Breath of the Wild Mafia DP1

Having never played Breath of the Wild myself, I'm not really sure whether my character is a main hero or a side hero, but from their wiki page, I'm leaning side hero. Should I just come out and name them? 

Not sure what's the criteria for this. Does having a major story arc count?

Also just to softclaim a bit, my role is not exactly SOP but it's definitely negative utility. If chaos occurs later on, you know who to blame.

My hero seems important.

Is your character present 1. throughout the whole story, 2. for most of the story, 3. For some of the story, or 4. barely mentioned.

Usually, main characters are considered the first and to some degree, second.

Also, I guess the impact in the story counts too, but from what I know, heroes who are main characters are usually present for at least most of the story.

What does SOP stand for?

My character is present for some of the story. I think that applies for pretty much every character except Link tho, right?

Standard Operation Procedure [role]. It's basically a role which is so bad for town that it's standard operating procedure to claim it immediately or else you'll look really bad later on. An example of this would be Miller, which is a pro-town role which investigates as guilty to cops.

I think Link and these 4 must be in the game, so they are most important characters.

Can that chaos confirm your role as town? Because if it can, then its not so bad unless it overlays with some scum role.

If your role is negative utility, probably best to claim it now.

Got it, thanks. I feel like my role probably fits that description, so I'm just going to come out and say that I'm the Granny.

My role is confirmable, although there's a fair chance I won't be alive after I use it.

Whoa, you don't want to claim that role. If you weren't a new player, I would scum read you for that.

I'd disagree there - Granny is historically far more damaging to town than scum when left unclaimed. Why do you think it's not a good claim?

So one person immediately tells me that was a bad call, and another immediately says that was a good call. I don't know what to think, lol.

But yes, to be clear, anyone who visits me at night will die.

Granny wants to get scum to attack them. Even if they were more likely to kill town, killing one scum member makes a way bigger difference than killing one town member.

I'll admit I haven't played with that role before, but I looked it up an it seems like claiming ruins the point of the role.

Maybe just defer to Austin, since he's played longer than I have. Then again, he could be scum.

Your role, as it stands right now, can only be confirmed if some town player visits you and dies, as scum wont visit you.

So yeah, as it stands, its a non-confirmable role unless some town player is willing to sacrifice himself to confirm you, which I am not sure if we can afford.

If we have a doctor, they could heal whoever visits Granny I think.

Just to make it clear, can you die from lynch? Can you die during night phase?

But then granny wouldnt be confirmed tho. 

Her role, which is to kill whoever visits her, can only be confirmed if someone gets killed.

I guess there is a possibility that doctor gets notified of kill attempt while whoever visits her survives, but we need to ask mod if doctor will get confirmation.

Alright, just to make it clear, I do think the Granny claim makes sense as SOP. Casey was bound to have someone visit him, and that someone could very easily have been town. That being said, I’m less certain how to read that given that the Granny role was also in the previous setup. Hard to say if it was just reused or repurposed by scum.

Anyway, to answer the softclaim request,  my character is a hero and, at least from what I’ve read about him, a pretty major character. His existence in the game suggests that certain other characters are present.

There's nothing that prevents me from being lynched. I'm actually not 100% sure what happens if the mafia visit me during the night, but I think they would die and I would survive. At least, that's how I understood my role as explained to me over the PM.

Are doctors notified if they healed someone? They are in TOS.

So we should have someone visit Granny and then have the doctor heal them.
