Christianity's role in African Slavery
-->
@Mopac
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

And so Christ voluntarily went to the cross, enduring humiliation, rising from the dead trampling down death by death.

If you were honest, you would not take something for the end that is not truly the end. The one you call liar and lunatic went to the cross even for your sake.

A common mistake that all Christians make is believing Jesus was sacrificed for their sins. Not  true.

jesus was crucified and not sacrificed. Human sacrifice was banned by God. Sacrifices  had to be offered in the Temple and  performed by the high priest. But Jesus was crucified by the Roman guards  in a public place.

By all means, lead by example.

How about some biblical zingers?

The biblical curse that condemned Africans to slavery continues. Slavery is still practiced in Africa. African slaves can be bought in Libya for $400 each. But there is a new plague on the African people. Should Africans be celebrating?

Aids could kill 90 million Africans, Says UN

Nearly 90 million Africans could die from Aids by 2025 without huge international investment, The UN said today, But 67 million people in Africa would still probably die of the disease.
The prediction from UNAids was that the African death toll from Aids would continue to rise no matter what was done but that 16 million people could be saved from death and 43 million from HIV infection if $200bn ("104bn). That sum is far more than donor nations have pledged thus far.

The UN agency report, Aids in Africa, Examined three potential scenarios for the continent in the next 20 years, Depending on the international community's contribution to fighting the epidemic. Even in the best case scenario, With donor nations contributing $200bn, UNAids warned the worst effects of the epidemic would still be to come.

More than 25 million Africans have already been infected with HIV, The virus that causes Aids. However, HIV infections could soar to 90 million, More than 10% of Africa's population, If more is not done soon to combat infection. UNAids estimated the number of Aids orphans could grow from the current 11 million to 27 million by 2025.

Such an outcome had enormous security implications, The agency said. "All these kids growing up without any reference point, They are going to be a very easy reserve for any warlord that comes along, " the executive director of UNAids, Peter Piot, Said.

"In today's world, Aids threatens to destabilise certainly Africa, And perhaps eastern Europe, In a big way. That affects the wealthy countries in terms of migration, Decreasing markets and in terms of the fact that maybe troops will be sent [to restore peace] - all types of expensive consequences, " he said.

Researchers determined that even with greatly increased funding and better treatment, The number of Africans who will die from the virus is likely to reach 67 million.

"What we do today will change the future, " the report concludes. "These scenarios demonstrate that, While societies will have to deal with Aids for some time to come, The extent of the epidemic's impact will depend on the responses and investment now. "

"The scenarios are not predictions, They are plausible stories about the future, " Mr Piot said. They "highlight the various choices that are likely to confront African countries in the coming decades, " he said.

The worst scenario, According to the report, "offers a disturbing window on the future death toll across the continent, With the cumulative number of people dying from Aids increasing more than fourfold. . . The number of children orphaned by the epidemic will continue to rise beyond 2025. "

Aids already has a devastating impact on the continent. UNAids has reported that life expectancy in nine countries has dropped to below 40 because of the disease. There are 11 million Aids orphans in Africa, And 6, 500 people are dying from the disease each day. In 2004, 3 million people were newly infected, The agency said.

"If, By 2025, Millions of African people are still becoming infected with HIV each year. . . It will not be because there was no choice, " the report said. "It will be because, Collectively, There was insufficient political will to change behaviour at all levels from the institution, To the community, To the individual and halt the forces driving the Aids epidemic in Africa. "

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

The bible tells us it did not end well for Jesus the liar and lunatic.

Why don't you go drink some of that holy sewer water from the Ganges or something and get mystical. Do some breathing exercises afterwords, and be mezmorized by the spiritual delusions you take as visions. Maybe one day you'll wake up, realize you are god, and make some Maseratis off of gullible yoga pants wearing housewives from California who still haven't figured out that stretching is something you do before exercising.

