In subjectivity there is no right or wrong answer because the answer is subject to the individual.
This sentence alone is exactly why your position makes no sense, is there an answer or not?

subjectivity is like - - RELATIVE DIRECTIONS - - up, down, left, right

your "up" is not my "up"

your "left" is not my "left"

these terms are still useful, as long as they are understood to be RELATIVE TO THE INDIVIDUAL

"objectivity" is like - - ABSOLUTE DIRECTIONS - - north, south, east, west, altitude, latitude, longitude

these are much more specific

Are you saying objective people don’t understand RELATIVE DIRECTIONS - - up, down, left, right which are subjective.

Similarly subjective people don’t understand ABSOLUTE DIRECTIONS - - north, south, east, west, altitude, latitude, longitude which are objective.

RELATIVE DIRECTIONS are relative to my individual position

personal feelings, tastes, or opinions are also RELATIVE to my individual accumulated life experience

you probably have a "favorite food"

i also have a "favorite food"

you might say, "favorite food" is like "the direction left"

you know what is "left" for you

and i know what is "left" for me

they are not the same direction, almost never, considering the curvature of the earth

just because we both have a "favorite food" doesn't mean we agree on what the best food is

i am saying that

when someone claims that their right and left and up and down are the ONLY TRUE left and right and up and down

they are clearly making a CATEGORY ERROR

in the exact same way

when someone claims that their sense of right and wrong are the ONLY TRUE sense of right and wrong

they are clearly making a CATEGORY ERROR

So both subjective and objective people according to you make CATEGORY ERRORS.

Are you trolling? Because I am having a very hard time taking you seriously at this point.

When I say there is no right or wrong answer, I’m talking about an absolute right or wrong, as in right or wrong regardless of what one thinks about it.

When I say the answer is subject to the individual that means a given answer is right or wrong in the opinion of the individual.

“The earth is round” is right regardless of what one thinks about it.

“Ice cream is delicious” is right for some, for others it is not.

The former is therefore objective, while the latter is subjective.

We learned this in third grade.

An objective person uses reason to consider issues and understands emotion as a byproduct rather than a goal. Facts are considered and are given importance before situation and circumstance are evaluated. The objective person uses logical arguments rather than emotional appeals.

So to bring this back to our point of contention, anyone that disagrees with you regarding ice cream is immoral?

every action is either moral or immoral

for example, roughly 50% of chocolate is produced with the aid of child labor

even the most rational stoic

suffers from sample-bias when considering facts

and motivated-reasoning when choosing which question is considered "important" to them personally

the standard definition of "objective" includes "without bias"

and this is impossible for a human to achieve

Scientists are objective.

Why is it important for a scientist to be objective?

Scientists will alter hypotheses and theories when new knowledge is developed. Objectivity is important in science because scientific studies seek to get as close to the truth as possible, not just prove a hypothesis. Experiments should be designed to be objective and not to get the answers that a scientists wants

There are some 8.8 million scientists in the world. That’s a lot of qualified objective humans.

Everyone else reading this conversation understands the difference between objective and subjective. 3RU7AL even had to use the ‘my left is not your left’ example and you still don’t get it. This isn’t a me problem.

If your left is not my left then you are admitting you have a problem and the problem is yours.
You may not use your left like other men do. But that doesn’t make you normal either.

That’s not the point of contention here, it’s your appliance to morality.

And what you don’t get is what I already said before

relative directions aren’t based on personal feelings, tastes, or opinions.

That’s what you made this conversation about. I gave you a detailed breakdown of my position on morality. Your response to all of that was to question objectivity/subjectivity itself.

I gave you a detailed breakdown of my position on morality.
But I asked for a definition, which you’ve failed to elaborate on. Here’s my take, the mere fact that morality could be taught is exactly why it’s an objective fact, you can’t teach a subjective opinion, you either have it or you don’t, it’s literally nature vs nurture.

Morality is a system by which we judge actions as right or wrong.
But objective facts are right, a subjective opinion is neither right or wrong.

Q1: Is language objective or subjective?
It’s an objective way of effectively communicating yes, the mutual understanding of both parties using it is objective proof of this.

Q2: Can languages be taught?
Yes
