What bothers me about AI, is human will being removed from the equation,
Though I suppose that has always been somewhat iffy,
Humans wills manifestations always limited, whether by nature, storms, beasts,
Or society, large majority forcing ways of life upon one.

I don't like feeling helpless to evolution,
Which is what AI 'could be, forced evolution,
Which could go many ways,
GORT,
Or AI who doesn't let us do anything 'remotly dangerous,
Or AI who destroy or torture us.

I humans were immortal, or at least lived much longer (500-1000 years),
What effect would this have on prison sentences?

The type I mean, for example when someone gets a 150 or 250 year sentence,
Though I assume such people sometimes get their sentences reduced.

I suppose they might simply 'extend prison sentences, taking into account the new human lifespan,
Just increase said sentence by X many years, 100 year sentence for 100 year human, 1000 year sentence for 1000 year human.

I think video suggests,
People get their morality not from internal thought and soul searching, but from their leaders, institutions, and their community.

I think I'd agree that is often the case,
One of the 'reasons people elect leaders or institutions, is so that they can deal with various X problems.
Whether because we don't feel we have the time to deal with the problems, or to gain the expertise in the field of the problem.

So we can be quick to agree with broad vague plans that leaders and institutions propose.
Course, it often occurs that the 'proposal is skewed, partial, tangled, or flawed.
Not always, but it happens sometimes that leaders and institutions are opposed to other leaders or institutions, corrupt, or have different angles that they are going for.

As I search through various webpages on the concept of souls,
A thought among my many thoughts,

Believe and Think,
When I was a child, I did not think there was a monster under my bed,
I'd say I was 'sure that logically there was no monster under my bed,
But I still was careful not to let my limbs dangle over the edges of the bed,
Careful to get onto and off my bed quickly, when going to the bathroom.
Did I then 'believe there was a monster under the bed?
. . .
I suppose if some 'need had forced me as a child to stand beside my bed, I could have, and 'did I imagine.
. . Therefore I did 'not believe,
And yet another night or even 10 minutes later, that feeling back,
. . . Belief is not black or white then perhaps.
Nor is science and Think, I suppose, if one is skeptical.

Partially I've been looking up the concept of soul for the purposes of Worldbuilding,
Partially because even with my long stated doubts, I 'keep searching, like checking the couch for keys the tenth time,
(Sometimes they 'are there)
Partially because the Theory of Soul, has similarities with Psychology/Brain/Mind/Consciousness Theory. Which Soul might give an interesting approach/perspective one might not realize is a path to said similar concepts.

Look to the earliest sciences, they came about through the barest fringes of science. Only by the pursuit of the supernatural can it become natural. Though often it remains unfounded.

what does detectable/provable 'mean?
are people 'wrong to create theories before, and perhaps even never having the means to test and 'prove said theories?
Much science was gained by hypothesis before ability to prove.
I dislike some Atheists views on knowledge.

What would various other species look like if they practiced weightlifting like humans do?

I'd suppose that derby horses practice running, but don't normal horses do that already?
Sled dogs, might look different than other dogs?

Gorillas already have heavy bodies they lift around, chimps already use arms a lot probably.

But with science and social engineering, maybe we can stop eating animals.
I imagine an ecosystem can be designed without 'some animals.
Maybe humans 'should be sterilized, but I don't think they'd agree to it. Besides, if we don't want this whole 'life situation popping up on Earth again, we would need to build a failsafe to destroy the Earth,
As well as some AI Fred Saberhagen Berserker Robots, without intelligence, to seek out and sterilize all life.

Hm. . . This all sounds rather insane, if I judge it from what I model most other human responses and values as. . . .

Veterinarian put down Claire the cat today.
Wasn't able to eat or drink last couple days without giving a yowl,
And wasn't much eating or drinking at all.

I suppose I note it here, to note my lack of emotion,
I'm not sure I cared much years ago when the dog was put down either, can't recall.

Sure I was nice with both, would walk the dog, play, pet, talk,
And they were nice with me, good pets.

Hm, do I not care much because they were animals?
Because death is expected someday so why worry?
Just more selfish focused?
Other?

Wasn't able to eat or drink last couple days without giving a yowl,

Similar thing happen to our2 - 13 year old, outdoor cat, back 3 months ago. His breath smelled and turns out vet found he had infection in his mouth. Loss weight also, and would open mouth try to meow and no sound.

So about a mont ago he had relapse, and vet gave him anitbiotics et again, and now he gained much of his weight back and is a happy kitty, --comes a running for his food when wife calls--   except, for still no sound comes out his mouth when he tries to meow.  So some damaged my have happened to his vocal chords. Dunno.

Our cat loves to get swept with the broom over his head back stomach etc.

Our cat never drinks the water in the steel bowl we give him. Prefers toilet water