Africa is a basket case.
Sexual violence is a major problem in African countries. A local organization in Zaria, Nigeria, found that 16 per cent of patients with sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) were girls under the age of five, a sign of sexual assault. In the single year 1990, the Genito-Urinary Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe, treated more than 900 girls under 12 for STDs. Such assaults, observes a WHO publication, put "African women and girls at higher risk of sexually transmitted diseases [including HIV/AIDS] than men and boys."
Out of the 34 million HIV-positive people worldwide, 69% live in sub-Saharan Africa. There are roughly 23.8 million infected persons in all of Africa. 91% of the world's HIV-positive children live in Africa. More than one million adults and children die every year from HIV/AIDS in Africa alone.
Sub-Saharan Africa alone accounted for an estimated 69 percent of all people living with HIV and 70 percent of all AIDS deaths in 2011. ... As of 2011, HIV has infected at least 10 percent of the population in Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

There have been African Kings, and there have been Brahmins who are slaves to their own ego.
African slaves were owned and traded by Arabs, Romans, Christians for over 1,700 years. Arabs (1,300 years), Christians (400 years). You can still buy African slaves in Libya for  $400 each.

2nd largest communion of those calling themselves Christians in the world.

Since you are dishonest and don't care about what is true, I suggest you go off somewhere and stand on one foot until you are granted divinity.

China and India are the two largest populations in the world and they don't call themselves Christians.

What?! You ignored ALL that for something irrelevant.

The only  significance the number 7 has in the bible is the Lord rested on the seventh day.

Genesis 2:2 And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work.

It was a big deal that God took a day off. Look at the mess he created on the days he worked!!

No go areas in the UK

Stephen wrote:
There are what people are calling no go zones here in the UK, but mention this to an apologist for islam and they will call you an outright liar.
Apparently he is not alone in that view.

Almost a third of British people now believe the myth that there are “no-go zones” where non-Muslims cannot enter, according to a report warning of mounting intolerance.
(The Independent newspaper, oct 2018)
a8588226.html

But no one seems to know where these no-go areas are, depite 'great swaths of the UK that have been taken over by Muslims' (stephen's words).

I have to correct Stephen on one point - I am not an apologist for islam. Yassine is, I am not.  The last thing I want is an Islamic Republic of Britain.

What I am is 'anti-xenophobic'.  Stephen calls  me an apologist because I have tried to counter some of the more egregious fibs told about Islam and Muslims because - due to the unstinting efforts of Stephen and his like minded friends - anti-Muslim feeling is ratcheting up.  I don't fear Britain becoming an Islamic state, but I do fear it becoming an un-liberal and intolerant one.

The prospect of an Islamic Britain is a bogey man - it isn't on the most distant horizon.  But a Britain that has abandoned its traditions of tolerance to appease baseless fears peddled by xenophobes in the near future is very much on the cards.

It is reasonable to have no go zones in the UK. When there were none the Muslim Arabs bought out the neighbourhood.

Christianity's role in African Slavery
-->
@Mopac
80% of Africans embrace Christianity. The same or higher percentage of African Americans are Christians. If slavery was so bad why did African slaves embrace the religion of their white Christian masters?

According to pastor Ray Hagins African slaves took to preaching Christianity because it empowered them over other Africans. But Christianity never made them equal to their white masters because they remained as slaves.

It is quite possible the thought of going to heaven to be with their white Christian masters was also very appealing to Africans slaves who knew of no other compelling religion that guaranteed this continuity.

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times."PSALM 12:

The number 7 and multiples thereof play a significant role in biology (the gestation periods of mammals, the incubation periods of birds, and the development of insects can all be measured in multiples of seven days); in chemistry (seven periods in the periodic table of elements); in music (the seven steps of the octave); in our calendar (seven days in the week); and in light (the seven colours of the rainbow). After these discoveries were made, those scientists claimed that they were merely finding out the physical laws and patterns which our Creator had already designed (ROMANS 1:20).

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." GENESIS 1:1

The Hebrew sentence consists of exactly 7 words, which have exactly 28 (4x7) letters. There are 3 nouns: God, heaven and earth. If we add together the numerical value of each of the letters in these three Hebrew nouns, we get exactly 777 (111x7). The numerical value of the Hebrew word "created" is 203 (29x7). The first three words contain the subject, with exactly 14 (2x7) letters, and the four remaining words contain the object with also exactly 14 letters. The Hebrew words for heaven and earth have 7 letters each. The value of the first, the two middle and the last letters in the sentence is 133 (19x7). The total value of the first and last letter of every word in the verse is 1,393 (199x7). The value of the first and last letter of the first and last word in this verse is 497 (71x7). The value of the first and last letter of each word in-between is 896 (128x7).
Trippy,right

The only  significance the number 7 has in the bible is the Lord rested on the seventh day.

