So to be direct in getting a clear answer to the question, man started Christianity, not Christ, is that correct?

There is a big difference between Christianity and other man made religions. Their central characters were all mythical. But Jesus was a historical figure and performed miracles as well as was resurrected like none other.

Mark 16:15-16 
And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
