Szoldar and Yevgeni shrug and prep the three normal wolves that were slain by the group. They stay away from the dire wolves, indicating that the meat on such wolves is "tainted".

(I'll take the k-9 teeth from the dires, unless they are going to take their heads)
Szoldar Yevgeni stay clear of the dire wolves and let Roberts have his way with them. They indicate that whatever you leave behind should be burned. All in all, the process takes about 2 hours, and the group is loaded up with wolf pelts, raw steaks, three wolf heads, and a hand full of dire wolf teeth.
Let's burn the corpses, short rest to heal up, then back to the search.
Day 4Afternoon (about 2 hours till sun down)
[Eikka Short Rest Heal: 2d8 (1, 4) + 4 + d6 (2) = 11 hp healed]
[Grahf Short Rest Heal: d10 (4) + 2 + d6 (4) = 10 hp healed]
[Luraxt Short Rest Heal: d6 (4) + 1 + d6 (2) = 7 hp healed]
[Luraxt regains a 2nd level spell slot]
[Roberts Short Rest Heal: d10 (1) + 2 + d6 (3) = 6 hp healed]
[Snerp Short Rest Heal: d8 (8) + d6 (2) = 10 hp healed]

(going dual wield so ac18 and use weapon bond over the short rest)
(Both your longswords are now bonded to you)
As the group burns the wolf remains, Roberts has some private time with his longsword.
Back to the search hombres 👏
Snerp continues on, searching for clues or signs of the girl and the direction she went in.
Szoldar: Lake Zarovich is nearby. Good place to recover and avoid another ambush. Clean weapons and gear.
Yevgeni: Clean gear. Da.
The hunters direct the party northwards through the woods to the lake.

@Buddamoose
(leave a trail of bread crumbs and search for your blue's clues, but I think we killed blue....)
The hunters navigate the group through the dense forest when it suddenly opens up at the shore of a large lake. The water is perfectly still and dark, reflecting the black clouds overhead like a monstrous mirror. Pulled up along the south shore are three small rowboats. A fourth boat can be seen in the middle of the lake, about 400 feet away, with a lone figure sitting in it, fishing pole in hand.

@drafterman
The fisherman there, you must know him, yes? He may have some information about the girl. Ask him to meet with us and we'll pay him for his time.
Szoldar squints and peers out into the lake. Hmm. Looks like Bluto. 'Geni?
Yevgeni takes a second look. Bluto, da.
The hunters call out to the man in the fishing boat, but he does not give any indication that he has heard them.
Szoldar: Bluto is local drunk. Trades fish for wine. Haven't seen him in weeks.
Hrmmmm,its interesting that he hasn't been seen in weeks. Stay on ur guard everyone this seems suspicious AF.
-->
@Buddamoose
He's probably dead which means he's no help to us. Investigating this will only take more time away from finding the child. Besides if he is dead he's not going anywhere and we can come back another time.
As the group observes the man, it is clear he is not dead. He reaches down into his boat and lifts up a large sack which is moving, then dumps it into the lake.
-->
@drafterman
(doh!) We now must investigate post haste! Given the gruesome finding in the last sack....speed is of the upmost importance. Man the boats and row with all your might!
Hurry!
Snerp rushes over to the boats and helps Roberts push one into the water.
Snerp and Roberts get a boat into the water and begin rowing rapidly toward the figure in the middle of the lake. They reach him just in time to see a wriggling sack sink beneath the surface of the water. The man in the body acts as if in a trance, paying them no heed as proceeds to fish.

The man in the body acts as if in a trance,
Snerp casts dispel magic on the man fishing.
Whats in the sack?!
(@roberts- ur gonna have to go down for the sack. My strength is garb. If the guy tries anything I'll cast hold person and keep him in place 👍.)
The man continues to pay no heed to Snerps or Roberts as he continues to fish. Roberts is able to reach in just in time to snag the sack and pull it aboard their own boat.

Stay still, im cutting the sack open to get you out!
Snerp takes out his dagger and uses it to cut open the top of the sack.

(most Mondays I'm at a different location than the rest of the week and the internet here sucks bigly, I'll tie the guy's boat to ours so we can bring it to shore, I'll start rowing while Snerp does his Snerpy things.)
Inside the sack is a girl, about sevon years old with pale skin and jet black hair. She sputters out water.
-->
@drafterman
Cast guidance medicine skill check healing word if necessary.
Other than having swallowed a bit of water, you have reached the girl before any real harm could have been done.
-->
@drafterman
What about the fisherman? Clearly the girls family will want a word with him.
-->
@secularmerlin
(that's what I was thinking, though after we question him first, I'm bringing him to shore with us)
He sits, mindlessly fishing.
