I predicted Trump would win in 2016, and I said why it was going to happen. No one acknowledged. This election is closer though, because Covid was not handled correctly.
It sucks, but you have to put people in groups, which I hate to do.
It's basically what groups like Trump and what groups don't that will decide the election.
Military- Mostly like Trump, which includes their families
Police- Mostly like Trump but are getting smaller, because they are all retiring due to lawlessness that is being condoned by failed Governors, who are losing the vote of normal people that are not outspoken. Families of police are probably growing in numbers that will be voting as well.
Older People- mostly like Trump and hate the protesting/rioting from kids that have no idea what they are doing.
Anyone who stopped watching the MSM because of the falsehoods being reported. (This is a lot of people), I bet they vote for Trump just to prove something.
People who listen to talk radio love Trump, and these are the people that work for a living with no time to protest.
People on Twitter and other social media platforms that believe everything they read-hate Trump, but for some reason the polls think these are the only people that exist.
College kids and professors-don't like Trump, These are the most outspoken, and really the only thing you hear, and really not that many of them.
Large cities- hate trump, but already proven in 2016 that they don't really matter because it is a republic.
People who are afraid of being portrayed as racist if they say anything positive about Trump--- A shit ton of people that are not being polled.
Government employees- Hate Trump, but there are not that many of them.
Black's is a toss up.... I bet there is a silent majority of these as well that like him.
Hispanics is a toss up... I'd say 50/50
Indian, which is now a large percentage of the population, and growing exponentially, love Trump
Chinese, if I am not mistaken-love Trump.
Small business owners love Trump
People on the fence are probably leaning more towards Biden.
Large business owners probably donate to the Dems but really don't want them to win, like Tesla. They just want to make it look like they are for Social Justice
Any feedback on additional groups for, or against to help the percentage are welcomed. Then we can all weigh them together and come to a conclusion.
Below is a little snippet of why Republicans don't want mail in voting.
Why we don't want mail in voting, when people say there is no evidence that it will be tampered with, or has ever been tampered with in the past. Because people who say they love America will break the law to get Trump out of office, it's been happening for 4 years, especially people in Government, purposely omitting information and deleting emails to obtain warrants under false pretenses. All it takes is a couple of mailboxes stolen in majority trump voting districts to skew the votes, and I know many people that would gladly do this because they think they are breaking the law for the greater good, I say it is anarchy/insanity, Republicans would never do that because we understand the need for fair competition. Mailboxes in Maryland were stolen and the whole mail in ballot procedure was a disaster. I heard it happened in Texas as well.
I have not posted in a while.... Felt the need to do so. Feedback would be great because I am sure I am missing quite a few groups.

Name one person that was denied a hospital bed because they did not have health insurance, people are not dying everywhere. The truth is, people don't pay their hospital and doctor bills a lot of the time, and no one really goes after them for it, that is one reason it is too expensive, because they have to make up for that.
I do agree that Insurance companies are Pieces of Shite, and so are the pharmaceutical companies. They need to be more regulated, talk about price gouging, but they are the big dogs. They need to be banned from any political avenue, no lobbying, and no grants from the government just to use the money on R and D, then use that number to charge an astronomical amount as if it was part of their costs.

H1-N1 started in California, but then was traced back to Mexico after the first cases were found in the US. They didn't call it the Californian flu, or the Mexacan flu. They called it the swine flu.
Maybe they should call this one the bat disease.

HB, why would you say we don't have a working immigration system? Millions of immigrants come here every single year, in fact, so many come that they create their own towns that have the culture from where they came, which is not what I would recommend, but they are free to do what they want, which is the point of being an american citizen.
The only way to stop illegal immigration, which, you say is what you want as well, is to stop the benefits and handouts that they receive when they do cross illegally, or stay illegally. If we stopped doing that, there would be no incentive to come in the first place. This is where AOC needs to chill.
In addition, the only people crossing illegally are the people willing to risk their lives to do it. So, if you are so bad off that you are willing to risk your life to get here, chances are you are not going to be a good contributor to society. Or, if you are, then chances are you are going to be sending most of the money you made back home to your family.....
You don't see Central American, South American or Mexican millionaires trying to cross the southern border illegally. What you do see is the equivalent of homeless people in the US trying to get into Canada. If all the homeless people in the nation got together and started a caravan to Canada (with kids they decided to have without being able to support them), do you think they would ease the restrictions up there of becoming a citizen? Heck no, I can't even visit Canada because I have a DUI in my past. We also need to put pressure on their governments to make it so people don't want to leave their own countries so badly. If they come and stay here, that makes their own Government happy to have them off their plate.

Sorry, I am off chronologically on my posts.
Can you tell me what this means?
"Eighty-seven percent of deaths occurred in those under 65 years of age with children"? does that mean including children? Maybe it has been too long of a day for me, because that sentence looks strange.
Why do you say the flu is more of an economic problem, when this one will, or is about to cause a recession? Are you talking about over the course of years?

