On August 5th, the Moderation team will be commencing the third annual DART Hall of Fame. The DART Hall of Fame is a process in which we honor users, forums, and debates that have made an impact on the community as a whole. This tradition was carried over from Debate.org, and we have continued it from there to here. Below will explain the process of the Hall of Fame...

There are no prerequisites or eligibility requirements for users to participate in the Hall of Fame nominating or voting processes, except that they have an account on DART and are not voting/nominating from more than one account. Importantly, coordinating votes or severe spamming of votes is prohibited. This will result in all votes that were deemed as spam nullified. You may argue with people on their choice if warranted, but mass campaigning is prohibited. Private PM's with groupchats is prohibited. This process is about awarding those with merit or importance, and not about awarding those who can cajole the most voters. Also, more exact start and end times will be made clear in the threads in question, to ensure there is no ambiguity as to when the processes begin and conclude. Please be sure to check these times 

I am posting this update now to (a) brief you on the process, (b) give notice about the restrictions placed on campaigning and vote coordinating/rigging, and (c) give you time to consider who/what you would like to nominate, come August 5th!

Wylted: You are Edward Elric. The main character in the series, you have a metal arm and leg due to performing human resurrection to bring back your dead mother and binding your brother's soul to a robot. You then set out on an adventure to learn the truth about human resurrection so that you can turn yourself back into your full bodies. Earth: You are Alphonse Elric. You are Edward Elric's brother, in which your soul is attached to a robot due to you performing the human resurrection. Your armor is incredibly useful, as bullets can not hurt you and you are extremely strong and can only die by having your soul attachment cut off. Because of your armor protecting you from death, you are Bulletproof. You are immune to all lethal NP actions. You win with town.

Chris: You are Winry Rockbell. You are the childhood friend and mechanic for the Elric brothers. You are one the best craftswomen in the country. You are extremely caring for both of the brothers and don’t want them to danger themselves. Because of your ability to create things for the Elric brothers, you are the Craftsmen. Each night you may craft one of the 3 items, a Vest (1x Bulletproof), a Gun (1x Vigilante), or a Radar (1x Cop). Once you craft the item, you may choose someone to give the item too in the same NP. If the item is given to mafia, they will not receive it. You win with town

Whiteflame: You are Roy Mustang. You are a State Alchemist and Officer of the military. You are able to control flames, making you a powerful alchemist. However, after one of your friends die, you become motivated by vengeance and wish to kill the person who killed your friend. Because of your desire to seek vengeance on the killer of your friend, you are a 1x Vigilante. In the night, you may choose to shoot someone. You have up to two shots. If you kill 2 townies with your 2 shots, you lose your vote for the entire DP. You win with town

Badger: You are Van Hohenheim. Father to the Elric brothers, you are hated due to you never being there for your children. However, you realize this and try to seek the recognition of your children by assisting them in retaining their old bodies. You ultimately help the Elric brothers on your mission immensely due to your past that you lived. Because of your revelation of critical information to the group, you are a Cop. Each night you may investigate someone. They appear either innocent or guilty depending on affiliation. You win with town

Polygot: You are Riza Hawkeye. A soldier for the military, you are Roy Mustang’s accomplice in his mission for revenge. You share information from Roy’s investigation to the other soldiers that are interested, despite being sent to another place. You then share key information about the Ishvalan Civil War to help the Elric brothers. Because you spread key information, you are the Messenger. Each night you may send a message to a player. I saw Mr. Chris's post about him graduating, so I might as well just put an obligatory, I graduated post as well.

I don't feel any different than any other days, maybe it's because it hasn't clicked with me than in 2 months my life will change forever, or maybe it's because I am only 17 and don't 18 til July 1st, but nevertheless, my high school experience was very pleasant. I had a good group of friends and while I dealt with my own struggles in that time, no one of them were heightened because of my school environment, which I can be thankful for.

iLikePie5 - You are Lucy Heartfilia. Loving and caring, you are the Celestial wizard from Fairy Tail who has collected 14 celestial spirit keys. You use these keys in battle, and later on, are able to use the powers of the keys onto yourself. You are a soft and caring person, but have big dreams to become a great wizard and publish the book you are working on. You go on lots of adventures with your “friend” Natsu, who invited you into Fairy Tail and helped you accomplish your dreams. Coal - You are Cana Alberona. Outgoing and 99% of the time drunk, you are a wizard who can use your cards to make something into a reality. You have a crazy high tolerance for alcohol and you are extremely loyal yet carefree. However, it is revealed that your motivations are to find your father, who is said to be in Fairy Tail and you want to prove your worth by becoming an S-Class wizard. Because of your love for alcohol, you are the Drunk. Each night you select someone to “drive you home.” That person's action will be blocked for the night. You win with the town.

Lunatic - You are Juvia Lockser. You can use Rain Magic, a magic where you can make it rain and also control the water by blending into it. You are a quiet and shy person, but soon become madly in love with Grey. You care a lot for Grey and do so many things for him when he seems to do nothing returns. You are so loyal, that instead of giving yourself blood when in a battle with your magic, you gave some of yours to Grey to heal. Because of your undying loyalty to Grey, you are the Protector. If Grey were to die in the night, you would kill the person who killed Grey and then you save Grey, but ultimately killing yourself at night. You win with the town.

