For those who remember me, what's up? It's been forever! For those who don't remember me, or just haven't met me, I'm an old DDO user who came here shortly after DART became a thing. I wracked up over 10k forum posts on DDO but haven't even come close to that here. I've mostly moved on from debate sites and forum mafia, but i still check in every now and then. 

Anywho, I'm supposed to be working on three papers that are due tomorrow and Tuesday, but I'm super lazy and don't wanna. So please, ask me anything <3

I watched all three movies last night, hadn't seen the first two since they were in theaters, and had never seen the third one. All three were great, the first was my favorite. A bitch cried at the end ngl. 

Does anyone else find it really cute when girls wear your clothes? Not like completely dressed in your clothes, but wearing your hats or jackets and stuff like that. idk, I just find it really cute and nice when I let girls put on my jacket or when they take my hat and put it on and stuff like that. I figure this is a pretty common thing lol. 

One of my earbuds died. I have to buy new ones.

So a little under two months ago, I got to experience what an actual relationship was like. Met a girl who was super gorgeous, sweet, and checked most of the squares under my "I would like to date you" chart. It was something fairly new to me, since my past relationships had been those high school ones where you kinda like someone, go out on two dates, claim you're dating, and then break up before the third date because of drama. This was different, it was an actual relationship.

For several weeks, I saw her almost every day. We would hang out, go for walks, get lunch/dinner, watch the occasional show (she got me into Stranger Things), and do other weird couple things. I was honestly really happy, despite some of the problems that were already arising. They weren't dealbreakers or anything, nor a problem that was actually a problem, at least not yet, so everything was fine. We were both really happy and whatnot.

Of course, things eventually began to go downhill. The problems weren't super major, but a few things suddenly began to happen all at once, and after about five or six weeks together, we broke up. The details are personal, and what followed between us is personal, so I won't delve into it. All you need to know is that we broke up and it crushed me. It wasn't a situation where either of us wanted it to happen, but we both realized it was probably inevitable and decided to break it off before we further damaged our relationship. Yes, she was crushed too, but I won't share the details on her end, and I'll keep my own details brief.

For a while, I was depressed. In some cases, I still am. Thankfully we both have winter break to move on, but the entire experience left me with several questions: Why did this have to happen/why is it happening? What could I have done differently that could have prevented this? Can we try again and get back together? Will this affect any future relationships I have? ... Essentially, why can't I change the past, and what is my future?

In all, I reached conclusions for many things on my own, including the question in the topic name: Are relationships worth it? I'll focus on this now, instead of my other questions I had.

I felt terrible, I was crushed, and I never wanted to feel that way, not now and not ever. For those of you who know me, you probably know I'm not used to being sad or depressed. This wasn't necessarily a new feeling, but it was an extremely unwelcome one. I didn't try to kick it out by abusing substances or offing myself, thankfully (I still have a brain). However, in my case, my appetite dropped so much that I would go an entire day on a single banana or something similar in portion. This went on for about five days, I began to lose weight and sleep because of it, and I eventually realized it was a problem and had to ask people to remind me to eat. It worked out and now I'm on a normal diet again. Regardless, those five days were hell, and it made me wonder if it was worth trying a relationship again, whether with this girl or a different girl. Of course, I also craved attention and affection, because I'd gotten used to having it. I now realize why a lot of people put themselves through hell in a relationship, and while I personally don't want to fall down that path, I do understand it.

Despite what I went through, I've concluded that I still think relationships are worth it, so long as you don't rush into them. This was a problem I experienced with this relationship, which was rushing into things, even forcing myself to do stuff that I wasn't always ready for or prepared for, and it screwed things up. More importantly, when you do break up with someone, take some time away from relationships to collect yourself. Falling out of one relationship and rushing to get into another is not a good idea, both for your sake and the person you broke up with's sake. 

Bottom line, the happiness I felt during my relationship made me realize that they are worth it, even if they don't always work out. In the end, you had an awesome time, you learned new things, and you were able to spend it with someone that, even after it was all said and done, was awesome when you were together with them. Seriously, I've got a lot more confidence in myself in several aspects of my life now that I've had this chance, even if I'm still kind of down in the dumps.

Yes I'm aware that six weeks isn't that long but it was my first real relationship. Also this post is really broken, I just kinda typed what was in my head. I'd fix it but eh, you get the message.

tl;dr - I went through a break up. It sucked, but I still realized that the happiness I felt when in the relationship makes the relationship worth it. Both the relationship you just lost and any future relationships are always worth it, even if they don't always work out.

Over there, through those expensive and possibly bullet-proof glass windows, we have the Captain's office, where he does his work and listens to loud symphony music. Opposite of that we have the holding cell- Hey! Hey! Get your hands out of your pants mister! That is very dirty! What would your mother have to say?

Okay, I apologize that you all had to see that, but I promise the rest of the tour will be much more work friendly and much less sexual!

Moving on, right there is the break room, with the comfy couch and the vending machines and that... weird thing on the wall... And down that hallway are a bunch of closets, the interrogation room! Oh, and that door right there leads into the briefing room, where we talk about crime and mysteries that need solving. It's like a giant mystery machine, only no dogs and smoking weed is illegal at this current time... God the 70s were cool!

And now, for the most important piece of the puzzle to our precinct, the detectives! Here's where they work, doing all their cool detective-y stuff, like helping people retrieve their stolen goods, or solving gruesome and horrifying murders! How about we go say hello!

yo who got the text 10 minutes ago?

Let's say that, you the parent, decide to not teach your child about color. Let's say that, for the sake of the scenario, no outside force tries to intervene or attempts to mention color around this child. Putting aside all the morals and whatnot around this, how would this child turn out?

If I were to take this child at the age of eight, and said child had never even heard of color, and then asked him to describe the sky, how would he answer? Would he try to describe the clouds and their shapes? Would he try to describe it as "bright" or "light"?

I think a lot of people who hear me say this think I'm being negative, pessimistic, etc. Sure, it sounds like it, but I often mean it in a more positive manner when I say it in this way:

Everything decays. That sounds edgy, but it's true. Everything in nature will eventually decay, and it's comforting to know that because of all the trash we've thrown out into the environment, or the harm we've caused. Everything we've done will eventually disappear and become part of the earth.

Normally, from 2013-2017, I mainly used youtube for my music. At school, youtube was blocked but you know how students find ways? Basically soundcloud and spotify were the alternatives and I just so happened to be introduced to soundcloud first. So I used that. Once spotify and soundcloud were blocked, I had no reason to use either.

Last week I downloaded spotify and made a playlist with all the music I liked... and now I'm wondering why I didn't use it first...

I'm about to get hit by a massive cat2 storm, planning on running around in the rain. Unfortunately I doubt we'll get strong winds here but if I don't see a lot of flash floods I'll be surprised. 

(I mean I'm pretty far inland rn so I'm sure I'll be fine. RIP the coastline though. I fully expect my home to be flooded)

Not many people use it yet, but the site does have a discord (can be found in the bottom right). However, it's new and not really... finished. So I come to you guys.

1. What should the rules for this discord be? I figure basic TOS (no doxxing, try to be somewhat civil, etc) will already exist, but what do you guys want in the rules? 

Obviously I won't implement everything, especially if it's dumb or irrational, but I do want your opinions (for those who care lmao)

Here's the example, based off a senior in my anthro class who majored in philosophy. My prof asked if him holding a pen was a fact.

The student replied "Not if you're asking a blind person because they can't see it."

So what do you guys think? Personally I think it's a fact because it wasn't about whether or not you could see the pen, but if he was holding it, which he was. I'm sure there's a lot that can go into this but yeah that's my tought