So, do you think the Senate got this together using Trumps guidelines, and they were all cool with that? Trump does own Hotels, so they are going to get something regardless. Or... do you think we are both being mislead over what is actually in the bill and how it is being conveyed? I think the latter is the case. Did you read the bill? I have not read the bill?
Did we get this information from leaks? Yes. If there isn't provisions in there that prevent him from being able to do that, there should be. Which I would totally agree with you on..... but I'm just saying that I don't think he would actually do that.
I don't know that he won't use this to help his own businesses, but my guess is he did not become president to further enrich himself. Unless he is secretly playing the stock market, which he totally could manipulate easily, but i think someone would have caught on to that by now.
I like how you started your post.... Wow,just... wow! that cracked me up.

I believe the flu is more deadly than Covid-19. And DredPriate actually pointed it out to me why, and we didn't even think about it, but we both agree. 60,000 deaths in the US in 2017-2018 from the flu. I don't think Covid is going to amount to that.
And think about all the people that got vaccines for it, and have to get a new one every year because it mutates, imagine how many people would have died if there was no vaccine. There is no way that this disease would ever extinct us like Rational Madman is saying, not with how many we know actually do recover, he is one of those people that is causing panic and actually compromising otherwise healthy people's immune system. The only people being tested right now are very sick people, so we will never know the amount of how many were actually infected. We do know how many died though, so it will be easier to calculate next year when all of this is done, but will never, ever be spot on. Once they get a treatment and a vaccine, we will never hear about it again..... but the flu will still be around, killing millions of people.

Come on Whiteflame! The Democrats are trying to get money to protect the Kennedy Center, and what made them even think about that, makes me wonder what other goodies were introduced that we haven't heard about. WTF does the Kennedy Center have to do with this virus, we want to make sure that rich people can still see their operas? You know that has got to be on the top of the list.... You know most of that 500 Billion will go to good deeds, but because this President was impeached, they think he is just going to cheat everyone out of money when he didn't even take a salary for this job. The 500 billion will be used to build the economy just like he did when he became President. They all said Trickle down ecomomics will bankrupt everyone, we will be in a recession before you know it, there is no way for him to hit the GDP levels that he promissed, he is dreaming Obama said. Sorry, but he didn't just wish upon a star for the economy to hit record levels during his presidency, it happened because of what he did, regulations he put in place, as well as de-regulations, the tax cuts he made, the negotiations that he has come out on top of. Please don't say it is the after affects of Obama.
You don't hear anyone saying that trickle down economics don't work now, do you? No.
And I seriously doubt that Trump would be dumb enough to help his own companies, unless they really need it, he does have quite a few businesses, but with three years under his belt now, I think we can safely say, he is a politician, which I hate.

I'm... a bit confused by the statement that "it was only affecting people under 65" - it says most of the deaths occurred in people under 65, but not that it only affected people under 65 or that it excluded those "above that age". The numbers include people above 65. I'm not sure what should have been done with H1N1. It's entirely possible that those numbers could have been reduced substantially, in which case it may have required more attention. That being said, I don't think measures being taken now for COVID-19 would have been as necessary for H1N1, given the differences in their mortality rates.
What I meant was, no one above 65 died, so if we are talking about the mortality rate, that whole group is pretty much taken out of the equation.
I guess you could say the same is true for Coronavirus where no one under 65 is dying. There are always outliers, I guess.
But be honest, which one is worse? A virus that kills people under 65 or the one that kills people above 65 at the same rate? Not saying this one is the same rate, but where do you think the balance should be? Or are people all the same, no matter the age?

I think that he thought, by the numbers that China was actually giving us, that it was just like the flu. I thought that too, I would have dismissed it as well. I think his people were saying the same thing, but the media was putting words into the people they were interviewing mouths.
I don't have the Washington Post, but I was looking for articles about the flu, and saw a title that was pretty recent from them. It said something to the effect of what TheDredPriateRoberts said about the flu being worse, and we are all overacting.
I could not read the full article because I have used up my 10 free ones (or whatever they give for free). Can you find it?
I looked up "how many people died from the flu in 2017 in the US?" and it popped up in the search.
I want to see if they are now going against what Trump is saying. It just seems that no matter what, he is the target, and the media needs to stop with their stupid questions. They questioned Trump about a doctor that was assigned in China that was then reassigned right before the outbreak, like if he did not do that, this wouldn't have happened. How do you answer questions about one reassigned doctor when you are the freakin POTUS. He doesn't just choose doctors to move around. They are trying to scare people and trying to get him to blow his lid. You see them doing that don't you?
Don't you think it is a bit odd that you can't find anything certain things at the grocery store, when Grocery Stores do not really plan on closing? It's because of the media. It's also because of the Surgeon General though, that guy is a moron. He might be a doctor, but he should not speak on camera, much less get interviewed by anyone. I think that is why they sidelined Dr. Fauci a well.

@TheDredPriateRoberts
I would have to agree with that. Didn't even think about that, just in 2017, there were an estimated 61,000 deaths just in the US from the flu. That was a really bad year.
But there are other years that are really bad as well, and everyone just throws up their arms and says, well that is the flu season, nothing we can do about it.
Now I know you can't trust China, but they are only reporting that 81,000 people contracted the virus.... Out of 1.5 billion? It seems like they are really underestimating their numbers, or they knew how to handle it.

