If you take a look at any religious book...

Each religious book gives you a list of things to hate.

Now, why would you hate something just because some book tells you to?

"Under the doctrine of state atheism in the Soviet Union, there was a "government-sponsored program of forced conversion to atheism" conducted by Communists.[15][16][17] The Communist Party destroyed churchesmosques and temples, ridiculed, harassed, incarcerated and executed religious leaders, flooded the schools and media with anti-religious teachings, and introduced a belief system called "scientific atheism", with its own rituals, promises and proselytizers.[18][19] Many priests were killed and imprisoned, and thousands of churches were closed. In 1925, the government founded the League of Militant Atheists to intensify the persecution.[20] The League of Militant Atheists was a "nominally independent organization established by the Communist Party to promote atheism".[21]"

Clearly, we blame that on Christianity for raising those atheists badly.

Depends on how you define atheists.

People who just happen to not believe in God and don't care about religion? Sure, they won't be mean-spirited tribalists when it comes to religious debates. That won't stop them from being mean-spirited tribalists about other things since that's a human tendency, but I will concede this much.

People who go on and on about how there's no God and the religious are dumb bigots? Yeah no. They are quite hateful, and they've acquired quite the reputation in the US. In early 2006, less than 5 years after 9/11, and just 3 years after Lawrence v. Texas, there was a poll suggesting Americans distrusted atheists more than they did Muslims and gay people.

A lot of time has passed since then, right? Well, yes and no. As late as early 2016, 51% of Americans said they'd be less likely to vote for a presidential candidate who was an atheist. This is compared to, 42% for a Muslim candidate, 37% for a candidate who had an extramarital affair, 26% for an gay or lesbian candidate, and 20% for an Evangelical candidate

What a load of nonsense given the definition of atheism on this site.  I attempted to show that Atheism has a worldview and that its only so-called doctrine naturally led to a whole range of ideas.  I was soundly refuted by many on this site.  Of course, "refuted" doesn't mean I was wrong or proven wrong, but in this case, it meant that most people disagreed with me - and said Atheism is just one doctrine, and nothing more

To suggest therefore that it teaches peace is nonsense. And for any atheist to agree with you - it would be nothing less than hypocritical.

Unless Atheism is a Worldview, it can't teach anything. It has one distinction only. People who don't believe in God.

People who don't accept that GODS are anything more than naive fantasy creation hypotheses.

Sure it can. You learn a lot when you stop believing in God.

@Stephen

.
Stephen,

As expected all the time within this forum, I have to "school the #1 Bible fool Miss Tradesecret AGAIN!"

MISS TRADESECRET'S QUOTE OF DISDAIN TOWARDS ATHEISM, WHEREAS SHE OPENS THE DOOR IN THE SAME VEIN TOWARDS CHRISTIANITY: "To suggest therefore that it (Atheism) teaches peace is nonsense. And for any atheist to agree with you - it would be nothing less than hypocritical. "

In using her direct terminology, then Miss Tradesecret would be outright and blatantly HYPOCRITICAL if she said Christianity teaches peace, as shown that it doesn't in the inspired words by Jesus the Christ herewith below:

"If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery. And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12)

"Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." (Numbers 31:17-18)
( Zeus only knows why Moses wants his Christian warriors to keep VIRGIN young girls alive for themselves, hmmmmmm ..... pedophilia?)

Stephen, I am giving Miss Tradesecret a break, so to speak, because the two biblical narratives shown above are only a FEW OF MANY disturbing passages in the name of Jesus, that absolutely DO NOT show Christianity as a peaceful religion!

NEXT PSEUDO-CHRISTIAN EQUAL TO MISS TRADESECRET IN BEING TOTALLY BIBLE STUPID, AND THEREFORE LEAVING THE DOOR OPEN TO TRASH CHRISTIANITY, WILL BE ...?

Well it is simply common practice now for the Reverend Tradesecret to open the gate wide with this not very well thought out comment, but what's new?

Tradesecret wrote: "To suggest therefore that it (Atheism) teaches peace is nonsense. And for any atheist to agree with you - it would be nothing less than hypocritical. "

Dividing the family unit is what Jesus most certainly did in his teaching yet s/he has the brass bollocks to speak about " atheist hypocrisy"😂

“If any man come to Me and hate not his father and mother, and wife and children, and brethren and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.
Luke 14:26

Is the Reverend trying to tell us that dividing the family unit is a perfect exercise in  teaching about "peace", Brother D?
