Generally DP1 is pretty boring in the beginning, which is why I'm not really that active. I want to let the game play out a bit before giving my reads.

Savant's suggestion of having the doc heal the granny target is pretty bad but it seems more indicative of newbiness (overreliance on power roles to confirm someone) rather than an attempt for towncred imo. I have a good townlean on Korea.

Why is Urbosa a paranoid gun owner (AKA, granny)?

@Barney
Apparently, it's because she can be a bit of a loose cannon.

Good question. I haven't played Zelda so I didn't question it, but the wiki on that character really doesn't match the role.

Apparently, it's because she can be a bit of a loose cannon.
"Despite her intimidating appearance, Urbosa is a rather charismatic and kind woman, she has a very strong maternal feeling towards Princess Zelda, since she was a friend of her mother, the Queen of Hyrule. She also has a joking side as she often liked to scare people with the lightning she conjured."
Not sure that matches loose cannon, but maybe it's a reference to the lightning?

I haven't played Zelda either, so your guess is as good as mine.

@Barney
Have you played Zelda?

@Savant
Zelda was one of my favorite games. That it updates the game cartridge to save your number of hearts is incredible!
Ok I actually have played newer ones, like on the Wii... I remember that every game Link gets amnesia or something so has to start over as a little kid... Ok, apparently they sucked so much because it wasn't even his Wii games my friend has me play, but DS games ported onto the Wii or something like that.
Still, Link is like the most useless hero!
I mean unless you need someone to mow the lawn...

Does Urbosa being a loose cannon make sense from when you played the game?

Alright, as it seems the DP has come to a standstill, I think it's time we start pushing for information. So I think it's time to narrow the targets.
When it comes to existing claims, we only have one: Casey_Risk's. He's claimed Granny. While it's possible that he just cribbed this from the previous setup (Moozer posted it here, and no, I didn't think Gimli was all that good of a fit, either), I currently buy the claim, mainly because of the character. I don't know much about Breath of the Wild, but I'm aware of 6 characters that are almost certainly in this game: Link, Zelda, and the four Champions, Daruk, Mipha, Revali and Urbosa. I believe all 6 are here, plus one unknown (though I have my theories as to who that is likely to be, I'll ). That leaves the villains, who are likely to be Gannondorf and either Talus (there are multiple forms of it in the game) or Master Kohga. I suspect scum will pick from the remaining pool of characters, and highly doubt that Moozer has given scum enough information to make Urbosa an easy fake claim.
So, that just leaves the rest. I'll have to re-read the DP for behavioral information. I've got some basic behavioral reads based on what I recall, but I've been up and down all day and would like to collect my thoughts before providing a full set of reads.
As for who to pursue for a claim, at this point, it's mainly a matter of wanting to get information out of people who are barely engaging. Luna, I suspect, will be on and active tonight when he usually is. If he isn't, I'm fine with seeking information from him. JoeBob hasn't been super active and his contributions so far aren't anything to write home about, so I'd consider getting a claim from him. But for now, the choice is obvious based purely on inactivity:

Your first and only post in the DP so far was used to claim that you were a hero, which counts as participation, but little else. I'd like to, at minimum, get a character claim.

I was considering that, but its very town sided to make such an obvious character setup for town. If what you are saying is true, we can likely find scum by mere character claims, since anyone claiming any of those characters you listed becomes almost certainly confirmed town, which is 6 confirmed players, and anyone claiming anything else is the remaining 2 scums and 1 town player. Its too easy to be true, but I am willing to put it to test.
I can confirm that I am one of those 6 characters, and if 5 other players can confirm that they are one of 6, then we might have already won this.

@Savant
I don't remember Urbosa.
The character and justification for role are mismatched, but this is common for game hosts when designing the balance.
I think it's worth making note of, but not hyper-focusing on.
...
Of course if true, there is less likely to be any mafia redirection powers.

@Best.Korea
I'm not one of the six. I probably should have said this earlier on, but it's why I doubted that the roles were set up that way in the first place. I can come out and give my character and role if it comes to that, but it's better to get claims from inactive players first.

Might as well check - at least from what I’ve seen, the characters aren’t always linked well to their roles anyway. I’m one of the 6. That makes 3 with Chris.
-->
@Savant
I think people should soft claim first by saying if they are one of the 6.
You could be the 7th town player, but I think we need soft claims now because it makes it easier to catch scum later through contradictions.
I am not really a big fan of claiming all characters right now.
Its better if we all first say if we are one of 6.
That way, if those 6 characters are all in game, scum is basically defeated.
If those 6 are not all in the game, maybe scum doesnt know that and wont risk claiming they are one of 6, which means the number of fake claims they can make decreases.
It really just makes scum's life much more difficult if we first soft claim if we are one of 6.

Okay, 3 more.

That way, if those 6 characters are all in game, scum is basically defeated.
6 players saying they are one of the six does not guarantee that. One or two of them could be scum with a hint at a fake claim.
-->
@Savant
The scum can only get away from this if they were given a strong hint or a fake claim of one of 6.
If they werent and those 6 are in game, scum loses.
Its worth to try.
-->
@Savant
Also, I dont see anywhere at the start saying that scum was given any fake claim or hint. Mod usually says when that is the case. In lord of the rings, we didnt have fake claim or even a hint.
Also, cop can investigate anyone of the 6 who has a non-confirmable role, as well as anyone of the remaining 3 players who have non-confirmable role.
This should increase our chances to the maximum.
I still dont know how to feel about granny claim, but this is probably the best alternative to jumping to lynch granny.
-->
@Best.Korea
In Invincible they were given a hint but the mod didn't tell the town that.
-->
@Best.Korea
Wait no...he did say "However I did give them a very strong hint to a role claim."
So they probably weren't given hints in this game, but they could have a role that allows them to see if certain roles are in the game.
So they probably weren't given hints in this game, but they could have a role that allows them to see if certain roles are in the game.
I am hoping Moozer messed up the balance for this game, but scum could screw us over depending on their roles.
-->
@Savant
We dont lose anything if we first soft claim if we are one of 6.
If scum has fake character claim of one of 6, they are going to use it anyway, regardless of soft claim first or not.
But the point of soft claims is to set traps for scum, because anyone who makes a softclaim now has to stay consistent to it in dp2, regardless of if it is about role being confirmable, about character...ect.
Soft claims generally help town, which is why dp1 is mostly about softclaims until best target is found.