@whiteflame
Yeah and Trump is trying to calm the people a bit, that is what he started off trying to do, but he pretty much got chastised for doing it, even though he had done pretty much everything that Obama did back then.
That amount of people that contracted it is also a big range because they didn't have the test kits available then either, and it didn't seem to be a big deal. Still, even if the death toll is .02 percent, it was only affecting people under 65, so it excludes everyone above that age, which is completely different than the seasonal flu. Coronavirus is exactly like the seasonal flu on who is the most vulnerable, but from these graphs.
My point is, there either should have been a lot more attention paid to H1N1.. and/or there is too much attention being paid to Coronavirus.
Based on the verbiage from the CDC report, it sounds like they were estimating the amount of deaths as well, which should really be a finite number. But that may have been in the middle of the pandemic.
Thanks for looking into it. Yeah, the graphs don't make much sense, or at least I can't make sense of them. But it looks like the were quite a few deaths in a matter of weeks, but nothing compared to this. Although it did start in the states.
I do appreciate you finding this, I'll try and look deeper into it a little later.

Did you find any information on the H1N1? The death timeline is only a good comparison up until probably next week. I give it a two week period from the time the states started shutting everything down and requiring quarantine, to the deaths that may occur. This will slow the spread of the virus as well as the death count and we will lose the control we had. But if the death count rises to more than what H1N1 is, then it will prove to be a more deadly and more contagious.
I'm still looking for specifically a death timeline from April 2009 to anytime in 2010. Preferably month by month, or week by week if possible, day by day is probably asking too much. I am unable to find that. If I can, maybe I can help some people calm their nerves. My roommate vomited this morning she is so worried about getting this virus. That is just too much.
Then I will be able to put together a montage of the media putting words in people's mouths, and making everyone scared for their lives.
Also in print, showing all worst case scenarios that they can find, they don't even care of it is someone that has credentials... They print it,or say it on the news channel to get people riled up. Built up anxiety also reduces your immune system capabilities. Good job media, regardless of how deadly this disease is, be soothing and comforting. Hannity actually did a good job of that the other day. I don't watch Fox, but someone sent me a blurb from him.

Here is the sad truth....
The FBI had an empty board on the wall, Trump announces his run for presidency. All of the sudden, at the top of that board was a picture of Trump in a big red circle, treated just like any mobster that they know is in charge of illegal dealings, gangs, and organized crime.
Below that is different pictures of people in his campaign in pecking order as well as his lawyers, his friends, his proposed nominees, as well as any past correspondence these people may have had with Russia, however tiniest the relationship doesn't matter. They dug, and dug, and dug, and dug, until what they thought was something concrete, but it wasn't... then they had to lie in order to try and get more evidence, falsifying reports, doctoring dates, omitting verified pertinent information, skipping the normal process, and all the while crossing out people that they did get by confusing them and interrogating them for hours upon hours, with no evidence of anything.
Exactly what they do on TV to mobsters that they know are making the calls and having others perform the dirty work, although, there was no dirty work, just some people who did not want Trump to be president.
Now, hopefully, it will come back and bite them all in the ass. This was a disgrace, I don't care of you like Trump or hate him, you should understand that this, from the beginning, there was a target placed on his back. And some people hate him so much, they are fine with that, and are willing to do what it takes to get him out of office, even do what they were hired to put people away for doing.

That doesn't mean I have to agree with them. I think to bring the whole country to a screeching halt, there has to be thresholds, and so far, to me... Those thresholds have not been met. I understand the need to save lives..... it may sound crass, and how Ebuc puts it, immoral, but there is a line that has to be drawn, and the panic it spreads can be more dangerous than the pandemic itself.
Even Dr. Fauci has changed his feelings, he put in a research paper that we don't really know what the mortality rate is, and it is hard to calculate, but based on the information it is probably .1 to .2 %... Then when he is on the news, he says it is 10 times that, but still says you can't really calculate it. If you can't calculate it, then don't..... Quit filling people's minds with possibilities that could be completely false, instead, he says he knows it is at least 10 times worse than the flu. If we have 12,000 deaths from the flu each year in the US, then we should expect 120,000 deaths from this virus. I just don't think that is going to happen.
I understand your problem with the Celebrities as a sample, but it is the closest thing that I have to go off of. I doubt their healthcare is a huge difference better from the general population... now when it comes to testing for the virus, yes, and when it comes to special procedures, and procuring the best doctors for that procedure, yes, but when checking themselves into a hospital, or seeing their regular doctor, probably not that different.

@whiteflame
i would really appreciate it if you could find that, I have been everywhere looking for that information to compare.... that would really be game changing information, at least for me.
I'm using celebrities, the rich, and professional athletes as a pretty legit sample size on this as well.
If they were not Celebrities, they would not have been tested at all, and I don't think that any of them have been hospitalized or have severe symptoms and there are quite a few people. I have been researching this as well, but don't have much information or updates on their well being, and I'm not about to check out each ones twitter account. I'm also not sure of the outreach in how the CDC tested people in the beginning regarding contact, if they still only tested people with symptoms or if they actually tested people because they were in contact with someone that had the virus, and if they added these people to the stats, but we are way beyond that point now, only the rich are not beyond that point. Testing kits are now going out to keep confirming where the epicenter is, which we all know is now NY, and how quickly it is spreading outward.
The other thing is no one in the medical industry has said that it has mutated yet, with the amount of people being infected, I would think that there would already be several mutations out there, or if it even has the potential to mutate making it harder to keep up with... but a mutation could also make it less lethal. For instance, why did so many die at that one nursing home in Washington State? I can believe that they all had probably the same underlying health issues, and were elderly, but could it be that the earlier strain is more deadly than what people are contracting now?
These are all questions that seem to be what I would ask if I were a journalist. Not all the worse case scenario questions because all of that is self explanatory, and just being asked to scare people. But hey, maybe the government knows more than they are letting out, and the goal is to scare people because it is actually a lot worse than is being reported, that is always a possibility as well.
We will see.

