles. So I gave her the really strong ability to rewrite someone’s PR to something of her choosing. It was way too strong looking back, but I only felt it was gonna introduce chaos.
However, I did not expect her to use King to team with Wylted like this. I gave the survivor this role before I decided jester couldn’t joint win with town or mimes.
The whole reason I decided that was because I didn’t want the jester to team with town for a free win. Survivor and condemner didn’t have a real reason to team with town, so I didn’t consider it an issue.
So I was thinking about how third parties could team with other parties, but I didn’t think about how survivor and condemner could team with jester after I made jester unable to joint win. This wouldn’t normally be an issue until late game at which point the survivor/condemner has earned their win… but I overlooked this one particular play the survivor could've made.
I really couldn’t say anything about it until now.
So yeah, Casey just cheesed the shit out of my setup. Because I don’t want this game to be completely unfair (even bastard games have a limit!), I will just allow jester to joint win with town and mimes. The game will continue.
LEFT THE GAME (AND COMPLETED THEIR WINCON) LAST DP:
Wylted - You are Logan and Jake Paul, the brother duo of terrible influencers! You like to get yourself involved in whatever you come across, usually making some dumb spectacle out of it in the process, from music to boxing.
You are the purple goo. You have no night action, but all players who come in contact with you on the night will have their role swapped with yours. This will make them the purple goo, while you gain their abilities.
CHANGED BY CASEY: You guys must think you’re king. You are the King for this next cycle. You will have the sole vote on who gets lynched.
If multiple players target you in the night, one of them will be chosen- first, by order of operations; second, by random chance.
You are a jester. You win when lynched. You can joint win now, but you previously couldn’t.
HOTFIX PATCH: Your character is now Andrew Fastow! Since you used past crimes to gain future success as a public speaker, you are the Cheeser! You have the same PRs as before, but you win when cheesing the setup (knowingly or unknowingly!) You can joint win.
GRAVEYARD
Greyparrot - Condemner- Brian Vickers - Steadfast JOAT (Car Thief, Roleblocker, votebuyer)
Skipper -Town - Juggle!’s leadership - Hidden Hated Miller (told they were vanilla)
Wylted - Jester -The Paul Brothers - Purple Goo
Casey- Survivor- Steadfast JOAT- Jeff Skilling (changed to Andrew Fastow - Cheeser)
THE FINAL TYPE
Some clowns aren’t in it because they want to control their area of influence. Rather, they just want wealth for themselves. They only want power to generate more wealth. It doesn’t matter who the establishment is, people like this will play whatever side they need to play. Their only principle is the almighty dollar. Such is the story of Jeff Skilling and others.

INTRO
Welcome town. I have something to confess: None of you were given role PMs last DP; I didn't even have a setup completed. I had a setup, but I wanted to retool it last minute, since Bullish had already done something like this before and I wanted to be more original. So, I just dropped you in for shits and giggles. It was funny and I'm glad most of you enjoyed it.
Still, I am kind of a clown for not being ready on time, aren't I? Could you imagine a world where everyone was a clown like me? A world full of fraudsters, fools, and people who just don't have it all together?
No need to imagine that. We live in one. They are found on the news, in the news, on the TVs, interwebs, colleges, businesses, and even your local Wal-Mart. You cannot escape them; you will always have to deal with their incompetence. We all do.
It is thus in "celebration" of this clown world that I present to you this mafia game.
SETUP INFO
There are many type of clowns.
TOWN- Town is made up of the establishment clowns. These are figures who rose to prominence, and because mainstream in their area of focus. They will do whatever they can to hold onto the power, fame, and wealth that they have. There are 6 of you who meet this criteria. You cannot join win the mimes or jester, but you can join win with the other two third parties.
MIMES- The mimes are made up of the rebellious clowns. These are figures who actively challenge the establishment, in what can only be described as a death wish. Most of the time, you are worse and will create your own establishment if you overtake the previous establishment and become the face of your area of focus. There are 2 of you who meet this criteria. You cannot joint win with the town or jester, but can joint win with the other two third parties.
JESTER - The jester is a clown who lives for the spectacle. It doesn't matter who's on top of society as long as they get their attention. Only 1 of you meets this criteria. You cannot joint win with the town or mimes, but you can joint win with the other two third parties.
THE OTHER TWO - They are types that are to be revealed. There are 2 of you. You can joint win with the town, mimes, or jester; however, you cannot joint win with each other.
ADVICE
Town- You are playing to mislynch yourselves, to deny the jester and mime their win conditions.
Mime- You are playing to get mislynched, so you should hide among town.
Jester- You are also playing to get mislynched. Don't just hide among town, hide with the mimes if you can spot them as well.
The other two - I recommend you don't mention your identity to town. They can use you for safe mislynches if needed.
NEW MECHANIC
In addition to voting for lynches, all 11 of you are voting to give one specific player a gun for the next night phase. That player may shoot another player in the night.
PLAYER LIST

2. Casey
3. Skipper
4. Earth
5. Lunatic
6. Whiteflame

8. Owen

OUTRO
With 11 players alive, it takes 6 votes to lynch. Whoever has the most nominations at the end of the DP will get the gun. VTL = Vote to lynch; VTN = vote to nominate.
The DP ends at 2pm EST on Thursday, Nov 21.
Good luck ya clowns!

