"According to a study published by the American Psychological Association, the rates of mood disorders and suicide-related events have significantly increased in the last decade within these age groups, especially among females and the wealthy.1 As a mental health facility in Boca Raton, we’re concerned over the alarmingly high prevalence of mental illness in the United States. To shed more light on the subject and advocate for the importance of mental health care, we’re sharing some information on the state of mental health in the nation."

That’s coming from a guy who makes $100 a day as incompetent substitute teacher and lived with his mother well into adulthood. The only reason he doesn’t live with her today is she died, perhaps of shame at having raised such an imbecile.

His opinions have as much value to society as his paycheck would indicate.

Speaking of nonsense, why does USA have higher rate of suicide than some very poor countries?

I looked up Afganistan, Iran, Yemen, Syria, Venezuela, Egypt...

They have 2 to 4 rate per 100,000.

USA has 13 per 100,000.

It seems that these countries have 4 times lower suicide rate than USA.

Why is that?

@PREZ-HILTON
and for some reason let the local politicians who are doing retarded shit like defunding the police off the hook.
Can you provide one example of a police department that has been defunded and saw a noticible crime increase as a result?

he will never be able to piece together that the most liberal cities like Chicago and Detroit are the biggest high crime areas
Right wingers love talking about Chicago and Detroit, as if they are the only cities in the country.

Do you not find it odd that especially when talking about gun violence, the cherry picked examples of choice that every right winger loves to repeatedly hold up just happen to be cities either in red states or that border red states where guns are easily and readily accessible? Meanwhile cities that are no where near such ease of gun access have no where near the same problem?

Me- a lot of people get shot by guns, how do we fix it?

Son- we should just take everyone's guns away so they can't shoot people anymore

Actual liberal policy. Complete gun bans
Self own.

If we want people to stop getting shot, taking away the guns would accomplish that. It's so simple a child could figure it out, yet here we are...

Yeah. The simple solution is usually the dumbest one, since you still have to call the guys with guns when problem appears.

I tried to find that California law and if anyone had ever even been prosecuted under it (none that I can find, not even a fine levied under it), and in the research I did, it looks like your source, known for writing misleading headlines for clicks, highly overstates the potential for going to prison over the law. I didn't look up the one about the British soldier because again, that's not really a credible news site based on the way they write headlines. I can't speak for British laws on the matter, but it sure sounds to me like the law is more like a legislative recognition of someone's right to identify however they want (self-ownership). Jerry Brown might have been an asshole for all I know, the law doesn't address that part.

As far as misnaming you, the FIRST time I'd just be wrong. Once you corrected me, said "Hey man, my name is Stephen / Night Hawk," and I immediately (not weeks later while I get used to calling you Stephen) said "Sure thing Stephanie," I'm no longer operating under ignorance and wrong, we can agree now I'm just being an asshole, right? And when my friend shows up and I introduce you as Stephanie, again, I'm not just wrong, I'm ALSO an asshole. Would you disagree? My point is at some point, ignorance becomes just being a jackass, and while I don't think I should be arrested or fined for it, wouldn't you start telling people I'm an asshole? Like "Hey, look out for that guy, he's an asshole for this reason." Now do I have the right to get pissed off at YOU for telling people I'm an asshole?

It costs me nothing to call you Nighthawk. Literally zero effort or impact on my life. Once I'm informed, my position is that I'm making a choice what to call you, I'm deciding I don't care what you want me to call you, I'm going to do what I want regardless of whatever you think.

YEs, a student is within their rights to get upset if a teacher calls them something other than whatever they ask to be called, this is the right to self ownership. Use the name example to see why, right? If a child's name is Ngongala, and the teacher doesn't like that name, and decides instead to say "I can't say that name, I don't like it, it makes me feel weird, so I'm just going to call you....Mark." Isn't the student right to be upset?

Wrong. My skin is thicker than that.
This is the answer to "are you offended," not "am I an asshole." It's great that you're not offended, that you have thick skin or whatever, awesome, first not everyone is as hard as you are I guess, and second, I'm still an asshole. I have a hard time believing you'd never get upset if I kept calling you Stephanie and insisting others should do the same, time and time and time again.

Stupid take. Everyone believed this like a child at some point, but most of us grew up.  That really is as simplistic as your view on guns is and why you think it's fine if the majority of criminals can overpowered the majority of law abiding citizens, particularly women and children.

Can you provide one example of a police department that has been defunded and saw a noticible crime increase as a result?