@whiteflame
I predict the mortality rate, when all said and done, judging by what has happened, how many tests have been available, who has been tested, who has caught it and who has recovered, what countries have been hit the worst and why (this would be healthcare, culture, and hygiene), that it ends up being in the .3 to .5 range, which is 3 to 5 times the rate of the flu. Once this is certain, we will know that we overreacted, but hey, at least we saved a couple of lives... right? Unfortunately California has shut the whole state down. People are out buying an unbelievable amount of guns to prepare for the worst, that is never what we want. Anytime that happens, it means the Government or the media did not do a good job of comforting the people. That is part of the job.
Trump by the way declared a Public Health Emergency on January 31st. Does your article mention that? It doesn't matter what the article says, it is the title, which is all people care about, and you know this. Stop trying to defend misleading fake news. You defended it and then posted an example of that exact thing in your post.
We'll wait and see what happens. I'm not in Trumps shoes, but for him to do a 180 like that in one day, I think someone suggested a better way that he go about this. There are other things to weigh in this situation, yes it sucks to have people die, but 2.3 billion people die in the world every year. Right now we are at 300, and it has been a couple of months since it hit.
Can you find me a timeline of deaths for the H1N1? I can't find anything like that. Like how many died in April, May, June, July? All I can find is the total deaths for the first year.
Created:

@whiteflame
It will have some lasting effects on the economy.... Which will kill the old people anyway. The death toll is at 2 to 4% because they are only testing people that are sick or very sick, they are not getting to the general population, you can't trust the Chinese stats, and Italy has mostly old people, and it is universal Healthcare in most of the countries that have the highest death toll. They are even testing people after they are already dead. The big difference is H1N1 started here as opposed to China, so it was much easier to get a better idea on the death toll. I do remember Obama being in front of the country talking about the virus, and he was saying that we needed to be vigilant, but they have it under control. Obama was a tremendous speaker, and I know he was very good at keeping people calm, that is a gift that he has, which Trump is lacking. Obama made it a National Emergency in October, 6 months later (which is what Trump was talking about, Politico spreading their fake news) if you really want to get into different types of announcements. And yes he called it a public health emergency, which does have some clout, but not nearly as much as a National Emergency. They are much more common, there was 6 of those just last year. No one knows what they were, but we know what this is.
I don't think that Trump has changed his mind at all, I think he is just doing what he has to do to appease people that are going nuts because of the media. You have less of a chance of something biting you in the ass if you overdue it, and it is hard to prove that something was overdone when looking back.

I'm not saying the experts are wrong, what I am saying is how it is being conveyed to the people, and how much the news influences not only the country but the Government when people get scared. The 2009 H1N1 Pandemic looks exactly like this, the only difference is kids were getting it, and people under the age of 54 were dying. But it was a controlled response, done not to create hysteria, probably at the request of the government, and I think they adhered to that request.
A whole high school got it in the beginning, did you hear about it? Do you remember it? The media did not want to cause a panic and followed those rules. This time around, a panic is exactly what they want, and that is what they got. You cannot deny that. NBA, NCAA, NHL, all sports shut down, some schools not only closed now, but for the rest of the year. Restaurants and businesses, laws have been made to restrict congregations, nation-wide.
We will all surely remember this pandemic, but you wouldn't have if it was treated the same as H1N1, which was a pandemic.... The guidelines from the CDC were the same, social distancing, stay away from the vulnerable, if you are sick, stay home.. Just the circumstances in reporting it is different. The media sees a chance for people to be glued to their TV's and they are taking it, mostly to kill Trump Presidency, boosting ratings is just a plus.
I remember the swine flu faintly, and I don't remember Obama or Biden ever getting criticized for the way they handled anything, even though testing kits were not really readily available until a month later, no one really complained, people probably did, but it just wasn't reported. This is the same exact situation. If they did not create a panic, most of the country wouldn't even care about this. But this time around, it is worse right? We need them to care. Please prove to me that Corona Virus is worse than the H1N1 virus, and I will waive the white flag.
Here is a good report from the CDC on the H1N1 and how it unfolded, first two people to get it were 5 year old kids, 130 miles apart https://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/cdcresponse.htm
You can believe though, when Trump and Biden (if he can make it that far) face off, this will be a major talking point about the differences between what Trump/Pence did and what Biden/Obama did with H1N1. By then the US will be back on pace for another record breaking economic upturn.

