I am town and not on that list, but the way my PM describes me I seem important, so I don't know if I would bank on that list much. Though I am not much of a historian so I don't know many of these generals except for the big names.
This strikes me as important information.  That list seem to cover enough names that I would expect any list of top 6 union generals or famous union general would be a subset.

  • Can you confirm you are a general in the Union army?
  • Are you Lincoln?
  • Are you TP?

I find that if he at least does SOMETHING with his voyeur role, it will give up at least something to work with. It won't be much, but if he is a power role then mafia will NK him before they risk being caught by him.
His rolve is provable, but a doc or cop is way more valuable to town, so a self protect or a guess at cop or some other town read is probably better. I don't see mafia killing croc.

Your the history buff here, and I don't scum read you, so in answering these questions I hope I'm not giving too much information here, but I'll comply.

Can you confirm you are a general in the Union army?
Yes. My Role PM says "Major General" Which I assume is the same thing.

Are you Lincoln?
No. Lincoln is mentioned in my PM though.

Are you TP?
I am town homie

If his role is provable, why not let him give us the information AND get him town confirmed if he's right?

That list does have the most famous generals, but there are others that aren't on the list. For instance, Nathaniel Lyon, Union hero in Missouri and one of the first generals to die in the war, isn't on that list. Henry Halleck, C-in-C of the Army for part of the war, isn't on the list. Those are the only names I can think of off the top of my head in a couple minutes. There are plenty of others.

Because I am assuming there are power roles here, and I don't consider him a power role.

Winfield Scott, C-in-C for the first months of the war, also wasn't on there.

What makes you say he isn't a power role?
His role claim quite literally isn't a power role, that's what makes me say it.

WAIT A SEC

By post #23 no one had claimed Confederate. Obviously Oromagi would know he was confederate, but where did he get the second confederate from if what he said in Post #532 is true and that he did mean to say "2 confederates, 2 town"?

Yes although many famous generals never achieved that rank.  There are certainly Major Generals on this list who are not known to me  and I can't assume it includes all major generals.

Are you Lincoln?
No. Lincoln is mentioned in my PM though.

OK.  I think we just table this info for the time being.  Is anybody else not on the list?

Good example.  I'd say Halleck should be about as famous as Ewell, at any rate.  Of course, there are many , many more Union generals.

I call that an accurate assessment of Scott's  Civil War performance.

I once loved a girl named Amie. L
It was an unfortunate thing that she couldn't spell
O' how the Weeks seemed long when she wasn't near
Her letter were usually illegible, I fear
When I saw her, I would kiss her lips,
In the bedroom there was chains and Whips.

Although, that isn't because Halleck was as good of a general as Ewell.

He did come up with the Anaconda plan, which was the plan the Union used to win the war.

Voyeur, for those who may have forgotten, tells what actions were performed on a player, but not who performed them. This is useless because it works as almost a role cop that finds roles that are in the game, but not who those roles are. Croc outing any voyeur results would probably be a detriment to town (what if someone docs his target?) unless they're explicitly a role that only mafia has, but even then, I don't see how it helps at all. I don't think Croc should say his results

But he claimed voyeur, a power role that watches people to see what happened to them, but not who did it. Do you contend he is lying?

I contend that you are mis-understanding how powerful his role is. Read speed's post in 589.

Further I don't see how this role really even helps town. I can definitely see it helping mafia more though. I guess it could confirm someone's claim if we doubted them, but yeah, in general outting his results is potentially more harmful.

Actually if he doesn't out results we will never be able to confirm himm which is from what I understand is the whole point of letting him live today in the first place. I am kind of leaning back toward thinking croc is a good lynch if we are lynching today.
