(I still say we just kill the blood sucker. Think about it we can back it into a corner with a holy symbol and lob ranged at it until it stops moving. Then we stake it and cut off its head.)

(If we can't find a revive scroll then yeah, we'll just have to kill him and leave it at that. But the good thing to do would be to try and save him by attempting to find a rez scroll for that to be able to happen fmpov.)

(we have to kill the vampire even if we have a revive scroll anyways. Otherwise it wont do anything at all xD.)

(Meh, Eikka is lukewarm aboit that plan at best. If we had a revive she would want to save it in case one of you get yourselves killed. She might be the only one who could use the scroll or whatever it turns out to be. The greater good in her mind is looking out for you guys.)

The group finds Ismark and Ireena awake, dressed, and ready. They are in the reading room next to the coffin of their father.

Ismark: I hope all get some rest. As much as can be had in a place like this.

(I vote we bury the father and the child then deal with Maggie then cure the vampire if we can. If we can't cure him then secular's plan seems good.)

I will sleep much better once Maggie is dead and no more little ones are in danger. Tell me, what is required to bury your father? It sounds more complicated than the average burial.

(I think we're making a mistake proceeding with main quest before finishing side quests and might be screwing ourselves out of being able to tie up the loose ends of Maggie and the priest.

If they've been getting attacked, proceeding might very well prompt another attack which forces us out of town.)

(I am going to take this opportunity to say that, now that you're out of the Death House, the valley is yours to explore at your discretion. Including when and how you proceed along the "main quest" versus "side quests." I will note that their difficulty is already set, meaning you can stumble into encounters and quests that you are not yet prepared for. "Run away!" is always a viable course of action.)

Ireena: No more complicated than any other burial. He has a reserved plot at the church, but me and Ismark cannot carry the casket ourselves. The townsfolk think that by helping us, they'll be opposing Strahd and invite his wrath.

Let's get started. Eikka begins to wail lamentations, rend her hair and gnash her teeth as would be fit the funeral for an orcish cheiftan.

(Uh, I guess we can find a rez scroll, but we really should find that silver first and at least try something. We can ask the merchant if he has silver we can buy. I would say 'borrow', but Devotion Paladin...)

(Maybe Wish.)

My group can help with the burial. I, along with another person, can carry the casket to the church. If need by, the rest of my companions can escort us.

(Did we ask about a file?)

Before we leave, By chance do you have a metal file? Powdered silvers, or perhaps a revive scroll?

Roberts pointed out earlier that we discovered from the priest that there is a vampire, his son, trapped in the undercroft of the temple. Any of the three would be useful in regards to dealing with it.

(
Keep in mind vampires are CR13 and I looked up Night Hags, they're CR5. Both above our current level 😐).

Ismark: I believe we can find you a file as far as the other stuff, we aren't exactly steeped in wealth here. What you say about the priest is disturbing, but makes sense. Strahd often turns those that oppose him into thralls under his control as a form of torment, both for the living and the dead.

(Well the holy water will be useful against the vampire to kill it. Not much else I think.)

(Maybe Luxart can deal radiant damage. I can, so its a matter of dealing enough damage in time. We can just stab him with a stake.🤔)

(Powdered silver incoming. Just need to get silver pieces from shopkeep. We should prolly get enough for 3 batches tbh. And we still need an aspergillum, unless drafter snuck it in our inventory on our behalf. Cause I dont remember grabbing it, just noting that it might be useful 😐)

(But consider, the cool bonus we got from the house was for doing a good thing(burying the kids properly). Merely killing the vampire, especially considering the heavy hints the priest would kill himself["have nothing to live for"] would not fmpov be the good thing. It'd be neutral at best.

Saving the priests kid though? Not just the good thing, downright heroic. Bet it gets us a sweet perk, or potentially better. 👍)

Ismark retrieves a file for snerp, then joins the group in carrying the casket. Ireena leads the group through the streets. As usual, the streets are deserted. Nevertheless, Ireena keeps one hand on the hilt of her sword. Slowly and surely, they make their way to the church. The walls of the church are eerily silent as Ireena knocks on the door. After a few minutes, the priest opens the door. He looks haggard and pale, but forces a smile when he sees Ireena.

Ireena: Donavich, it has been too long. Sadly, the reports of my father's death have not been exaggerated.

Donavich: I feared as much, sweet Ireena. You've come soon enough, we can do a proper Morninglord ceremony. Please, meet me around back in the graveyard. I had the plot prepared when I had heard of Kolyan's death.

@Buddamoose, @Earth, @drafterman, @kindertina @thedredpriatroberts

I think Roberts has the right idea. I'm ready to cast guiding bolt at a moment's notice, although I don't stop wailing and gnashing.
