Have you ever heard of this guy and his music? Man, I've come to listen to him sing and he really sucks, seriously. I wanted to crunch my balls out of desperation. He has no idea how to sing but he's the most popular among the youth.
What the fuck is going on?

I will start with myself.
Theme Song: P Money - Shook
Closest Fictional Character: Jaime Lannister
Exaggerated Overview:
A complex combination of ruthlessness and sentimentality, RM is known for his willingness to take almost anyone on and doesn't necessarily care too much about what people think of him despite being cocky.
Politically and religiously, RM represents a 'mystical' stance that incorporates pragmatism mixed with mercy and care in a strange concoction that he sees as morally justifable ruthlessness. This also sums up how he approaches debating in the formal arena. RM is less concerned with having the last word in conversation and more concerned with seeming witty enough or arguing well enough before letting things be.
Some find him intelligent, others find him cringey, no one truly knows what to make of him. He may have a soft core beneath a harsh exterior or may have a harder core beneath said softness.
Strengths:
- Extremely energetic and passionate
- Witty and cunning, unpredictable as an opponent
- Somewhat charismatic and quick to welcome newer members (even if it is done in a harsh way)
- Courageous, while some of his fights are easy he is also one of the only experienced members to not flinch too much from the opportunity to challenge a fellow 'Titan' of the site.
Weaknesses:
- Fragile Ego, even though he masks it at times he is sensitive to insults to his ability or self-worth, this can lead him to overreact
- Impulsivity is his fuel, when it goes well it goes brilliant but this also means that if he lacks the 'fire' to debate in the middle of a debate he finds it extremely difficult to keep it going. He debates as a passionate spar, not simply for the win at least not all the time.
- Chaotic nature puts people who prefer structure and monotony at extreme odds with him. There is probably not a single member that enjoys conformity and structure that is allied with RM.
- Bluntness, which he would call honesty, can cause significant abrasion with members and even be interpreted as direct insult at times. He works hard to avoid this but he isn't one to pussyfoot and never will be, at least not by nature.

I'd say a contender for my favorite is the Thor movie soundtrack:
It's so grand and majestic with the brass instrumentation and big drums. As a former trombone player it definitely ticks all my boxes.
What about you folk?

Hello and welcome!
Thank you all for submitting your songs to me. There were some that I already loved that I got to listen to again, some new ones I really enjoyed, and fortunately none that I actively disliked! I saw the idea for this game and really liked it because it allows us all to discover some new music while also making it kinda fun in a game format.
Scoring
Scoring
My personal scoring system is more or less as follows:
- 0.0-1.9: This song either did not fit the category or it was terrible. Maybe both.
- 2.0-3.9: I disliked this song but it was tolerable. Will probably never listen again.
- 4.0-5.9: If this song came on I probably wouldn't skip it, but I wouldn't seek it out either. These songs were okay, I neither actively liked nor disliked them.
- 6.0-7.9: These songs are relatively enjoyable. I'd put them on a playlist if they fit the playlist well, or would seek this song out to play it if I'm in the right mood.
- 8.0-9.9: I really like this song. Maybe I already know it and it's a song I really enjoy, or maybe it's something I listened to for the first time and liked quite a bit.
- 10.0: This is a song that is or just became one of my all time favorite songs.
- The scoring for the covers category is a bit different. It's some combination of my opinion on the song and how it stacks up to the original. For example, if I think your version is a 7, but the original is a 9, that hurts your score. If I think your version is a 5, but the original is a 4, it helps your score. It's not as formulaic as the scoring for the other categories.
Some Results (No Spoilers)
- The highest score I gave was a 10. Apparently I was stingier than I thought with anything above 9, because there were only two of those.
- The lowest score I gave was a 3.2.
- The category that scored best, on average, was dead artists with an average of 8.54, and your favorite artists were the second highest with 8.08.
- The category that scored lowest was the one without words, probably unsurprisingly. I expected this, to be honest.