@Dr.Franklin
That is because high profile people are being tested regardless. They have the money to do so, even if they aren't showing any symptoms. We are never going to catch up to this thing because the people spreading it around have it but don't know it. What is the point of testing someone that is already sick? Would they do anything or tell them anything different positive or negative? If they only have the flu, do they tell them to go gallivanting around and not worry about anything? No, they tell them to go home and get better.
I guarantee if we tested everyone in the US, there would be millions testing positive that do not have any symptoms. That is why it cannot be stopped.
I say, we pass testing kits out to all the high schools in the country, get all the kids tested. This would be a big sample size to get a better idea of what we are dealing with and we would be sending people home if they test positive regardless of how they feel.
Continuing to test people that are already really sick or deathly ill is just a way to make the mortality rate rise and scare the shit out of people, like the media already has.
Just my thought.

I agree with you, but the statistics are so hard to find, and it is still a good indication of how quickly the diseases spread in comparison. The way the media is asking questions is putting words in the experts mouths they are interviewing. Did you watch the interviews with Dr. F on Sunday? The administration's top Dr. on infectious diseases, he went on like 5 different networks on the same day. They are all asking questions that or more like statements for him to agree with. Chuck Todd was the worst of the bunch, unfortunately, he was probably tuned into more than anyone else?
Do you think we should close everything indefinitely? Do you think we should all be ready to hunker down for an unknown amount of time? If we all did that, how long do you think it would be?
Over and over and over again he asked the same statement/question in a different way.
These are all questions leading to a specific answer that can not be answered without being argumentative. I don't think the Dr. realized that, so overall, he ended up agreeing with him, even though you could see on his face that Chuck put words in his mouth.
This lead to the stock market plummeting again even further on Monday. The media wants this to happen, for many reasons that benefit them, not only their agenda, but their ratings. Even Fox News had to get in on the action, for the ratings.

Doesn't the timeline suggest that it is not more contagious?
I agree with the having a computer in your pocket, which gets you information fast, and updates via text, but if they did 24 hour news reporting on the Swine Flu like they are now, everyone would have acted the same. The Governors would have closed everything just like they have done this time around. I'm in MD where they have shut pretty much everything down by law. The market didn't tank like it is doing right now.... in other words, we did not kill people in retirement financially by trying to protect them. In fact we did nothing of the sort because they were the only ones immune to it back in 2009.
I remember hearing/watching the news back then, there was no talk of social distancing unless you were in an area that had been compromised, locally. This is way beyond what they were speaking about.
This is plain and simply biased media freaking everyone the "F" out. Someone should say the above statistics to calm us down a bit. Most people don't understand how big the country really is.

It's been a while since I have posted.
I have been doing some research... I would like to see some concrete statistics on the H1N1 pandemic of 2009, if someone can find more for me that is not biased, that would be great. This is all I have. You would be hard pressed to find much, which I find odd... In fact, I don't really recall the H1N1 pandemic it all that well... we will explore why below.
So here is what I have so far in the United States.
H1N1: April 17, 2009, first confirmed case. April 28, 2009, first confirmed death (not elderly), June 2, 2009 all 50 states have confirmed cases. Timeline cannot be found.--11 days after first confirmed case is the first death. almost exactly a month and a half after the first case, all 50 have it.
Coronavirus: Jan 19, 2000, first confirmed case...February 29th, 2009, first confirmed death (elderly person). March 18th, all 50 states have confirmed cases. We know up until now, but the future is still uncertain.--More than a month after first confirmed case is the first death. 2 months after the first confirmed case, all 50 states have it.
H1N1 spread at a faster rate.
So what is the difference? The Media!!!
Why? Because H1N1 started here in the states, they did not want the world to find out how bad it was. And because Barrack Obama was President. Media deciding how to proceed, not the Government.
I've read many articles, and all have spin on them saying that it is a much different pandemic, so far I can't see much of a difference except for who the ultimate victims are, kids and mid-aged people with H1N1, as opposed to the Elderly with Corona.
Now, maybe you want to say that we learned our lesson from what happened in 2009, and we don't want the same thing to happen, where 12,600 people parish over the course of a year. I can understand that, but at least admit it.
Sources
And some other sources. It took quite a bit of time to gather this. The point is, I think we are over-reacting for political reasons, all governors and presidents alike, and we are going to pay the price for it.

So, Bush was blamed for not doing anything before the terrorist attacks 9/11. Democrats were beside themselves that we didn't know it was going to happen, therefore could not prevent it.
So Trump acts on intelligence that was given to him that there were several attacks in the works, whether they are eminant, or whether they are years in the future doesn't matter, and Democrats want to flip the script and say that this is just plain old murder, when he is trying to prevent something in the future. Just admit, that nothing republicans do will ever suffice.
If Obama had come out and said that there were planned attacks on the US, all would have been hunky dory. You would say that he wouldn't do that, and you are probably correct... Instead he would give them a bunch of money to do two things, buy them out, and get hostages back, proving that we will succumb to ransom, that puts a target on every single US Citizen outside of the country. If he was just giving money back to them that we stole, why did he do it with such secrecy? Just like everything Obama did, in secrecy, at least you have a President that is telling you what is going on.
Iran is a country that can't even have a funeral without 35 people dying by getting trampled during the General's procession, and not everyone was there to mourn, many were there praising it... in their heads. Does that sound like a civilized country? Something has got to give.
This also gave us a chance to get out of the middle east completely.... Does anyone think that we actually want to be in Iraq, it's time to get out, which looks like we may have to do? It also does send a message to everyone that we are not messing around. I think it was a calculated move for far more reasons than are mentioned in this thread. You have no idea what the real intelligence knows, and they sure as heck are not going to share that with you.
Congress is still useless, every day is more useless than the last.