Genesis 2:2 And by the seventh day God had finished the work He had been doing; so on that day He rested from all His work.

I believe John F. Kennedy was the first Catholic president of the United States.  He was very popular, and probably best known for his unfortunate assassination and aspiring to put a man on the Moon, a vision which was realized within the decade as he'd intended in 1969.  During the period in American history from the founding till the civil war spanning the better part of a human lifetime, Catholicism was a small minority and although they had rights and won representation in high office you can imagine that a predominantly protestant nation broken off from the British during the age of enlightenment had many viewing their institutions with skepticism.  Just to throw out another random fact, our nation at least at one time was referenced in a heresy coined "Americanism" by the Pope.  The debates on slavery would have mainly been conducted by protestants, probably citing a King James Version when applicable.  If it is of any consequence to you, the deep south is I believe, the least Catholic part of the United States to this day.  As a result of continued immigration, some of the most Catholic areas are probably in places like New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts

Africans were happier then as slaves.Today Africa is a basket case. Africa is the rape, AIDS, crime, starvation and corrupt centre of the world. Nothing good ever came out of Africa.

@RationalMadman

Jesus was Lucifer.

People assume that Jesus was some new being and that Lucifer was 'sent down' as the Devil but this assumption is so utterly ridiculous as the first thing they say about Jesus is that he's coming down with fire.

Satan is described solely as the enemy of Jesus, not God. If you read the entire New Testament, you'll find that Satan is never once said to be God's enemy but instead Jesus' biggest obstacle.

Satan is the OT God, try and understand it that way.

Jesus rebuked Satan so obviously they are two separate beings. But Satan outsmarted God in the Garden of Eden by proving God was lying when he said they would die if they ate the forbidden fruit. Eve ate it and didn't die. She then gave some to Adam and he didn't die. Awkward!!!

Should scripture be read by all?
-->
@Mopac
So the conclusion here is that it is not fit for unbelievers and heretics to interpret scripture. Scripture belongs to The Orthodox Church, and it is what The Church teaches about scripture and its meaning that matters.

Indeed, all Christian heresies make use of scripture. Yet, they twist scripture to conform to their false doctrines. Likewise, atheists and other unbelievers use scripture to avoid understanding what we really believe, instead arrogantly telling us what we believe.

Yet our religion is simple and pure. Our religion is loving God, and loving mankind who is made in the image of God.

And The Orthodox Church is the very church of Jesus Christ and The Apostles, the church that all others can be traced back to deviation from.

The reason people left the Orthodox Church and formed other Churches is because the Orthodix Church is no longer relevant. It's still stuck in the past.

Christians  struggle to explain what is the lengeth of a day in Genesis. Is it a 24 hour day, is a 1000 years equal to a day or a billion years equal to a day?

Ok and, people can believe in different things and be accepted by God, hence why there are Catholics, Protestants, Baptists, etc

We don't blame you for not defending the Bible considering the biblical curse condemned Africans to slavery. But 80% of Africans are Christians.
Here are some biblical zingers.

Biblical zingers are the best!!! It's a message to Christian and since 80% of Africans like Ethang are Christians. The biblical zingers go to Africa. Lol!!
God made Africans black and ugly. Then he condemned them to slavery and now he sends them plagues after plagues. There is humour in God's actions.

Biblical zingers!
But what about the plagues that have been repeatedly visited upon the African people starting with the Biblical curse that condemned Africans to slavery. The plagues on Egypt an African country. And now the humanitarian crisis in store for Africans. Are they just biblical zingers

The biblical curse of Noah condemned Africans to slavery. Genesis 9. African slaves were owned and traded by Arabs, Romans, Christians and you can still buy African slaves from Libya for $400 each. Slavery is still practiced in Africa.

