Tariffs are objectively harmful to an economy- I understand the merits of counter tariffs and their usage for a negotiation tactic, the price of goods will rise as a result of these tariffs. 

I would love a world where no country tariffs another country but that doesn’t seem possible right now- not while other countries want to tariff us. Ideally, this would be effective in getting countries to pull their tariffs on us and get those trade deals. If not, it’s gonna backfire hard.

I am very skeptical of this, so Mr Trump, it better fucking work. If this fails you cost the American right the midterms.

Our press hasn’t been free for some time. Too much influence from our government and corporate ownership. They truly are an enemy of the people.

The result has been a rise of freelance and citizen journalists. Most of them lack ombudsmanship and professionalism, but there are a few good ones… although slanted reporting is still an issue.

If we can get a new generation of objective, honest freelance/independent journalists, who reject partisan slant, then the problem will be solved via the free market. But we’re not quite there yet.

If I ever get rich, I don’t think I’ll drop crazy money on anything- heck, I’d still be hesitant to buy a new car. My shitbox still gets me from A to B- and it’s better than most shitboxes.

Perhaps contentment is its own form of wealth.

Credential worship is midwit cope.

And btw, hell no. There is zero chance the US joins the EU. We did not declare independence from those guys just to have them ruling over us again

I’ve seen this type of smug reply before and it isn’t exactly a great look. It’s pretty obvious that every major media outlet in America has some sort of slant, and to ignore it because most outlets are slanted in your favor is ludicrous.

At the heart of the issue, your response doesn’t seem to defend the fed giving money to media outlets… which is the ethical concern here. Like it or not, even our nation’s esteemed journalists have an incentive to report on their backers favorably… which is why government-backed media is frowned upon. It does in fact, lead to propaganda. 

It’s amazing how old some sports leagues are. You can read about champions, teams, and players from over 100 years ago that were apparently famous back then- but are pretty much forgotten today.

Canada has immigration laws and can deport people as well. Baby murder isn’t as important as free speech and arms as well- as a matter of fact, I would argue it’s in  the libertarian interest to protect rights- including for the unborn (in spite of what the libertarian left says) I will also add the US respects private property rights a bit more. And whatever you think of Trump, I can assure you it remains that freedom of speech is most respected in the US.

Mine does not. I just like driving it.

In America, you have greater rights to speech and arms… I’d argue those are more important for a libertarian country than legalized marijuana.

Like did they always respond poorly to pressure? If not, when did it get to them?

I wonder some athletes can become choke artists if their first choke was egregious enough. Like it just gets in their head that they don’t want to repeat the same choke, which just makes it happen again and again.
