Hi, I am a Muslim and I have the following question:
We believe that Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. What I think is that, replacing one verse with another is humanlike. And, it is not irrational for Non-Muslims to think that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) fabricated verses. Here is a verse from the Quran-
When We replace a verse with another—and Allah knows best what He reveals—they say, “You Muḥammad˺ are just a fabricator.” In fact, most of them do not know. [Quran 16:101]
Even if I agree that Allah (SWT) replace a verse by another, the previous one should have to be a good, logical one. Here is what confuses me-
Amra reported that she heard Aisha discussing fosterage which (makes marriage) unlawful; and she (Aisha) said: There was revealed in the Holy Qur'an ten clear sucklings, and then five clear (sucklings). [Sahih Muslim 1452b]
Umm Fadl reported that Allah's Apostle said: Being suckled once or twice, or one suckling or two, do not make marriage unlawful. [Sahih Muslim 1451c]
As Sahih Muslim is considered to be 100% authentic, there is no way this hadith is weak. Now, if this hadith is authentic, that means these verses were revealed. My question is, even though the Qur'an is eternal, why Allah (SWT) aborgated thsese verses? Does this verse make any sense? Can All-Wise god reveal such verses?
Now, some people say that this hadith is weak. And, if this hadith is weak, there is no way we can believe the other hadith from Sahih Muslim!
This is a question that is confusing me. I hope you will give me a good logical answer.