I rather enjoyed this forum between you too. Good points all around. GP please include HistoryBuff in this, I couldn't reply to two people for some reason. I guess I just don't know how.
However, I am confused about how Trump is "digging up dirt" on a political opponent and how that hurts the country? Trump asks Ukraine to investigate a possible corruption case, which is totally in his power to do so. To withhold funds for a short time in order to get a phone call is not a crime. There is a treaty in place with the Ukraine in regards to possible illegal action or corruption that can be brought up and shared between the two countries. This treaty allows legal inquiries and intervention as well as the sharing of information, one big reason Rudy G. probably got involved.
If there is something illegal that Biden has done in the past with regards to his son, who has no experience in international anything, and a recovering drug addict, being on the board of directors of a Ukraine company being scrutinized for corruption, he has the right to ask that it be investigated. http://dcwhispers.com/doh-did-you-know-theres-a-treaty-between-the-usa-ukraine-regarding-cooperation-for-prosecuting-crimes/... If this was found out to be true, would you want this person possibly running for president, so isn't Trump doing what he is supposed to be doing? This is no different than Hillary using her office, her contacts, the intelligence commitees, etc. to help with her election, which you know she did. The difference is they have people hidden away in the White House looking for anything that might be impeachable to leak.
I'm not saying Biden did anything wrong, but why not investigate it? that is what has been happening to Trump since 2015. He is not "digging up dirt" and apparently, that is what the Democrats, like Schiff are saying.. Is an investigation a way to "dig up dirt"?.... that apparently has become synonymous with "investigation" as far as Dems are concerned, he even said it when he addressed the Nation and doesn't even realize it. They have been saying that so long and doing so much of it that they have forgotten that an investigation is not used to "dig up dirt". It is used to see if someone actually did something they are accused of. It is not used to look further into the person in hopes that something else comes up that is criminal. They have totally forgotten that.
Either way, I am upset at what we have become. I predicted that Trump would win, I also argued with Never Trumpers that would not be a big deal, because when he does win, he will be the most scrutinized President in US History, so if he does something wrong we will know it. I was right about him being the most scrutinized, but I was wrong about how it would be a good thing. All it has done is held up Congress from doing what they are supposed to do.
The lying on both sides is reprehensible. Media is all going to hell, and our pets heads are falling off.
You can see the discourse in the country between what the media portrays, what leadership, congress, and Hollywood portrays. and what the true USA thinks by looking and listening to the reviews of Dave Chapelle's stand up on Netflix. All critics said it was repulsive, and it is not worth watching, insensitive and horrible. But the viewers loved it, and it is definitely not as bad as they made it out to be, in fact it is hilarious, I watched it twice. In fact it is very tasteful for him, and comes across as genuine. I think everyone would laugh at it if they decided to watch it, no matter your gender, your race, your identity. Ok Trans people may not like it too much, but you can't please everyone.

What does it matter? All the Founding Fathers were Nazi, racist, slave owners anyway, who didn't care for human rights.... who cares what they thought, right? even though they were smart enough to leave wording vague enough for the ability of different interpretations to in order for the Constitution to last through the future, but keeping our basic rights intact. No one in this day and age would be smart enough to write something in that manner.
We have gained a lot of knowledge in math and sciences, which contributing to major innovation in the past few hundred years, but we have lost the ability to think intellectually, and put things on paper that will last for years to come. No one is thinking about the consequences of the decisions we make now and how they may backfire in the future.
For instance: Being lenient on how we identify ourselves sexually (it is binary, be one or the other) and choosing our own gender at 3 years old, no one understand sexuality at that age. Soon, we will be identifying as animals, and bestiality will be legal and common place, then we will be marrying people to animals, or people will be identifying at different ages..... This is the future of what we are becoming. It may sound far fetched to us now, but it will not the further radical we become and further into the future we are.
My name is DBlaze, he, him, his...them, theirs, we, mine, guys.
This is whole introduction thing above is ridiculous, we should not have to walk on eggshells because a pronoun hurt someone's feelings. Get over it, and get over yourself. Sorry for the rant.

I remember when it was $4.15, and people at some jobs that you would consider entry level were making $10.00 an hour. Even babysitting your next door neighbor got more than the minimum wage, planting shrubs for a nursery got you paid more. In that period, minimum wage was not an issue, if you got paid minimum wage, your boss sucked and you went somewhere else.
Plus, right now you can't go to a fast food joint and not spend $10 or more. It used to be $5, and once this passes, it will be $15.00. At that point might as well go to a regular restaurant, sit down, and pay a tip. Waiters are still going to get a lower rate than min wage. If they don't, then the tipping norms should go way down.

You do need money to run, but you can't outright buy it. Dems are spending millions right now on advertisements... such a waste of money. It just goes into the pockets of big tech and does nothing especially when none of them are going to win. It's just throwing money away that could go to much better things.

