Would you be interested in having a debate with me?
Right now I am fairly time constrained, I can add you to the waitlist lol. I want to debate Bones and whiteflame when I have the time also.
Were there ever any books that school required you to read, that stand out in your memory, if so, why?
"The Call" by Os Guinness was required reading for my ministry class, and I highly recommend it. It was seriously challenging on all fronts, forcing you to confront the question of the purpose of your existence.
How much chuck could a chuckwood would if a chuckwood could would chuck?
He would chuck, he would, as much as he could, and would as much chuck as a chuckwood would if a chuckwood could would chuck.
what music artists and genres do you enjoy listening to the most?
I listen to anything that sounds good! And that is a lot...
A lot of my favorite artists are underground producers who create instrumental music.
For example,
Skeler, who makes hard wave
https://open.spotify.com/track/1SMRiuk5Yt1IJztGGw7LvG?si=7576a540920a447d
Felimos and the like, who make sort of wavy instrumentals
https://open.spotify.com/track/2UnJhVSzoz5eq8vgIdjFdi?si=3ea23b90b05a4404
I even make some music like this:

how do you feel about managing to get to second place on the leaderboards?
I feel some pleasant satisfaction and, weirdly enough, I feel motivated to improve further by it. I eventually want to knock Oromagi off his throne, although that may be a pipe dream.
do you have any tips for beating you in a debate?
Basically every debating tip I've shared can be used against me effectively (as well as against any other debater). On a more personal level, I can sometimes get in over my head on topics that I know little about... My knowledge on the Middle East, raw economic theory, and healthcare are pretty pathetic for instance. I also have a habit of accepting debates when I have a strong opinion even if that debate affords me a higher BoP. On certain topics, I'm sure you could exploit that.
Good luck
when, if ever, do you think you'll lose your fifth debate?
Probably whenever I choose to challenge/rematch with Whiteflame, Ragnar, or Oromagi.
What got you into politics?
Trump's run in 2016. That's when I really started researching into different ideologies
Do you go by Chris or Christopher irl?
I go by either, but a lot of people call me Chris for sake of brevity
any extra debating tips?
Sure.
- Always frame the debate to your benefit. You can even do this implicitly, just make sure to establish some sort of framework through which the judge should view your impacts. If I'm giving a laundry list of benefits for example, you can tell I'm appealing to some sort of utilitarian frame.
- Pay close attention to the resolution. Doing so can help you figure out if certain arguments are or are not within the scope of the debate and can help diffuse your opponent's arguments in the process (for example, in my VR debate with Undefeatable I argued that since "effectiveness" has nothing to do with being "just," his arguments were largely outside the scope of the resolution).
- Dedicate your final round to some last minute rebuttals and then crystallization. I've only recently started actually implementing this tactic, and it has served me well.
- Use various methods of refutation as seen in my "A Brief Guide on Refutations" to stack rebuttals on top of each other. The extra padding this tactic creates has saved my ass a time or two: https://www.debateart.com/forum/topics/5081-a-brief-guide-on-refutations
- If you are at a loss as to how to address an argument, stop writing and think on it for a few days. After you have taken your break, reapproach it, scouring the web for answers. If all else fails, OUTWEIGH!
What's your opinion of the war on terror?
I can't comment on this comfortably, I'm just not educated enough on the subject as a whole
I'm aware that you're a fiscal libertarian. Generally, what are your views on non-fiscal issues i.e. social policy, immigration policy, foreign policy?
My immigration policy ideal is that everyone comes through legal means and that anyone (except for the obvious exclusions: those who do not pass criminal background checks/constitute national security risks) can become a citizen as long as they are willing to uphold the values of republican democracy and capitalism. I really do think immigrants are a net positive asset.
Foreign policy... Well, let's just say I'm split on the issue. I'm not certain whether the US should stop being the "world police" and focus on internal affairs more, or whether the US should maintain its hegemony and diplomatic ties in order to contain threats such as China.
As for social policy... you'll need to be more specific
Conservatism > Libertarianism or vice versa
I suppose it depends on your definition of either, although in general I'd say we could use a good dose of libertarianism... We just have to ensure that, like with any ideology, we don't go too far down the rabbit hole.
what's your new profile pic?

