UwU Mafia Day Phase 1

I know a lot of players can attest to Croc's lazy play costing town mislynches by inactivity, not reading the DP, etc. We've went on with him to be more active and he still ends up being a detriment. This time with literally 2 or 3 pages worth of activity to catch up, he says lol nothing and dips. That's huge bullshit. The minute I saw a read that was substantive I took off the vote

I remember Pie saying that  milller claims can only be in the first DP or you'll get a scumread, perhaps  Speed was trying to do this.

Hi everyone - I had no idea the day phase started. Sorry! I will definitely be more active going forward. So far I’ve only read the OP (not even my role pm) so I see the day phase ends this afternoon, most likely before I’ll have a chance to sign back on but I’ma do my best. 

If you could skim the day phase and give at least one thought in contribution that'd be great. We're running low on brainpower this day phase it seems.

I’m trying to read on the subway but the wifi cuts out in between stops so it’s annoying. It’s also frustrating to type on my phone, and I can’t figure out how to get to my messages from my phone (lol) so I have no idea what my role even is at this point just FYI.

As far as reads, so far I’ve skimmed up to page 6 or so. From what I’ve gathered  I just think the tunneling of inactivity on DP1 is kind of pathetic. Nothing says “I’m a weak ass little mafia player with nothing  to contribute” than harping on a player who hasn’t even signed on yet. Do better. There is a criteria for tunneling inactivity and I don’t think I meet it - everyone knows that once I’m AWARE the game is on, I am active. 

And Oromagi sounds like an idiot saying I haven’t posted in the last three games when #1 that’s not true and #2 I was KILLED FIRST IN DAY OR NIGHT PHASE ONE dumb ass lol. I also think the fact that he changed his profile pic to something that seems to resonate with y’all is completely and utterly meaningless - I have no idea why anyone would town read that. I would be more likely to scum read that but I wouldn’t say I “scum read” him or anyone for now.

Gimme a few hours. Im’a do my best to read and post more. 

He would have no way of knowing some niche character like L unless that was his role. He has been known to soft claim through PFP before, if I'm not mistaken. That said, Lunatic said he would be providing fake roles now that you mention it. And if there is no cop in this game, Oromagi soft claiming L (since he was a detective) with the help of mafia friends makes sense as a theory. 

It would establish himself as a valuable power role to town, and although he would be expected to come up with some fake results, he could just constantly investigate his mafia brethren to "Fake confirm" them...

It is 100% meaningless insofar as establishing him TOWN, and the fact that no one has put an ounce of suspicion on him for doing this is weird. 

(Good news btw. I checked my role PM and I'm town, so I can finally help since the rest of ya'll haven't done shit but complain about my inactivity. Fortunately for ya'll I'm here and will probably contribute more in this single post than the rest of you put together so far). 

Oro hasn't seen any anime allegedly yet changed his pic to a COP character? Ya'll believe that? Lol. As Chris just pointed out - and I was about to myself - Lunatic GIVES FAKE CLAIMS - either character or role - so his changing his pic to a "major" role/character is incredibly anti-town and completely meaningless insofar as giving him town cred which he was prob hoping to get.  It's something no intelligent townie player would ever do, so this puts a ton of suspicion on Oro and yet Chris you nor anyone else has called this out. Instead you focused on Skittlez being sus for pointing out what character he chose. I get that takes it a step further but Oro himself had no reason to do that unless he was confident he wouldn't be killed. He knows a lot of people in this game have seen anime and might know who that character is. So I don't buy that "soft claim" at all, read it incredibly sus, and will be voting for him unless something better comes along before the dp ends which seems doubtful. 

I can't tell if Oro is truly that inexperienced and of a 5th grade-psychology mindset that he thinks making his profile pic a main cop-like character would give him town cred. His posts feel kindaaa town once or twice, but that move is just so novice I can't get past it. 

I immediately knew Speed wasn't miller when he claimed it, but the fact that he admitted that right away before anyone gave him push back feels town to me. I have a few other 'lean town' reads but don't feel the need to mention them now. I will say that I don't  don't love warren's posts (weird vibe) and BearMan feels weird too.

I chuckled at the people who contributed nothing but one-line randomness, saying "I'm town" or remarks about anime, but had the nerve to be outraged that I hadn't posted lol. I guess if I said "I'm not so-and-so" that would qualify as 'activity' going forward huh? Noted :) 

I  also have a few remarks about other people's game play but that's all I have time to type for now. And for the record I've seen one episode of Pokemon in 6th grade or so. Beyond that I haven't seen a single other anime in my life. I will do my best to get back on before the DP ends but I'm not sure if I'll be able to. 

I'll be 100% honest, even though I sus'd Oro lightly for the "I'm not giving analysis" thing, it didn't even hit me that Lunatic provided fake claims until you brought it up. I chalk that up to my own oversight more than anything. 

This is why we need more brainpower this day phase. That would have completely slipped by me if it weren't for Danielle. 

When people were getting mad at me for not voting Danielle because of activity versus Croc, this is why. When she gets on to post insight, it is critical insight. Danielle did more in 1 post after reading the DP 1/2, versus Crocodile in this entire game.

Regarding the Oro post. I do think him setting his profile to a cop character feels weird without a doubt, but how can you be confident he was using a fake claim. I know Lunatic does fake claims, but even if they fake claimed, why would oromagi not just regular claim then if he had no idea. The majority of the people have no idea about anime and probably wouldn't digest a theme (even I, who has watched a decent sum of anime) wouldn't be able to digest a theme. Example, if I were Obito from Naruto, he was setup as a villian until he changed and became a hero. Same with other characters.

But Danielle makes some good points about the PFP change. Death Note is an anime series and he only claimed to watch 2 animes in this DP, which does lead me to believe he was doing it for town cred, but there are a lot of uncertainties that come with this theory

Because it's not a smart move as town. At all. Oro IS smart at town, but admittedly not so much as scum. 

Plus, I really am just pressuring him. I want a claim.

Not really. We've already established that Lunatic provides fake roles. If cop were one of them, it's not ballsy at all. it's a no-brainer.

I didnt claim early cuz i realized last game its hella stupid and causes problems most of the time