Making college free will turn it into 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th grade (community college is close enough to that as it is). It will not change anything because the teachers will be just as good as the economic status of the jurisdictions they are teaching... They will have districts, it will be runned by the county or jurisdiction, there will be regulations where people can go and where they can't. You think that Bernie is all of the sudden going to make Harvard or Yale free?
The problem with education is the donations received from fund raisers, extra curricular activities, mostly from the people that live in the area. If you live in a poor neighborhood, you get the worst teachers, the worst books, the worst schools, less oversight, and nothing ever changes. Free college is nothing different than extending that problem to later years in life. Is that what everyone wants?
I believe in competition, it makes the world go round. The only thing that hurts people is patenting the wrong things, and then taking advantage of that patent by pricing it so high that it is unattainable to the people that need it to survive. Like drugs. Now this is where I feel like a democrat, I point out the wrong but have no feasible suggestions to improve or change the situation, because the people that put a boatload of money into that R and D, should come out making a good amount of money on their investment, but if we make available to all at a low price, there is no incentive.
It's a catch 22

Illegal immigration is causing this issue as well. If US citizens could be paid a living wage to do what politicians call "low level skilled jobs", which is incorrect because everything requires some degree of expertise and skill, I call them trades. (and if you have ever hired an illegal immigrant to do an interior or exterior job at your house, most of the time the work is mediocre at best, which proves that all jobs require skill and patience), then we would have more jobs for US citizens that also contribute to taxes, who did not require college degree.
For instance, I have made a lot of money off of sprinkler heads in ceilings that have been painted over (I sell and replace them). If you are an expert in the field of painting, then any person should know that you cannot paint over sprinkler heads, and each time it is has been an illegal immigrant hired for a cheap wage (picked up at 7-11 or Home Depot) to paint all day long, if it were someone with a real business, the customer would tell them to come back, or make them pay for the replacement, but that is impossible because the owner tried to save money, and these are not do it yourself type people. There are specific ways to paint a house so it looks good and even, so that job, just like any other job requires some expertise. The thing is, they are taking jobs of someone who could really use it, but because illegals are willing to take less pay under the table, a real citizen can't afford to take that job, and real companies are having a hard time staying in business because they cannot compete.
Having jobs available like that for people that have no intention of going to college and wasting 4 years of time that could be used to start their career, or want to start young, learn the business and someday become the boss is what will bring the cost down for school, because there will be less demand. Right now the demand for college is just too high, and you really don't have to have it because it really doesn't teach much of anything that you retain either.... There shouldn't be so many requirements for jobs and having a degree either, everyone pretty much starts from scratch at almost every job.

Maybe it will work out for the best and we choose another businessman to become president again, then that becomes the norm instead of life long politicians that suck up to the elites for money in order to be elected, then are stuck being puppets for the rest of their lives, and don't actually know what it is like to be an average American trying to make a living and support a family... Which is the majority the constituents, we just don't have time or care to protest stupid shit, but the non average person does, and that is who is getting too much of the attention. the .15 or .03 percent of us who complain about things that hurt their feelings.

People love real life drama... That is why they watch all of those stupid "reality TV" shows. I'm not a fan of Trump, but I like how he is saying what he actually thinks instead of kissing up to everyone, regardless if it hurts someones feelings, but maybe that is what causes the divisiveness. I do like his policies though.
I think his policy to foreign governments is worked like a business relationship, and congress, and anyone who works for the Government are his employees... which is the way that it should be. That is what I wanted, but I don't know how that will play out in the long run, it's just something different.

I agree, I want it all to go away. But the real point is some people hate Trump so much that they are willing to break the law in order to catch him breaking the law.
Most of the country wants to see this go away, but a good bit want him ousted no matter what it takes. And it doesn't take many people to cause an uproar. Look at the squad... They are 4 people that have the same passion and are getting all the attention, but almost all of congress disagrees with them. It only takes a few, or even one... John Brennan. He is the real mastermind behind this.

I know... Even I know what Fusion GPS is, and I'm a moron. Mueller said it was not in his purview, how is that not in his purview? it was basically Russian intelligence collected to interfere with the election, but because it presented Trump negatively, it was not investigated to it's fullest, which just proves, none of it is about Russian interference.
Russia has been doing their best and has influenced our voting decisions since there was sufficient communication to do so. All countries, especially our adversary's have a vested interest in who becomes President, only now is it a huge problem, ridiculous. We do the same, politicians speak out about candidates they don't like, presidents have as well, Barack did it numerous times, trying to sway other countries voting habbits... is this not the same thing? I want to see what adds the Russians purchased to disseminate false information, presumably on FB. I have not seen one, so to me, there really is no proof of anything.
I guarantee you that China did more than Russia, but you don't see anything about that. I have no proof, but there is no reason to report it because it does not have anything to do with Trump.

He was just a title of a report, that is it. He is also republican so it looked more bipartisan, but the rest of the investigators, that he apparently hired were all democrats in Hillary's court, Anti-Trumpers. They were in charge of the dirty work.
Mueller probably doesn't like Trump, said he would be the face of the report, but doesn't really know anything about it. That is what I gathered. Wiessman is the real leader of the group.

