I've heard this concern about Harris and the Democrats having "anti child" and "anti family" policies. Can someone explain which policies they are and how specifically they're anti-family? If the answer is abortion, the 50 years of Roe V Wade being legal nationwide didn't seem to inhibit people from having families.

It's not about abortion. Some things to consider is that it is common in liberal leaning cities for teachers to think they have a right to override parents decisions or to assist their children in hiding information from their parents.

We also have several studies from th catoninstitite showing how welfare harms the family structure and actually increases the poverty rate.

That's off the top of my head but in leftist intelligentsia you often get discussions on subtle strategies of destroying the nuclear family. For example since the goal is for the break up of the nuclear family they will often oppose things like homeschool, despite incontrovertible evidence that home schooled children are better educated and perform better on college entrance exams

My understanding is that the left wont doesn't like it when they beat or indoctrinate their children. The left wants to feed them and provide them with health care, and the right hates that.

Then also throw in some conspiracy theories about how keeping families from starving to death harms families somehow.

Bottom line, it's all bullshit. Republicans absolutely have no intention to actually support children or families. to the extent they think about families at all, it is about parents, in particular fathers, having as much power as possible over their family. So when they say they support "families", they don't mean the same thing most other people mean.

You of all people should know that many parents are unfit to be parents. Some parents are abusive and neglectful. Many parents are uneducated and simply aren’t equipped to know what their children need to learn to grow and thrive in society. That’s why public schools were created in the first place. Education is beyond the capacity of most parents. You think the average parent could teach their children everything they learn in school? I doubt most could teach their children how to read.

So republicans think that parents can do whatever they want to their children.

I mean, thats just a different way of saying that children are nothing but parent's property. What a disgusting opinion to have!

Incontrovertible? No. I’m guessing you got these rosey statistics from an organization in favor of the homeschooling concept. You know who performs better on college entrance exams? Kids whose parents have the resources to help them prepare and practice for college entrance exams.

Celebrated by home education advocates, the rise has also led critics of weak regulation to sound alarms. Home-schooled kids don’t have to submit to any form of testing for academic progress in most states, and even states that require assessments often offer loopholes, according to the Coalition for Responsible Home Education, which urges greater oversight.
Many of America’s new home-schooled children have entered a world where no government official will ever check on what, or how well, they are being taught.

“In Kentucky, as elsewhere, public school funding is directly tied to enrollment. Goode said she worries about Pulaski’s home-schooled kids, a few of whom joined her class last year substantially behind their peers in academic skills.“

Where do you see the goal of "the left" as "the breakup of the nuclear family" in any policy or law? WHo on the left says "No home school for anyone", I've never heard that before.

Such as? And do teachers have an obligation to protect children?

We also have several studies from the Cato institute showing how welfare harms the family structure and actually increases the poverty rate.

Here is the AI summary of the study:

Welfare policies like the Aid to Families with Dependent Children (AFDC) have been criticized for creating financial incentives that discouraged marriage and the formation of nuclear families. Under AFDC, single mothers received more significant benefits, but these could be reduced or eliminated if a male partner was present, creating a "marriage penalty." This welfare structure may have caused higher rates of single-parent households by making it financially disadvantageous for low-income couples to marry or cohabitate, contributing to fatherlessness as fathers often became less involved. Many policies on the left aim to promote financial equity between single-parent households and nuclear families. However, these policies cannot fully replace the unique contributions and presence of an actual father in the home.

No-fault divorce laws, which allow couples to divorce without proving fault, have also been criticized for contributing to the breakdown of nuclear families. While these laws provide a way out of unhappy or abusive marriages, these policies have also been linked to higher divorce rates when paired with an incentive for dissolving assets equally, which can lead to more children growing up in single-parent homes. In many cases, these divorces result in custody arrangements where the mother has primary custody, and the father's involvement in the child's life may diminish, further contributing to the issue of fatherlessness.

Custody laws and child support arrangements can also play a role in discouraging father involvement. Fathers are often required to pay child support but not granted equal access to their children, which can strain relationships and reduce their involvement. Together with welfare policies and no-fault divorce, these factors can create an environment where nuclear families are not only discouraged but where single-parent households are inadvertently rewarded, leading to less father involvement and a higher incidence of fatherlessness. Addressing these issues requires a careful reevaluation of policies to support all family structures and encourage father involvement.