How the bible continues to get it right!!! By 2050 the majority of Christians will be living in Africa as Christianity shrinks in other countries"

African American babies rapidly becoming a vanishing species
Black women have highest abortion rate than any group
Abortion has been a controversial issue among African American women long the before the 1973 Supreme Court ruling in Roe vs. Wade. Very often, Black women must navigate political barriers, Racism and cultural expectations of motherhood when seeking to end a pregnancy.

The numbers are alarming. African American women are reportedly five times more likely than White women to undergo abortions. This striking difference is sometimes attributed to a suggested higher rate of unintended pregnancies when compared to White women,

The CDC has also reported that during the 1970s roughly 24 percent of all U. S. Abortions were performed on Black women. That figure rose to about 35 percent during the 1980s and '90s and stands at 37 percent today. Last year, A Pew Research survey found that there is not much of an ideological divide between Blacks and Whites when it comes to abortion and although a Black woman is reportedly five times more likely than a White woman to undergo the operation,  Black women are more than twice as likely to live in poverty than white women.

There is no argument against The Ultimate Reality, you are talking nonsense.

You can do nothing apart from God, you couldn't even exist. While you do indeed blaspheme, in the end you mock yourself, and not God. For on the last day when the light of Truth reveals all as it truly is, the futility of your arrogance before the one who created and sustains you will be revealed, and these lies you identify with will be as the rotting flesh that clings your sorrowful bones.

The only reality facing you is you are Black and according to Pastor Ray Hagin Christianity is a slave religion that Africans follow to their own detriment.

Pope John Paul II today apologized to black Africa for the involvement of white Christians in the slave trade.

The Pope's remarks came in an address to Cameroon intellectuals on their tasks in society and on the importance of integrating the Christian message with African culture.

John Paul said the task of Christians involved ''healing and compassion'' because ''the man who is in need, on the side of the road, is their brother, their neighbor.''

He continued, ''In the course of history, men belonging to Christian nations did not always do this, and we ask pardon from our African brothers who suffered so much because of the trade in blacks.''

The Pope asked his audience not to think that these failures invalidated the Christian message itself. ''The Gospel,'' he said, ''remains a call without equivocation.''

John Paul's statement came at the halfway point of his 12-day journey through Africa, which is to end in Morocco on Monday. The Pope's schedule next calls for a stop Wednesday in the Central African Republic before he flies to Zaire Wednesday night.

Earlier today, the Pope, in an exuberant mood, flew to Douala, the main port and financial center, for a mass and an address to young people.

He frequently teased and praised his audience, commenting on their chants and smiling when they interrupted him with cheers. At one point, after the crowd had done a brisk rendition of a hymn in Latin, the Pope complimented his audience for its mastery of Latin. He drew laughs and applause. The Pope's apology for slavery was part of a broad effort he is making during this journey to cast Christianity as a universal faith and not an import to Africa from Europe.

Was Jesus a liar and a lunatic?
Scriptural  verses that declared Jesus a demon possessed lunatic.

John 10:20 Many of them said, "He is demon-possessed and raving mad. Why listen to him?"

Mark 3:21 when his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, "He is out of his mind."

Jesus was deluded and believed God spoke through him.
John 12:49 For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken.

But when the people listened to the words he spoke they did not understand him, even his disciples struggled to understand him. Jesus had to explain to them in secret what he was saying in his parables. But he explained with more parables which suggests God was also incoherent and inarticulate and failed to communicate through Jesus. But we know God turned Moses who was slow in speech and mind into a leader and messenger. The problem was Jesus not God.

Mark 4:34 He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything.

Jesus was a notorious liar. Even John the Baptist expressed his doubts to Jesus and asked Jesus if he was really the promised one.
Jesus lied when he said John the Baptist was Elijah. John denied he was Elijah.

Here are the scriptures to back my claims. Jesus said John was Elijah, John denies he is Elijah.

Matthew 11:14
And if you are willing to accept what I say, he is Elijah, the one the prophets said would come.

In John 1:6"8 and John 1:19"28, John the Baptist denies he is Elijah. Yet in Matthew 17:9"13, Jesus implies that he was. Isn't this a contradiction?

