there was once where he accused Chris of violating ToS because Chris said he was a dick for completely demolishing his point of view on pornography. Chris wanted to lay out the negative side using YT videos and Demon basically tried to crush it as if they were formal debating. Demon said it was too extreme and basically ridiculous.

MgtowDemon rises...
Recently the user known as demon has been providing many controversial posts with even moderators saying mean things about him, deserved or not. Theweakeredge battles him in forum activity and struggles to keep his rank. Demon's seemingly arrogant tone is definitely causing a lot of trouble with readers, reminding me of good old rational madman. We await to see his debating prowess.
DART activity dying
Ironically despite some select users battling against each other, debating has grown relatively stale with only Mall relatively regularly posting new debates. Forum activity had gone days without posting, and sadly Supadudz chose to cheese my "last comment wins" game. Congrats to Supadudz lol.
Natural Flavor worries
The user crossed infamous for his paranoid debate views has begun another seemingly crazy notion that aborted babies make up natural flavoring. Intelligence resorts to a semantic argument that doesn't manage to lessen his opponent's worries in the least. We await for more credible sources to determine whether Crossed is correct.
And that's all for now! More news later.

from my experience (https://www.debateart.com/debates/2535-on-balance-minimum-wage-should-be-raised-to-at-least-15dollar-hour-in-us) it's kind related to the politics and implementation and impacts just like any other law. It's just that now we talk about the welfare of people in poverty instead of morality. For example, I pointed out that min wage people don't have enough money, that raised min wage improves health, and that the market benefits are resulted from raising the min wage. My opponent used stronger statistics over a longer period of time to get me to concede that there was negligible or even negative correlation with raising min wage, to having the market. You can also still use basic freedoms like liberty or right to the market to resolve the economic theory.
If you want we could practice some economic topic, like Capitalism vs Socialism or Min wage again. Planning budget vs policy is pretty similar tbh

On "Average" the child does not even have potential to become child (low success rate). So it is not wrong.

ok, and what about the fact that 80% of pregnancies before 20 weeks fail to give birth? Are we willing to have 4 women be unable to have liberty to their own body, and suffer immense physical and mental pain, for every single one baby that dies?

lowering doesn't matter? So what's the difference between Contraceptive being 98% effective vs abortion being 100% effective?

in addition, are you also inferring men are also meant to have babies? Or women somehow have sperm? How else would you explain homosexual sex?
Created:

@Checkmate
you’re a believer in Deontology, aren’t you? In that case, wouldn’t you say the intention to free oneself of a fetus which may or may not have life, outweighs the original intention to have sex? You forget that contraceptive is precisely there to allow people to have fun without making babies. Are you telling me we should not use contraceptives at all? Or that, when something is created for one purpose, we should not innovate and find new ways to use it? Your argument is begging the question.

fair enough about Oromagi. As for Chris I think he was just angry. Another user noted that his language is strong. You come off as condescending no offense
Created:

@Checkmate
the problem is that you are punishing people for taking a 2~3% chance risk. Look at it this way, if I went into a car with my son knowing there is a very low chance of accident but accepted it. I accidentally crashed my car and my son is bleeding to death. The doctors say I must be forced by legal law to be strapped to my son for life support for 9 months. Not to mention 20% chance of recovery. This is absurd and ridiculous. Almost no one would take this.

@MgtowDemon
Most of Ragnar's debates are on DDO where you say the problem is reduced. Not to mention BladeofTruth managed to win 99 debates in a row just like Oromagi. On DART the mod team may be smaller but the amount of debates are also less. If I purposefully vote in biased favor mods would very easily notice and delete the votes.

@Checkmate
of course it does.
Pro life think: "I wanted to create this baby. I have perfect capacity to care for it. Never mind, I'm going to kill it now."
Reality says: "Ah crap I didn't want this baby violating my body. I must fight for my liberty and natural rights, and to avoid a life of suffering for the child."

there's no vote manipulation though. Nobody knows Fruit; everyone knows Oromagi.

what are you getting at? Obviously it doesn't make sense that 30 million people would be getting contraceptives. The failure rate of contraception matches well with 400,000/37 million (1%!!). Do the math.

