@RM
If you truly understood what infinite series are, you would naturally know that 0.9r = 1
The formula for infinite series is as follows: S∞ = a/1-r
S∞ is the sum of the infinite series
a is the first term of the series
r is the common ratio of the series
We can break down 0.9r into the following infinite series:
0.9 + 0.09 + 0.009 + 0.0009 + ...
In this case, we are solving for the sum of this infinite series.
0.9 + 0.09 + 0.009 + 0.0009 + ... = S∞
a (the first term) = 0.9
r (common ratio) = 0.1 (each subsequent term is being multiplied by 0.1)
Now we just plug this into the infinite series formula.
S∞ = 0.9/1-0.1
S∞ = 0.9/0.9
S∞ = 1 (Any number divided by itself is 1)
If you aren't, then I'll be glad to explain to you that the $5000 is the total prize money to be won in a debate tournament that they have (had? I dunno).
Considering your intentions for having the debate in the first place, then yes, this is very much troll-y. Also, it is VERY obvious to everyone, not just trolls.
If there is an option, then it would be up to the mods to decide. Just like with FF debates, you don't know whether a debate is troll or not until after it began.
Troll debates are unmoderated. Since I find this debate to be troll-y in nature (and so do the mods since they didn't remove my vote), my vote should not be removed. Also, even if it was removed, it would not affect the outcome of this debate.
If there were no sources, then you could literally say whatever you wanted and get away with it. Sources are literally the only way of proving the validity of a factual argument.
"Yes and you will probably win too which is why I wanted it unrated, people don't listen to reason, they listen to appeal to authority so long as the authority is regarded as very strong in reason (AKA a science authority)."
Well, it depends on the argument that both of us provide ;)
"I will not be arguing for a flat earth model in this debate, I will hint at it but barely go into it. I am going to focus on Nixon and the moon landing."
"Flat Earth is harder to explain and near-impossible to prove in any manner in a debate like this but I do consider myself to be a flat earther.
If your concern is the edge or why you can't see the other side of the world from your side, it's because the outer ring is Antarctica (the centre is the Arctic) and that there's a maximum range of vision. Once you fully and utterly understand those 2 things, you will stop saying that Flat Earth is impossible and start then reasoning in terms of probability, not possibility."
"Yes, for real, I have been trying to quit for a long time and frankly it's clear to me that being smart isn't correlated with the winrate, simply being cowardly and smart combined is. I have lost nearly all drive to 'prove myself' but that tiny bit that remains is always there every time I quit so this being my finale is what I want to go out with."
Ok then... let's make this good (at least I will) ;)
I will create another identical debate as this one when I have the time, for those who are interested. I will make it 2 weeks/argument and however many characters we need for the argument (as my last argument showed, a lot more than 10,000).

My guess is that Risky112 recently came over from DDO, since there, definitions and whatnot are provided in the 1st round, instead of in the descriptions. He probably didn't know what to do with first round.
Look at my proof again. Tell me exactly what is wrong with it.
If you can’t do that, then my proof is solid and 0.999...=1
@RM
Did you even look at my proof?
If not, then you are willfully ignorant.
If so, then you are downright stupid.
@RM
S∞ = 1 (Any number divided by itself is 1)
0.9 + 0.09 + 0.009 + 0.0009 + ... = 0.9r
0.9 + 0.09 + 0.009 + 0.0009 + ... = S∞
Therefore, S∞ = 0.9r
S∞ = 0.9r
S∞ = 1
Therefore, 0.9r = 1
QED
No and no...
I'm not asking to make you feel bad.
My highest level of education has nothing to do with this.
The reason I asked you the question is because you don't seem to understand the concept of infinite series.
@RM
What obsession?
I was asking an honest question.
I'm not stalking you either, stop being delusional.
@RM
What is the highest level of education you completed?
Traffic lights are pretty important tho :/
I mean, without them, traffic would come to a halt
Forgot to tag you, see comment #32
1. Which authorities are you referring to?
2. My point still stands
3. I'm glad you're happy with your life now ;)
XD lol
Also, Bish and Virt are far-left. I don't think they'll care about what you say about Reagan, lol
I'm not going to use appeal to authorities in my argument. That's a fallacy, and I don't do those.
So, how was your two-week long hiatus?
I don't know if you're trolling or not.
If you aren't, then I'll be glad to explain to you that the $5000 is the total prize money to be won in a debate tournament that they have (had? I dunno).
Just curious, have you guys ever heard of something called Qallout?
They basically do the exact same thing as this lol

This isn't the worst argument he's made...
No problem!
Also, this is unrated, so I don't think it's going to be removed
I'll write a more detailed vote when I have the time

Ok
Wait are we talking about purposefully ending it, or otherwise?
sure
Yup, of course. I'll make it two weeks.
If you wish, we could have a debate with a wider scope of topics, including the ones you stated. It would be a lot lengthier, though ;)
As I stated in my R1 argument, I will drop BoP requirements for Con.
Do you mean that god measured out the exact proportions of everything in the universe?
What is this supposed to mean?
Ok, got it.
**Note to self: magic mushrooms are bad
That was the worst non-sequitur I've ever heard
Same thing goes for sarcasm
"I don't know why you're being so sarcastic and winking after making an 'I'm better than you' toned comment but it really isn't subtle or pleasant."
If you take offense to me winking, then I can stop
"Yes and you will probably win too which is why I wanted it unrated, people don't listen to reason, they listen to appeal to authority so long as the authority is regarded as very strong in reason (AKA a science authority)."

You do you, bud ;)

That... is... I don't even want to get into that.

Wait, for real?
Yeah, I know. I would have made this open challenge, but RM and I agreed to this debate in PMs beforehand.
Yup. I know right? I was surprised the first time he told me this too.
Thanks! Though, if he does bring up flat Earth in his argument, I have many ways of dismantling it.
I will create another identical debate as this one when I have the time, for those who are interested. I will make it 2 weeks/argument and however many characters we need for the argument (as my last argument showed, a lot more than 10,000).

Wait why are there these rules to begin with?
Here you go, sir
Or that Risky112 is new to online debating in general.
My guess is that Risky112 recently came over from DDO, since there, definitions and whatnot are provided in the 1st round, instead of in the descriptions. He probably didn't know what to do with first round.
Don't worry about it. If he means to debate this seriously, then he'll provide BoP in second round.
