Thy shalt not covenant thy neighbors wife.
I.e   so  If you live nextdoor to Muhammed and his 9 year old wife.

This will then revert to .
Dont have sex with kids.

Thank you.

Bible does not need to explicitly say "no sex child" in order for us to know bible/god/christians are against it.
Okay, stop.

First, the christians are irrelevant to this topic.

Show us where the Bible says that "sex with a child is wrong".

Bible explicitly said a lot against beastality, homosexuality, incest, trans, sex with another man's wife... and punishment for those...

but it forgot to say anything against sex with children or punishment for it?

Are you calling God an idiot?

Still wrong.
I know that you think its wrong. Please show us where the Bible says it.

Saying that Bible says "sex with children is wrong when you are not married to them" does not mean that Bible says "sex with children is wrong when you are married to them".

The topic deals with what Bible says about all cases, not just sex outside of marriage. Bible says that sex outside of marriage is wrong for all, not just children.

However, it doesnt mean that Bible says how all sex is wrong.

Repeat:
"It's not particularly mentioned either, but physical maturity is hinted in the Bible.
Giving us emphasis on the idea."

Old enough for love is 'somewhat' stated.

As I said, not particularly mentioned. Usually it differs from family to family on how they precieve it, but it's still hinted.

Donkeys are also hinted in the Bible. It doesnt mean you need a donkey to have sex by Bible's standards.

Where does it say in the Bible:
"You need to have breasts to have sex. No breasts, no sex!"?

Please, point us to that verse.... which would be awkward for flat chested adult girls...

Somewhat stated?

Okay, show us where it says in the Bible "children arent old enough for sex".

Bible doesnt say what it means by old enough for love. If it means old enough to want love, then Bible does include children in the equation.

Plus, the Bible did say in Song of Solomon to "not awake love until it awakes itself.".

Therefore, meaning until a person starts wanting love.

Bible Song of Solomon 8:4
"Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires."

Do onto others as you would have done to you.
This " golden rule " could be twisted and stretched to mean pretty much what you want.

Orrrrrr.

EVERYONES FAVE...
kings 2 :  22

And he went up from thence
And as he was going up by the way there came forth little children out of the city.
And mocked him and said onto him.
Go up tho bald head,
Go up tho bald head.
He turned around and looked at them and cursed on them in the name of the lord .

Then you know the rest ,    HE  has 2 bears coming out of the woods and mauling 42 kids to death.

Now This doesn't specifically say you can make sweet love with  kids.
buttttttt.
I detect a sinister undertone to it.
killing kids is totally fine.

I think that verse is not giving permission to kill those who mock you. The killing was done by God, and the Bible says that God always has a good reason for doing something.

Where in the Bible does it say that sex with a child is wrong?
Sex as the Bible defines it is always to be within the marriage covenant between a male and a female.  A man shall leave his parents and cleave to his wife. Sexual intercourse outside of the marriage covenant, literally or imaginatively is sinful.  "even if a man looks at a woman with lust in his heart he has committed adultery."
Since every example within the bible of marriage is between adults, it remains silent as to children.  (I don't subscribe to the view that Mary was a minor)

There does seem to be a certain age - around 20 when children become adults and responsible for their actions. The idiom, not knowing their right hand from their left", is often used to describe this age. Hence, the example of those within the nation of Israel who did not die in the wilderness did not extend to these children.

What does the Bible say about child marriage?
The Bible seems to indicate that when a nation is cursed and punished by God for its disobedience that its children would be killed by the enemy, or taken into captivity to become slaves at the whim of society and its laws.  Hence, it may be arguable that putting children into such a situation is a curse due to their sin.

What does the Bible say about punishment for a man who marries a child and has sex with her?
I suppose the question would be - how did the man go about organising or orchestrating the marriage with a child? Was it by stealing the child? Then it would be death. Was it as a soldier invading another country? Then it may well be a form of adultery. That too may bring the maximum penalty of death.  The question also must deal with the age of a child. There is also the question of arranged marriages. Godly parents would desire a godly husband for their children. And someone who would care for her and love her properly. Ungodly parents may well desire a good husband, but then again, maybe they might not have cared, so far as they received payment.

Bible does tell people to obey the government and follow the law of the land, but Bible doesn't say it's mandatory to follow human laws. Some countries allow child marriages. Some dont.
The Bible says to obey governments UNLESS they command you to sin.   You don't have to like their laws. You don't have to agree with their laws. You might find their laws frustrating and terrible laws. But Christians are obligated to OBEY the laws of the land they are in - UNLESS the government commands you to sin. Then in accordance with your conscience, you would submit to God.  Laws of nations that permit polygamy, incestuous relationships, adultery, pornography, fornication, homosexuality, pedophilia, bestiality, sex with other objects, de-facto relationships, inter alia, are laws that Christians ought to submit to God and not human governments.  This would include sex with minors.

The Bible clearly prohibits sex with one's own children, siblings, mother-in-law, and other close family relationships.  It NEVER condones the violation of the vulnerable. It never condones "forcing oneself on another".  Yes, there are examples where it happens, but they are soundly condemned.

Well, no. Plus, please stick to the topic. This topic is about the Bible, as already mentioned for 10 times.
Where in the Bible does it say that we should stick to the topic?

