shitting on a largely imaginary group of poor people.
I’m shitting on Republicans who bitch about socialism except when it helps them. Red Mississippi wants money from blue states to repair infrastructure.
Why don’t they raise the money themselves in Mississippi? So much for self-reliant rural people. They are a bunch of beggars.

Oh my God, a tax donor state is asking that they also benefit from some of the federal money blue states are leaching off of them. The audacity.
You have it ass backwards dummy. The red states are the leachers. The west coast and the northeast is where all the money comes from to support the poor, lazy red states.

Certainly in the Deep South the typical welfare user is not a republican voter
Again, you are saying that welfare is the only form of Socialism in this country and that is a lie. Are you too dumb to wrap your head around this?

There are all kinds of redistribution of income in this country such as corporate welfare and assistance for farmers, social security and Medicare.

It’s all socialism but I have a problem with republicans who think welfare is terrible but all the freebies they get is totally appropriate and not at all socialism.

It is Socialism, but socialism for white people is good. Socialism for black people is bad. You obviously think only black people get help from the government but that is a lie. You rationalize help for white people as something different. It’s not different.

Socialism for black people is bad.
Obviously with your racist prejudice against the black Democrats that live in Jackson. Most people will disagree with your radical racism though.

But go on attacking all the imaginary impoverished white supremacists that have no drinkable water in Jackson. I am sure that will make you fun at parties. (whatever your fetish is)

That’s bullshit. All these people are poor and stupid and they all get support from the blue states. The fattest, dumbest , poorest Americans live in red states.
You have no idea what you're talking about. Map of poverty in the US by county: county: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_U.S._states_and_territories_by_poverty_rate#/media/File:Poverty_in_the_U.S._by_county.png as you can see, the heaviest concentrations are in the black belt, south Texas, New Mexico, and Indian reservations scattered throughout the country. The only counties with 30%+ that have lots of Republicans are Kentucky and West Virginia coal country

The exit polls aren't super reliable but they have some rough validity. According to the exit polls, Biden won every income bracket under 100k while Trump won above that https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/11/03/us/elections/exit-polls-president.html

Partisanship of food stamp recipients: "about one-in-five (22%) of Democrats say they had received food stamps compared with 10% of Republicans. About 17% of political independents say they have received food stamps."

I'm not saying this to attack Democrats--there isn't anything at all wrong about winning the votes of poor people. But man is your narrative wrong lol. Look at some granular data for once. You're literally shitting on YOUR voters lmao, and coming off as a complete ass while doing so

Again, you are saying that welfare is the only form of Socialism in this country and that is a lie. Are you too dumb to wrap your head around this?

There are all kinds of redistribution of income in this country such as corporate welfare and assistance for farmers, social security and Medicare.
Finally you're saying something that is at least an argument. Social security isn't welfare, both eligibility and pay out are earned benefits. Medicare is making sure retirees get healthcare and helps people of all races in all states. Point is, many of the net taxpayers that support these programs are Republicans. We're all in this together!

You have it ass backwards dummy. The red states are the leachers. The west coast and the northeast is where all the money comes from to support the poor, lazy red states.

The people pushing for welfare against those that are saying everyone should work are the ones who value hard work? Weird take

I’m shitting on Republicans who bitch about socialism except when it helps them. Red Mississippi wants money from blue states to repair infrastructure.
Why don’t they raise the money themselves in Mississippi? So much for self-reliant rural people. They are a bunch of beggars.

I think within the first few responses it was already proven this was a blue part of Mississippi.

outdated water infrastructure in mostly black neighborhoods.
This is really sad. But it also misses that outdated water structure is a problem in many ethnically diverse regions as well.

In many parts of Virginia, such as Virginia Beach, [1] the public water system has toxic chemicals and compounds in it. The average salary in Virginia Beach is $69,332 [2]

Additionally, Northern Virginia's drinking water has toxic amounts of PFAS, or forever chemicals. [3] Northern Virginia is one of the richest metropolitan areas in the country. [4]

America, as a country, simply has outdated infrastructure.

No amount of government spending will fix it, because most of the reason the water treatment systems become outdated is due to horrible maintenance, not bad equipment. A person can make pure water using a pot and stove. The government can do it too. They just choose methods that produce toxic water treatment.

And this isn't just my opinion. This is even the opinion of the Congressional Research Service:

Additionally, recent economic research suggests that during an economic expansion, with a relatively strong labor market, infrastructure investments are unlikely to have any sustained impact on the unemployment rate. During a recession, the same investment is likely to reduce the unemployment rate to some degree. [5]
Investing in infrastructure does not make much of a difference to most people's economic well-being because government corruption keeps it from paying off (pun not intended).