@Dr.Franklin
Women are still going to abort and it is going to be even more unsafe. Women are also going to claim miscarriage more and the illegalization would be chaos and very difficult to enforce. Democratic societies would have riots and be unsustainable. Men would abandon women who are forced to carry through, or the adoption centers would be overloaded with children with their mothers unable to support them.
Created:

@Dr.Franklin
it's not that simple; Abortion is simply wrong, but illegalizing abortion is even more wrong, so you could argue we're forced to take the lesser of two evils.

@Theweakeredge
yes, but Whiteflame wasn't convinced with my comparison to being forced to donate blood.
MisterChris killed my comparison argument by saying:
The mother freely elects to “serve as life support” when having the child, that is the inherent responsibility of motherhood”
“Second, even if the voter buys that by existing the baby has somehow done wrong, consider that the punishment must be proportional to the crime. Violating someone’s right to life is black & white. Life is the prerequisite to all other natural rights, so the punishment is proportional even if it is death. For instance, those sentenced to death have taken the lives of many people (i.e. in exchange for taking the lives of others, the perpetrator forfeits their right to life in response). On the other hand, it is universally agreed to be an unjust practice to execute over minor grievances. My liberty and pursuit of happiness are impeded in small ways daily (such as the fact that I must follow traffic laws when I drive, or the fact that I am not allowed to bring my orange juice into the movie theatre). These small inconveniences do not warrant me lining up everyone who has wronged me and shooting them in the back of the head, especially since many small sacrifices I make in liberty I make for the greater good (imagine how many lives people would take if they didn’t follow traffic laws). The woman sacrifices the right to kill her baby for the greater good of having a child… and finally the minor inconvenience a baby brings is not warranting death.”
“The right of a baby to live is more fundamental than the right of a woman to not be pregnant. To take someone’s life under the warrant that “my liberty and pursuit of happiness are being impeded” it is unjust and blatant homicide.”
I countered by trying to say the negative right to have her bodily invaded outweighed the positive "right to life". Chris destroyed Cambridge University's article by noting:
CON has already debunked the argument Cambridge makes. On many levels.
- First, this is an argument from unwantedness. Something CON has already debunked numerous times.
- Second, the “invasion” classification is bullshit. It labels a living child as something close to a parasite.
RECALL:“when a person voluntarily engages in a behavior which can produce reasonably foreseeable consequences, and the agent is a proximate and primary cause of those consequences, then it follows that the agent has obligations with respect to those consequences. In the case of procreation, the child needs care. To fail to provide it is to allow harmful consequences to obtain. Since the agent is causally responsible for the existence of a child in need of care, then the agent is morally responsible to provide it. “It is not an invasion, it is an invitation. You have incurred the known risk of child-creation as soon as you have sex. You’ve created a human who deserves protection from death. Once again, the right to life outweighs your right to not be pregnant.
I'm not seeing a way to win against MisterChris.

@Theweakeredge
really? How does the woman's liberty defeat the innocent life? It's much harder than Chris's debate about violent revolution against oppression, or slaves killing their masters. I certainly could not beat Chris over that idea.

@Theweakeredge
minority report is a movie where all crimes are predicted with 100% accuracy. This infers that they could also predict child birth with 100% accuracy. With the 20% success rate of birth out of the question we can now know it it is actually going to be a baby or still birth. As such you will know exactly which abortions to ban as the child’s life is now known for certain
Created:
Posted in:
-->
@Theweakeredge
to be fair I think supporting abortion in a world like Minority report would be nearly impossible, with legal leaps that whiteflame worries about out of the way. Pro life do have burden of proof due to innocent until guilty but MisterChris introduces a level of uncertainty that feels like Minority Report would Ban abortion

Oromagi never claimed nor wanted to be invincible. Only Ragnar hogs topics extraordinarily carefully. he would never debate Whiteflame on politics, nor you on philosophy, nor even Imabench on Frozen. why aren't dreams real? Because you can perform extraordinary feats within your imagination. The very fact that you could be dying in real life while having a good time in the dream goes to show your perception can be warped
