The GOP needs to do some serious reflection here. They are still likely to get the house. The senate is probably gone for them. Here you have a situation where voters are extraordinarily unhappy, you have a President with a low approval rating and many voters still said they could not bring themselves to vote for a GOP candidate despite all of that. Candidate quality matters. Trump vetted  candidates on loyalty and not quality. Trump and his supporters will never do it but they NEED to come to a realization that he is bad for the party and bad for their electoral chances. He may energize some voters for the GOP but he energizes the Democrats just as much or more and he does not care how the party does, only himself. They run into the issue where, if he doesn't run or they beat him in a primary then he will attack the GOP nominee more than the Democrat's nominee. Now here is where I get especially confused from last night... did Roe v Wade make a difference? I think it did... but also not as much as you would think on a good Democratic night. Look at all the governors that signed restrictive abortion laws and won... Kemp, Abbot, Desantis, Dewine etc. The GOP also did better with women in the exit polls compared to last time. They also are winning the popular vote for the house (as of now) by six million, I expect that to narrow but still. Such an odd night and will take a while to fully determine what went down here.

Other takeaways for the election results, there won't be any more Jan 6 type theatrics in Congress, and I do not expect a GOP Congress to actually hold impeachment hearings with the Senate results. What this means is (thankfully) finally the wall to wall coverage of Trump will have a chance to subside enough to make room for leaders that can help the country move forward.

As much as the Senate race was not a referendum on inflation as many thought it would be, the House election most definitely was a referendum on the politics of Jan 6 and how the Democrats went a bit too far with the sham hearing for a bit too long.

Wow, you guys are finally starting to get it. But Republicans still elected many election deniers like Ron Johnson and J D Vance so it’s too early to be thinking the fever has broken. The Republican Party is still complicit with Trump and his lies and subversive conduct.

Oh really? What is causing inflation right now? What would Republicans do to lower inflation? You may recall the last time we had inflation this high was under Reagan. Do you want a recession? Do you want high unemployment?

Inflation emerged as an economic and political challenge in the United States during the 1970s. The monetary policies of the Federal Reserve board, led by Volcker, were widely credited with curbing the rate of inflation and expectations that inflation would continue. US inflation, which peaked at 14.8 percent in March 1980, fell below 3 percent by 1983.[21][22] The Federal Reserve board led by Volcker raised the federal funds rate, which had averaged 11.2% in 1979, to a peak of 20% in June 1981. The prime rate rose to 21.5% in 1981 as well, which helped lead to the 1980–1982 recession,[23] in which the national unemployment rate rose to over 10%.

You misspelled Jimmy Carter.
Who was President in 1982 when we had 10%+ inflation? Reagan cut taxes for wealthy people in 1981. How did that lower inflation?

So the 10%+ unemployment was Reagan’s doing, right?

Reagan tripled the National Debt in 8 years. He raised the debt ceiling over 20 times and never had a balanced budget.

You misspelled Jimmy Carter.

You may recall the last time we had inflation this high from Carter and then brought into control was under Reagan, although Volker was no Janet Yellen.

Sounds like you want another Reagan/Volker team again. I never thought you wanted to make America great again. I just thought you wanted to burn down half of the country.

Instead of asking what's worse, ask what is better...lowering inflation or pretending it does not exist?

That makes no sense and your lack of responses to my questions shows you are clueless. What is your plan for lowering inflation again? A magic wand for idiots? The economy is working great for me. I just got a 100k raise in salary. A growing economy is more important to me than controlling prices. Airlines are very busy. Very very busy.

2) a post to discuss midterm results is obviously good for the website in a way a lot of the posts I was complaining about aren’t, making the comparison just seems dumb
You can literally shut up and not type a single nonsense word in this thread and get the results, this thread is nothing original at all.

I am not against the thread because I am not an originality supremacist.

This is the kind of Democracy we saved this election.

Removing party affiliation next to the names on the ballot could fix a host of issues in this country.

You aren't fucking talking to Donald Trump  on this site. Trump doesn't have a god damn thing to do with it. You are just rude and insulting for no good reason and it amazes me that the mods still allow you on this site.

What are you blathering about? The only reason Trump can do what he does is idiots like you. I can tell from your avatar that you are a wack job.

Didn’t you just write this?

I don't use twitter but I couldn't possibly think of how it would affect anyone's life directly other than your feelings being hurt because someone said something you didn't like. Cant be any different than here on this site. People say stuff I don't agree with or like all the time on here. Tough shit if I don't like it, I can live with that or I can cry like a little bitch, no one will care and I can leave. Kinda like all the crying little bitches on Twitter are doing now that no one cares if the stay or leave. I mean really, who gives a flying fuck if you leave Twitter because Spaceman bought it.  You can still post all your BS just like before except now your BS might be challenged, kinda like on here. Oh the humanity!!  Those are my thoughts.

Seems like you are crying like a bitch. Now you want protection from the moderators?

What in the fuck does Trump have to do with "YOU" being rude to people on this site without provocation?  I never asked for protection from anything. I am wondering why the terms of use rules don't apply to you. You can put forth all the political views you want, I don't give a fuck. You violate the terms of use all the time and think it doesn't apply to you. Attacking people personally and expressing view points are two entirely different things. And yes I did write that, and it refers to political view points not direct personal attacks. You know that and so does everyone else. Personal attacks are cause for ban on Twitter also. Your unprovoked and unwarranted  personal  attacks are not a reflection on them but you and your character.

You are very snarky. Very snarky and you use a lot of vulgarities. Lots of F bombs. Terrible just terrible dialogue

“Floyd was dead long before he died. His actual death was just a formality” This is one of the most hateful and insensitive remarks I have ever read on a forum and it’s yours. If you think calling a dummy “dummy” is worse than this comment I have to say you are a horrible person. Just clueless.

Again swearing and sarcasm is not a violation of the terms of use and is not a personal attack but rather  directed at what one has said. You attack people personally.  Your attacks are unwarranted and your lame excuse of people supporting Trump doesn't even begin to hold any merit.

"Unwarranted systemic vulgarity and invectives, which may include off topic personal attacks and/or hate speech, are subject to disciplinary actions."

This is a type of incivility. Way worse than calling someone dummy. Swearing is the definition of vulgarities you jackass

And your comment about George Floyd was blatant hate speech likely driven by racism

So you are guilty of hate speech and vulgarities and you have the balls to bitch like this? Go suck an egg.

I'm looking forward to that internecine strife, should be quite entertaining.

Trump already said he has dirt on DeSantis he will release if DeSantis runs, I suppose DeSantis' father helped Ted Cruz's father kill Kennedy.

They probably used the Jewish Space Lasers to do it too.
