My proposal would be:

(1) Add an "other" option.

(2) Change it from "sex" to "gender."
Okay folk, I'll change that in the next release. Not sure when it's gonna happen though, have a pile of things to manage after getting back from the vacation

On DDO, there were picture albums. I don't know the purpose, but I really liked it and it helped me organize my tons of profile pictures

Well, the difference is that DDO was making money and therefore could afford to pay for the storage and bandwidth and I simply can't, especially if it goes outta hand so to be honest, I am not that sure about the albums, maybe one day though.

That's already been implemented. If you mean email notifications, then you need to activate them in the notifications list section of your profile.

New changes:

1) Changed sex to gender and added "other" option.

2) Updated some internal components of the website to improve performance and stability but let me know if you notice that something doesn't work properly anymore.

I have no idea what you are talking about. What story? Can you build your question to be more specific regarding what you are trying to ask?

New changes:

Implemented a button to remove private conversations. There is one thing to note though, when you delete the conversation, it deletes the messages only for you, the other person still has access to them until he or she decides to delete them as well

PS: The release required quite a few code changes so if something stopped working or working incorrectly, please let me know and I'll try to fix it as soon as possible.

New changes:

1) Implemented a way for the mods to prevent specific users from voting on the debates.

2) Added 2 new fields to the profiles: country and native language. By default they are empty.

PS. I apologize for the multiple server restarts, I had to deal with some minor unforeseen issue.

So my plan is the following:

Tomorrow I'll push a new feature, it's nothing super exciting but it's at least something new. Then I'll make some changes to the voting system and after that, I'll work on the admin panel for me and the mods, because at the moment it's a piece of crap.

And only after that, we could work on this part, but as RM mentioned, we do need to get away from the DDO's format as far as possible and hopefully make it better, considering the experience.

New changes:

Well, I guess you have noticed the changes without me even mentioning them. This is the most simple version but it will be constantly developed, hopefully you'll like it :)

One thing to notice is that the medals don't work in the real time mode, there is a delay of a few minutes before they get awarded and it has a few nuances as well: for example, for some of the medals, which calculate the number of user's comments, posts and etc, they calculate only the instances that are older than 15 minutes, to avoid the situation when the user simply creates bunch of those, gets the medal and then deletes them.

PS The system has taken me some time and may have some bugs in it, so please, if you notice that something is not working correctly or not working at all, please let me know.

#3 #2 #1 should get gold silver bronze medal for having hit that rank. It's also BS that I was 1 and don't get noticed for it by the system.

Well, bronze is supposed to be something easy, getting to the third place in the rating is not that easy, so that was my logic. Regarding the situation with being at the first place, I am afraid I couldn't have implemented it even if I wanted to because I don't keep the records so there is no way to find out who has ever taken the first place.

Debates with forfeited arguments ... are now considered failed and are not the subject for the rating change.
Two problems with this:

(1) It's possible to have a debate with a single forfeit, where a debater nonetheless does a good job and ends up taking the win on arguments. Those are debates that absolutely should count for rating change.

(2) Even if one debater forfeits, it should be considered because:

(a) It creates a rating-based incentive to not forfeit.

(b) It's still a fair-and-square win; it doesn't matter if a debater forfeited, they made the choice to lose the debate. Or, at least, that's a community norm that should be followed to deter forfeits.

I think you should change it back, or, at least, see what the community thinks rather than just make changes because two people thought those fundamental changes should exist.

I agree with Tejeretics and RationalMadMan. Too add on some points through:

Firstly, "noobsniping" is more damaging against an active opponent geniunely interesting in debating then someone who logged on once and never came back. The policy of forfeits being null debates doesn't help novice debaters, which is what I'd think your policy was aiming for. I had to debate bsh1 one time on DDO, and it was when I was a complete newbie, but admittedly I punched down my weight too, to establish sone credibility.

My big issue is that its incredibly unfair to the debater that didn't forfeit to have been cheated out of ELO. Even on forfeit debates, you need to post arguments to win the arguments category. This includes full forfeits since there is jo benefit of hindsight that a skilled debater wasn't just busy. Writing up these arguments takes considerable time, energy, and data. When I started my Joffrey debate, I had to watch hours of Game of Thrones and analize scene by scene, and that ended in a full forfeit. It was extremely unfortunate someone accepted and proceeded to full forfeit, but the ELO was compsensation. Why should someone who spent hours formulating an argument lose out on both the enjoyment of argument and the potential ELO? Its an incredible waste of time and energy, and one that was totally unwarranted. If anything, the ELO penalty that used to come with forfeits punished someone who ruined a good debate people spent hours on planning. ELO should be given as a compsensation, especially when considering the unfairness of the situation; the non-forfeiter didn't do anything to cause a forfeiture, and doesn't even have much tools to ensure a nonforfeiture.

In conclusion, making forfeit debates not worth ELO doesn't benefit anyone, but hurts debaters who have personal time invested and no control of the opponent's debates. Its incredibly unfair to an active debater, and doesn't actually protect new members. Tejeretics and RationalMadman gave some up arguments too; but I feel like these two are other glaring weaknesses of the policy.

Well, I can prevent the rating change only if all arguments have been forfeited or zero votes have been casted. What do you think about that?

That's what I thought it was going to be (all forfeit debates don't count) Debates with at least one round from each side should still count.