John 1:21"They asked him, "Then who are you? Are you Elijah?"
He said, "I am not."
"Are you the Prophet?"
He answered, "No."

John expresses doubts Jesus is the promised one.
Matthew 11:2"When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples 3"to ask him, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?"

Jesus expresses his own doubts on the cross.

Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?").

We know Jesus was crucified for his blasphemous lies.
Jesus did not fulfill any prophesies. By his own account he did not come to change the laws of the prophets. He proved he was subjected to the laws even in his life and thereby validating the Mosaic law given to the Jews by God.
According to the Jewish law:
Deuteronomy 18:20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, is to be put to death."

It is clear Jesus did not fulfill the prophesies. Instead, He was subjected to the law and put to death as demanded of false prophets according to Mosaic law.

Jesus lied that he was to be sacrificed.

Human sacrifice was forbidden by God. So Jesus was not sacrificed.

Many argue Jesus's death was prophesied. But even Jesus's prophesies were not fulfilled.

1. Matthew 10:23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.

Jesus never fulfilled that promise.

2. Matthew 24:34
Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.

2000 years have passed and many generation have gone by yet his promise remains unfulfilled.

Jesus was a liar and a lunatic before and after his death. Unfortunately he could only be crucified once.

So why are Christians turning God into a liar and lunatic or turning a liar and lunatic into a God?

As a Vedantist raised in the Vedantuc tradition and trained in the reading of esoteric scriptures, Christian Theology and Islamic fundamentalist, I am not at liberty to speculate outside of scriptures. And the scriptures are clear that Jesus was tried, convicted and put to death for his blasphemous lies and lunacy.

So why are Christians perpetrating the delusions of a Jewish rabbi who was put to death for his delusional blasphemous lies?

We have to turn to our experts in tbe field of human behaviour. As a student of the behavioural sciences (CBT) I have also explored a diagnostic approach.

The point was that the Bible and mathematics support a very holy and brilliant book

The bible does not meet the math and science requirement of a 4th grader.

Christians  struggle to explain what is the lengeth of a day in Genesis. Is it a 24 hour day, is a 1000 years equal to a day or a billion years equal to a day?

Lies and nonsense.

The bible tells us Noah was an alcoholic. He woke up in his drunken state and found out what his youngest son(Ham) had done to him. Noah got the names confused and cursed Canaan instead. Canaan was not born or in the room when the incident happened.
Genesis 9 tells us Noah and his 3 sons Seth, Japheth and Ham had just gotten off the Ark when it came to a stop. No children were with them.

The concept of the Curse of Ham finds its origins in Genesis 9:

20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, And he planted a vineyard:
21 And he drank of the wine, And was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
22 And Ham, The father of Canaan, Saw the nakedness of his father, And told his two brethren without.
23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, And laid it upon both their shoulders, And went backward, And covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, And they saw not their father's nakedness.
24 And Noah awoke from his wine, And knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
27 God shall enlarge Japheth, And he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
" Genesis 9:20"27, King James Version

But Noah cursed Ham through his children. It was common practice then to curse people through their children. That was why Canaan was cursed.

Numbers 14:18 The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation.'

God is not mocked.
The Romans mocked, beat and ridiculed Jesus before crucifying him.

Pope also carries a cross to remind him of the history of God's failure. This is how he described the failure of the cross.

Pope Francis said during his whirlwind U.S. tour. "And if at times OUR EFFORTS AND WORKS SEEM TO FAIL AND PRODUCE NO FRUIT, we need to REMEMBER that WE ARE FOLLOWERS OF JESUS  ... and His LIFE, humanly speaking, ENDED IN FAILURE, THE FAILURE OF THE CROSS"

When you don"t understand something, when desperation hits you then look at the cross. THAT IS THE GREAT FAILURE OF GOD, THAT IS THE DESTRUCTION OF GOD, AND IT'S A CHALLENGE TO OUR FAITH.

Sounds irrelevant. Just like this topic. You should probably move on to other things.