intro to sign up thread here
So, there's a lot of new and new-ish players who have never seen a bastard game before. Isn't that a shame??? Don't worry folks, now is the time!!!!!!
First things first: What IS a bastard game?
As you may expect, a bastard game is a game that is terribly designed on purpose- for comedic purposes. These games are not to be taken as seriously as a normal game- rather, they are for the express purpose of clowning around, for both the players and mod. These games are best when you enjoy the show, and are a part of the show! Additionally, bastard design can be an art of its own- a place where really wacky, semi BS but also weirdly balanced games can be created for a unique and memorable experience. Bastard games just hit different.
Rules: (Yes, even bastard games have rules.)
Players may not contact each other about the game aside from in-thread and game-approved PMs. Dead players contacting the living players to better spectate the game is acceptable as long as no information is revealed or hints/tips are given to the living player. However, I strongly prefer dead players contact me for information if they want to spectate. Dead players may contact other dead players.
Spectating players may not reveal information about this game (roles, characters, etc.) since all players can see it. Any players given inside information still relevant to the game cannot replace other players.
If a player is replaced out, they may not reveal information about this game (see above) unless I specifically allow them to replace someone in the game.
Once a player is dead they may not communicate in-thread. They may still communicate in game approved PMs, however. Also, players may not talk after the DP has ended. During twilight it is fine to talk, but not after final vote count and flip are posted.
No players may C/P their role PM or fake doing so. Just kidding. You can do it this time.
DO NOT edit your posts in DP threads. Violators will be banished to an alternate dimension where they edited their post and were not punished for it.
DO NOT like posts after death. (Uh oh. I can't stop you.)
All questions to me about the game will be answered wherever they were posted as long as they can be answered without ruining the game. I can and will answer all hypotheticals, but cannot answer questions about unrevealed information, with a few exceptions that will already be specified at the start of the game without the need for players to ask about. Example: If a player asks if there is a cop in the game, I cannot confirm or deny that. I can, however, answer questions about how a cop would work if it were to be in the game, since that is a hypothetical.
The role a player gets will be the role that player gets. Do not ask me to have you swapped for something else, please. I will deny the request in all circumstances.
Please respect the other players around you. If violated, penalties may vary, but I will always give a warning first. This will be loosely enforced; I will only step in on the worst of circumstances, so don't expect me to do anything if someone merely mocks or teases you. IN FACT, I encourage you all to mock and tease each other.

Ladies and gentlemen, as we continue to fly, we like to take note of certain checkpoints. If you look outside your windows, you will see that it is daytime again. Welcome to DP3!
We are turning on the lights in the cabin. If you see any bodies, please notify an attendant. They will bring a body bag immediately.
If any of you are in distress, notify an attendant. They will bring you an alcoholic beverage of your choice.
As always, thank you for flying with Mayday Airlines, where we make sure you stay calm and relaxed under air pressure.

Body bags sitting in the back of the plane:
Owen - Air France Flight 447 - Rolestopper-Inventor, Town
Casey - Casey – MH370 – Motion Investigative JOAT [Tracker, Watcher, Reporter, Inspector], Town
Lynched last DP:
Moozer – Gimli Glider – Strengthener - Town
Deaths: zero
Terminal outcome: Successful emergency landing on improvised runway
Probable cause: Cascading chain of failures leading to fuel exhaustion
Summary: On July 23, 1983, Air Canada Flight 143 took off on a routine flight from Montreal to Edmonton.
However, it was doomed to never make it there. The plane had a faulty fuel indicator sensor; this in itself was not a problem, since maintenance workers were aware of it and were manually measuring fuel.
What was a problem was that their measurements were taken in pounds, while fuel requirements were logged in kilograms; consequently, the plane was only given roughly half of its required fuel load. Though several checks by both workers and the pilots should have caught this, either inattention or laziness precluded that.
En route, the engines flamed out due to fuel exhaustion – though the plane had sufficient airspeed to not crash immediately, it began losing altitude.
Fortunately, one of the pilots had experience with an old military base, and decided to redirect the plane there; with mere miles to spare, they executed a difficult sideslip maneuver (losing altitude without changing direction) in order to land on the runway. All passengers on board survived, with no serious injuries involved.
The pilots were promptly reprimanded for their negligence, then recognized for their heroism.
Role:
Because of the courage and skill shown by the pilots in landing a stricken plane under some of the most difficult conditions possible, you are the Strengthener. Each night, you can target a player, making their actions immune to interference by active abilities.
Legacy:
Most air accidents like this go wrong. This one didn’t.
You are INFORMED that the accidents in this game have led to a combined death toll of [REDACTED].
YOU MAY NOT CLAIM THIS INFORMATION IN ANY WAY. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL BE VANILLAIZED IMMEDIATELY.
Legacy role:
After you die, this information will be released with your role PM.
IN ORDER FOR THIS ABILITY TO ACTIVATE, YOU MUST HAVE POSTED AT LEAST 25 (twenty five) TIMES IN THE LAST DAY. Otherwise, this information will be redacted.
Became a victim of unfortunate circumstances in the night:
No one
Co-pilot Note:
Moozer did not meet the post requirement for his legacy role to activate. Therefore, the information has been redacted.