I wonder what Corey Taylor meant when he talked of the baton being passed to Imagine Dragons from Nickelback. Slipknot had been struggling a lot to keep themselves together. I'm bringing this up after a year because the contemporary hate on a band had to be attributed to popular comments like this.
First of there is a certain media exaggeration about ID that they are a Rock band although they are not and they never claimed to be one. They always preferred to be an Alternative generic. Some may call them a pop band but still I believe they pertain to a certain variation within the pop spectrum itself. Their earlier productions gave out a rock impression in some way and so when they entered mainstream they went with the flow of being called a rock band but who wouldn’t? When you are selling and are on the top of the charts with a huge fanbase why wouldn’t you want to go with the flow?
Secondly, the idea of them being overrated has flooded through the hardcore rock and metal fans. While that's a legit conversation to engage in, I would like to point out that some of their songs (of course the recent ones starting from Evolve) might be so overrated in the radio culture that the actual good songs from the package are left out and so its very obvious that the basis of toxicity towards the artists in this case is again the overwhelming exaggeration of the media.
Thirdly, there is another accusation that ID has a similar style and lyrical pattern in their music- although I don’t think they entertain similar style as I mentioned before, I'd agree being a fan that they follow the same strain of pattern in all their later songs. Same EDM beats and electropop inclusion have earned them quite a bit of backlash. But on the flip side, their lyrics are actually far better than most of the melodramatic lyrics today.
Fourthly, if you haven’t listened to all their songs you can't judge by the media propaganda on its own. The Smoke+Mirrors was actually a legendary album and Night Visions was very close. Evolve had some unexposed good songs but just for the selected few got the setback from metal communities. Origin though sucked except for only a few songs on the list. All in all, it is to be understood that they have a certain fanbase that you can't change. Since they are not the Rock you want them to be and they don’t claim themselves to be what you want them to be, it is almost illogical to hate on a band that is now highly successful more than most in the scene today. Resorting to accept subjectivity is what humans haven’t learnt yet it seems. In fact, sometimes the hate comes off pure jealousy from a particular fanbase of pure Rock band who couldn’t make the spotlight while ID came under within an unbelievably short span of time.
I'm not an expert in the music area and I don’t even want to be one. Being knowledgeable of a silly topic like this wont earn me anything formidable. I don’t think I ever for once in my life produced hate comments on any band or musician for what they do. Because I always feel that's not my place. Imagine Dragons actually played a huge role in my life alongside Coldplay and Pink Floyd to uplift my spirit whenever I was down.

I will be revealing the results bit by bit, Round by Round.
I will also be giving my own song choice for each Round (not the one that necessarily fits the category best but the one that I'd enter into the competition with RM as the host, aiming to score high).

I found this game on another site and it looked fun. Hopefully we'll get some good entries and maybe someone else can host another once mine is done!
The Rules
I will provide eight categories of songs. You have to select a song you think I might like that fits with each theme and submit it via PM (Discord works too). I will score each of your songs on a scale of 1-10. I'll make all scores public at the end and whoever has the highest score wins! Deadline will be July 4, and I'll update with a list of people who have submitted as they come in.
My Music Taste
There is very little that's an instant pass from me. I really like rap, country, folk, indie, rock, alternative, etc. The genres I like least are pop, classical, harder EDM, and heavy metal, but even those I enjoy a good portion of the time, so really don't shy away from anything!
The Categories
- A song about a mode of transportation (Bikes, planes, cars, trains, etc)
- A song by an artist that has died
- A song with a number in the title
- A song by your favorite artist
- A cover that's better than the original
- A one-hit wonder
- A song without words
- A song by an artist from a non-English speaking country (the lyrics, if any, can be in English, but it has to be the artist's second language)
Again, submit via PM or Discord message. Deadline is July 4. First submission is final. Obviously easier if you share links! :D