Earth - You are Jellal Hernandez. You have a plethora of different magic abilities that make you a strong wizard. Childhood “friend” of Erza, you were corrupted by Zeref and were evil for some point until Wendy healed you, where it was revealed you lost concisus and didn’t remember anything that happened. You soon figure out what happened and wish to atone for the sins you committed since your reputation is ruined. Because Erza and the others know of your innocence but the rest of the magic world does not, you are the Miller. You appear guilty on cop investigations. You win with the town.

MisterChris - You are Mirajane Strauss. An S-ranked wizard in Fairy Tail that summons Demon Spirits, your magic ability starkly contrasts your real life personality. Soft and fragile, you are one of Fairy Tail’s strongest members, but are also frequently the cover girl on Sorcerer Weekly due to the charm you present. Everyone in the guild loves you and the personality you bring and you are loved globally due to the Sorcerer Weekly magazines. Because of your popularity and how everyone loves you, you are Loved. It takes one extra vote to lynch you. You win with the town.

RationalMadman - You are Doranbalt. A magic council member that has the ability to manipulate memories, you were assigned on a mission to investigate the inner workings of the Magic Guild and erased your own memories of Fairy Tail in order to do so. Because you investigated the magic council successfully, you are the Cop. Each night you may choose someone to investigate. They appear either innocent or guilty. You win with the town.

Speedrace - You are Zeref Dragneel. Brother to Natsu, you were once a peaceful person who wished to leave in peace. However, you committed violent sins in the past and wished to live in isolation to atone for the sins you committed where you realized that death is inescapable and wish destruction to the world with end until you reform, only wishing to make peace with Natsu. Because of your wish to be unseen and be peaceful despite, you are a Ninja. Each night you may kill someone. It will not appear on any tracking or watching results. You win with the mafia

I think scum dug themselves in a hole with Speed pushing oromagi into it. Speed was typing in the Discord but was never active in the game and then screwed over oromagi by taking his claim given.

Sorry the game ended soon. Would've like to see this game fully complete but oh well

With that in mind, here are the base rules for games

To put it simply, I trust corporations more than I trust government. Corporations themselves are the people with the biggest impact. With the recent fiasco with Robinhood, my outright anger at Robinhood and anger at AOC for dividing the party when there is bipartisan agreement, I lose faith in both parties. Thus is where Libertarianism comes in. Corporations think for themselves by using the people to compete. In short, corporations are the people who help understand the consumer more than the government. Government sits on a pedestal of authority, only to work with corporations themselves and them claiming themselves to be the sole masterminds of equity. It's deplorable. It's on both sides too. Ultimately, Libertarianism stands for the freedom, and less government control, and less of a government influence. There are ideas and beliefs of Libertarianism that are ideal, and are ultimately the best way to balance the corporations and people. It should ultimately be corporations taking the decision, while the government stays behind and only suspects. Adding restrictions to obtain more authority is one step closer to fascism. While then there is the argument that corporations are corrupt as government, corporations are not entitled to be "righteous." Governments have the intent to be righteous and work for the people, where ultimately they benefit themselves. The government should set base guidelines and investigate when needed too. I agree that some restrictions and laws (monopolies, freedom of invest, etc.) should be preserved, the less the better. Free market strive when properly managed.

The two party system itself is failing at it's core. Democrats will shove agenda and propoganda down the throats by shoving money at public schools to sponsor their agenda while Republicans will be sneaky and greedy, trying to take advantage by asserting dominance. These parties work for themselves and restrict the freedoms of the people. Libertarians are free people.

Invest your money in whenever, be able to cut hair without a license, etc. It's ultimately about freedom. You can have opinions, as long as the freedom you have isn't taken away. Of course, I remain bottom right, but I slowly have gotten more Bottom Right. I believe abortions should be legal, but not sponsored by the govt so that people who don't believe in abortion have to pay tax. I believe markets should be free with minimal restrictions, I believe that immigrants are beneficial and should have easier paths to citizenship and there needs to be reform. However, I don't believe the minimum wage should be increased. I don't believe social security is beneficial to developing an ideal society for unemployed. 

So in conclusion, I've changed throughout my time. At first, I thought pure conservatism was beneficial, but as time raged on, I realize the freedom is the most beneficial, and Libertarianism is defined as freedom

However, this article suggests that Twitter did not ban child pornography as they believe it did not violate their guidelines, but child pornography is a FEDERAL CRIME? 

Two days ago, I heard some of the worst news I’ve ever received in my life, that my friend had committed suicide. I am sick to my stomach and am so devastated to hear this terrible news. My friend was someone who was a loving person. I knew he suffered from depression, but COVID increased his depression due to the circumstances. The fact I'll never be able to see him again is what keeps me up at night.

Depression and mental illness are terrible things that effect so many people. That’s why I made this to tell people that you are loved❤️People love you and care for you❤️Please talk to others, seek help, and know that harming yourself is never the answer. You are not alone in this fight and we all love you. You mean everything to me

I only told a certain group of people, but bottling up my emotions is not going to do anything. I am just at a loss for words and don’t know what to say