Mafia wins!
MVP: ILikePie5
The theme split was games that are currently indie vs. games that were once indie but got bought out by much bigger studios.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mafia:
ILikePie5 - You are Minecraft. One of the things you can do in Minecraft is explore. Thus, you are a Stalker. Once per night, you may select a player and “explore” available information about them: Specifically, their role. You win with the mafia.
Greyparrot - You are Five Nights at Freddy’s. A recurring game mechanic in the series is shutting doors to block animatronics from entering your office (and frontal lobe!). Thus, you are a Roleblocker. One per night, you may choose any player. Their night actions will be blocked. You win with the mafia.
Fake claim hint: I’m not going to tell you the theme split, but I’ll give you a hint about what to fake claim: Indie games that are similar to your game.
Town:
Wylted - You are Undertale. In this game, you can spare every monster you come across, rather than fight them. However, some antagonists will despise you for quite some time, despite this. Thus, you are a Miller. When investigated, you will appear guilty. You win with the town.
Whiteflame - You are Papers, Please. In this game, you sift through information on various potential immigrants, solving puzzles to deny any potential terrorists entry into your nation. Thus, you are a Cop. Once per night, you may investigate someone and learn if they are innocent or guilty. You win with the town.
Best.Korea - You are Ori and the Blind Forest. In this game, you play as Ori, a forest spirit who is desperately trying to save the forest. Thus, you are a Doctor. Once per night, you may choose someone other than yourself to protect. That player cannot be killed in the night. You win with the town.
AustinL0926 - You are Aimlabs. In this game, you train your aim for other shooter games. Thus, you are a Town PR Enabler. While you are alive, all town players with power roles can perform their actions successfully. If you die, all town PRs will no longer work, because they’ve become washed. You win with the town.
7000series - You are Untitled Goose Game. In this game, you play as a goose that causes mild inconveniences to humans. Thus, you are a vanilla, because you do not have a PR to “majorly inconvenience” the mafia team.
JoeBob - You are Coffee Talk. In this game, you do nothing but talk to customers. Thus, you are a vanilla. You have no PR, but you can talk in the DP thread. You win with the town.
Bullish - You are Among Us. In this game, you play mafia… which is what you’re doing right now. Thus, you are a vanilla. You have no PR, but you can help “sus” out the scum team. You win with the town.

No mod analysis today cause I've got other things I want to do.
Thanks for playing!

AustinL0926 - You are Aimlabs. In this game, you train your aim for other shooter games. Thus, you are a Town PR Enabler. Sup town. I'll repeat this from sign-ups:
This game is a 9-player setup that is based on indie games. Each player will be given an indie game as a character that represents their power role, and will involve a theme split. There is no Jester, or Third Party.
Rules: (Expect a lot of obvious mafia game rules that you already know about here.)
Mafia players cannot become replacements. If a Town player replaces a Mafia player, their former player slot no longer wins with the Town.
Once a player is dead they may not communicate in-thread. They may still communicate in game approved PMs, however. Also, players may not talk after the DP has ended. During twilight it is fine to talk, but not after final vote count and flip are posted.
No players may C/P their role PM or fake doing so. If you post your role PM to claim, it must be paraphrased. Violators will be modkilled.
DO NOT edit your posts in DP threads. Violators will be modkilled.
This will be loosely enforced; I will only step in on the worst of circumstances, so don't expect me to do anything if someone merely mocks or teases you a little bit.

As I've continued to do coursework in college, I've noticed one thing: I've yet to use the calculator I bought. It just sits there on a desk in my dorm room, only to be moved when I do the dusting.
When it comes to all the math I've needed in my classes, I just open an extra tab and use Google's calculator, or sometimes, I use certain websites for more complex mathematics.
Out of curiosity, how many of you, when working for your jobs or doing assignments in school, use a physical calculator? And how many use Google or a website? Which do you consider better and why?

I should've said this in the endgame thread, but no one will read it if I put it in there now.
DP1 of Conspiracy Theory Mafia was a complete mess and I wish I saw how ugly that DP was getting before I ended it. I took plenty of time out of my day to design and host that game, but I couldn't take anymore time to do more than skim the DP and update the vote counts. I simply do not have the time to sit in front of a mafia game all day, watching everything going on. So with that being said, please ping me if something like this ever happens again. I will do something about it. I want my games to be fun for people, not rage-inducing to them. I can't stop endgame thread salt, but I can at least try to keep players from distracting the whole DP and angering everyone during the game.
Anyways, RM clearly had a problem controlling his temper here, and it distracted everyone. I'd like to think he's getting better with this, and maybe his is overall, but I cannot trust him at this moment in time to stay chill during what is just a forum game. I understand why it is harder for him than everyone else to stay calm during a mafia game, and I have been turning the other cheek for him more than I would for anyone else on this site because of it. However, that is not an excuse for what he did in this game. He has done this repeatedly in other people's games as well. I know it may be hard when being egged on by others (more on that later), but at the end of the day RM exploded far beyond what anyone was doing him in that thread. As such, RM is banned from the next game I host.
Now, to be fair, Pie had no business egging him on in that thread. I'm okay with banter, but Pie was clearly trying to bait RM into exploding whilst knowing full well that RM would do so. All he did was anger himself and everyone else in the process. You can call it a mafia strategy all you want; I don't care. If your strategy as a mafioso is to push everyone to the point where they've had it, then you need to find a new one. As such, Pie has received a warning for my future games.
I don't like doing this because it's not fun for me, but I am doing this because I want my games to be fun for everyone playing in them. Say what you will, but I think we can all agree that the next game of mine will be more fun without two players flaming each other constantly.
I hope this thread doesn't constitute being a call-out thread, as my intention was to let people know what I am doing about what happened back there. Mods, if it is, sorry. This needed to be said.

