Description

I don't know who here thinks the Earth is flat, but it definitely isn't. Change my mind.

Round 1
Pro
#1
The logic that flat-earthers use is usually obscure and nonsensical enough for me to have to here it first. So typically, when talking about the Earth’s shape, I prefer to listen to the other side first, and then explain away their reasons for thinking the Earth is flat. Please give me all of your reasons, and then we can talk.

Arguing that the Earth is flat speaks volumes about the kind of person you are. While thousands of photos from space, countless videos, and direct confirmation from astronauts who’ve seen the Earth’s curvature all prove otherwise, I respect the art of debate. So, let’s engage.

Here’s my argument: if the Earth were truly flat, there wouldn’t be time zones. The Sun’s rays would illuminate the entire surface simultaneously, rather than moving gradually due to the Earth’s rotation. Additionally, if the Earth were flat, wouldn’t it have edges or endpoints? Yet, we’ve never encountered such boundaries. The spherical shape of the Earth explains both time zones and the continuous surface without “falling off” points.

Uhhhh. I’m the one saying that the Earth is round. The argument that I am pro for is “The Earth Is Round, Not Flat.” So you don’t even know what you’re debating about.

You never chose a side, so i did. And wasn’t stated anywhere that you were arguing against. So i win
Round 3
Pro

Um, no, you actually don’t win. The title of the debate is literally “The Earth Is Round, Not Flat,” and I’m the Pro side. Therefore, I am arguing that the Earth is round, not flat. Next time, please read more carefully before accepting a debate.

okay can you just accept it as a tie

Round 4
Pro
#7
I’ll let the voters decide if it was a tie. You’re the one who entered the debate without even knowing what you are debating about, so I don’t think we should just make it a tie.

You never elaborated on what side you were debating on, you just stated your topic . And am sure i would’ve won in any side i was on.

Round 5
Pro
#9
I did say what I was debating for! The title literally says "The Earth Is Round, Not Flat," and I am the Pro side. The word "pro" means "for," meaning I am for the idea that the Earth is round, not flat. I also said in my first argument, "I prefer to listen to the other side first, and then explain away their reasons for thinking the Earth is flat." Is explain away their reasons for thinking the Earth is flat not clear enough for you? You said that you're sure you would've won in any side you were on. Well, that arrogant statement means nothing, because who's the one who didn't pay attention to the debate they accepted? You. So let the voters decide, don't start trying to call it a tie or say that you would have won.
