(if we had a revive scroll or spell we could try killing the son then reviving him. I think ur right that he's toast though unless there is a cure we find in search of possible solutions supplied just for that purpose.

If we find a wish spell though, the son can stay toast for all i care. We should hold onto that for what usually is a climactic end to an aventure. 😂)

Well there seems nothing more to be done here at present. (And this place is creepier than an episode of Scooby doo.) I propose we find the others and discuss our next move.

The Church Party

The Priest: He's not a vampire! He's just... he's just sick. That's all.

The Tavern Crew

Ismark: Moaning and yelling can be heard coming from it night and day. And investigating creepy sounds is just something you learn not to do around here.

Noticing the sun is going down I also ask the priest. I wander away from him and continue cleaning up the church with presitidigitation making my way over to near the entrance as I clean. The scent of pine and cedar wafting throughout from the various candles.

How well restrained is your son by chance? Can't have him ruining up the place after all my tidying up.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that buddy. I'm sure the reason he can smell blood is because he has a sensitive nose. Do you want to help with your son or not?

The priest narrows his eyes at Snerp and resumes his praying.

Grahf looks around at the rooms of the church and uncovers the following:

B: This dirty, lightless room contains a wooden bed with a straw-filled mattress. Mounted above the bed's headboard is a wooden holy symbol.
C:  This dirty room contains a wooden bed with a strawfilled mattress, next to which rests a small table with an oil lamp burning brightly on it. Mounted above the bed's headboard is a wooden sun-shaped holy symbol.
D: Time and neglect have punched holes in the ceiling of this moldy room, which contains a few broken roof shingles amid puddles of water. In one corner, set into the floor, is a heavy wooden trapdoor held shut with a chain and a padlock. A young man's screams of anguish can be heard through the door.
E: An old desk and chair stand against the south wall, a wooden holy symbol mounted above them-a sunburst. A ten-foot-long iron rod attached to the north wall stands bare, suggesting a tapestry once hung there. Against the far wall stands a wooden cabinet with four tall doors.

Roberts and Luraxt part ways with Ismark and make their way to the church.

(Yeah... That might be more in line with a vengeance Paladin. But "devotion" in this sense means, honesty, courage, compassion, honor, duty. I'll note that willful violation of Paladin Oaths with no repentance can have... consequences).

The priest narrows his eyes at Snerp and resumes his praying.

Do you really think the morninglord is going to help you cure your son? You wish to believe your son is sick because you do not wish to acknowledge the truth before you.

Why do you think your church is in such disrepair?

I continue cleaning the church. Lighting candles as I come across them, speaking in a sharp and biting tone as I continue chastising the priest.

You are insulting the morninglord as a dawnbringer with how you have let this church fall dark, in disrepair, and become a house for the undead. You and I both know your prayers will go unheeded until you repent for what you have done here and cure your son. As long as he remains here you are but mocking him.

The morninglord actually might favor you if you were upholding your vows to him. It is clear you are not and as a bard that is dissapointing to see.

Perhaps we are that help the Morninglord has sent in an indirect way. Seems to be the case right now considering you sure aren't keeping the place clean and a beacon of light.

We are in a bit of disarray, though I would prefer to settle the matter of the priest and church so we would be fully rested before starting our journey west.

The priest sighs and looks down.

I cannot raise a hand to harm my son, but I will not stop you from doing what needs to be done. But without my son, I have nothing to live for.

Perhaps there are texts in the church or town which might gives us insight into the nature and any treatments to the son's aliment?

Well then its a good thing the plan is to find a cure for your son then isn't it? Care to help us isn't of mopeing around in darkness and despair

I go the the altar and pull out the bullseye lantern and light it, bathing the church in its bright light.

Now, have you asked your son about how or whom turned him? For that matter, do you know where we might find a spell scroll for reviving the dead? As a dawnbringer I'd think that'd be right up ur alley.

(his sons a vampire. Out of character if i recall the only cure is a wish spell or killing and reviving back to life. Something tells me we gotta seek out a revive scroll and fight the son. Silver sword gonna come in handy at that point.)
