Just mentioned each side's main arguments and why you believe one side's were more convincing.

Your vote will likely be taken down. Also, I think you meant to vote for Con based on your reasoning.

In a debate about an island's statehood, you still tried to demonize whitey. Shame on you.

They can use wind if they have wind. But, having your country's power supply nearly entirely dependent on whether or not the day is windy is not really a good plan.

They have different prepositional phrases, so they are not the same sentence.

@mairj23

For those examples you provided, it appears that the percentage number was the subject. So, those would be correct.

Your original sentence:
99.9% of these comments is pure nonsense.

The word 'comments' was the subject. Try taking it out. 99.9% is pure nonsense. It doesn't express a complete thought. 99.9% of what? The sentence: "Comments are pure nonsense" does express a complete thought. It might be unrepresentative of your message, but it is still a complete sentence. '

The subject was 'comments', which is plural. Therefore, the verb should have been 'are'.

Ok, with all these new spending plans, how exactly can we afford to give Puerto Rico more funding?

Yeah, they should comply with the subpoena. I would disagree with voting Democrat just to stop Trump. You neglect that nearly every politician is corrupt, and while this is a serious problem, you won't avoid it by voting Democrat. Heck, Hillary didn't get sent to jail despite destroying evidence that the FBI requested (thousands of emails). I doubt Joe Biden will receive any charges for his corruption in Ukraine. This is a systemic issue, not a Trump one.

Yeah, we do need to improve those. However, you guys just don't get much sun as far as I know. You all would have to import a ton of energy.

I agree, it should be administered by doctors. That is the only legal way of going about it. The problem is, people are illegally acquiring and then selling them.

It is synthetic opioids like fentanyl that are killing people. Opium is made directly from the poppy plant's latex. The alkaloids in this mixture can kill you through cardiac and respiratory suppression.

Created:

@mairj23

That depends. Humans can create compounds by mixing elements. So, we created those and then created the medication. What exactly is your point? Just because one part of the product comes from a plant doesn't mean the whole thing isn't its own creation.

The chemicals are a creation. The poppy plant isn't. When you mix certain quantities of each, you get a new creation. I would argue that heroin is a different product than a pain killer. Wouldn't you? Why is that? Because they created something new by adding to it.

Tea is a different beverage than water. Cheez-its are different than cheese-flavored Pringles.

Created:

@mairj23

I was aware that you cannot patent anything naturally occurring. I never said we invented the plant. I said we created the medication. It is a creation whose purpose is to enhance the natural compounds.

What would be left you ask? The chemicals that alter the opiates. You know, the ones you mentioned earlier in your post.... But I'm sure you already knew that.

That is why these drugs are patented.... because they aren't just the herb.....

Created:

@mairj23

According to our patent system, yes, creating and improving(altering) are considered the same thing. They are then considered your intellectual property.

How many lives have been improved from this altering/improving? Someone with terminal illness and broken bones should just walk it off, eh?

You are claiming that these are facts, but that doesn't mean they are facts. Claim: all black people are murdering thugs. Now, since it is just a fact, I don't have to prove it, right? I claimed it is a fact, therefore it must be.

I'lL wAiT.!.!.!

Created:

@mairj23

Altering the opiates to make them more effective and more easily absorbed. I don't see what point you are trying to make here. Improving a natural product into something more useful is creating something. But, I bet you'll double down and spew out more nonsense.

Could you perhaps provide some statistics for you claims? Can I just claim anything I want and tell you that I will wait?

I'll wait.

Created:

@mairj23

I know that opioids are painkillers. I said we make them, then apologized for the creation of painkillers. Learn to read, please. I simply rephrased it to explain why opioids are a good thing.

So again, not denying that black people are the main drug dealers. I'm a little disappointed, but I am also proud that you accept facts over your feelings now.

Created:

I don't know who that is.

Created:

@mairj23

Yes, white people make opioids. I'm sorry we made pain killers.......????

I'm not even sure that your claim about most meth dealers being white is correct due to your lack of sources. I would like to point out that you single out meth. Probably because black people sell more of all the other drugs(and perhaps meth as well, unless you prove otherwise).

You know, we can all live how we want without secession. It is called federalism, which we are supposed to use.

California's secession wouldn't be too bad, though.

Yes, the murderous thugs that disproportionately commit crime aren't the real domestic terrorists. Detroit is just a utopia since whitey left, isn't it?

@Nemiroff

Ok, but should people be able to defend themselves. How do I defend myself from someone much larger who has a knife or crowbar? How do women defend themselves from rapists? They need a gun.

Our problem is obviously gun smuggling. In only 18% of gun crimes, the legal gun owner committed the crime. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/07/27/new-evidence-confirms-what-gun-rights-advocates-have-been-saying-for-a-long-time-about-crime/

I was referring to gang violence. The list you showed just includes gang activity. Maybe in Italy, they have more racketeering and property damage?

Oh, the Cartel, eh? "Mexico has extremely restrictive laws regarding gun possession." It is almost like gangs will break the law and get guns illegally even with strict laws.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firearms_regulation_in_Mexico

Perhaps you could mention where you disagree with our current interpretation of the 2nd Amendment?
As for self defense "In 83.5% (2,087,500) of these successful gun defenses, the attacker either threatened or used force first, proving that guns are very well suited for self-defense." http://www.gunfacts.info/gun-control-myths/guns-and-crime-prevention/

@Nemiroff

Guns aren't the problem. Britain got rid of guns, now they have stabbings. Now they are trying to ban knives. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2018/04/09/london-mayor-knife-control/500328002/

Obviously the tool used is not the problem.

And you will notice that those countries with worse gang problems typically(not always) higher rates of gun violence/homicide. In the EU, there are far less gangs than the US.

We have 33,000 violent street gangs, sir.

https://www.fbi.gov/investigate/violent-crime/gangs

The rate of defensive gun use is six times larger than that of criminal use. Lots of other good pro-gun facts here as well.

@Nemiroff

Which specific graph were you referring to? If it was that we have more homicide per 100,000, that is because we have a lot more gangs. The vast majority of gun crimes aren't committed by legal gun owners. If you need sources, I can grab them.
