Maybe you need to look in the mirror homie'

Sorry, your eclectic attempts at esoteric satire are not for the hoi pelloi, no matter how much you dress it up.

Good try though.

Perhaps you could do an interpretive reading of the ingredients of your next meal for us?

Your statements make you look kinda nuts, ngl

Well, it looks like we as people have no agreement on what far left and far right means. I was surprised by this. I thought there would be over all agreement but subtle differences. Not so at all.

Left and right can both be big or small, and can both claim to defend freedoms or safety. The difference is that the left promotes new ideas and radical change, while the right promotes traditional, stability, and the status quo.

Of course these are overall, and international generalities. Individuals or individual policies can be exceptions, however most will follow this definition.

How does the right wing claim to defend safety? How can the left wing be small government?

Right wing safety: prohibition, war on drugs, moral safety such as gay marriage/trans restrictions. Theocracies, police states. The left tends to police commerce, whereas the right tends to police people.

Left wing small gov: anarchy, defund the police. Small Gov is a dying strategy world wide since over 100 years ago. Not too many examples.

Defunding the police isn't about anarchy, it's about restructuring it from the ground-up with training courses including things like empathy and how to properly judge a situation's 'violence requirement'. Currently, the training blatantly lacks sufficient covering of those 2 topics.

Defunding is not about different training programs, but shifting some of the resources to  non police departments that would respond to non police issues, like mental health crisis, or wellness checks.

But i was listing various small gov examples, they were not linked to each other. Defund a gov agency, especially an entirely agency accused of over enforcement, is objectively a pro small gov policy.

It actually is. What you are speaking of is temporary solution, the idea will be that the police will both be trained more like those you mentioned are trained and that the relationship between police, mental health experts and sociologists will significantly be tightened to prevent anything like this happening ever again.

Pro small government implies that they want the police to remain unemployed or leave the police force, they want them retrained and transitioned into other sectors perhaps. Also the police are not the government, I'm not sure who told you that but 'small government' refers specifically to less bureaucrats, not to less enforcers of law.

Certainly the budget and physical size of the government isnt changing in that example, but the fact that the people can demand the change, and the government complies without excessive resistance... especially a change to enforcement, is a massive reduction in the size of the government's power.

Just because your definition of government curiously does not include the police... which are clearly part of the government. Does not mean it isnt part of the definition of others. However you do confirm my claim that the right mostly get up in arms over big gov in commerce (bureaucrats) but dont mind regulating people and social life ("police are not the government"). When i think big gov tyranny, it isnt an army of beaurocrats that first comes to mind, its hyper vigilant police and martial law.

What are your thoughts? Do you want to shift income from police to other things? If so, which areas are targets for that spending?

Can't read this because of subscription, but based on the headline, it calls for abolishing the police. Not saying that is the main "defund" police opinion, but it doesn't appear to be completely disregarded by the community.

While it's a bit too radical and naive what she's suggesting, it's true that more police isn't the solution, you need to make the people feel safe and engage harmoniously. This takes time and effort towards apologising, sympathising and all that stuff from the leader. Unfortunately, pigheaded Trump likes to stir the pot and aggravate so nothing she suggested can work with this shit stirrer for a president.

Hmmm I'll have to try this from a different angle. Nobody seems to want to define what the very most extreme of left thinking or right thinking is but rather move to the center and characterize in philosophical terms. That's not what I am asking.  We need a starting point, the point at which there is no left and no right.  Can we agree that pure anarchy, every man for himself, no laws, no rules, no govt, no justice no nothing is a starting point? Basically only the most physically strong can survive, no friends no allies just every man for himself.  If we can agree on this as a starting point I would contend all thinking is left thinking.  To the left is the only place to go from anarchy.  Anarchy cant last. So the most powerful and strongest will do one of two things. They will become a supreme ruler and enslave everyone by forming allies so each can sleep at night and not be murdered in their sleep and to help beat the shit out of people who don't do as they are told. The ruler and his allies are the govt or ruling elite if you will and everyone else is a slave. The ruling elite agree not to kill each other and force everyone with their power to be their slaves. OR they may get allies and agree to enforce rules that say you will be killed if you try to kill and rob other people but you may do as you please other wise. One could not leave their home or hunt or gather food if they had to always defend it 24/7/365.  Either way you look at it you are moving to the left . More laws more rules you move to the left until you go so far to the left you end up with the ruling elite and everyone else is a slave.  There really is no right leaning thinking, but only degrees of left thinking.  Moving from say communism to socialism is not right leaning thinking it's just less left thinking.

How does that reduce crime?

you need to make the people feel safe and engage harmoniously

I don't feel like people are murdering and robbing each other because they don't feel safe.

And I would also think it isn't only "pigheaded"pot-stirring Trump's fault. The black community needs to stop lying and saying cops are their enemy and they are hunting them when that statistically isn't the case. That is why they violently resist arrest and refuse to cooperate with cops, which leads to bad outcomes.
