Description
I believe that Donald Trump is America's 2nd best president. This debate doesn't have to be extremely serious. May the best man win.
Round 1
I will start this off with a short response. Donald Trump is an amazing president to our society. Not only were gas prices and record lows, but so was unemployment and about a million other things. Donald Trump was the FIRST EVER president to walk into North Korea, and he did it UNGAURDED. Trump enacted various tax cuts and greatly improved the lived of the middle class. Trump also made peace with various different middle eastern countries; some were said not to be able to make peace with. He also had to deal with the bias media this whole time. Trump didn’t walk into NK without security.
Low Gas prices are bad, they elevate authoritarian state control. Ideology controls foreign policy. Russia is also authoritarian. Russia specifically sees the US as a threat to expansion, and puts high value on US relations as evidenced by recent talks. A Russian War with the Baltics is Putin’s Dream.
The US is willing to negotiate with Russia, but also values its EU/NATO allies. Ideologies control foreign policy, so if the US becomes authoritarian its ideology will shift closer to Russia’s, and one way that policy will be affected is that the US will not confront Russian expansionism, and this allows Russia to invade the Baltic states. Many human rights issues exist within Russia, even widespread torture, and if the US stops preventing Russian expansionism these human rights issues will be spread to the Baltics, and their people. This is what the Trump era energy policy risked. Millard Fillmore did nothing, and is therefore better than Trump.
Round 2
So he only had 1 security guard? That is nothing. And plus, you can see that the security guard is well behind him, and not in direct reach. There was nothing authorial in the Trump administration. And I don't care what low gas prices are linked to, low gas prices are low gas prices. The USA will only become authoritarian under the Biden administration, like it is now. Putin could never convince Trump to make America authoritarian. Trump was feared by all enemy nations, including the ISIS, which he demolished, and was only brought back during the Biden administration. Other countries will stop Russia from expanding, it doesn't have to be only America's job.
I reaffirm that Ideology controls foreign policy, and that Russia is authoritarian as these points went unrefuted.
1 gaurd is still security.
Gas prices themselves elevate authoritarianism. Low gas prices are low gas prices as Con said, but this means nothing, and the Russia link chain would have played out if Trump won, and Biden did not save the Baltics from human rights violations (like torture), through the energy "crisis". Con also says that Putin can't convince Trump to become authoritarian, but don't consider this because Trump's energy policy clearly creates authoritarianism — Putin doesn't need to.
Covid caused ISIS resurgence not Biden, and Trump is to blame for the poor handling of Covid. Other countries/world leaders laughed at Trump, and were not afraid of him.
Other countries can’t stop expansion. Putin see’s NATO, and specifically the US as a threat to its expansion. Without US backing, NATO is no longer a threat to Russia.
Con dropped the point on Fillmore.
Round 3
Forfeited
Flow everything through as Pro dropped.
To expand upon my authoritiarianism DA, this is a quote from my source talking about how the securitization of resources like energy lead to authoritarianim.
"securitization can often depoliticize issues, removing them from public debate and assigning them to an authoritarian and/or technocratic domain managed by security experts, military and intelligence professionals, and government authorities. Understood as matters of exceptional urgency and consequentiality, securitized issues can thus become the foci of extreme measures not subject to open debate or external inter- vention. Thus, the potential benefits of securitizing environmental issues, such as amplifying attention and (literally) securing resources and expertise, may be offset by new constraints on transparency and democratic deliberation legitimated through the act of securitization"
It is very important to also consider the point on Filmore. He did nothing, so he is better.
Round 4
Forfeited
At this point consider voting Con down on conduct, and flow everthing through as well.
Round 5
Forfeited
Vote con on ff

In debating any two figures and neither of them are named Biden, talking about Biden gets you no points.
Round one is probably going to be spent talking about how Trump is so great. If I was con, I would just capitalize on that, by explaining how Trump was better than Reagan, thus forcing pro to attack Trump and contradict himself.
Well, FDR, Jefferson, Lincoln and Washington probably should be better than Trump or Raegan. They made America better, while those two kept America the way it is, if not making it worse.
