Have you seen the movie Interstellar? When it comes to blackholes, the physics and computer simulated Imagery is based on real science. Long story short, gravitational fields warp spacetime.

You don’t need to be funded by a corporation to be a corporatist. You can just have cronies that benefit from it, if you want probable cause. I won’t be surprised if he gets payed millions going on speaking tours after he’s done in office.
