A relatively-leftist country went from nothingness to the 2nd most powerful country in like 70 years. Generalization is bad.

it was principles of liberty such as the free market and free trade that caused that, not leftist polices which hinder things like that.

I think you probably mean liberal policies and are so ill informed you conflate liberalism with leftism

No. I am talking about China.

You understand that better than me, but it sounds like they were struggling until they rolled back a lot of their leftist policies. Hong Kong is typically close to the top of the economic freedom index

There is a difference between medium-left and far-left. Far left didn't work. The current China still operates under a system where Capitalism is under Socialism's control.

Plus, economic freedom, by experience of me and billions of other Chinese people, is pretty good in mainland China. I wouldn't be saying this if China is communist at this point. Different kinds of leftism is different and different usages of different kinds of leftism is as different as different is different.

yes it is all on a spectrum. Left to right. It's just that if a country is ever failing economically it merely needs to move further right to correct and become prosperous, and the more right it moves, the more prosperous it always becomes. The economic freedom index shows many countries that you can see went left and became poor or went more right and became more prosperous like China.

Politics is really this simple

Move to the right to fix the economy and bring prosperity to the masses

Move left to placate the masses who think moving left will help them become more prosperous.

Ideally you move right while pretending to move left, so you can simultaneously help the masses, while they also feel they are being helped.

This is why Saudi Arabia is the US’s top ally. They aren’t science deniers like the left that think there are more than two genders. Amirite?

I live here and it has provided me benefits. The amount of progression is insane. How about you tell us why it is undemocratic or why being undemocratic is bad because most people here are happy.

good for you!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy_in_China,   the presidents are elected through only through the national peoples congress (2,980)
its a one party rule, xi jingping is dictator for life.

why do you think most people are happy??
also i doubt the uyghurs are very happy in china right now or any victims of the countless human rights violations

Nothing that requires experience is real, so it is better to believe in the lies that makes you happy than lies that makes you sad.

A relatively leftist country etc.
Where's that then?

I can think of a couple of relatively totalitarian countries that masquerade as leftist.

And then there's the USA....Who, based upon recent events, are currently ranked below Afghanistan.

LOL.

Aren’t you a Trump supporter? Doesn’t that make you a leftist? Don’t you want a military coup to reinstate Trump like many republicans were hoping for?

Sure, but China did not rise to 2nd place in econ power by adhering to Communist principles in the last 50-odd years. It embraced the value of a dollar and sought to acquire them. That's Captialism, pure and simple. China is politically Communist, but economically more akin to Capitalism. They unjustly manipulate the currency value, which is not legit capitalism, but China is still money-money-money for money's sake.

Let me ask you a few questions.

Liberals want economic interventionism.

Do totalitarians want control over the economy or Laisse Faire capitalism?

Liberals with the help of big tech have been pushing for censorship.

Do totalitarians censor speech?

I can keep going all day buddy. Do the policies of totalitarian states more closely resembles real Republicans like Ron Paul who want to limit government or like liberals who want to increase the size and scope of government like totalitarians do?

When they're the rich elite, they want the latter.

Rm, history has proven you wrong. Laissefaire allows anyone to compete.  Now you have regulations making it take 1 billion to bring a drug to market, squeezing everyone but billionaires out. Regulations mean it takes even more than that to start manufacturing cars, which only helps big car manufacturers like Ford and Chevy.

So every single example in history contradicts that absurd notion you stated.

Anyone with a 3 digit IQ, should know that more ability to compete by removing unnecessary regulations, means more competition.

You ever notice in America how regional utility companies, hold monopolies.  Those monopolies were created by regulations, not by a free market. Your theory is just wrong