MAFIA WINS!!!
Pie is the MVP of this game.
SETUP
The theme split was "Globalism vs. All Else." I'm sure all these have been said to be part of a globalist conspiracy by conspiracy theorists, but the New World Order is the only one where it's explicit.
Mafia
ILikePie5 - You are the New World Order conspiracy theory. Proponents of this theory believe the world’s governments are working together in a secret society to create a single totalitarian regime.
“The Illuminati controls everything, man.”
Because of this, you are a 1x Recruiter. Once per game in the night, you may recruit an opposing player into your affiliation, which would be mafia in this case.
In addition, you are also a Godfather. You will appear innocent on all affiliation investigations.
You win with the Mafia. Since you are from the Mafia, you may submit a night kill each night. For this game, you may not use your night kill on the same night you recruit someone.
There’s a whole world of conspiracy theories out there, man. Thus, you will not be getting any fake claims.
Advice for this game: Use your recruitment ability ASAP!
Barney (formerly RationalMadman) - You are the Michael Obama conspiracy theory. Proponents of this theory believe former FLOTUS Michelle Obama is secretly transgender.
“Tell me she doesn’t look like a man!”
Because of this, you are a 1x Vanillizer. Once per game at night, you may select another player and “transition” them to Vanilla. This ability will be used up even if the target is already a Vanilla.
You win with the Town (recruited to Mafia NP1).
Town
Whiteflame - You are the Alternative Therapy Suppression conspiracy theory. Proponents of this theory believe the FDA suppresses natural cures for diseases to support the medical industry.
“They have a cure for cancer. They’re just hiding it.”
Because of this, you are a Doctor. Each night, you may target another player to protect them from any lethal night actions targeting them.
You win with the Town.
Greyparrot - You are the Israeli Animal Espionage conspiracy theory. Proponents of this theory believe the Israeli government uses animals for espionage on people and governments whilst disguising it as migration tracking.
“The Mossad throwing the shark toward Egypt is not out of the question.”
Because of this, you are a Cop. Each night, you may investigate another player. Their affiliation will be made known to you, in the form of “guilty” for anti-town affiliations or “innocent” for pro-town or neutral affiliations.
You win with the Town.
Supa - You are the Sandy Hook Crisis Actors conspiracy theory. Proponents of this theory believe that no one died at Sandy Hook and that the whole incident was made up to promote gun control.
“It’s synthetic, completely fake with actors.”
Because of this, you are a Vanilla. You have no powers.
You win with the Town.
Earth - You are the Bush Did 9/11 conspiracy theory. Proponents of this theory believe former POTUS George W. Bush made up a terrorist attack in what was a controlled demolition of the Twin Towers to promote an oil war.
“That was actually a cruise missile that hit the Pentagon.”
Because of this, you are a Vanilla. You have no powers.
You win with the Town.
That2 - You are the Holocaust Never Happened conspiracy theory. Proponents of this theory believe the Holocaust was made up to promote Jewish immigration to the United States.
“I don’t know, man. Six million seems kind of high.”
Because of this, you are a Vanilla. You have no powers.
You win with the Town.
GAME ACTIONS
DP1
Town - lynch Supa (Voted for Supa: Whiteflame, Greyparrot, That2, Pie; Voted for Pie: RM; VTNL'd: Supa)
NP1

