Most 5yr olds think that.
You would know right. If you're an old guy... i'd say the possibility is even higher.

OP, hat seperates you from lowly spiritual or "highly spiritual" and not lowly spiritual?
Universe continues to exist after each of dies.

Lowly not lowly... i think there is more life after death.

I think you meant lowly and "highly" i.e. you seem to think there is no differrence betwee your "highly spiritua"and lowly spiritual.  That makes no sense to me but until you can actually define what you mean your phrase it lacks definition.  Why can younot  define what your phrase "highly spiritual"means?

My mother is dead and I'm alive so yes life exists after death. Universe also continues onward eternally after each biologic dies.

The universe is only depressing if you had an over inflated idea of your place in it.
Yeah sure. Doesn't make it less difficult to move from that into reality while still being happy with it.
the sheer amazing ness of what we lump of matters are figuring out should make you feel good ;)
Not really so I can't spend my time jerking off to a scientist speaking. Motivational and learning new things videos have lost their charm on me.
What ultimately made it unsuccessful was an exceptional local hospital and my inadequate knowledge of pharmacology.
Did you have some sort of emotion afterwards that gave you more happiness that it would get better or are you still the same person just not willing to die?
Humans have always, always been dumb. The entire history of humanity has been a list of humans believing in insane shit, realizing it, and then improving themselves and the world until the next set of dumb sh*t comes along. It’s sad, but anti-vaxx is going to last right up until the next major pandemic.
Sad really. It is also sad that it could have been yourself in a different scenario.

It's bc i don't want to assert anything for anyone else... bc quite frankly, i don't know what happens to 'everyone' after they die. I suspect more than not, there are people (including myself) that have higher selves... and/or survive death into another platform/dimension/etc. So far, out of the human made platforms, i like the infinite consciousness platform. That however has many (well infinite) implications. So, i'll just make it easy and say i suspect more than not i survive death.

"Highly spiritual" Bc i'm 70/30 sure of my speculation. I would say being 70 percent is highly spiritual... maybe moderately spiritual would fit better to some. I'm highly/moderately spiritual. Defining spiritual: (there is another platform other than this reality where there are/is intelligence(s)).

Coward: a person who lacks the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things.
Please enlighten me: could you explain the dangerous or unpleasant thing that I have not done, or not endured?

Neither.

It has only 191 dislikes - so isn’t reflective of you.

It also has no geeky white guy drinking wine like a sir, whilst everyone runs around in hysterical fits around him taking things too seriously - so isn’t reflective of me.

How much do you fear being disliked? If not fear, what then has led you to conclude you're somehow not proportionally large in the percentage of people out of the pool here who know you, that dislike you?

Be careful not to point the finger at me, this is your AMA, not mine.

I have absolutely no fear of being disliked, I’m genuinely not bothered by it; and appreciate that there will be many people who will not like me at all, and often play into their dislike in ways that amuse me.

What I fear, is being a bad, or unethical person - or being wrong and somehow not realizing it.

For the former, there are those who’s opinions I respect, their behaviours I view as ethical and genuinely done for good reasons: and if they disliked my behaviour or things I do, I’d be wary of that as it would imply my behaviour is falling short.

For the latter, a key principle of science is that if you note a potential source of error, you seek out that source and correct it: hence why I expose myself to the crucible of online debate.

Confirmation bias at its finest:

I wonder what you then determine whether your respect is misplaced with...

Confirmation bias at it's finest:
It’s more “having a consistent ethical framework”.

I wonder what you then determine whether your respect is misplaced with...
Normally when someone:

  • is unable to take criticsm
  • blames others for their mistakes
  • lashes out at others when something untoward happens
  • Brags, touts their own achievements over others (especially when achievements are misplaced)
  • Frequently belittles others for little objective reason.
  • shows little in the way of empathy
  • has little or no sense of humour and is unable to laugh at themselves
  • has no apparent ability for self reflection
juat off the top of my head.

What is more important cogito ergo sum or Hume's law?

Anyway you want to define importance.

Do you think cogito ergo sum is correct?

Do you think we can ever derive an ought from an is?

I tend to be more practical - I don’t think either are particularly useful to real discussions.

Anyway you want to define importance.
In what context.

Do you think cogito ergo sum is correct?
Its a form of tautology. So it’s correct. What you “sum”, is up in the air, but if there is something that cogitos, it sums.

Do you think we can ever derive an ought from an is?
Of course; but you need to go right round the houses into a discussion of evolutionary morality!

Pick any context which you think they are both useful and decide which one is more important.

Tautology: a phrase or expression in which the same thing is said twice in different words.
Is that what you mean with tautology?
Of course; but you need to go right round the houses into a discussion of evolutionary morality!
Have an example of this?

A good example is what I covered in this debate:

You can turn an is into an ought if you anchor the ought into something objectively deductible, but not universal.

Yes that’s what I meant by tautology; and I don’t think either are important. They don’t really help further a conversation..

So something that is objective in a specific case but is not universal?
How is it objective then?
