Why did God make humans the most sexually sensual species if lust is a sin?

@Stephen

Did I say the read must be in a particular language? No, I did not. Do not assume I intended to signify any specific language. The more languages in which one reads biblical text [considering even its known antiquity], the better, because there is no language to be compared with another that will translate word-for-word across the two languages. That is an attempt to translate by cultural comparison when one may not fully understand the culture of either language well enough to do better than an attempt of dictionary-to-dictionary translation, but that is what we have, unfortunately, and therein is most of your issue with biblical contradiction. But you seem to want to ignore that point. That's on you. And you seem unable to reconcile that I can believe the Bible as the Word of God, in spite of those difficulties with it.

As for the power of the Holy Ghost, by its power, ultimately, step by step, precept upon precept, one can know the truth of all things.

You may say, "What? Become like God?"

I reply: "Yes. It is a long journey, and, as said, the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. So, there are many steps to go, many more than a thousand miles, one after the other, but, yes, that is the ultimate achievement of man.

No. If there is no doing, there is no teaching by failure.

Doing something is the act of accomplishing an end goal. Whilst trying leaves room for the possibility of failure.
If your end goal is failure, are you learning anything? Correct me if I’m wrong.

Absolutely I learn from failure. If nothing else [and there usually is] I learn how not to do something. Why repeat a failure? That only proves I'm insane, yeah? - and I probably am. Don't need catsup on it to spice it up.

We learn by acquiring and storing data.

So we consequently address failure, by applying newly acquired data.

We understand what caused failure and modify output.

- You should replace 'God' with 'Christianity'. In Islam, Lust is desire towards who is not yours, like say your neighboor's wife, which is sinful. Desire towards who you belong with & who belongs to you is quite encouraged & rewarded.

As long as they cover up literally every beautiful part of their body that is Allah's creation, in fear of arousing men who would be entitled to act on said lust according to Sharia Law.

- Of course it is much more sensible to uncover every sexual part of your body to arouse strange men with whom you will not mate. That is less conducive to unlawful mating! I'm being sarcastic of course! LOL!

- Point? I see all this is propaganda nonsense. No substance whatsoever. It is a statistical fact that Muslim countries have, overall, some of the lowest rates of rape & suicide. For instance, the country where I am staying now, Turkey has 2.3 suicides per 100k compared to 14.5 in the United States, & also has 1.5 rapes per 100k compared to 59 in Sweden. Now that's quite a difference... But of course you care nothing for facts, you only love to project your country's dire shortcomings!

Because the only reason to show skin of the arm would be to entitle men to fuck the absolute shit out of you since they can't control themselves right?

/s

The men should be taught self-control, the human body is beautiful and to be enjoyed and expressed without people who can't control their perversions dictating others to 'hold her body in a cage' to appease them.

When a woman has to be scared shit to show some arm and leg, let alone other stuff and curves due to sheer terror of being raped and the society blames the woman instead of the abuser, that society is one I have 0 sympathy for and want fuck all to do with.

- Sometimes showing skin can be revolting... So you are postulating that women should unclothe themselves in front of men, while men should clothe them in their minds once they look at them? There seems to me a lot of pretense in this...

The men should be taught self-control,
- So should the women.

the human body is beautiful and to be enjoyedand expressed
- Absolutely, with those you belong with not strangers.

without people who can't control their perversions dictating others to 'hold it in' to appease them.
- So men are perverse when they lust over exposed women, but women are not perverse when they seek men's lust? LOL!

When a woman has to be scared shit to show some arm and leg, let alone other stuff and curves due to sheer terror of being raped
- What does this have to do with rape?! Nothing.

and the society blames the woman instead of the abuser, that society is one I have 0 sympathy for and want fuck all to do with.
- A whore in a whorehouse and a nun in a church, who would the judge suspect of lying if they stand in court accusing a man of rape?

A lot of the old testament stuff about sex and the like was mainly unsophisticated man trying to construct normative meaning from the world around him with the limited tools at his disposal.  Observation and post-hoc inference being the two most ready at hand.

Your outlook actually disgusts me.

The nun has more initial reason to lie about a rape than a sex worker. Think about what's at stake for both if they admit they consented vs make a fuss.

That said, I wouldn't hold either as a liar. Nice try at your vile propaganda though.

If you ever  sexually assault anyone, you are to blame and need to assess yourself.

Imagine saying Allah made an entire body just for the foreskin to be ripped away and the entire body covered.

I assume you know of female genital mutilation (almost always done by Muslims) and are against that.

Belong with or to?

Who the fuck decides who a grown woman belongs with other than herself?

Nude art is a real thing and wearing a dress doesn't make someone a nymphomaniac.

A woman enjoying sex and seeking it out isn't immoral just because she's a woman.

- Same! This does not address anything I said.

The nun has more initial reason to lie about a rape than a sex worker. Think about what's at stake for both if they admit they consented vs make a fuss.
- Your devotion to your nonsense is making you think backwards, rational madman indeed... The nun indeed has a lot more at stake putting her dignity & her fate at risk just to expose her rapist, the whore in a whorehouse has none. I'm in awe of your bass-ackwardness.

That said, I wouldn't hold either as a liar. Nice try at your vile propaganda though.
- Are you a child?! Such a perfect defense, award winning lawyer over here boys... Have you tried joining the Supreme Court?