NP2
Pie - Kill That2
Greyparrot - Investigate Pie
Whiteflame - Protect Whiteflame
REVIEW
I'd say this setup turned out to be scum-sided. It wasn't egregiously so, but I feel like I could've done better. The idea was to load town up with power and then provide a single mafioso to the chance to recruit one of them so they could use it for themselves. Looking back, I probably should've added an eighth player slot (preferably a Town Watcher or Clairvoyant) to give the Town one more guaranteed DP. That would've made this setup truly balanced, in my opinion. I'll give town at least three guaranteed DPs my future games.
In DP1, RM had a great idea to use his vanillaizer to confirm himself as Town, but he made a mistake outting that plan DP1. His gut read was right on Pie too, but he wasn't able to build a good case for it. Pie did a good job refuting the case without slipping up, and Town backed off on their inquiries of him. He didn't have to do an amazing job, either; RM was so hell-bent on proving Pie to be scum that he pushed town away from his correct read. RM did have a good idea asking the Town about the political wing their theory was on, though. It was off the mark, but it wouldn't have hurt. If anything, it would've limited Pie's fake claim choices. Unfortunately, RM went too far by asking everyone to out their character for his theories, and no one listened to him on theme split theories after that. Greyparrot made a mistake outting his character so easily, but he got away with it. Earth's character claim was fine because they were a Vanilla. Town made a mistake pressuring Whiteflame into claiming, and Pie took advantage and added to the pressure. I don't blame Whiteflame for claiming, given the pressure. Pie's fake character claim was mid, but it didn't matter. I'm not sure why the Town was sussing Supa, but he was lynched regardless.
NP1, Pie correctly speculated that Greyparrot was the Cop and that Whiteflame was the Doctor, but he took Barney instead. I think he should've taken Greyparrot, but whatever. Greyparrot's investigation into Whiteflame was a waste in my eyes, given that Whiteflame was a claimed Doctor. Whiteflame's protection of Barney was the right play from the information he had, but it ultimately didn't matter. I think Barney's vanillaization of Pie was ok, given he had little to lose in doing so.
DP2, Town had a bloc that included everyone but That2, Earth, and Pie; Barney didn't have to do much to hide in that bloc. I'm just confused by the defenses That2 and Earth put up, as neither were sufficient. If both had put up a better defense, the Town would've probably looked at Pie a bit more. Neither did, and the Town chose Earth. Pie's VIP claim was okay. Greyparrot definitely hammered too early when there was plenty of the DP left.
NP2, Greyparrot had the right idea to investigate Pie, and Whiteflame's self-protection wasn't a bad idea either. Unfortunately for the Town, Pie saw it coming, so he decided to kill That2.
GG, everyone.

Hello all, and welcome to Conspiracy Theory Mafia!
This game is a 7-player setup that is based on conspiracy theories. Each player will be given a conspiracy theory as a character that represents their power role, although not necessarily their affiliation. This game is my most balanced and fun one yet. There is no Jester.

The title is self-explanatory. Also, I made this thread because I was inspired by Supa's thread about Chicago sports.
I want to see what others think in detail. I'll give my detailed thoughts tomorrow, it's getting late for me.

So I was scrolling through some memes and I came across a screenshot of a 4chan greentext.
So I screenshotted it and c/p’d through my iPhone’s text reading in Images. The greentext went exactly like this:
>Decide to check out reddit to seeif its as bad as everyone says>Go to the r/AmltheAssholesubreddit> First Post I see is of a some bitch getting pregnant at 17 wanting a abortion, boyfriend pleading her to keep the child says he'll raise itChild is born she starts saying 'I hAvE pTsD fRoM iT' (NOTE: this text was in red, so I assume there is an emphasis on this part of the greentext)>Father raises child>ffw 12 years her daughter wants to meet her>Literally wants no contact>Straight up rejects her own child>Everyone cheering her on>Any people who disagree get downvoted intooblivionWhat the fuck? (NOTE: red text here as well)
Assuming the greentext was accurate in describing the situation in the Reddit post, we can ask this question: Is she the asshole?
Also, what would you say to her if you were to meet her today? And what would you say to the 4channer who posted the greentext?
Discuss.