For example since the goal is for the break up of the nuclear family they will often oppose things like homeschool, despite incontrovertible evidence that home schooled children are better educated and perform better on college entrance exams

The goal of the left to break up home-schooling (and charter schools) has a lot more to do with preserving the power of the government to confiscate taxes and control education with the support of powerful entrenched government lobbyists. Breaking up the family was just a consequence of that policy. Much like the unintended consequence of pushing equity policies through welfare.

lol. Libertarians, laugh out louder.

The Cato Institute is an American libertarian think tank headquartered in Washington, D.C. It was founded in 1977 by Ed Crane, Murray Rothbard, and Charles Koch,[5] chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Koch Industries.[nb 1] Cato was established to focus on public advocacy, media exposure, and societal influence.[6]

I remember when BLM was outed for actively promoting the dismantling of the nuclear family. That is part of the marxist doctrine.

Later, they were forced to go underground.

Right wing libertarians want to cut social spending and really anything that protects the poor. So they fund think tanks, like that one, to do research that supports their goals. The point is to muddy the water and make it look like preventing poor people from starving is actually better. If you just let children live in poverty, it will be better for them... somehow.

It is true that many on the right want to dismantle equity policies as it has caused irreparable damage to the family structures. Being costly is another problem.

Again, kids who get SAT preparation courses are the ones who do well on college entrance exams.

Do you think it’s wise to cite a homeschool business on the performance and success of homeschooling? Do you think they might be biased?

Like the CATO institute? These are people paid to support conclusions that have been preconceived. Like the tobacco companies paying doctors to say that smoking is good for you.

Think tanks in general are fairly reliable regardless of political affiliation unless they have been caught performing academic fraud.

I watched the doctors testimonies and they claimed cigarettes were not addictive, but I get a feeling they were using a very restrictive definition of addictive and if they were using the common not medical definition of addictive they would have called it addictive in their testimony. Their testimony can still be watched on youtube

And that’s your opinion, not a statement of fact. But you forgot to put “I think”

But Trumps not a liar because he always precedes his lies with “I think”

I watched the doctors testimonies and they claimed cigarettes were not addictive,
and not hazardous to your health and possibly even good for your health. Because they were quacks willing to lie for money.

you have it backwards. They hate it when the government helps people (other than when it gives handouts to the rich, they love that). They then come up with ways to stop the government from doing that. Pretending like feeding poor people damages the family is just one of the ways they push their asshole agenda while trying not to look like the goal is to starve poor people.

I think this is a hasty generalization. The right doesn't want to starve people any more than the left (besides BLM) wants to destroy fathers. But there is a middle ground where both can agree the current equity policies are not working as intended.

Sweden is a smart country.

I guess it takes 160 IQ to learn that using violence against children wont teach them that violence is wrong.

I'm asking which of Kamala Harris's and more broadly "the left"s actual policies are anti child or anti family, as I've heard Vance and other republicans claim. Which specific policy is anti-family or anti-child, and how? If the answer is "we don't know because she won't specify her policies!" then what exactly is the complaint?

No, it doesn't list anything like policies. It lists your complaints and a study from some institute. I'm asking for the specific POLICY from the candidate, that's what the Trump campaign has accused her of. I also asked subsequently where you read that the stated or implied goal of the democratic party is the dismantling of the nuclear family. Here are your words:

. Some things to consider is that it is common in liberal leaning cities for teachers to think they have a right to override parents decisions or to assist their children in hiding information from their parents.

We also have several studies from th catoninstitite showing how welfare harms the family structure and actually increases the poverty rate.
The first sentence is in no way a policy for the democratic party, and as I said, it may be that schools or states or whatever are implementing such a policy (THESE ARE NOT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY) with the aim to protect children from abuse at home, which I'm afraid is absolutely a public school teacher's obligation by law.

How does welfare harm the family structure, in your own words?

I suspect you're one of these performance art posters like ebuc, like you're doing a schtick.