I will say this one more time. We are a nation of laws, and for good reason. The only thing that has changed from the past is the fact that now women and children are making the trek, or at least trying to, and if they make it, they are getting separated, just like they always have .... which is heartbreaking, but the more inviting we are... the more people that make the trek, the more that get sick, or get hurt, get lost along the way, or we find them dead in the Rio Grande. No one really cared when it was only men coming across, I understand why, because men are different.... right? I find it mesmerizing that the people with so called "empathy" do not see this problem that they are causing. I wish we could help everyone on earth, but the truth is, we cannot.
I have learned this the hard way, with multiple people living at my house for either free or very low rent, which is why I now have many locks on my door. I was generous to too many people that just needed help. Not one out of the 5 people and one family... (husband, wife and child) that I let move into my house, did not take advantage of my generosity. We need to treat the country like our homes, because it is, and people will take advantage, especially if they are fleeing poverty, which I think most are.
I've always liked Clint Eastwood.

People are attacking him left and right. Those four women got together and just bashed him over and over again, saying millions of people are dying because of him, kids are dying and being caged because of him, which is ridiculous. Millions of people are not dying, and a few kids that were sick... died while they were in the US, or trying to get to it. People die all the time, you don't hear about it. With the amount of people down there, someone is going to die. We just don't have the means to care for them and keep our laws intact, which is what some Democrats are completely happy with. They probably hope more children die.
He isn't saying these things because he disagrees with them, he is saying these things because they are throwing him under the bus and accusing him of killing people. What would you do if someone accused you of killing people?
And to tell you the truth, pretty much everyone does get healthcare, even illegal immigrants. We are almost a democratic socialist country right now, we are getting closer and closer to that without people really noticing. Luckily we have another party to try to keep the balance.
Did you notice that the left wing media is not calling them illegal immigrants anymore? They are just calling them immigrants when referring to the people in the country illegally. They have phased it out in the media. Watch the crap news tonight and see how they refer to them. It is brainwashing and it is working.

I know he wasn't born in the US, he was born in Canada, and he told him to go back to it, it is the same thing, only to a white person. Again, why would he say to someone that is born in the USA to go back to their own country, does that mean stay in the place you were born? That doesn't make any sense. I agree, he needs to work on what he says and stop shooting off at the mouth, but he has not gotten where he is by backing down. And I agree, it doesn't make any sense for the few congresswomen that were born here. Their agenda's are going to completely change the country into a different country, with different values and laws. If they feel that the President is racist, then congratulate them for pushing policies that will keep him in office.
He doesn't like it when people shit on the country, not racist. He doesn't like it when people shit on the flag, not racist. He doesn't like it when people demand that the pledge of Allegiance be taken out of schools, not racist. He does not want our democratic republic to become a socialist or communist country.
He doesn't like it when Soccer players that represent the USA, win the cup, then talk shit about the White House when it is an extension of the USA. He doesn't like it when people slander the founding fathers, when they are the ones that set the foundation for this country that they live in... the one that everyone wants to come to in order to escape some of the policies that they are trying to push. He does get upset about it, and I would too.

No, because that wouldn't make any sense.
And he did not mention specific names.. either way, GP just showed you how he told Ted Cruz to go back to Canada. If they were white and pushing this agenda, then yes he would have said the same thing regardless. This race card pulling is getting tiresome.

@n8nrgmi
Why would he say "go back to your own country" to a native born white person?... They are in the country they are from. I think he was specifically talking to Ilhan Omar, who tried to bash him, saying he is killing millions of Americans with the healthcare policies, and making illegal immigrants drink out of toilets in the cages that he, himself put them in. She, was not born in this country, so it applies to her. She does hate this country, yet she came here, and probably skirted some laws herself (some still think she married her brother), and if she does not want to assimilate to Americanism, then go and fix the problems they have in Somalia... Then come back and show us how it is done (Trump quote that the media does not show). Somalia has been going through some tough times in the past 20 to 30 years.
The real problem is that these "4 activists," who really need to spend time on their own districts, just happen to be women of color, and anything at all critical said of them is going to be labeled racist... why don't they have any white people in their "squad"? Because no one agrees with them, even in their own party. The more attention they bring to themselves, the more they hurt the democratic party. They are emotional wrecks, one persons situation will make them cry for weeks. That is not leadership material.
Also, why does the House need to vote on condemning what the President said? What a waste of time... Come on congress, get some real things done instead of complaining. All the complaining and bashing of people just doing there jobs is re-enforcing how ineffective Congress is. Both sides.

I didn’t even know it was possible to report someone.... Why would anyone have to do that regardless of the circumstances on this site? That is pure snowflake craziness. Did someone hurt your feelings? Man this world is really in for a world of hurt if this has what it has come down to..... if someone has to complain to the very people you had complained about how you were not respected for complaining about them, what is next? Free debt relief for college, with no real solution to the problem? Sounds like it.... Or is it crying for an hour over seeing a double rainbow? Wait, that already happened, my bad.

What about the enormous amount of donations that the schools receive? I think we are overlooking and underestimating that amount of money. Maybe that should be regulated more. I'm sure there is something someone can do about that. A percentage of the donations go to more students that are seeking loans to get in? I understand there are scholarships, but the whole reason they give these scholarships is because they are hoping to get paid later on in return when the person becomes someone.
I wonder where tuition actually goes and where those donations go. I have not researched it, but I know most buildings at universities get named after big donors. My grandfather was a huge donor to Penn State, ironically, he was touring the campus after they honored him at a dinner. As they were escorting him out (he was 94), he fell down the stairs at Penn State and died in the hospital not too long after that.
I've always wondered how much he actually contributed to them, especially after the issues the had a few years ago.
