CROC is the only slacker left.  Ergo,
VTL Croc

My initial scum team is Lunatic, MisterChris, and GreyParrot based on non-response to basic TOWN question, blue or grey?

No it was Battle of Chickamauga. My character prevented it from becoming a worse defeat.

Let's avoid DP1 character claims unless absolutely necessary. Let's also avoid openly guessing what people's characters or roles are as well. That helps the mafia more than it helps town. (which isn't to say that I blame That1 for outing TNBinc's character. He gave it away.)

Oh wait. There are actually two different generals that TNBinc could be. Don't tell us which one right now.

I think 5 votes on Croc is enough right now. We don't want to actually lynch him.

that is my notetaking on how people responded to my questions.  I generally like to publish my reads in a very informational public format but don't take that as gospel because you never know who might be scum.  You are welcome to use those posts as reference but keep in mind I might be manipulating data to my advantage.  Other people publish their reads in other formats.

everybody must choose one from each list

  • You are Town.
  • You win with Town
  • You win with the Town
CONFEDERATE
or
UNION

those who answer quickly are less likely scum

Shelby Foote's "The CIvil War: A Narrative" is the finest history on the subject I've ever read.

I would also recommend Bruce Catton's Civil War trilogy and James McPherson's Battle Cry of Freedom.

I don't think I've read Shelby Foote's book on it yet. Now I need to find it.

Shelby Foote's "The CIvil War: A Narrative" is the finest history on the subject I've ever read.
How is this narrative focus written
Foote is considered part of that generation of great Southern writers including Faulkner, WIlliams, Warren.  He wrote as a broken-hearted Southerner whose analysis of race, slavery, Southern rights eventually challenges and tears down each of his deeply rooted patriarchal,  romantic beliefs.  Ultimately, his condemnation of Succession and modern racism is more authentic and personal than any other.

If you've ever seen Burn's classic documentary, he used Foote's trilogy as his framework and Foote is frequently interviewed for the high drama moments.

When Foote says narrative he means it. The battles unfold with thrilling drama and detail, minor characters are constantly rising and falling.  The writing is exquisitely clear and evocative.   He did all of his writing with an ink pen.

The whole trilogy is epic in size and scale as well- 1.2 million words.

I will admit that I don't have much reading on Civil War as a subject... But you're doing a pretty good job convincing me to pick up that book.
