So atheist have somewhere to talk about religion that doesn't actually involve them talking about religion cuz all they want to do is talk about definitions. Then nobody has to waste their time talking about something they don't actually believe in. Sorry I'm not allowed to use the word believe, something they don't actually think exist. I think thinks okay to use it's hard to tell they get really upset if you use words that they don't like even though those words mean the same things that they're saying.

So I'm watching The Sandman on Netflix which of course is another Neil Gaiman based show. I enjoyed Lucifer and American Gods was so so. It never ceases to amaze me that someone who's an atheist and looks down on people who believe in god's would basically make his fortune on writing stories about them. It just really screams hypocrisy not to mention the fact I just completely bastardized the myths and lead people to believe that's what they actually are like Stan Lee did to Thor. There's nothing worse than trying to talk actual mythology with someone and then they throw a Marvel or DC reference into it.

The Spiritualist experiences of clairvoyance and clairaudience – the experience of seeing or hearing something in the absence of an external stimulus, and attributed to the spirits of the dead – is of great scientific interest, both for anthropologists studying religious and spiritual experiences, and scientists studying pathological hallucinatory experiences.
In particular, researchers would like to better understand why some people with auditory experiences report a Spiritualist experience, while others find them more distressing, and receive a mental health diagnosis.
"Spiritualists tend to report unusual auditory experiences which are positive, start early in life and which they are often then able to control," explained psychologist Peter Moseley of Northumbria University in the UK when the study first came out.
"Understanding how these develop is important because it could help us understand more about distressing or non-controllable experiences of hearing voices too."

Any halfway intelligent person is well aware that the genuine practicing of witchcraft was not in any way associated with the "Witch Hunts" in history. Men and women who had in some way made enemies with those in political or religious positions were murdered using the term witch to kill them. While some of these people may have engaged in practices that were once done in the community by witches such as midwifing or herbal healing there's no proof they practiced genuine witchcraft. Most were probably Christian practitioners who were honoring and continuing a skill that they were taught by a parent. The term witch is still used as a negative in political and religious speech to target mostly women but also men who are outside or considered an enemy of that political/ religious persuasion. What does this have to do with the modern practicing of witchcraft? That people in general still view that practice as evil or somehow negative. And that the people engaging in it are evil and negative. This holds true in regards to atheism as well even though witchcraft is a series of practices and that it's an atheistic practice and that gods are not necessary to engage in it. It is still considered woo woo by non- spiritual atheist and the target put on a person who calls themselves a witch is done by both political / religious enemies as well as atheism. I'm attaching a video that was done by an archaeologist who is also participates in a variety of pagan practices. It explains how the genuine practice of witchcraft has been demonized and uses a political tool to hurt and kill people who were probably in no way shape or form engaging in what would be considered witchcraft by those actually practicing.

April 30/ May 1 has all kinds of goodies going. Black New Moon, Partial Solar Eclipse and Wonnenacht (also known as Walpurgisnacht elsewhere) where Holda leads the Wild Hunt and grinds the souls on her mill to break up the parts and move them on. And it's the first night of the twelve-night/twelve-day observance where Dunner (Thor) fights the Frost Giants so planting can begin on Mother's Day. Lots of ritual work. Very exciting.

After reading the COC again I wondered what the point the block function serves other than blocking PMS . While the rules state if someone says leave me alone you're not to bother them everyone seems to ignore the fact that they're blocked by someone. Yet the rules state someone is to leave you alone if ask them to so I was wondering why the block function doesn't serve as the I don't want to engage with you statement.

So I stated in another topic that I a practicing member of two organized religions. And then was asked what made me think those religions were organized so I'm going to state why that is here. I believe the person who asked this question is confusing organization with size or mainstream. I believe what organizes a religion is one: there is a main body that establishes at first what gods or entities are being worshiped, written material, education or certification of priests/reverends, ceremonies involving birth/ death/marriage. Two: that even if there isn't necessarily a main body that addresses those issues there's certainly some sort of unifying principle where those issues are addressed. Three that that religion is acknowledged by federal organization to be tax exempt and it designated religion for soldiers and their grave sites. This would also include allowing people to have clergy from that religion attend them at the hospital or funeral services. Do you feel any of these are inappropriate? What do you think should be added to constitute an organized religion?

Besides here I go to two forums. One is closed and pagan in nature. The other specifically for witchcraft and certain sections are closed. All three forums have atheists who posted them. The pagan forum has Satanist who are as rude about religious beliefs as the atheists here. The witchcraft form has atheist but they just don't engage in the topics regarding deity because the board is very sectioned and there are sections regarding those topics and they just don't go in there. So basically the only space on the internet where I can go and discuss religion without atheist chiming in is the witchcraft board. I don't go to or I'm a member of a single message board, forum, I don't know what other type of boards there'd be or spaces where atheist specifically are set up to engage with one another. If this particular board set up a subform in religion that said atheism I wouldn't post in it. Yet every single religious forum I go to has them. I'm curious if any of the other theists that are here do go to those spaces and engage with atheists in their territory like they do here. Are there even spaces set up like that? I can't imagine there isn't a single forum on the internet set up specifically for atheists. I would like to add that at the pagan forum there are no Christians. There are a couple of Christians in the witchcraft forum. But since most of the post revolve around spell work you really don't know someone's a Christian if they don't come right out and say so, the witchcraft forum also has a section for Christians in the deity area. Most christian-oriented posts are kept there.

