According to Biblical theology there were two covenants that God made with mankind. The first covenant was one in which humans were bound to follow the law of Moses, which consists of 620+ commandments which one would have to follow completely in order to avoid sinning. The second covenant was made when the ONLY human who ever successfully kept the law in full was crucified in order to pay the price for all of mankind's sins on their behalf. Since no human ever other than Jesus kept the law, all would go to hell if it wasn't for God creating this loophole where the only thing you are required to do is believe in the gospel and do "good works". As a Christian, you are NOT required to avoid sinning to be saved because this would mean keeping the law which is not even humanly possible. The average person sins over 1000 times a day because even having a lustful or angry thought is considered sinning. This is why Jesus talks about poking out your own eyeballs and cutting off your hands, because if you try to be saved through the law these are the lengths you would have to go to and you still would fail.

4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

James 2:10
King James Version
10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

Galatians 2:19-21
King James Version
19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

This is not fair. I challenge this point.

How does a baby sin over 1000 times a day?

Being human is literally a sin according to the law. Getting angry at someone is enough to break the law. If a baby cries because it didn't get to suck on it's mom's tits fast enough then boom it just sinned.