Christianity's role in African slavery was as evil as the inquisition. Are you denying  your African history of slavery?
According to pastor Ray Hagin Christianity is a slave religion. Africans who follow Christianity are following a slave religion.

You keep bringing up the Pope of Rome despite me repeatedly telling you that the pope of Rome is technically a heretic to us Orthodox Christians.

When it comes down to it, we do not respect him as a bishop as his church is in schism.

The Pope is the elected leader of over a billion Catholics. He speaks to them and for  them. That Jesus ended on the cross crucified is the great failure of God.

He wouldn't like me then, and though for those reasons I don't disclose my sex or race, I can say that I am married and at least one of us is black!
My research was on Christianity's role in African slavery. It was an appropriate topic on a religion forum. It had nothing to do with my person opinion about Blacks. I have posted my research on Debateart.com without any Black revolt.
You can tell me which one of you is black.

Ethang isn't even black though

Ethang confessed he was African when he first joined DDO. But when my research on Christianity's role in African Slavery surfaced. He went into denial.

Ethang tried to join the DDO debating team but was rejected because he could not produce a valid home address or phone number.  That would not have happened if he was living in America as he claimed. The reason he was rejected was because the only address and phone number he could provide was his Ghana Africa address and phone number which is not recognized by DDO.

popculturepooka wrote: Want to formally debate me plon whether the canaanite massacre was a genocide or not (it was)? Or whether God had morally sufficient reasons for ordering genocide (there can't be any)?

Ethang replied: But anyway, I live in Ghana and I cannot get my phone number verified because Ghana isn't on the list of countries provided. I've written the mods but got no reply so I can't debate you on the formal stage anyway.

Ethang wrote: I have no debates because one must verify his address and the country in which I currently live is not in the list of countries provided. I have written the mod but as yet have not received a reply.

Synagogues existed before the destruction of the

Chrismation marks the new covenant, as well the full eucharist.

"And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
For this is my blood of the new testament(Greek word "diathéké", which means covenant), which is shed for many for the remission of sins."

It is only after the destruction of the temple in 70AD that synagogues and Rabbis appeared to fill the void.

jesus made a covenant with the cup he was drinking from.

Luke 22:20 In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is poured out for you.

"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

Doesn't help when the Pope declares the cross the great failure of God andyhat  Jesu's life ended in failure.
Even the Pope declared the cross was a failure of God.

It can not be helped if people are offended by The Truth.

“Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.
For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few."

The truth is all the disciples were put to death along with Jesus. The Jews rejected Jesus and the Gentiles crucified him. The Churches sprung up to fill a void after the destruction of the temple and Jerusalem. The Hellenic Jews were the first century Christians. Christianity is a continuation of Judaism but according to Gentiles.
The majority of the bible is still based on judaism. Dropping circumcision ended the covenant.

Here is a pretty good timeline that helps explain why the great schism was a result of the Pope of Rome's HERESY, and that is why they are not orthodox.

Of course, even today they are trying to "mend the schism", but until they abandon their heresy this will not be a good thing.

If they were to make amends, the papacy would resume its place of honor in the church

The Orthodox Church is in decline. so what is the point of pissing off more people.

This is simply a false narrative.

Here Paul writes of the gift of tongues, the gift of prophecy and the gift of knowledge (see 1 Cor. 13:1-2) and states that the Lord Jesus had revealed to him (1 Cor. 11:23; 15:3; Gal. 1:11,12) that a time was coming when these sign gifts were going to cease to operate.

The question has always been: when? When would these gifts cease?

This study focuses on that question—when did the sign gifts cease?

Arranging Paul’s letters in the order that he wrote them

The answer: The sign gifts ceased at the end of the Book of Acts. There is no record in Scripture of any of the sign gifts operating in any of the letters that Paul wrote after the end of the Acts period, and it is clear that the gift of healing had ceased since Paul could no longer heal even his closest co-workers after the close of the Book of Acts.

That has already been addressed. Your interpretation is wrong.

The Orthodox Catholic Church is The Christian Church. Roman Catholicism is a heretical offshoot that you mistake for our church.

So why is your followers shrinking whereas the Romsn Catholic Church still has over a billion. The people has chosen.

