What are the top 3 things you dislike and 1 thing you like about Drumpf?

Disclaimer: These are just my intuitions.

1. Lack of respect for democracy/the truth
2. Not believing in climate change/harming environmental reform
3. Covid-19 response

Honorable Mention: Strengthening ICE.

1. I guess cutting immigration might be ok/good.

On balance, has capitalism been a successful economic doctrine?

I'm not too informed on that, but here are my intuitions.

Capitalism seems incredible relative to feudalism, so in that sense it's probably a huge step forward for humanity.

However, I don't like the rat-race-ish, undemocratic, dog-eat-dog world it seems to create, where everyone strives for this false god of money, and those who fail in the system get fucked and those who succeed aren't even guaranteed happiness as consolation. I feel like, in an ideal world, everyone could democratically participate in their workplace and not have to worry about economics so much. Another problem seems to be that people inherit their parent's wealth, creating what seems to be cycles of poverty/success that are ironically opposed to the supposed meritocracy that Capitalism creates. Also, most scientists seem to say that we're killing the planet and a lot of people attribute that failure to capitalism, though I'm not sure if that claim has credence. Yet another thing: class is divisive, and capitalism makes wealth inequality huge. Overall, capitalism doesn't seem all that free, equal, or democratic, and I feel like those are the values that are otherwise most important in our liberal, modern societies.

My impression is that if you're a capitalist, you're a capitalist for pragmatic reasons. Maybe you're worried that socialism will lead to worse failiures/tyranny/etc. Maybe capitalism, in your opinion, is the only way to create a functioning society. I respect those positions and of course acknowledge that there are plenty of capitalist economists out there who know 10x about economics as me. But I have not been convinced of the idea that capitalism is an ideal world and maybe we should be hopeful that something eventually comes along to take it's place. Take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Why are you a lib, instead of a nationalist paleo-conservative populist like me? ;(

- I'm not knowledgeable on trade so being a protectionist is outside of my realm of expertise

- I think that immigration is generally economically beneficial and don't see why it should be restricted so heavily

- I'm worried about heavy nationalism creating chauvinism and xenophobia towards ethnic/religious minorities

- I'm fine with paleoconservatism if it means conservatism minus imperialism, however, I see it used by anti-multiculturalists and the alt-right a lot

- I'm worried about the massive disparities/monopolies/unfair treatment that would result from unrestricted capitalism. I clearly haven't read up on my Milton Friedman :P

- I don't think the government should promote Christianity/oppose gays/oppose trans rights

- I don't believe that politics is simple/ that it should be dumbed down so that the average person can understand it. I believe that politics is complex, intellectuals know the most and if people want to be informed they have to catch up to them. I am anti-anti-intellectual

Wanna seize the means of production?

No, Carl Marks and his Democratic agenda must be stopped!!!!!

Do you have a master?

I only answer to the Shoguncat.

What is your stance on water?

Anti-water. Since humans are 70% water I have a pretty negative view of humans as well. Milk is preferable.

How many lives do you have?

Nine give or take.

What career are you aspiring for?

I'd like to rap one day. I also like Political Science.

How'd you become jewish?

Family is Jewish. I went to a synagogue.

So now you are an unarmored gorilla? Upgrade?

LOL doesn't fit with the name too well I know. Yeah I just have an infatuation with silverback gorillas, so I found a cool drawing and took like 6 tries cropping it and resizing. I'll find some more armoredcats at some point, already saw some cool ones. Gonna stick with this one for now.

Sorry for not getting back to you on the Invisible Hand thing. Really busy and I'm sure your economic knowledge outweighs mine (not exactly my area of expertise).

Quick question: You're well-acquainted with Milton Friedman, aren't you?

(also when I'm less swamped and get a few other debates done we should do a debate on whether on balance Israel is morally just or something. Or maybe we'll take 2 solutions to the conflict or something and argue for one or the other. I know a bit about it as an Israeli Jew. However, I agree with you that the US should significantly cut aid from Israel. Not good for us at all. )

Ask me questions so I ask you more? Medal

What?