Philosophy
This is a series I've been wanting to do for a while, but now that I've decided to go to college after 2 gap years, it think this would be a good (and fun) way to practice my writing skills. Especially since my declared major is in Journalism. Maybe I should opt for a concentration in Sports Media. Anyways, I hope this turns out to be a good read. Also, this is all in humor.
The field of 16 drivers for the NASCAR playoffs has been set. Among them are drivers who have been class acts all season. They rarely show unjustified anger, and all of them have proven their skills... or just got lucky enough (more on that later).
This list is not about them. It's about having a laugh at the most irritating drivers (and others) on the circuit of NASCAR. Call it salt, and you'd be correct. I really don't care. With out further ado, here is my NASCAR Black Flag List:
1. Cody Ware
Quite possibly the biggest example of nepotism in NASCAR, Cody Ware proves time and time again that with enough money, even your dreams can come true! Why yes little Timmy, you can be a star! Just win a championship in the small overseas Asian Le Mans Series where you were uncontested for the championship in your division that year, and you too, can kickstart your NASCAR career! Just ask his dad, Rick Ware, owner of Cody Ware's No. 51 for Rick Ware Racing!
Since joining NASCAR, Cody Ware's performance has been putrid in all three of NASCAR's National Divisions (Trucks, Xfinity, and Cup). With an average career finish of 30.9 in the Cup Series, you'd think he should drop back down to the Truck Series, where he has an much more impressive average finish of... 23.1. Okay, so maybe that won't make too much of a difference. But hey, at least he got his first career Top 10 in The Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona last weekend! He's improving! Gee, it only took 28 of the 37 cars in the field wrecking out of contention... plate racing, amirite?
The only other notable thing Ware has accomplished this season was attracting the ire of a championship contender at Bristol, when he chased down Chase Elliot under caution to show displeasure after he got loose because he ran out of tal- er, got spun out by Elliot. Yeah. That's totally what happened. That's being said, it'll be difficult to get all sides of the story since Elliot might not remember it. He didn't remember who Ware was, after all! You'd think it's because Ware rarely sees Elliot on the track, but I have a counterpoint to prove Elliot's memory loss issues once and for all: He laps Ware several times a week! How could he NOT know who Ware is?!
Ya know, personally I wonder if this whole racing thing for Ware is just a front for Nurtec ODT to sell more migraine pills. He certainly is causing headaches for the other drivers and fans! I know it's bit of an unfounded conspiracy theory, but I'm sure it'll catch on quicker than Ware is on the track.
2. Ross Chastain
The son of a watermelon farmer and one of his watermelons, Ross Chastain is a driver who hit the Cup Series full-time (kinda) in 2018 driving the No. 15 for Premium Motorsports, with which he acheived less than premium results. Chastain failed to score a Top 15 until 2019, when he got a Top 10 at the Daytona 500 after 29 of the 40 cars in the field wrecked out of contention... plate racing, amirite (again)?
After dropping back down to Xfinity in 2020, his fortunes would improve when a dying Chip Ganassi Racing picked him up for a full time ride in 2021 to drive their No. 42 car. With this oppurtunity, Chastain finally got to run at front of the pack every once in a while, where he finally had plenty of opportunities! To wreck out the actual contenders and make every driver around him angry, that is. At the end of the season, Chastain finished 20th in points, Top 3 in most enemies made, and 1st in the I-got-cut-by-Chip-Ganassi-Racing-and-all-I-got-was-this-lousy-t-shirt award. The corresponding trophy Chastain got for his award was: You guessed it! A lousy t-shirt! NOTE: Still more fashionable than Chastain's t-shaped beard.
Fast foward to the present, and Chastain is finally a contender! He scored two wins! By wrecking everyone in front of him out, that is. Now, you might be asking, just who is "everyone?" Well, by "everyone" I mean Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, AJ Allmendinger, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliot, Martin Truex Jr, Christopher Bell, Bubba Wallace, Kyle Larson, Kurt Busch, Autin Dillon, Erik Jones, and track boundaries. There's probably others, but I'm confident I've spent more time researching this than Chastain has spent racing cleanly. If there's any good news, it sounds like the other drivers are going to pay back Chastain during the playoffs. I am eagerly waiting for the longest YouTuber-level apology Chastain has ever given once it happens.
3. The NASCAR Playoffs
NASCAR as an organization, seems to be comitted to making and defending the worst decisions imaginable. From the 1969 Talledega 500 to the 2022 Coke Zero 400, NASCAR has seen some bad races over the years; In addition, from Jeff Gordon in 2004 to Martin Truex Jr in 2022, drivers have been screwed over by poor format decisions from NASCAR. I would say Bill France Sr. would be rolling his grave, but this seems par for the course for the organization he created. Legend has it, the ghost of France Sr. is still crushing driver unions in the afterlife. Thankfully for him, he doesn't have to deal with the ghost of Lee Roy Yarbrough.
Back to more recent times, the second least competitively fair era in NASCAR began in 2004, after it was decided that drivers like 2003 champion Matt Kenseth can't just walk in and completely outclass most of the field on a weekly basis to win championships. "No, no, no! Bad 1-win driver! Why couldn't you have been more like the 8-win Ryan Newman and have 7 DNFs!" said Brain France after some drinks and pills, probably.
In the Chase era drivers had to be "ACTUALLY GOOD"... for only the last 10 races of a season. So, what does one expect from a system where you only need to be merely decent for the first 26 races of a season? Exploitation, of course! Most notably, 7-time champion Jimmie Johnson would use the regular season as more of a "tune-up" for the Chase by driving at a relaxed pace. While the Chase created artificial exitement for a short amount of time, it would prove to make the sport even less exiting than the average Indy road course wreck-fest. After Johnson captured his sixth championship in 2013, NASCAR decided to drasically emphasise what they believed was the single most important skill a driver needed: Being lucky.
The actual least competitivly fair era began in 2014 when NASCAR introduced the Playoffs. This system revolved around the last 10 races like before; however, the difference was that those 10 races were splits up into four rounds with the first 3 being races each, culminating in a 'winner take all' season finale. This resulted in a system about as reliable as the single-lug wheel. Drivers nowadays frequently have great seasons only to have one bad race mid-playoffs and get screwed. "What's that Carl Edwards? You had a league best average finish of 7.2 and got wrecked out in the final race of the season? I guess that means you're only the fourth best driver!" said Brian France two years before getting arrested for DUI, probably.
Most recently, NASCAR added playoffs points and stage racing (with its own points), creating a motorsport so convoluted they needed a celebrity ad campaign for their system. Personally I think Jim France should've been the guy presenting the system. Nothing makes the public understand what your system is about quite like showcasing the geriatric man behind it all! Unfortunately for us, NASCAR seems to value their public image more than things like good officiating, so we got 4-time Grammy winner Keith Urban to spoonfeed the system to us. Hey NASCAR, since you've shown you can spend money on celebrities, can you spend some money on a car that absorbes impact better? No? Ah, well then. Godspeed in your concussion recovery, Kurt Busch! I hope NASCAR's virtue signaling will help other drivers avoid the same injuries!