Earned benefits? Yes if you can call earned benefits something that you barely pay for. People get way more out of Social Security and Medicare than they pay in. Because it’s socialism. Democratic Socialism. Which, as a Democrat, I support. We all know who created and supports SS - Democrats, and a guy called FDR.  Same for Medicare, only it was made law by LBJ.

What I’m against is Republicans who rail against Socialism except the Socialism that they benefit from. They are hypocrites. And all those ball cap wearing Trump supporters with their low incomes benefit from all kinds of Socialism in this country even if they are too dumb to recognize it.

The discussion on poverty/ who is actually poor was in reference to your comment “That’s bullshit. All these people are poor and stupid and they all get support from the blue states. The fattest, dumbest , poorest Americans live in red states.”

Are YOU dense? If most republicans are net taxpayers they aren’t hypocrites for taking part in society (do they even oppose the type of policies you call “socialism”?)

Most republicans ARE NOT NET TAXPAYERS! Most red states are NOT NET TAXPAYERS! They are, poor, stupid and get way more from the federal government than they give. They tend to be rural, non college, white males who are blue collar workers. They oppose “socialism” except when it benefits them, everything from Social Security to subsidized crop insurance. Get it?

You are completely out of touch. One of the reasons that mainstream Republicans clash with Trump is because he is almost like a blue dog Democrat which is almost entirely extinct at the moment. He supports economic interventionism and so do his most vocal supporters.

Gov. Tate Reeves (R) declared Jackson’s ongoing water crisis an “immediate health threat.” Experts say this crisis was years in the making, a result of inadequate funding for essential infrastructure upgrades. For the past year, leaders of this majority-Black, Democrat-led city have pushed for additional funding from the White Republicans who run the state. Little has come of those appeals.

You know as well as I do that you don’t have to be in poverty to be poor. White people in Mississippi may not meet the Federal government definition  of poverty but they are still poor. The median household income there is 46,500 compared to 67,500 for the country
These average metrics are borderline meaningless. Mississippi has the lowest cost of living of any state. If you made 46,500  (or the federal median for that matter) in NYC, you’d be dirt poor. However, if you made the median income for the country in Mississippi, you could probably live in a nice suburb.

While it is a poor state,  adjusting for their low cost of living index score makes it come out to ~$55,800 income

He supports economic interventionism and so do his most vocal supporters.
Well he implemented protective tariffs and trade deals like the USMCA which hurt GDP and caused inflation. But Trump and his supporters are the people who bitch about socialism except the kind that helps them.

Good socialism - Social security, Medicare, crop insurance subsidies, taking money from blue states and giving it to red states, farm subsidies, subsidies for rural air service, subsidies for rural high speed internet, subsidies for 911 calls in rural areas,  Payroll protection loans, SNAP for white people, bailouts for airlines,

Bad socialism - Obamacare, Medicaid, SNAP for black people, a federal minimum wage, tax deductions for union dues, student loans, free college tuition, subsidized childcare,

That doesn’t help them build a water and sewer system does it? Because people don’t make much money and taxes are low, the state can’t afford basic infrastructure. So they have to beg the federal government for help to take money from blue states and give it to the red states. Cheap housing doesn’t help the governor build a new water system. Food, electricity, clothing, cost just as much in Mississippi as California.

Ya JoJo Parrot, those black people just don’t know how to build and maintain water systems. Water and sewer are under the control of the state and county government,  genius. But you are such are Trump bigot that you think the water system is bad because the blacks ruined it. ( yes, you are using “Democrat” as a euphemism for Blacks)

For Decades, Jackson has promoted a shitty culture driving out everyone who isn't a government leech.

Jackson leadership allows violent crime, corruption of all services, and mismanagement at every level. The people of Jackson don't take care of their own communities and then blame it on "racism"

People do not leave cities because of racism, they leave cities when they are destroyed by Democrat managers. Plenty of Republican-run cities in the South enjoy a thriving POC population that have assimilated into a culture that cares about the city they live in instead of blaming outsiders for their own problems.

If you are looking for wealthy POC in the south, it is highly unlikely you will find them in a Democrat-run city.

Places like Tupelo, Miss. are not run into the ground by corrupt Democrats and have plenty of wealthy POC (37% of the people in Tupelo are POC)and unsurprisingly, is run by Republicans. Can't blame that on "mah racism"

Seems more like blue voters voting for incompetent leadership that can’t even provide the most basic of services for its citizens. Not the whole state’s fault that a city can’t manage water utilities.

Why do these damn socialists always vote for people that lead to shortages???
