Alright, reads.
Since everything at this point is based on pretty weak behavioral reads, I'm not going to separate into subsets of town, null or scum (though I have none of the latter currently). I'm just going to break these down to town and null, and put the former in order of who I think is the towniest.
Before I get into it, though, a thought about claims in general in this game. Normally I put some stock in who claims what and when, and while there will be some of that based on the existing character/role claims, I don't think that applies to the game claims that have been given. Scum effectively came pre-packaged with a set of relatively safe fake claims (i.e. all of the town characters and roles from their game), so presumably, scum had limited incentive to fake claim their game. It's not impossible, since they might want to keep their scum role hidden, but since doing so would mean that they risked being CC'd, I'd say it's unlikely.
On the other hand, there is clearly at least some risk to claiming certain characters and roles, since those can always be CC'd. It's worth considering what claims scum might take from their games that make them look more innocuous, particularly if they cannot be confirmed. If they can be confirmed, then as has been mentioned by a couple of people already, then it's worth considering whether that confirms their alignment. Thankfully, we know what roles are in each game, so that narrows it down.
Town:
Casey - We haven't seen Casey as scum yet, so it's hard to say how he'd behave in the role. That being said, the way Casey's using his posts stands out as particularly townie to me. Starting by asking about how majority and plurality votes work in this context, claiming his game early, and the kind of soft pushing for claims comes off as early town activity, as did revealing Barney's role from those emojis.
Moozer - Moozer has been a bit hard to read, mainly because he's still relatively new to this, but can really step it up from time to time. I see a bit of both in his behavior. He waited to claim his game pretty late, but he acknowledged that there was (supposed to be) an order to the claims. I can see a bit of buddying Pie, didn't initially give much reason for sussing Savant or JoeBob initially, but gave more when asked. I don't know if I fully understand his PoE, but I get where he's coming from. It's a more tenuous read, but it's here.
Pie - I have trouble reading Pie in general, but I think his scumhunting in this game comes off as genuine. Maybe it's just that he's able to run the show more this time without pushback, but it's nice not to see pages and pages of back-and-forth only to just nullread it in the end because that's just what happens when Pie butts heads with someone. Maybe I'm just missing signs, though it usually takes me a couple of DPs to see anything odd in Pie's play, so I'm keeping him here for now.
Savant - Behaviorally, I'm pretty null on Savant. Nothing has really stood out to me. He first questioned the push on Barney to get his role, which I understood since it was primarily based on his play last game, but then just kind of folds because he doesn't have a better option for a target. He did say something strange about Barney's role that I don't think jives with how it actually works (I think we can lynch scum tomorrow regardless of what happens to him - maybe I'm misreading something), but I don't know how to read that. That said, he's claimed a "Hard confirmable" role, so at the very least, we've got something to hold him to next DP. That sets him apart.
JoeBob - JoeBob has been more playful in this game than most, which was initially off-putting. I recall pretty similar behavior in our time together as a scum team, though so far at least, this game has lent itself to that a little more due to wait times. The main reason why I'm townreading him is similar to Savant's: his role is confirmable. The difference is that Savant has stated that he will confirm his by next DP. We don't know when JoeBob will. Still, the promise of confirmation even at some point sets him apart as well.
Null:
Earth - I've already mentioned that Earth came off as buddying Pie a bit when he mentioned pushing on Barney, though that's not a first for Earth. I'd say Earth is the closest one in this pool to being townread because of his role claim. It's a JOAT with multiple roles that can at least be semi-confirmed (i.e. he can be tracked/watched for), even if we cannot confirm what he did. At minimum, he's someone whose night actions can be partially verified.
Barney - I put Barney and Austin on a similar level, mainly due to their lack of participation. The difference is that Barney has claimed a role, albeit one that is only confirmable when he dies. Beyond that, his contributions have mostly been in good fun (love the clip), and giving some advice to Casey. Not enough to form a townie read on him behaviorally.
Austin - Austin's mainly down here due to lack of participation. He just hasn't posted much this DP, and none of his posts so far have been substantial. He claimed in the middle of the pack, said he had a townlean on Casey, Moozer and Barney for not listening to Pie's directions, and VTL'd Barney, and nullread Barney and Earth. It's a weak set of assessments that I'd like to see updated in full reads.