I don't think you yet understand what I mean when I say that they broke away from the Orthodox Church. You are talking about things you don't really have knowledge about.

The topic is The Biblical Curse of Ham. Instead of arguing  which church is the real church, try dealing with the actual scriptures that condemned Africans to slavery.

The. Church has greater authority than you when it comes to the interpretation of scripture. They are our writings. You do  not have the Holy Spirit to interpret our scripture correctly.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit ceased after the death of the apostles. It was no longer necessary because we now have the written knowledge to attain everything that Jesus promised. we can see the decline in these gifts like prophecy, gift of healing, etc. Paul gave a better explaination.

It is kind of hard to sing an entire psalm when your lungs are filling up with fluid and you are being crucified.
If what you are saying is true, how do you explain the other things in this psalm that apply to the situation?

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are loosened: my heart in the midst of my belly is become like melting wax.

My strength is dried up, like a potsherd; and my tongue is glued to my throat; and thou hast brought me down to the dust of death.

For many dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked doers has beset me round: they pierced my hands and my feet.

They counted all my bones; and they observed and looked upon me.

They parted my garments among themselves, and cast lots upon my raiment.

And isn't it clear that that this is referring to the church thst followed?

And my seed shall serve him: the generation that is coming shall be reported to the Lord.

And they shall report his righteousness to the people that shall be born, whom the Lord has made.

You are wrong. There are Jews who were witnesses who would have understood the psalm that was being referenced.

You do not really know our faith because you study scripture with an impure heart. You really study scripture to undermine Christianity.

Yet, Jesus Christ loves you and you can still turn away from error.

If God so intended he would have given Jesus all the time he needed to complete his recitation. But Jesus had just one conclusion to make and that was shockingly short.

Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour, Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" which means, "My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me?"

its called a lamentation or complaint for short.

The pope of Rome is the head of a fallen and schismatic church, his opinion matters little to me. He is not even Orthodox.

For God to become man at all, to take the form of creation is quite the condescension as it is.

But it was necessary that God should become death, so that by death, death would be conquered. And through His glorious resurrection fill all things, giving life to those in the tombs, and drawing all of creation into his flesh, deifying it together with him.

To the glory of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who is Lord of All and blessed forever and unto ages of ages amen.

That is the Roman Catholic Trinity. So the  Orthodox Church did not reject everything from the RC Church, only those doctrines it did not agree with.

Also, the west doesn't have hinduism wrong. Hinduism simply incorporates everything into itself and then pretends like it originared everything and that all religionscome from it.

What we understand as the most dangerous sin is the highest virtue in Hinduism.

Pride.

Jesus was so humble the Jews he was sent to save rejected him and the Romans crucified him.

Even the Pope declared the cross was a failure of God.

Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?").

The only line Jesus quoted was Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?").
Because that was the only part that captured what he felt on the cross.

"Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, Christ.
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be

Isaiah 53:3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief. Like one from whom men hide their faces, He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.

Luke 23:21 but they kept shouting, "Crucify Him! Crucify Him!" -

Matthew 27:46 About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?").

It is clear to me that your understanding of Christianity is superficial. Up until our conversing you were even unaware of the true Christian church.

I am familar with Roman Catholics and Methodists.  Never met anyone from the Ortnodox Church. Sorry to offend you. With 30,000 denominations of Christians you need to stand up to be recognized.

Nevertheless  the topic is about the curse of Ham. Do you accept the bible condemns Africans to slavery?

Another example of how the West got Hinduism wrong. Most of the Characters in the Bible  from Moses to Paul to Jesus suffered from conditions that can be found in the DSM 5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM–5) such as temporal lobe epilepsy, Messiah complex and cognitive dissonance.
All men claim to strive for the improvement of society and the world and no man improves. Hinduism focuses on the individual development and personal attainment of Nirvana.

The example of Harikrish shows why spiritual egotists in the west tend to be attracted to Indian religion.

It is easier to keep your feet clean for others who want to kiss it than to expect others will keep their feet clean just cause you want to kiss it.
Both jesus and the Pope had to wipe the feet of their disciples before they kissed it. My point exactly!!!
