OBVIOUSLY a border wall will greatly reduce the amount of foot traffic across the border, and make those who do cross over it easier to track and catch because it will greatly slow them down. obviously the wall would need border patrol and technology too. with no wall people can and will just run right through. 

the thing that is all the craze amongst liberals is simply to state that most illegal immigration comes from places other than illegal crossing, although they usually just ignore that that doesn't mean we can't greatly limit the illegal crossings too. liberals say we can use alternative methods to a wall, although they ignore none of the alternatives can do what a simple wall would do- limit people from just running across.

What is really more important.. ESPECIALLY if you actually care about the children dying in the desert...is what can the government do to stop the coyotes trafficking humans?

Since most of the coyotes travel through areas that have no wall, then resisting a wall means you support the coyotes that are killing children or bringing them half-dead to the steps of the border patrol.

Illegal immigrants and coyotes go where the Border Patrol is not. There are exactly zero records available where ICE is not present, and ICE is very present at airports. Coyotes do not deposit half-dead kids at airports, regardless of what your NPC news outlet claims.

probably the best post you've made imo, you are spot on.  the argument that most illegals don't come across the border is meaningless, the fact is many do cross the border a wall and more security will help minimize that.  Even if "most illegals don't come across the border" they don't want to fix that problem either.  Has any Democrat leaders ever said we need to fix the immigration system to stop the illegals coming in by other means than the border?  If they have a solution to stop illegals who come in other ways (not the border, and assuming most come in other way) then lets fix that and forget about the wall for now.

I think the article's author is making a reasonable point. Border walls have been shown to be effective and a Mexico-America wall could be effective but the extra costs that are associated with a wall of such magnitude and requirement beyond the initial build cost make it a poor option.

Yes, a border wall will directly stop people from running across, but on the other-hand so will policy that decreases the likelyhood that a person will make an attempt in the first place

Funding for additional border barriers seems like a good idea.

Center for Immigration Studies has shown that illegal immigrants, on average, are a financial drain on society.

Drugs, trafficking, and other crime also comes pouring over the border. 

The amount Trump is requesting, 5.7 billion, is actually a relatively small amount. Both sides are playing heavy politics.