Pedophilia is illegal, morally reprehensible, and a violent act that does irreversible damage to children.

Also, Fuck You.

Where does the bible say that consuming drugs is wrong? Where does the bible say that spying is wrong? Where does the bible say that...

I don't know what you're getting at with this thread, but it's hillarious. 😆

And just so you know, pedophilia is punished with prison in all the western civilization.

I am not going to defend pedophilia. That would get me banned.

We are talking about what the Bible says tho, and if it says what you say.

We are just talking about what the Bible says. Of course, there are plenty of things Bible doesnt mention, but we are talking about if the Bible says that sex with children is wrong.

If it doesnt say it, then of course it could be debated why the Bible left it out.

The Bible does not say that sex before the age of 20 is wrong, so when saying "responsible for their actions", the Bible does not tell us anything about sex with children being wrong.

The Bible seems to indicate that when a nation is cursed and punished by God for its disobedience that its children would be killed by the enemy, or taken into captivity to become slaves at the whim of society and its laws.  Hence, it may be arguable that putting children into such a situation is a curse due to their sin.
That is about slavery, not marriage. Nowhere does the Bible say that marriage is slavery. Even if it did, the Bible does not exactly condemn slavery.

The Bible clearly prohibits sex with one's own children, siblings, mother-in-law, and other close family relationships.  It NEVER condones the violation of the vulnerable. It never condones "forcing oneself on another".  Yes, there are examples where it happens, but they are soundly condemned.
Can you show us where the Bible says that "sex with children is wrong"?

I know that Bible says how incest is wrong, but what does the Bible say in cases that arent incest?

Lol. Mary, the mother of Jesus, got married at around 13yo according to some studies, which was very common back then.

The problem with this thread is that BK assumes the bible was written by God's inspiration, so he expects to find everything on it, which is ludicrous.

And I think that proves Christianity has no solid foundations. A pedophile could be a Christian and abuse children at the same time given that "the bible doesn't condemn it".

Nobody can seriously argue that the average age of marriage was 20 back then.

Plus, Bible saying that a person is "not being responsible for own actions until 20" does not mean that the Bible says how all actions done to that person before 20 are wrong.

"The age of being responsible for actions" is not even mentioned in the Bible. However, being responsible for one's own actions only means that Bible says how individual is to be more punished for sin he commits. It does not say anything about marriage.

Lol. I already responded to o.p. why ask again?

Christians are not irrelevant. From a third party/neutral position on religion, christians formulated the bible. Christian theology and bible go hand and hand. You cant rule one with out the other.

Thats like playing a game without that game's set rules. Or to use the rules without the board or pieces.

Other people already pointed out that some laws overlay and would apply to children. Thats nothing new and is why HISTORICALLY you dont see sex with "child" a practice relevant to judiasm Or christianity.

Those who did practice the act were punished. If we see this in history and people who follow bible say its morrally wrong. Then its wrong.

Again what is your point?

I mean Christian doctrines are not good enough to sustain the entire religion by itself for too long, it has a lot of ridiculous flaws that it's easy to question it nowadays.

I foresee the decline of religions including Christianity.

Great part of this time people lived in ignorance and subjugation which is the only way a religion can endure. Now things have changed for good and people are waking up from the deceiving dream of religions.

It's my view that religion has held many intelligent thoughtful people,
My view that much morality, philosophy, has 'come out of religion.

'Many ancient people, thoughtful, 'brilliant,

'Seems to me a mistake to think of ancient people as 'pure ignorant thoughtless.
History is a testament to their works, inventions, continual progress.
Shoulders of giants, 'maybe.

It's hard for me to determine.
. . .

But the Bible for example,
Contains 'much wisdom, thought, consideration of the past, theory and argument.
. . .

Many people 'always thinking,
Whether now or back then,
Looking for game theory of what 'functions best in life,
Looking for what values speak in their heart, and how they might be expressed.

Tell us which law in the Bible says that its wrong to have sex with children
Again, laws do not need to say specificly x is wrong, and then go through an entire list, a to z, what is wrong.

Here are scriptures that apply to your question. https://www.openbible.info/topics/pedophiles

Then why are other laws mentioned?
Because those are the laws that:
A. Cover a variety of sins under an umbrella system. Like how fornication is a sin and children are not of marrying age - therefore one sins if they have sex with children. Its a given.

B. Law stated was a greater issue. Where as homosexuality. May have been more popular and a greater issue than pedophilia.

Consder Greece demographics. Athens was known to have pedophilia, it was popular there. Sparta did not have pedophilia historically routed in their society. Neither did Judiasm. However, the surrounding areas and gods were known to concentrate more heavily on homosexuality/sex with same gender and human sacrafice. Ergo these things were a greater concern.

Use words of the Bible, not words of followers of the Bible
I use the words of those who created the bible and sustained tradition for thousands of years. They wrote it, they can explain it.  Just as any author can explain his or her own written book.

But nnnooooo. Too much evidence that conflicts with o.p. We can'ts have that now.  We mustn't negate precious! Silly hobbits.

Okay, so show us where the Bible says that.

You know, it would be very nice if you stopped confusing your words with words of the Bible.

Bible says to multiply. Children can get pregnant. But you dont see me claiming that Bible says that people should marry children.
