Grahf and Roberts walk down the steps while Snerp and Eikka check out the alcoves...
The Room:
This small room looks like it was the living and sleeping quarters for four people. A wooden table and four chairs stand at the east end of this room. To the west are four alcoves containing moldy straw pallets. The wood of the table and chairs are rotted and do not look like they could support much way. The straw pallets are all but rotted away. At the north end of the room, the hallway continues, curving around to the west.
The Alcoves:
Two crypts have been hewn from the earth. The stone slabs mean to seal them are open, leaning against the walls. The one to the east is blank while the other has the name "Walter Durst" etched into it. Both crypts are empty.
(my guess would be if living quarters are in this direction then the room where this cult of Osybus performed rituals is probably in the other direction, cause well, the smell of death. Would be hard to sleep if ur close to where its mainly coming from 😓).
The group passes through the living quarters. There is nothing of note here save the remnants of the beds and the table and chairs. The small hallway leads to a large set of living quarters. A 4-foot-diameter well shaft with a 3-foot-high stone lip descends 30 feet to a water-filled cistern. A wooden bucket hangs from a rope-and-pulley mechanism bolted to the crossbeams above the well.
Five side rooms contain wood-framed beds with a moldy straw mattresses and wooden chests. Each chest is secured with a rusty iron padlock.
A hallway at the south-west corner of the room leads south up a series of small stairs and breaks off in several directions.
(@Roberts- do the honors and try to break the padlocks with ur sword? Or maybe just smash the chests open? 😂)
I search around the rooms in the larger living quarters, particularly the beds(ex: feeling the mattresses for unusual lumps or hard spots indicative of hidden objects)
(true, we should check the larger living quarters tho, try to get those chests open. Maybe try smashing the padlock with ur mace like I suggested Roberts do with his weapon?
I don't think the marking is very important. Look at the map, as suspected the basement isn't very large. Not much chance of getting lost fmpov.)