If you ever sexually assault anyone, you are to blame and need to assess yourself.
- I doubt them dudes would be eager to think that in front of the judge, but I'm sure if you tell them "assess yourself" they'll immediately weep in confession.

Did you know women lust too and men and women both can seek to attract them? Is that an alien concept to you?
- Glad you admit they can all be perverse. For a moment there I thought you assumed only men are perverse...

Imagine saying Allah made an entire body just for the foreskin to be ripped away and the entire body covered.
- You are referring to male genital mutilation right? Damn those vile Americans...

I assume you know of female genital mutilation (almost always done by Muslims) and are against that.
- Don't be alarmed by the label, they call those procedures female genital rejuvenation in America. It's a multi-billion dollar industry, apparently the US has the largest global market share (over 40%). The new anniversary gift trend.

Belong with or to?
- With, through consensual relationship (aka contract). To, through family relationship (aka blood or such).

Who the fuck decides who a grown woman belongs with other than herself?
- That's indeed a sound question. You should join the petition to abolish monogamous laws & statutory rape laws.

Nude art is a real thing and wearing a dress doesn't make someone a nymphomaniac.
- You should create a petition to abolish biology too.

A woman enjoying sex and seeking it out isn't immoral just because she's a woman.
- With & from those she belongs with of course.

Conditionees are.

That said though, conditionees aren't necessarily right.

Who is to say what is actually right or wrong.......A fantasy guy?.....A charlatan?

Conditioned morality is just that.

And "she" is either conditioned or not.

You literally just joked about female genital mutilation and rapists (being to blame for their sexual assault) giggling in a courtroom where there's lack of evidence against them.

I request Yassine to leave my threads alone permanently, he only participates in threads to spread far-right Sharia propaganda.

I'm a little surprised that you don't.

Though conditioning creates limits for us all.

On the other hand....Not wishing or trying to understand would be indicative of conditioned intolerance.

Nonetheless,  more than any other label, I prefer realist, and therefore accept conditioned intolerance for what it is.

Do you accept the validity of alternative points of view?

I do.

I am from what is generally regarded as the British Isles.....Or the not so United Kingdom.

People have a tendency to think that they are different. Which in respect of individuality and acquired data concepts is obviously true.

Though tenuous lines on a map, which represent fictitious lines on the ground, still only separate in respect of acquired data concepts.

And sex and lust and sensuality and sin, are synonymous with procreation and the inherent and acquired internal data thereof.

And if there is a conscious GOD....I doubt that it is bothered by the whacky stuff that we get up to on this tiny bit of space rock.

And in terms of "making".

I would suggest that a GOD principle might be responsible for humans, and humans are definitely responsible for GODS.

RM,

God wants you to enjoy sex. He wants you to enjoy it with your wife. The bible condemns lust such as watching porn, ogling women and wanting to fuck your neighbors wife.

Lust is listed as one of the 7 deadly sins, and it isn't in the bible.

For a long time Catholics believed sex should only be for procreation and not for fun, which is why it got labeled one of the 7 deadly sins, but the bible nk is fine with you having pleasure fucking your wife

Some might say that, "for they are arrogant" is itself pretty arrogant.

"What is a conscious GOD"......Not an unconscious GOD.

"What is a bothered GOD"......Not a disinterested GOD.

Presumably if one is a fairly strict adherent to a religious ideology, then one accepts a conscious and bothered GOD....(Correct me if I am wrong). Otherwise how do ardent theists conclude that their prophets speak the truth?

"Is this a political description or a philosophical one"......No, an attempt at a realistic one.....Politics and philosophy are derivatives of the aforementioned process.

As is an attempt at realism of course.....As is  everything I suppose  ...Including the assumption of the matter of the universe.

But for now, let's work with a basic tenet...I think therefore I am.

Completely ignoring the other replies to this post because the first words I saw were "genital mutilation" (and thus decided it was preferable to avoid the minefield), nonetheless I would still like to contribute my thoughts on the matter (I apologize if anything I say is redundant). I just want to note that my interpretation, Christian in origin as it may be, is often considered to be very non-standard.

'Lust' is one of the seven deadly sins. The seven deadly sins aren't mortal sins themselves, they are behaviours that may cause sinful action when they are uncontrolled[1][2]. There is nothing wrong with righteous anger or sensible lust towards one's partner in my opinion, and, to my knowledge at least, that opinion is backed up by biblical fact (this requires too comprehensive of an analysis to source completely and honestly [mostly out of laziness], but I can engage with specific examples if asked).

With that framework in mind, I'd ask why shouldn't uncontrolled lust be a sin? Our anger, our sloth, our envy, our lust can all be within reason, but we must be careful that we keep them under control. I believe that the necessity to not assault somebody from rage or to not envy the things that another owns so much that you seek to take it are self evident in the morality that exists within us all. Uncontrolled lust is the same. Engaging in sexual relations with the spouse of another or with someone who is not consenting are both obviously reprehensible examples of lust that is not being stopped or controlled.

Humans very well may be the most sexually sensual species, and that's because sex itself is not a sin. Lust is a healthy, normal thing so long as we engage with it in a healthy, safe, and consensual way. We will all exhibit some behaviours of some of the seven deadly sins at some point in our lives, but the point of those sins is to encourage moderation and control.
