Ha! I had no idea Ralph could rap. This was pretty good.
Con: I like the integration of music and the informal use of oblique rhymes. The thing is that your jokes seem to rely on a lot of references that need to be explained. This, coupled with your unstructured freestyle beat, makes it harder to "sing the words" in my head because I keep having to pause mid-beat to reread stuff and catch references. Regardless, it feels like your raps aren't being expressed properly on a text medium, you could always try rapping out loud and submitting via youtube.
Pro: Went for a much more simplistic style of rap. Just four stanzas with two rhymes each - basically the English 101 version of any poem. This simple structure made it easy to follow the rhythm in my head. Clear use of spacing told me where to pause. Ralph stuck with full rhymes; while this comes across a bit forced it also makes it easier to keep a melody in my head.
Pro won the debate in my mind with this:
"Your raps are too drawn out, learn to write more succinctly
You're writing for you instead of sending a message distinctly
This ain't your mixtape, it's a battle you better get it in sync G. "
Good debate! I liked Bernie more than Hilary in 2016, but Con made some really good points.
Pro claimed that Hillary is corrupt, a fake democrat only in it for power, and is too moderate to make changes. Their argument used a lot of Ad Hominem and conspiracy directed against her.
Con pointed convinced me that Bernie hasn't faced the same level of scrutiny as Hillary. They also convinced me of the value of small incremental change over time. The tax plan thing was a major point as well; I didn't realize Bernie's proposals came with such a massive increase in taxes.
Conduct: Pro forfeited the last half, so points to Con.
Full forfeit
Pro Forfeited
Arguments: This one was close. In the end, I was left more convinced that the "proof of materialism" was in itself, not materialistic, and since we can experience that it must be real. This is a bit shaky, and pro even contested this idea by claiming that consciousness is immaterial, however they didn't attempt to back up their position when it really counted.
Conduct: Awarding the conduct to Con because Pro forfeited R4.