why'd you change your pfp from All Might?
I figured this new profile picture captured the spirit of the election quite nicely
Why are you so good at debating?
This is a strange question for me. For one, I don't consider myself more intelligent than the average debater on this site, nor do I think the average debater couldn't do just as well as I do.
Probably a big factor in my success has simply been my lack of forfeits. I've never forfeited a debate. I have conceded due to a lack of time, but that is rare. That in of itself inflates my win score quite a bit, as many debates are won solely on forfeits alone.
The second factor, and probably the biggest one, is that I always outwork my opponent. I'm sure I've made half-assed arguments here and there, but overall I think I put as much effort as possible into my debates. I spend a large amount of time researching and crafting the highest quality argument possible. And while my opponent may also have a solid argument, if I give five good responses to their points (typically "even if" statements. If I respond to the point and I want extra security, I'll say: "and even if you don't believe that, _____") and they give only one to mine, I am likely to win.
There's also some basic structural things I do that help too. I start with thanking my opponent, clearly stating the resolution, and then using an "observations" section to analyze the resolution, BoP, and why my opponent is ultimately faltering in their fulfillment of it. Then, I start my constructive. I label each overarching point I make as a contention, then make subpoints as necessary. For refutations, I always address my opponent's arguments as they appear, top down. This helps the judge follow along a lot easier, plus it's easier on you as the debater.
If you were to learn another language, which one would you choose?
Definitely Japanese. The culture and history interest me a lot, and I'd love to visit the country one day. Plus, anime with no subtitles! Yay!
detroit smash?
UNITED.... STATES..... OF SMAAAAAAAAAAASHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would you please explain to me why this topic is breaching CoC terms and why you have chosen to call it out?
I'm going to assume you're referring to your "Brother Doubting Thomas" thread.
To cite the 2nd subpoint of the Harassment section of the Code of Conduct:
"Creating threads to call-out specific users qualifies as targeted harassment, as does obsessive attempts to derail unrelated topics with impertinent grudges. However, criticising statements within an ongoing discussion, is fair game."
As this was a new thread made with the intent to stir an argument, it breaches this rule. If it were criticism injected into an ongoing discussion, then it would be acceptable.

Favorite food?
I was raised in the south... Nothing is better than fried chicken and gravy
Favorite Naruto character?
Tie between Jiraiya and Naruto for me
What made you interested in modding?
It was a pretty impulsive decision for me to apply when the position opened. I suppose I just jump at the opportunity to lead in whatever circle I'm in... And the opportunity presented itself here. I am glad I made the decision, though. It's been fun.
Thoughts on The Kid Laroi?
Not my kind of rap, but he is clearly doing good for himself.
What superpower would you want?
I'd want a shapeshifting ability. The ability to shapeshift into any person or whatever type of creature I want and inherit its abilities.
Favorite video game?
Another toughie, but by far I'd have to say Skyrim. It just hits different
Best TikToker?

Favorite person on the site?
Hmmm... Toughie. Can't say I have a favorite... but I think the person I respect most on the site is Ragnar.
Who'd win, Naruto or Aang
Naruto, no doubt. Avatar state is powerful and all, but Naruto can tail beast bomb the shit out of him.
Thoughts on Sword Art Online?
I enjoyed it overall.
Dropped it at the incest at first. Then sucked it up and sat through it. Overall, not bad.
It was the first true anime I have seen so maybe I am biased
Favorite western cartoon?
By FAR Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Top 5 Animes?
You will come to see I'm a very simple-minded Shonen fanboy.
1. Naruto + Shippuden
2. One Piece
3. Bleach
4. My Hero Academia
5. Black Clover
My Hero and Black Clover kind of tied for me rn. Black Clover is still ongoing so it's going to get better I think
followup question, how'd u become a believer?
When I was a young boy, my Lord and Savior (the One & Only Flying Spaghetti Monster) wrapped his succulent tentacles around me and... well, this next part isn't very appropriate for the kids
do u pray to our lord an savior the almighty spaghetti god?
After every breakfast spaghetti
Are you for or against mail-in-voting in general?
In 100% honesty, I'm indifferent as I've researched the topic very little. If I had to choose with a gun against my head, I would say I'm against.
From a very unresearched point of view, voting with mail would be a good way to have instances of fraud.
Plus, voting in person removes potential biases. For example, if I'm a Trump supporter but all of my family is liberal, I could very well be pressured into voting Democrat if they are able to freely view my voting decision.
Do you think religious freedom should account for cults? Why or why not?
If they do not harm themselves and others, why not? You can have a peaceful cult. However, when your right to religion starts to impede on the right to life, there's a problem.
How'd you become a mod?
Welcome to the site! Every so often we look for new moderators for any number of reasons. I was selected from a pool applicants, you'd have to ask Virtuoso why I was chosen though.
How do you get a girlfriend?
If I knew I'd tell you
If 100 people in your age group were selected randomly, how many do you think they’d find leading a happier life than you?
Tough question. I do not suffer from mental health issues like depression, which seem to be rampant in my age group right now, and I have relatively many things to be thankful for. I would say I am overall happy with how my life is going. Just for that, I would place my happiness at about 75th percentile.
Did you have a happy birthday last week or so?
I did! Thanks for asking.

That's really good actually, thanks dude.
Eminem is a very very serious guy in person, he is not fucking around in his raps.
Power to him, then. Music is expressive, not PC.
Do you think Eminem is too rude?
Maybe as a persona. I think he is blunt and insensitive, whether that is bad or good depends on the context. Do I agree with him telling his fans off in 2016? Not really, and I definitely dislike Trump. I do think his fight against the media is a good battle to fight though. Again, though, I think it is more of a persona. I would have to talk to him in person some
What do you think of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7c3Ie40Trfg
Beat is pretty good but not much into the backing vocals, lyrics make up for it though. Any rapper that requires me to whip out a dictionary is good in my book. I'm revisiting Eminem alot lately.
What is your favourite genre of music?
Can't say that I can choose just one.. the ones I listen to most though are rap, metal/nu-metal, certain EDM, and actually a little sprinkling of classical in there somewhere.
Is your profile description a reference to me?
No sir, it is not. Just my own horrible sense of humor.
