Actually here’s another question: Could mafia be unknowingly TMIing about the setup with how they behave?

Eh, I'd consider it NAI. There's no themesplit and the role claims are practically infinite.

And yes, they definitely could be, that's part of the reason I tried to start some discussion there. Faking setup spec is a lot trickier than faking reads, which any decent scum player can do.

Also Casey is solid town. Questioning my GP read and then putting the effort to check past games to confirm is indicative of towny caution, it comes from a genuine place of trying to figure out my alignment.

Can you elaborate on this - are you saying that me pointing out potential anticlaim is towny because I wouldn't need to discourage claiming as scum? I suppose it's true, but seems a bit of a tangential point in regards to the rest of my posting.
I think scum have more incentive this game than most to push for claims, regardless of whether the anticlaim mechanic exists, because of the nature of the game. I know someone asked about whether scum are more likely to claim/softclaim early and as someone who did just that, I do think they would. Scum have a lot of leeway with their claims this game, particularly when we’re talking about album claims, since they have a lot of potential roles that can apply to any given album. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if scum had claimed early to get some towncred, though atm, Casey reads as town and GP as null to me.

The long and short of it is that I don’t think scum would go through the measures you’ve used to prevent claiming because they don’t have much to fear from claiming, and that even if this anticlaim scenario is off-base, they have abnormal incentive to push for claims given a lack of risk on their parts.

Any particular reason you chose not to mention this up front with your role claim? Might want to ask about any details that are unclear. It’s particularly strange to me that it would be undisclosed on the following day, since necessarily you could confirm your role by simply voting and having it not register in the vote count. Wouldn’t that, at least in part, verify your role?

Before anyone mentions it, I do recognize that there can be more than one reason why someone would be unable to vote in a given DP, but it should be noted that this would also come after an apparent failure of the NK. I don’t suspect scum will try to kill GP if he is the Tree Stump, I just think that element of his claim is a bit odd given how the role works.

I don’t think there’s any incentive for scum to soft or claim their album. There’s millions of albums so keeping their options open would be good for them.

It’s conceivable. If you’re specifically referring to Austin. If the “anti-claim” stuff came from anyone except him, I would townread it. Scum Austin is smart enough to say that as well though, which is why I null read it.

-Cerulean might be borrowing a mechanic that I've seen on Mafiauniverse (and elsewhere) called "anticlaim."
-Anticlaim is a setup mechanic designed to discourage town claiming in order to balance the setup.
-How it works is that the scum team can submit a post containing a claim to the mod each night, and if correct, then they can apply a penalty to that player. This penalty can range from kinda bad to very bad.

TLDR: be cautious of claiming. I doubt Cerulean would make this mechanic extremely powerful considering that this is a fairly new concept in DART and is likely to piss off players if they get killed for what would be acceptable mechanical play (i.e. just claiming your role) in any other DART setup, but you never know.

Heard of both, neither’s great. Hopefully it’s bacterial and will just run itself out of your system - if it’s viral, it can be passed on more easily.

Did you know that the reason they stopped calling aids a gay disease was because black men who claimed to be heterosexual also got it at disproportionate rates?

Did you know that those same men when examined for scars associated with anal ripping had signs of having been on the receiving end of anal despite claims of being heterosexual? 

Yes so the entire liberal case for gays not being a gay disease is based on black men claiming to be heterosexual having it, despite those same men having anal ripping often associated with receiving anal.

It's probably just a coincidence that everything the torah says not to do, whether that be anal with men or eating pork, happens to be bad for you. 

God can't be real. It is just a coincidence that if any one of his laws are disobeyed than the society or individuals disobeying them end up in the equivalent of hell on earth.