So the rules say if you tell someone you don't want to engage with them on something and and they do it, it's against the rules. I was informed that in order for me to quit having Stephen ask me the same question almost 23 times after I said I was done talking about it over five different topics that I have to get an official restraining order and that I'm not allowed to engage in his post or talk to him in any, way shape or form. So since that's the only way to quit having him follow me around the religion form asking me to answer a question I told him I was done talking about I'm officially requesting the restraining order. At this point of Stephen chooses to engage with me in any way I hope there's some kind of consequence for it cuz at this point it just looks like the person that told me this plays favorites in the religion form and the atheists are their favorites. All that really needed to be done was for him to be told not to continue to ask me the same question now I have to completely restrict how I post in the one forum I posted because the mods don't want to do their job. So the request is now made.

The official Twitter account of the Auschwitz Memorial weighed in on a thread that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez began Tuesday, in which users argued about the definition of "concentration camp."
They also asked some members of the media to "consider following" them to learn more about the horrors of Auschwitz.
The tweets came after some media members defended the New York congresswoman after she compared concentration camps to U.S. migrant detention centers Monday. "The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border, and that is exactly what they are. They are concentration camps," Ocasio-Cortez said.
The tweets came after some media members defended the New York congresswoman after she compared concentration camps to U.S. migrant detention centers Monday. "The United States is running concentration camps on our southern border, and that is exactly what they are. They are concentration camps," Ocasio-Cortez said.
Addressing a back-and-forth that took place under the Ocasio-Cortez tweet, the Memorial said, "The history of Auschwitz is far more complicated than this as it combined two functions: a concentration camp and from March 1942 an extermination center.
Is AOC out of line calling the detention centers concentration camps? Do you think Auschwitz is trying to own the term? Would the Japanese camps from the 40's be concentration camps as well? If there a difference in that and the incarceration of illegals to the US?

One of the distinguishing features of the Norse/Germanic/ Anglo Saxon pagan faiths is the runes. This set of magic symbols is used as written language as well as chants (galdr) and spell craft. Said to have come to Odin when he hung on the world tree and taught to him by Freya they are an important aspect of the religious culture as well as witchcraft and paganism outside the religion due to the open nature of the faith. Of course there are white supremacist who are also part of the religion in both Europe and the US who use these symbols for nefarious means. Banning the runes as hate symbols due to this would in fact impact more non racist of the faith then the racists. Those like myself in the religion would equate it to banning the Bible or cross from any use.
Do you feel the government has a legitimate stance on the issue? Should all members of a religion be forbidden to engage in parts of their faith being exploited by hate groups?
Should the US consider all runes and Norse imagery racists?

It's probably dated but since I am an 80's kid Ireland and the IRA were news for us. Our terrorism. I am watching a documentary on it right now. The bad was killed by the British version of the IRA with possible British military involvement. Amazing story I was not aware of. Not sure if anyone is aware of it or has insight on it. It's seems to have been a politcal eye sore for over a decade thanks to members who survived.

The Congress passed their budget with limited wall monies and limited wal type structures. Trump is/will declare a National Emergency allowing him to pull funds from various programs, mostly military to pay for what he wants. Seems a legal battle is going to put this at the Supreme Court. Should be interesting.

So 2019 is the year of the pig. As you can imagine pig represent fertility, prosperity, luck, overall good fortune, wealth, symbolizing a hard work. They also represent peace, honesty and good humour.
Unlike cows who have on or two calves at a time and chickens who will be kept alive for eggs pigs have large litters and get very big. They are the symbol of fertility in several cultures. Pigs are also very smart animals. Unlike some cows who will stand in line when being slaughtered pigs will give out warnings and fight being taken. They will also work together to trip up people if kept in pens together. They are also great pets when the pot belly variety and will use a litter box.
So here is to a happy, prosperous New Year to everyone.

This stupid comment is often made when atheist are criticizing theists for "judging" others. In the same breathe they often say theists are too stupid to not be taken advantage of. So if you need to make judgements on people to decide if they are good for you or not how are atheists good for doing it and theists bad for doing it. Of course those with religious beliefs may or may not put extra standards on judgements when deciding who to trust. Of course judgement needs to be keep separate from discrimination. socialpsychonline.com/2016/10/judging-people-psychology/
So why is judging who is good for you or not bad? Other than atheists hate theists.

Yule is the winter holiday celebrated by most pagan faiths. It's pre-Christian roots are Norse/Germanic when December would have been a month of celebrations at getting to mid winter marked by the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year. The god Wodan/Odin was the god of Yule being the leader of the Wild Hunt which calls the dead and takes them to their resting place. Holle in the German tradition shares the lead of the Hunt and the Yule celebration. The first of 12 Nights of Yule is Mother's Night where the disir are honored running to New Years. Pork, boards, logs, goats and ale. Basically feast were held so food stores were shared and saved to get to spring. Singing, honoring the gods of the dead and fertility (Freyr is represented by boards and pork) and drinking to our honored dead were done.
Now with all that said what parts of the Bible give Christians permission to engage in Yule celebrations. Other than Jesus almost nothing about Christmas traditions is Christian. Atheists will high jack anything and call it secular but Christians engaging in pagan ritual is concerning, don't you think?

It's already time for the bell ringing to start. Pretty early this year. Do you give to the Salvation Army or other faith based charities? Do you not? If you don't do you have a specific reason or just refuse to give to Christian charities? Do you make an effort to give to secular charities?
How much time do you spend researching a charity before giving. How many of you just give to gofundme's without some background on the cause or person.

Has anyone watched this? It's about Jack Parsons, who was a rocket scientist and involved in Thelema. Never heard of him and I guess the show really dives into the ritual work of the OTO. He has ties to L Ron Hubbard too? Hubbard married his ex and they stole money from him. Crazy.
