So laws of an all powerful God are fully controlled by men then. If something is popular, its legal. It was also popular to worship golden statues, and your God had no problem with punishing people severely for that. Maybe slavery just isnt as bad as worshipping a statue or wearing women's clothes. Your God seems to think so.

This gives the aura of being allowed but because of the regulations it will be phased out. Something less common (and therefore not entrenched into the social fabric) is a fringe behavior that can be outlawed. You don't have to like it. No one cares what you think about it.

So if some greater evil is more popular, it should be punished less than much smaller evil which isnt even common or even harming anyone. So your God's laws are based on whats popular. Not a very powerful God. Seems like a coward.