MAFIA WINS!!!
The split was teams with toxic fanbases being mafia. Roles were determined by what they were known for and team history- past and recent.
CLINCHED - MAFIA
Speedrace - You are the New England Patriots. A franchise known for its many Super Bowl titles, you have also become known to do anything to gain them. Thus, you are a Strongman. When committing the NK, you will negate any protective (but not avoidance) roles the night kill target may have. You win with the Mafia.
Badger - You are the Pittsburgh Steelers. A franchise known for its infamous Steel Curtain defense, you stop any offensive penetration into your plan. Thus, you are a 3x Roleblocker. Once per night, thrice per game, you may target a player and prevent them from using any power role they have for the night. You win with the Mafia.
Wylted - You are the Dallas Cowboys. A franchise known for its opposition to NFL rulings and proceedings, you unfortunately take measures that make you no different than the NFL you oppose. Thus, you are a Goon. You have no special abilities. You win with the Mafia.
Fake Claims Pool: Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles (complete trap claim).
ELIMINATED - TOWN
Danielle - You are the Indianapolis Colts. A franchise known for one of the most secretive and infamous movements of a team in league history, you haven’t found much of a difference in impact on the league since. Thus, you are a 2x Commuter. Once per night, twice per game, you may leave town and avoid any targets from power roles. You win with the Town.
Earth - You are the Buffalo Bills. A franchise known for its “Bills Mafia” fanbase, you had the privilege of watching said fans crowdfund a ton of money for a hospital in recent times. Thus, you are a Doctor. Once per night, you may target a player aside from yourself and protect them from any lethal action against them for the night. You win with the Town.
SirAnon - You are the Arizona Cardinals. A franchise known for building around experienced players in the past, you have become the retirement home of the NFL. Thus, you are a 2x Babysitter. Once per night, twice per game, you may target a player and protect them from any lethal action taken against them for the night; however, if you die the player you are protecting dies with you. You win with the Town.
MisterChris - You are the San Francisco 49ers. A franchise known for coming back from player injuries, you have an impressive five Super Bowl titles as well. Thus, you are the Lynchproof. You cannot be lynched in the day; however, this will go away in MYLO/LYLO situations. You win with the town.
Greyparrot - You are the Atlanta Falcons. A franchise known for repeated choking, with the worst of it coming in a Super Bowl. Thus, you are a Hated. You will take one vote less to lynch than normal; however, this will go away in MYLO and LYLO situations.
Oromagi - You are the Houston Texans. A franchise known for being the newest, you have yet to accomplish anything notable aside from the Bill O’Brien disaster. Thus, you are a Vanilla. You have no special abilities. You win with the Town.
Pie - You are the Chicago Bears. A franchise known for being one of the oldest teams in the NFL, you only have one Super Bowl title and oftentimes will lose to your biggest rival up North. Thus, you are a Vanilla. You have no special abilities. You win with the Town.
That2 - You are the Jacksonville Jaguars. A franchise known for being one of the worst ever, you torture your fans to the point where you had them openly protesting in clown outfits at your stadium during a game. Thus, you are a Vanilla. You have no special abilities. You win with the Town.
Whiteflame - You are the Seattle Seahawks. A franchise known for being incredibly mediocre, you had a failed dynasty because you could never give Russell Wilson a proper O-Line. Thus, you are a Vanilla. You have no special abilities. You win with the Town.

GAME REVIEW
Given my previous games, I think this was a step in the right direction. However, there are definitely an issue I would've made different in hindsight.
So I tried stating the setup creation by starting with a power role dynamic and making it the core of the game. Then, I filled the remining roles, theme split, and characters, in that order. The dynamic I chose was "Town roles that could stop an NK and their counters". I started with a Doctor and Strongman, then gave town a Babysitter to stop an NK if they got rid of the Strongman and the Doctor had already died. Thinking the Strongman was still to strong, I added a Commuter that would avoid the Strongman entirely by leaving town. To give Mafia a chance to NK the Commuter, I gave them a Roleblocker that would stop them from leaving town; however, they had to be a bit more coordinated for this. At this point I filled in the rest. I went back to add in the Lynchproof after noticing Town would likely have a hard time figuring out the theme. I then balanced this with a Hated to make it easier for Mafia to cast suspicion on someone. I finished by adjusting characters to fit the new roles. To conclude, I do think the setup was balanced. At least on paper.
In reality, the game setup was way too repetitive. This made the game harder to read for both teams, and instead of being a game of making plays, it became a game of not making mistakes since the roles were confusing. While both teams had the opportunity to make mistakes, it lent its hand to whichever team got off to a hot start, unless a big turnaround would occur, but that didn't happen. So I leaned a pretty good game design lesson here: When picking a power role dynamic to start a game with, do NOT choose protective roles. Those roles exist mainly to protect informational roles, and therefore are NOT meant to be the centerpiece of a setup.

If you have any thoughts, please post them; I am open to feedback (to improve my future games) and curious to see your thought processes.

Welcome, all, to DP1!
Rules: (Expect a lot of obvious mafia game rules that you already know about here, C/P’d from sign-ups thread.)
Players may not reveal information about information about this game (roles, characters, etc.) since all players can see it.
Once a player is dead they may not communicate in-thread. They may still communicate in game approved PMs, however. Also, players may not talk after the DP has ended. During twilight it is fine to talk, but not after final vote count and flip are posted.
No players may C/P their role PM or fake doing so. All role PMs must be paraphrased.

