Rambler......Perhaps you  are driving one now

Was American Motors Corp { AMC }.  Father had many cheaper used cars in my childhood.  The Rambler was one of them, that, caught fire overnight ---his cigarette-- or so the firefights told him when they woke him and mom in bed in middle of night.

Doing a NIssan Versa thing currently.  There are many alternative pathways,  that, human society good evolved along.

This is the one we have, and no one knows what future unfolds. Again, GAI may be one hope for humanity in assimilating relevant  data, and showing various  scenarios,  plans/pathway to fix some issues facing humanity or not.     I dunno

Prognosticating the future is like that.  Ephemerlization was Fullers term for doing-more-with-less.

(IFF) "Feudalism, state-socialism and state-capitalism are essentially the same thing." (AND) state-socialism is assumed to be prerequisite to fascism (THEN) "Feudalism and or state-socialism and or state-capitalism" are equally prerequisite to fascism

which part of this conditional statement do you disagree with ?

in other words

what is the difference between "state-capitalism" and "state-socialism" ?

You cant have capitalism without humans, but humans before capitalism had much better environment.

CASUAL RELATIONSHIP between capitalism and environment

Compare to...

You cant have Communism  without humans, but humans before communism  had much better environment.

CASUAL RELATIONSHIP between communism  and environment

Compare to....

You cant have the world of 2024 without 8 billion humans, but humans before  there were 8 billion humans had much better environment.

CAUSAL RELATIONSHIP between  the impact of 8 billion humans on the environment.

We used to measure "human equivalents" and reduced the impact of a city of over 250,000 to the equivalent impact of a village of 2,000.

Wrong question.

What is similar between the two?

They are similar vis -a-  vis their  extreme centralized government with extreme centralized power.

Brutality over benevolence. That's probably inherently nationalistic. I dunno if the economic structure matters as much. Probably not very socialist.

Is this about whether capitalism wrecked the environment, as Bestkorea states in ANOTHER FORUM?

Oh your good prefix!  Please bring me back toward the road ---and its truth---, should I ramble and stray too far from it.

Has fascism alone wrecked the environment ?  Of course not.

No.

A powerful centralized government  is necessary

Socialist states have a powerful centralized government .

Historically in the REAL WORLD, socialism has IN SOME REAL WORLD INSTANCES, progressed into fascism.

So now after 300 + dialogues, is that clear?

One of the most interesting aspects of the research is the countries that Americans actually do consider socialist today. Among Republicans, the three most socialist countries are Venezuela (60%), China (57%) and Russia (57%) while among Democrats, Sweden (43%), Denmark (43%) and Norway (42%) come first.

a "powerful centralized government" describes nearly every government on earth and even nearly every government in history

so, it doesn't seem to be a characteristic that is specifically "socialist"

"“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” – George Santayana,"

Or , to paraphrase, those who ignore the FACTS OF HISTORY are doomed to repeat them.

a "powerful centralized government" describes nearly every government on earth and even nearly every government in history

It appears that you have no idea of what a powerful centralized government is.

Why don't you list all the governments on earth and rank their governments from most powerful to least powerful.

Then statistically find one SD + -, and then list those more than one SD toward the "most"  side.

Then find what only those have in common.

Report back when you are done.

The Rambler is still driving
It one thing to keep a vechicle running, running safely, and another for the driver to just keep driving in circles.

Have you and 3RU7AL come to agreement regarding what  fascism is and what it is result of?

Or each of you riding a bicycle in a figure 8 around each other hoping to resolve fascism's existence, ergo, then how to prevent it?

From a freeDeep AI ChatGPT:

..." Preventing fascism involves a multi-faceted approach that includes political, social, and educational strategies. Here are several key measures that can help guard against the rise of fascist ideologies:
  1. Education and Critical Thinking: Promoting education that emphasizes critical thinking, history, and the importance of democratic values can help individuals recognize and resist authoritarian ideologies. Education should focus on the consequences of fascism and totalitarian regimes.
  2. Strengthening Democratic Institutions: Robust democratic institutions—such as an independent judiciary, free press, and active civil society—are essential. These institutions can help safeguard against authoritarianism by ensuring accountability and transparency in governance.
  3. Promoting Inclusive Policies: Addressing social inequalities and promoting inclusive policies can reduce the appeal of extremist ideologies. Ensuring that all citizens feel valued and included can diminish the sense of alienation that often fuels extremist sentiments.
  4. Encouraging Political Engagement: Encouraging citizens to participate in the political process—through voting, activism, and community organizing—can help ensure that a diverse range of voices is heard. Political engagement fosters a sense of ownership over democratic processes.
  5. Fostering Dialogue and Understanding: Promoting dialogue between different groups and fostering understanding can reduce polarization. Efforts to build bridges between communities can help mitigate the "us vs. them" mentality that fascism often exploits.
  6. Challenging Hate Speech and Extremism: Actively combating hate speech and extremist ideologies, both online and offline, is crucial. This can be done through legislation, as well as through grassroots initiatives, to promote tolerance and understanding.
  7. Supporting Human Rights: Upholding human rights standards and promoting a culture of respect for diversity can act as a buffer against fascism. Advocacy for minority rights and protections fosters an environment where authoritarian ideologies are less likely to take root.
  8. Monitoring and Responding to Threats: Vigilance against the signs of rising extremism is essential. Governments and communities should monitor hate groups and extremist movements, and be prepared to take action to counter them.
  9. Civic Education: Programs that educate citizens about their rights and responsibilities in a democracy can empower individuals to stand up against attempts to undermine democratic norms and values.
  10. International Cooperation: Fascism often transcends national borders. International cooperation and solidarity among nations committed to democracy can help counter the global rise of authoritarianism.
By promoting these strategies, societies can create resilient systems that not only guard against fascism but also foster a climate of democracy, inclusion, and respect for human rights." ....

Number 1 above is often my signature reply to others......a logical, common sense critical thinking that validates or invalidates anything ive presented....

CASUAL RELATIONSHIP between capitalism and environment
If you think that capitalism keeps environment clean, or that we have better environment now than in year 1500, or that if we had small or no government that it would be better for environment, or that increase in production output per person didnt increase trash output, then there is nothing to talk about here.

So here is a simple dichotomy for you:

1. Either capitalism increased production output compared to other systems,

Or

2. Or it didnt increase production output

So which one of these is it?

Or is it the: "Capitalism never even existed" kind of thing?

Already explained and proved.

The magnitude of the human population is the cause of environmental damage.
