Everyone,  as you read Steven's post please remember he subscribes to ancient alienism.

For anyone that thinks that telling your children that a man brings them gifts and leaves them under a tree is a outright lie, it is. Doesn't matter if you're an atheist or Christian or a Muslim or Hindu or whatever if you tell your kid that Santa Claus bring some gifts you lie to your children. I've never told my child the story of Santa or the story of Jesus or the story of any of the gods that I work with. Because my religion is my personal experience I don't "witness" to my kid or my husband or anyone else. I do engage with people that ask legitimate questions and legitimately want to know what's going on in my spiritual practice.

Anyone that hasn't had a personal revelation and they're attending whatever religious service or church that they've been doing out of habit. Without that Revelation it does not become personal.

Marriage is a contract between two people and the state. It seems to me that if you can have a company with multiple owners then you should be have able to have a marriage with multiple partners. The issue becomes parents and children especially when you have a biological father and a biological mother and then maybe a non-biological father, mother, mother and father say.  I've seen how screwed step parents get in divorce court because there's no biological tie to the children. If you can figure that part out the multiple marriages should not be an issue.

Because he's an atheist pretending to be a Christian and he thinks that if he continues to portray the worst side of Christianity that he somehow representing general Christianity which makes him well you know I can't really say it or I'll get banned.

Criminal Court is for crimes, civil court is for ethics and moral responsibility. The victims families are more than welcome to sue him in civil court.

The problem is we use the word heaven which comes across as this special magical everything's perfect place when we should be saying the afterlife. The afterlife is just where your spirit goes when you die and some people go to a hospital because they need work done, some people go and get educated and classes some people go and they're already so much further along than others they become teachers so it's not this place where you sit and play a harp and tell God how great he is you're still working on yourself, you're still raising your vibration, you're preparing yourself for whatever the next stage is. That could be having a job, it could be coming back, it could be becoming a guide for someone.  And I certainly agree that various faiths have various afterlives and that those are options for pretty much anybody but if you work in those Fates there's a good chance you end up in one of those places but planets is an excellent way to explain them because that's how they're explained in Norse mythology. And I believe there's dimensions given for heaven it almost sounds like a box when you read it. 

Why would you want heaven with a god you hate? I don't worry about sin, it's a monotheist concept.

I believe it's impossible to be completely separate from the Creator at any point in time. Because we are basically parts of the Creator. Though I can certainly sympathize with the feeling that you've been abandoned spiritually by the Creator or god(s). Whenever a translation of any text is done with an agenda it creates problems. The Etta's that are most known today were translated by Snorrison who was a Christian and Incorporated and manipulated the text to fit Christian themes and symbology. There's all kinds of debates in the Heathen community about what's genuinely pagan/ animist and what's Christian influence. The story of Thor fighting the sea serpent, Jörmungandr, is a big one because there's no reason for Thor to fight the thing that represents the life force of the earth, his Mother. Now in the story of Ragnarok, which again is in itself Christian symbology reflecting the apocalypse, Thor then killing the sea serpent makes sense. 

The comment could very well have been added in as a way of justifying that God had abandoned Christ so he could go to hell and pay for sin. The fact is we have no idea what was said, wasn't said, what's true or not true based solely on the Bible because it's not written by God or even Jesus. That's why there should be things like reflection, study, meditation and not just the word of a book.

Atheists are not pagans. Atheist believe in no gods. Pagan is the label that implies a group of religions that are earth-based and in most situations polytheist.

Well when you get to be emperor of the world you get decide whatever human being in the world does. In the meantime nobody's getting called a bigot for talking about the things that you've mentioned. But I don't get the control another person's religious belief any more than I can control their bad behavior if that were true we wouldn't need prisons because every person is going to commit a crime would be taken out before they do it. 

To say though that nobody should be allowed to have a religion because some people with it are jerks is like saying no one should own a gun because people use them to kill other people. That's why someone gets called a bigot. Somebody in Sudan mutilates his daughter in the name of religion so in America Christian shouldn't be allowed to practice. Jews circumcised their son's so therefore pagans should not be allowed to practice.

The problem is is you think it should be sacred for everyone because it's sacred for you and your religion. Good Friday means absolutely nothing to me. And I'm not sure why you feel every single human being on the planet should have to stop what they're doing that day so it can be sacred for you. Halloween is actually very sacred for me and there is a whole spiritual practice done the same day as traditional cultural practices are done. So I can set up an alter and do a ritual on Halloween and then pass out candy and not feel like anything's not being held sacred because I'm holding it sacred. In my home, in my life, between me and my gods, Halloween is sacred. That should be what Christian holidays are for you. I know plenty of Americans who do all kinds of sacred traditions Christmas Eve and Christmas Day that honor Christ and honor his Father and then open presents. Because a holy day and a holiday are not the same thing. And Halloween is not American. Halloween comes from Europe it is a European tradition that has expanded to the European colonized areas. There's also a huge commercial component to it. But you don't have to engage in any part of that you don't want to but forbidding others then becomes tyranny.

While I agree with your statements I also feel there are cultural aspects to religion that might draw one in and should not be completely discounted. Especially if part of that religious worship involves ancestor veneration you certainly would want to practice in your own culture or at least include your own culture in that practice.

Does the Bible, Torah or Koran not address these?  If they do not then I imagine it's not important.

The forum is about religion. I don't have to discuss any gods I don't want to or any holy books I don't want to. And I'm not discussing anything with people that don't give a crap anyway you're just here to tell everybody that they're mentally ill and that they're illogical and that they're stupid and that you hate them so just quit. I  don't understand how you're allowed to get away with it because you're atheist and you're making fun of somebody that's a theist I really don't get it why the site tolerates it. Other than they're terrified to get rid of people that post a lot because then their numbers would be so low that's the only reason I can see you're allowed to get away with it.

I really don't understand you spending so much time replying to people who basically just ask the same things over and over and over again and just basically insult you the whole time they're doing it.