Post theme ideas for others to use here, or ideas you want to see someone make! Heck, you could post a new idea every time you take one from here!
I'll start with 5 ideas.
Hygiene Mafia (a reminder to your average internet poster to take a shower- on the daily)
Super Mario Mafia (based on enemies/characters from the Super Mario series)
Transformers Mafia (using G1 will be easiest)
The GOATs Mafia (game using once-in-a-generation elite-level athletes from a variety of sports leagues)
Italian Foods Mafia (bonus points if you make the Americanized foods scum)
I also have a bonus idea which I may or may not have taken from Discord.
Mafiaverse of Madness (based off the latest Marvel Movie, maybe even all of Stage 4 of the MCU)
Go!!!

Welcome to NFL Mafia! This game setup was made with help from Lunatic.
This is a game based on the National Football League, an American league that plays football (duh)! Each character will be a team that currently plays in the league and will have a theme that divides the team into two categories, with stated reasons for roles based on the team as well. Scum team will have a fake claim pool (with some better than others) and may also go outside of the pool for fake claims. There is no Jester.
Standard rules of game format and mechanics apply to this 12-player game. I can adjust to 9 players if need be, but I am going to try really hard not to have to do that.
Rules: (Expect a lot of obvious mafia game rules that you already know about here.)

MOD REVIEW
I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I felt this game sucked. Yeah, the inactivity was bad, but I'm not going to make a scapegoat out of it. At the end of the of the day, I believe there would've been more activity if I made a better setup that was more fun to play.
My thought was to create a cool randomized experience. The problem is, having every role is incredibly bastard. So I attempted to balance the bastardization by having pools and probabilities, but that didn't work. One cannot balance bastard design. One must remove bastard design outright in order to make a good game. In my attempt to do so, I only made things worse. The possibility of having a power role only for said role to be useless (like Earth's ninja, since there was no tracker or watcher in the game) is not fun. It's just annoying.
Regardless, there still is hope for a cool game to be made out of this concept. But only by embracing the natural bastard design, and making the game an open setup bastard game. Seriously. I think this game would've been more fun for all if everyone was just goofing off knowing they were in a bastard game. Just imagine a "Chaotic RNG Mafia" game in which literally anything is possible. It doesn't get any more gloriously bastard than that. Someone should put Disc up to it.
As much as it sounds like I'm beating myself up about this game, I'm really not. I'm only starting to become a better mod and this setup was made before I really desired to be one. Plus, no one else had a game ready and there was no one in the hopper on the sign-ups thread. So I just rolled with it. The be honest, I still see improvements in my own modding here. I was more active and able to update vote counts and confirm night actions, I had a better policies, and I didn't do anything stupid. All that was missing was a good setup, and I already have a good one made with the help of Lunatic. It is a 12 player game based on the NFL. I look forward to it.
SHOUTOUTS
I don't really like MVP awards anymore because they almost always seem to cause some stupid argument. So I'll just give shoutout to players for plays they made that I liked.
Pie: This man is on a tear right now. Between solving the game in Anime Waifus Mafia, blending in effectively in Ozark Mafia, and calling both scum players DP1 in this game, I think he is at least the best town player on the site right now. Congrats on your intellectual pop-off, Pie.
Badger: Giving Greyparrot the gun was completely based. The amount of trust this man had for one of the boys to send him that gun when he was scumread by Greyparrot is pretty neat and I nominate it for bro moment of the year.
Disc: Read Supa quickly, and used his PR to end the game. It was kind of simple, but a clean play nonetheless.

So I’ve ran 3 games that completed and I honestly think they were all very town sided in balance. So I’m looking for someone to help me balance my next game after RNG/Matrix 12 Mafia. Preferably someone who doesn’t play mafia a whole lot anymore, but is very experienced in designing games.

So I came up with a cool thought experiment in RNG Mafia, but I'm not sure how fun it would be to play, so I am giving the option to vote for a Matrix 6 or 12 (depends on player count) setup game instead which can fill in extra slots with vanillas and goons.
RNG Mafia
This is a 10 or more player game. Before the game starts, I will randomize everything about the game from a pool of possibilities. Here are the odds:
Possible Affiliation Setup (rolled once each):
Town vs Mafia (65% chance)
Town vs Mafia A vs Mafia B (35% chance)
No Survivors (60% chance)
1 Survivor (40% chance)
Possible Power Roles (rolled once for each player in the game):
Mafia:
No power role (50% chance)
1 power role (50% chance)
Town:
No power role (70% Chance)
1 Power role, selected from pool (30% chance)
Power Role Pool (equal odds each)
Mafia: 3x Roleblocker, 2x Redirector, Janitor, Ninja, Strongman, Lookout
Town: 1x Bulletproof, Tracker, 2x Doctor, Watcher, 3x Roleblocker, Bodyguard, Popular (gone in MYLO/LYLO), 1x Gunsmith, 1x Commuter, 1x Weak Cop
Matrix 6 or 12
Depends oon how many players. 10 or more = Matrix 12. 9 or less = Matrix 6.
Alright, you may sign up and cast your votes.

Who you got? I wanna see Bengals vs 49ers but I think it will be Chiefs vs Rams in the Super Bowl.
Chiefs offense is unstoppable and I think their defense does better against the Bengals the second time around. As for the Rams, I think Matthew Stanford will throw less interceptions this time and they will finally overcome the 49ers to make it to the Super Bowl.