Sanfransico democrat begs for more police presence after voting to remove police funding. https://youtu.be/1eqshbnzQhQ

Do you not find it odd that especially when talking about gun violence, the cherry picked examples of choice that every right winger loves to repeatedly hold up just happen to be cities either in red states or that border red states where guns are easily and readily accessible?
Why are democrats so prone to gun violence? If it are democratic cities and people who are the problem, could we meet half way and just ban registered democrats from owning guns?

I live in a blue city a large city and I pretty much always have. I am trying to move to a very rural area to escape the problems all democrat run areas have. If I live in let's say the mountains of north Carolina and I want to own a gun to protect my family from criminals due to the 20 minute police response time or to protect myself from wild animals like bears, why should the fact democrats in Raleigh north Carolina want to shoot each other stop me from legally purchasing a gun?

In fact why should the 75 year old black lady living in a rough part of Charlotte not be allowed to pack heat when her entire street is full of gang activity. You know if you ban guns that a knife is not a good enough equalizer for a 75 year old woman. They would need a gun to be a true equalizer.

Also what do you think of zip guns?

What do you think about 3d printed guns?

What do you think of the massive shipments of counterfeit guns (working but counterfeit in the sense they were hand made) that enter San Francisco on a weekly basis on a large ship from south America?

You are seriously claiming that criminals should have access to 3d guns, zip guns and counterfeit guns but a little old lady in gang territory should just have to be raped or mugged and deal with it.

Everytime you say gun bans, all I can think of is people that live near massive black bear populations in places like North Dakota backwoods area and vulnerable populations in dangerous areas.

To me, it seems cruel to disarm people in barely habitable rural areas and to disarm vulnerable populations within rough areas.

I have brought up these problems over and over and you haven't addressed my premises and why my concerns are unfounded. I have addressed yours.

You point to raw numbers of gun violence. I have addressed this by saying that I would rather live in a world where more accidents happen or where more gang members easily kill each other than a world in which more vulnerable populations are left defenseless, whether that is defenseless in barely habitable rural areas or in high crime areas.

You have done zero to alter your opinion or to address my concerns about these vulnerable people . You have pretty much just spoke past me. A lot of Democrats at this point would have at least told me that they are not for a gun ban but want to have some more hoops to jump through to make it harder for criminals to get guns.

If you did that, this conversation would be over because I have no opinion on that, but you seem to be pro a complete gun ban. So why don't you at least address my concerns about people being defenseless rather than speak past me.

The conversation cannot move until you address my premises. Than I can either point out how your arguments have addressed my concerns and change my mind, or how your arguments are wrong or unconvincing. Or maybe I have multiple premises for why I am opposed to gun bans and you have one more wall to punch through.

I am going to tell you exactly how to persuade me, and I suggest you think about what it would take to change your mind otherwise if nothing can change your mind, it is pointless to debate you.

How to change my mind.

1. Show that my concerns about vulnerable people in rural and high crime areas are overblown or how you would keep these people safe despite a gun ban.

2. Explain how a Hitler type situation is impossible to ever occur in America so that way arming groups such as the Jews would be pointless.

Now what would it take to change your mind?

With over 400 million guns in this country the number of times people use guns to prevent a crime, defend themselves, or apprehend a criminal are minimal.

Look at these last two mass shootings in Tennessee and Kentucky. Even in states with high gun ownership and personal carry, it was the police that had to stop the killers.

That said I’m only advocating for a ban on semiautomatic assault weapons and stricter regulations on ordinary firearms like universal background checks and red flag laws, and requirements for training and licensing to conceal carry.

I’ve owned guns since I was 12 years old.

I was talking pronouns he. she, them. not given names.  I have just watched a teacher (someone respected in my day) get absolutely slated and screamed at because he called a him a fkn her. or is it her him.? Its hard to tell with all those little fkn brats shouting everything to the contrary. demanding

second, I'm still an asshole.

Like I said, you can call yourself what the hell you like but don't expect me or try to forces me  to agree with you. That is my pint and you know it is.

A human with a dick and a pair of bollocks is not a fkn woman. And he will never get me to agree otherwise. But this is the "rights" they will be insisting on.

Are you kidding? We just had that with Trump. No thanks to you, the Constitution held. Trump wanted to use the army to shoot down BLM protesters.

The people do need to have guns, just not AR-15 type weapons. Millions of people with ordinary guns are a sufficient check on the Donald Trumps of the world
